DSM has been blessed with a wonderful, hard-working, and loyal team. Ceci and I are going to do a staff retreat with them, then she and I will take a much-needed vacation. You will recognize most of the names; and I’ve thrown in one or two whom perhaps you haven’t heard from. You’re going to love the insights from all of them - this will be a wonderful smorgasbord! Enjoy! _____________________________________________________________________________ Notable Miracles/Only God Recently, Holy Spirit has given me several words, visions and dreams that will help us discern our times. We are moving into days of power being amped up to a much higher level in the Ekklesia. Prophetic dreams, visions, prophecies and scriptures we have been decreed and they are now accelerating into our times. Holy Spirit has been prophesying and the prophetic word is designed to give us great hope, raise our faith and activate delegated authority at levels we’ve never operated in before. Hear this prophetic word, “There will now be seen throughout the earth a functioning church in the midst of the world’s dysfunction. Multiplied grace is now being poured out. Bound souls shall be set free. Captive hearts will be delivered. Those blinded by sin and iniquity will be liberated from hell’s bondage as the revival of ingathering now leaps ahead. The generations in sync with My angel armies have been soaked in the fresh rains of heaven and will now leap forward into great revival. It will be a movement that moves in power, passion and in purity. I will back it with signs, wonders and miracles. Notable miracles are leaping forth into your regions, into your Ekklesias and your households. The revival in the womb of My intercessors is now leaping. It is leaping from the womb of those who have been in trevail. It is now time for the birthing of My Kingdom revival.” Notable miracles are activating, they are leaping forward. It is time for the supernatural events to happen on the earth as was seen in the scriptures. Miracles will now help change history as was seen in the book of Acts. It is time for another acts of the apostles. Supernatural signs will be seen in the heavens and supernatural deliverance will occur. The word ‘notable’ is the Greek word: ‘gnostos.’ It means: known, great, knowable, perceived, recognizable, capable of being known or a known manifestation of God’s power beyond the natural realm. (1) Notable means only God powers, only God possibilities, only God manifestations, workings, accomplishments and actions. In other words, notable miracles are miracles only God can do. It is God’s action on the earth that cannot be denied. It’s a sign that says, ‘God did this.’ Holy Spirit is saying, “You are now moving into days when notable miracles are accelerating forward through Kingdom Ekklesias. They’re flowing into towns, cities, regions, states, and nations. They will be forced to admit God did that. Only God could. Believe Me for the supernatural power of the living God to come into your churches and into your life. Believe Me for God possibilities. Believe for God action to start being released around you. Believe for God manifestations and deeds. Believe for God accomplishments to flow through your life.” In light of these recent words I have received, Holy Spirit has been prompting me to pray about healings and miracles. I have been doing that now for several weeks. Also, I asked the Lord to give me prophetic understanding concerning these words and He did. He gave me a very unusual and very unique dream and a word that connects to notable miracles for our times. In the dream, I was in a very large room with what looked to be around a hundred people. All age groups were represented from young children to the elderly. I could see each individual very clearly. I looked over to one side and I saw a blind man standing and holding a white cane. I looked around the room and I saw some people who were obviously deaf because they were using sign language. I saw other people with sores all over their bodies. The sores looked infected and I knew it was a kind of skin disease or perhaps skin cancer. I saw others who were extremely sick and in the last stages of deadly disease. I saw some who appeared to be stroke victims. They were paralyzed and dragging their leg or couldn’t use their arm. I saw a few others in wheelchairs. It was as if I was in a sick ward with people experiencing all sorts of sickness and disease. I could see the hollow look in their eyes and the fear and hopelessness was written on their faces. I remember in the dream I was feeling so bad and so sad for them. I wanted to get out of the room because I didn’t want them to see me cry and it wasn’t about me. At this point in the dream, I knew to walk across the hall to a room on the other side. When I walked into this room it also had about a hundred people inside of it. However, these people were completely different than the others. They were happy, joyous, laughing and the absolute picture of health. They were energetic, filled with life and interacting with one another. I obviously noted the contrast between the two rooms. I stood there for a moment and a man walked up to me that I’ve never met but I instantly recognized him. (It was T.L. Osborn, who is now in heaven. He is one of the famous evangelists that moved in healings and miracles. I’ve seen videos of his healing crusades where dozens of wheelchairs and crutches were left at the altar. Notable miracles happened as God used this great man.) The dream continued: He and another person walked up to me. T.L. Osborn asked me if I recognized the man with him. I replied, “No sir, I don’t think I do.” Then, he brought someone else over to me and asked me if I recognized them. Again I said, “No, Dr. Osborn, I don’t think I know them.” He continued bringing people to me and asking if I knew them and I continued to reply that I did not. Then, Dr. Osborn beamed at me with his broad smile and he asked me to look very closely at each person. So I did, but again I said that I did not recognize them. He then said to me, “You were just in the room across the hall with these very same people.” He pointed to one person and said, “This is the one who had sores all over their body and part of their face was disfigured. He gestured to another person and said, “This person was in the wheelchair over against the wall.” He continued pointing out others, “This one was the stroke victim who couldn’t move her arm. These people were the ones in the last stages of cancer who could barely stand. And remember this man? He was the blind man with the white cane. Here are the children that you saw that were so sick and in such pain they could hardly move, let alone try to play.” One after the other he began to introduce me to these people so healthy and transformed that I didn’t recognize they were the same ones I had seen across the hallway in great desperate conditions. Then Dr. Osborn asked me, “Do you know what room you are in?” To which I replied, “No, I just wanted to get out of that other room, so I came into this one.” He smiled broadly again and said, “This is the covenant room.” He pointed to a sign on the wall that read 1 Peter 2:24, last line, “By Whose stripes we were healed.” We are now in a season of supernatural deliverances and notable miracles. King Jesus is stepping to center stage, with His Ekklesia by His side, to magnify His magnificent healing covenant. He went to the whipping post, took stripes upon His back and He purchased a covenant right to our healing. Holy Spirit is clearly saying it is time to press into the miraculous healing realm. It’s time to believe Me for notable miracles. Pray with me: Father God, activate the gift of the workings of miracles and the gift of healings across this land in Jesus’ Name. Do it around the world. We decree the King is rising to release notable miracles. Loose healings and miracles throughout all 50 states and around the planet. Loose them in homes. Loose them in families. Show us how big and how great You are. Holy Spirit, pour out power from heaven to activate miracles in our midst. We agree with heaven’s plan and we thank You for angels of healing that are releasing and connecting to miracles and wonders. God, we believe whatever the need You can take care of it. God Will Do It Again From 1995 to 2000 an incredible revival occurred at Brownsville Assembly of God in Pensacola, Florida. The revival was led by Pastor John Kilpatrick, Steve Hill was the evangelist, and Lindell Cooley was the worship leader. They were a remarkable, God-appointed team. During those five years, over 2 million people from around the world visited the church, often waiting in long lines all night and all day to get into the meetings. Some estimates of the number of conversions are as high as 200,000. Larry Tomczak shares some interesting memories and insights regarding the revival: “Driving to Pensacola, Florida to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary, my wife and I had a mosaic of memories from where our lives intersected with millions who were radically transformed by what happened at the Brownsville church over 20 years ago. “Walking the grounds reminiscing and at times wiping away tears, I thanked God that I was able to also teach regularly alongside Dr. Michael Brown in the Bible school that exploded almost overnight, from a handful to over 1,100 students. Two of our children attended; one of them is now leading a thriving Atlanta church with his wife, whom he met at BRSM (the Brownsville Revival School of Ministry), and the other is an executive assistant in a national Christian ministry promoting Spirit-led generosity. “At the center of this Holy Spirit outpouring were two core values: the presence of God and humble repentance before a Holy God. God, Fix America “Here’s a question asked often, yet basically is off the mark: ‘How can we get God to fix America?’ “We should be asking instead, ‘What is holding back the presence of God that truly could transform America?’ We need to recalibrate our thinking so that our focus is not so much on creature comforts, or on clever ways to accumulate more bodies in our church buildings. His magnificent obsession was that once again the presence of Almighty God would be experienced among Israel. Honoring The National Day of Prayer Today is America’s National Day of Prayer. The timing couldn’t be more appropriate. In order to be unified with millions of believers around the nation, for today’s post I am using the statement, guide, and prayer provided by the National Day of Prayer Committee. I have added a paragraph at the end of their prayer for the Supreme Court and the pending Dobbs verdict. This recorded version of the post will be intentionally shorter. I am encouraging you to use the guide/suggestions to pray individually, and to join either the National Day of Prayer or Intercessors For America in their prayers today. Cleanse our land from the bloodshed of 63 million innocent babies. Our faith is that the blood of Jesus cleanses us from ALL sin and unrighteousness. Apply it now we pray, and heal our land. And deliver us from evil leaders who have no regard for the lives of pre-born babies. We Value Our Babies According to a recent Newsmax article by Michael Dorstewitz, YouTube, owned by Google, is now banning some pro-life customers. Last week they cancelled pro-life news service LifeSiteNews. LifeSiteNews’s John-Henry Westin said they were never even given a warning prior to Joe Biden’s administration. “The implication,” Dorstewitz went on to say, “is that the new administration ushered in cancel culture full-bore.” So much for free speech from the “tolerant” left. (We here at DSM urge you to become familiar with Rumble very quickly.) God loves babies. He designs them. He knows them. He has dreams and visions for each one. The Bible tells us He forms each infant in his/her mother’s womb and has a destiny planned for them before they are born. Those of us who understand God’s passion for each life He creates know that abortion must end. Just as slavery was a wicked evil that brought a curse into the nation and had to be abolished, abortion must be abolished. It is destroying lives created by God. Let me give you some hope in this battle. America has been focused on the transition from Trump to Biden in the last few months. Between all of the controversy surrounding the elections and a second impeachment trial of Trump, many have missed the quiet revolution growing at the state level. Pro-life legislation is being drafted at an increasing pace. Many of our states have conservative governors or legislatures in place; some have both. With the confirmation of Justice Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court last Fall, and a conservative majority now seated on the bench, many states feel it is time to limit abortion and promote life for the unborn. So, even though Mr. Biden has signed an Executive Order to renew federal funding of abortions domestically and abroad, be encouraged! A number of states are currently working to restrict or end abortion. Here are some of the state-level actions: The Arizona legislature is discussing bans on abortion. AZ has a Republican House and Senate, so any restrictions are likely to pass. In January, Indiana’s most recent law restricting abortion took effect. It requires a woman to receive an ultrasound within 18 hours of a scheduled abortion. The hope is women seeing their baby will change their minds. Iowa has proposed an amendment to their constitution stating abortion rights are not protected. Kentucky has a born-alive bill moving through the legislative process. This bill would demand doctors work to preserve the life of a baby surviving an abortion procedure. (It is unfathomable that such a bill would be necessary in America, yet it is.) Last Fall, a Mississippi law banning abortions after 15 weeks was overturned by a lower court. A federal appeals court agreed. The Supreme Court refused to hear the case, so for now the ban is on hold. MS Attorney General Lynn Fitch said she hoped the Court would accept the case and “allow Mississippi to defend innocent life as the Legislature and people of this great state intend.” Undaunted by the SCOTUS decision, the Mississippi legislature said they will continue to work to restrict abortions as much as possible. Louisiana passed legislation mimicking Mississippi’s abortion law that will take effect when Mississippi’s law is finally approved. Montana wants to restrict abortions to under 20 weeks. They are also looking to demand a woman seeking the abortion pill to have it administered in person by a doctor. (Currently, the first dose can be given by a nurse or PA and the second can be taken by the woman at her home.) Ohio passed a requirement last year for the bodies of aborted fetuses (babies) to be buried or cremated. Utah has done the same. Tennessee prohibits abortions based on race, gender, or a Downs-syndrome diagnosis. Texas is looking to tighten their ban on abortions from 20 weeks to 12 weeks gestation. Numerous states have enacted various bans on abortion that are being challenged in the court system. According to the19th.org, “16 states have laws that would ban abortions if Roe v Wade were overturned. There are 17 pending abortion cases that could be heard before the high court.” The Guttmacher Institute has a list of current state laws governing abortion here. “For You created my innermost parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. This is such encouraging news. We ask You to bless each of the states above for their actions to fight for the lives of the unborn. Grant them grace and favor to see continued abortion restrictions enacted at the state level. We commit to pray for their success. We commit to fight alongside our state governing officials to remove abortion from our states. We will work to put pro-life state legislators in office. We will do whatever it takes to end this barbaric practice in America. Lord, make our states ready to stand firm against any federal legislation or executive action demanding the expansion of abortion services. We reject compromise in this area connected to federal funding. We will fight legislatively for life just as we did 150 years ago for the ending of slavery in America. We will not stop until life is made the law of the land for every precious little one. Father, we ask You to move mightily through the Courts in favor of the babies. Their blood cries out to You; our voices cry out to You, as well. Give the pro-life judges backbones of steel. Remove those who favor allowing the death to continue. Shape the thinking more and more of the five conservative Justices on the Supreme Court into that of uncompromising positions for “Life.” Shore up any areas where they might be vulnerable or tempted to compromise. And protect them and their families from harm. We ask all of this in the name of America’s Creator, Jesus Christ. Amen. We have requested that Facebook also verify us, but they have not yet chosen to do so. Beware of these scammers and please report them. Stay Informed Most of you are probably aware by now that the government and social media platforms have now decided to censor we conservatives. Under the guise of national security, free speech is on hold in America. If many on the far Left have their way, this will not be temporary. Having now achieved what they perceive as complete control, they’ve decided to pull out all the stops and silence we “intolerant” Christians and conservatives. I’m sure you see the irony in that. One is no longer allowed to state that he or she disagrees with the United States government, nor their beliefs that an election may have been contaminated. This is now forbidden. Not only will the media platforms shut you down for doing so but government agencies will call to send you the message you are crossing the line. Don’t think I am guessing about this. If they have their way, the Left will not stop, until they have completely silenced we unruly gun owners and Bible believers. Some of you may have noticed you are no longer able to share our posts on one of the social media platforms. It seems we have violated some standard of decency; when shared, they are labeled as spam. We will no doubt continue to be disciplined until we learn our lesson and toe their ideological line. We were not surprised by this; frankly, we expected it a little sooner. We have been weighing the cost versus benefits of being as honest as we want to be. Knowing the new standards set by big tech and the government, we are trying to determine whether to speak our positions and beliefs clearly and run the risk of being shut down, or adjust somewhat in order to ensure being able to encourage, inform, and equip you. We are also, of course, preparing to deliver our messages on other platforms. In fact, I urge you to go to my website (dutchsheets.org) and sign up for my newsletter (right side of front page). I will use that method of communication in case the other platforms are compromised. As Americans, we will find a way to maintain our freedom and liberty; we always do. Our suggestion to you is to become familiar with the other communication platforms - both audio and visual - as quickly as you possibly can. We realize this is inconvenient for all of us and until some of these new platforms expand their capabilities, they can be challenging to use. But the effort is necessary. If you want to maintain the ability to communicate freely and hear the truth, it is likely you will have to move away from these mainstream communication networks. Now that they know they can get away with it, they have no intention of tolerating us in the future. Please pray for God to give believers and conservatives breakthrough very quickly in this tech arena. We cannot afford to be at the mercy of vindictive and controlling people. Pray for creativity, wisdom, financing, and even technological breakthroughs. Pray for such creativity, revelation, understanding, and wisdom to be given, that the liberal platforms will become inferior and second rate very quickly. Freedom of speech must remain free. And lastly, pray with us for a release of the sweeping revival that is on the way; call it forth every day. This will be a game-changer for everything. When millions of Americans have had powerful encounters with Holy Spirit and He takes up residence within them, their passions and beliefs will change. This will weaken the hold of liberalism, secularism, and socialism; and that is when the full reformation of America to God’s original intent will occur. This is coming. And it will not be stopped. Pray with me: Father, we pray for America today. Thank You for this incredible nation You raised up to be Your voice in the earth, to trumpet the gospel of the Kingdom to all the nations. This is an amazing honor and a destiny and we don’t take it for granted. We pledge to honor this covenant with You. We declare even now that the greatest release of the gospel from this nation in all of history will occur. Though some would seek to annul this covenant, and others would say it never existed - even some Christians - we know otherwise. Thank You for preserving it. Thank You for making clear to us, through the words on the Liberty Bell and those that were spoken at Cape Henry, that this is Your destiny for America. Represent Him Well When we are born again, we are no longer mere humans, we are a new creation, a new race of spiritual beings. In Acts, the followers of Christ began to be called Christians (“little Christs”). In his first letter to Corinth, Paul chastised believers for acting like “mere men” (3:3). We are not merely human; we are daughters and sons of the Most High God, filled with His Spirit and anointed by Him to steward the earth and serve people. On a wall near the main entrance to The Alamo in San Antonio, Texas is a portrait with the following inscription: James Butler Bonham - no picture of him exists. This portrait is of his nephew, Major James Bonham, deceased, who greatly resembled his uncle. It is placed here by the family that people may know the appearance of the man who died for freedom. No literal picture of Jesus exists either. He can be seen, however, in the lives of His followers, the Church. The big question now centers around whether or not we will walk in our role of revealing Christ and partnering with God on the earth. Will we allow Him to move us back into His original plan of stewarding the earth for Him, or do we think we are saved just to one day get to heaven? Let’s ask Him for a better understanding of what Jesus meant when He said He would build his Church, His ekklesia. Bill Johnson shares the following report of an outreach to Tijuana, Mexico. It’s so incredible, it’s almost hard to believe, but Bill is a man of great integrity. Enjoy this wonderful testimony: The team met at 6PM on a stage set near the most desperate part of the street, which houses prostitutes, gangs, and rampant drug trade. They began with a time of prayer during which the team became completely filled with His presence. The surrounding people were being drawn to the spectacle, just as in the book of Acts when people gathered around the people of God to see what was happening. However, the rain that had been threatening to pour all day, started to fall shortly after ministry began. One of our leaders ran up to the microphone, knowing that if the rain continued, it would take away from what God wanted to accomplish that night. He told the crowd that God was going to stop the rain. As he spoke, and then prayed a quick prayer, the rain stopped, leaving all amazed and wondering how this could have possibly happened! News of the miracle spread and even more people came out of restaurants and shops to see what was happening. People couldn’t help but be drawn in. One look at the nationals’ faces revealed their desire for God’s presence and a deep longing for a revelation of His love. For six hours, the team preached, received and released words of knowledge, led people to the Lord, and saw numerous miracles of healing. It was as if what was occurring had a momentum of its own; it was beyond comprehension. The team was co-laboring with God; the Gospel was coming to life! There were at least six altar calls. Over one hundred people received Christ into their hearts, including five prostitutes, an immigrant from Iran, and a man whose eye had been gouged out in a fight! Many experienced miraculous healings in their bodies. One girl had a tumor in her throat that completely dissolved. An alleged hit-man fell to his knees and repented of murdering people and trading drugs. A woman listening from her fifth-story window across from the outdoor stage cried out for Jesus, as she sensed God’s presence. I believe stories such as this should be the norm for Christ’s Church. We should release the Kingdom authority of Christ, and leave the mark of changed lives everywhere we go. Our prayers and representation of Him should make a difference. Since we cannot “force” Christ and His ways on people, our conclusion often has been to assume we can make very little difference in our world. In fact, the prevailing mindset has been to place all hope for change in God’s sovereignty - a belief that when He wants and chooses to, He will bring situations in accordance with His will. If this concept of God’s sovereignty were true, however, it would mean that places, cultures, and lives are devastated, suffering is occurring, and people are going to hell simply because God is not yet motivated to do something about it. The problem lies with us. We are the church, the ekklesia, and we are to represent God on the earth. We must ascertain His will, then implement it through prayer and other spiritual weapons. We love and serve people, ministering Christ’s salvation - binding satan’s plans and schemes. This is the role of the ekklesia. As the true Church continues to arise, heaven will gain increasing influence on earth, while hell’s influence will decrease. Pray with me: Lord, You modeled what You wanted Your Ekklesia to be when You were here on earth. You loved, served, taught, and healed people everywhere You went. And You moved in Your authority over the powers of darkness. Freedom, life, and blessing followed You everywhere. This is surely what You intend Your church to release. Give increased understanding to us regarding this. We desire to represent You appropriately, as You deserve. We want people who do not know You to be born again. And we want to see people free from oppression fear, disease, sin, and despair. And Lord, we continue to pray for America. We pray for the great outpouring of Your spirit You have spoken of. We pray for millions of people to come to salvation. We pray for a return to our calling as a nation, that we will be used in this hour to be a voice for You to the entire world. We bind every principality and spiritual power attempting to stop this and trying to move this nation away from You. We declare that their plans will fail, in the name of Jesus, amen. Roe versus Wade The Give Him 15 posts must be written and recorded the afternoon or evening before the day of their release. This is why yesterday’s post did not deal with the Supreme Court decision on the Dobbs abortion case. I don’t need to explain what was leaked - I’m sure everyone has heard by now. I do have a few thoughts to share today regarding the developments, however. Rejoice but Stay Focused First, rejoice but stay focused. In Ezra 3 the Israelites were attempting to see Jerusalem restored. The first step was rebuilding the Temple. After the successful laying of the foundation, there was a great celebration - they poured a slab and threw a party. However, their enemies regrouped very quickly, organizing an intimidation and slander campaign, including the hiring of lobbyists. It wasn’t long before they succeeded in stopping the rebuilding process; the delay lasted 16 years. Their diabolical scheming had worked. God had to raise up two prophets, Haggai and Zechariah, to motivate the Israelites to restart the work. We must take a lesson from this. We’re deceiving ourselves if we think the enemies of Christ in America, backed by demonic powers, will give up in their attempt to take over this nation. Ultimate victory over their efforts will not occur until a great awakening turns the hearts of tens of millions of Americans. This will happen - America shall be saved. Not only must we see revival, but there is still much work to be done on the practical side. Regarding the abortion issue: if this ruling holds, it will not make abortion illegal, but simply send the decision to the states to do as they choose. A few will completely outlaw the process, others will put strict limitations on it, and still others will continue to murder babies - some even after they are born. Sadly, many in America have seared consciences. That being said, the reversing of Roe is absolutely critical to the turning of our nation; God holds nations accountable for the decisions of their leaders. America, as a whole, has fed Baal and Molech the blood of innocent babies for 50 years. That national curse can now be broken, if the decision stands. Please don’t forget that no decision is final until formally released by the Court. This Was Planned There is little doubt in my mind that this was all planned and coordinated by the left. I don’t believe for one minute that a single rebel secretly decided to do this, then late Monday night government officials on the left began scrambling to take advantage of it. Their prepared statements were ready and began coming forth immediately - some Monday night, others Tuesday morning. A number of government officials on the left actually used the same phrases, one of which was “we will fight like hell.” (Don’t use that phrase if you are a conservative, by the way. Your words will be twisted to mean you are promoting physical violence, and the Homeland Gestapo will pay you a visit.) This was a coordinated effort to re-engage the left, many of whom have lost faith in Biden and the Dems. They have felt the effects of runaway inflation, seen the pathetic state of affairs at the border, and are shocked at how quickly Biden is losing his cognitive abilities. Something drastic needed to happen to awaken the base before the November elections. Yes, the ruling would have likely happened anyway in June, but this leak gives them more time and the ability to get out in front of it. They will try to pass a national law legalizing abortion, and there will come attempts to pack the Supreme Court, all of which will re-energize their base. Yes, it is a despicable breach of protocol to politicize the Court in this way, but the reality is that they politicized the Court a long time ago. And as far as leaks go, they had no problem leaking information from the Oval Office, the most powerful office in the world. In fact, they praised and lauded the leakers, calling them “whistleblowers.” If they would do that to the President, why would they not do it to the Supreme Court? It is certainly no more sacred an institution than the Presidency of the United States. These people know no shame. They are liars and are hell-bent on changing this nation into a globalist, antichrist nation. Jubilee My friend, Tom Schleuter, sent me an article he wrote yesterday morning regarding the biblical concept of Jubilee. (You can read the entire article here.) Here is a portion: “Forty-nine! On the night of May 2, 2022, as I was falling asleep the Lord told me to remember the number forty-nine…As I woke up the next morning, the number was again prominent in my thoughts. “The Lord took me back to a memory in February of 2001. I had just returned from a prayer assignment in Germany with my good friend, Beth Alves. During my preparation time for the next Sunday message the Lord said to me, ‘I want you to concentrate on the number forty-nine.’ I wasn't sure what He was talking about until He clarified and said, ‘I want you to preach this Sunday on Jubilee.’ I struggled a bit with His request because I knew that our church would be celebrating its 50th-year Jubilee a year later in 2002. But He persisted, so I began studying and reading the passages referring to Jubilee in Leviticus 25:8-22. [In short, all property was returned to its original owner, all debts were forgiven, and all who had sold themselves into slavery in order to pay debts were freed. This was all a prophetic picture of Christ our Jubilee - restoring and forgiving us.] “By reading and meditating on the above verses one can see that there are many powerful blessings the Lord releases during the Jubilee season. And I use the word season because it literally takes place over a three-year period. In 2001 our congregation was entering its 49th year and the Lord was making it very clear to us that He was taking us into the process of Jubilee, so I preached on Jubilee that next Sunday. Within the next few weeks, there was a tremendous unexpected blessing poured out on our congregation. We received a gift of a grand piano; a woman sowed a significant financial gift and a $100,000 restoration was done to the interior of our building; other tremendous financial gifts come in. But perhaps most importantly, the Lord began to fine-tune our vision of being a strategic House of Prayer, to Arlington, TX, the state of Texas, and the nation. “One powerful aspect of Leviticus 25 is that the Lord answers a question that had been asked by the people, ‘What are we to do if we cannot sow during the 49th year, which is also a Sabbath year?’ They were concerned. If they didn't sow in the 49th year, they would have nothing to eat in the 50th year. But the 50th year was set aside as a time of God’s providential and powerful blessing upon the people. They were not to work, plow, sow, or reap. The Lord would make sure there was enough reaped in the 49th year to sustain them in the 50th and 51st years! “Why would God again bring up the number 49 to me? Because we are in the 49th year of Roe versus Wade. January of 2023 will be the 50th anniversary of the decision. The Lord began making it clear to me that it is time to press in for Jubilee, to prepare for Jubilee's deliverance and blessing. Just as with Israel, this is not a time to be fretful or worrisome about provision. It's a time to concentrate on Jubilee and on the tremendous providential blessings the Lord is about to bring upon America during the 50th year. “We must continue to press in with prayer during this season. We must finish this race, and cross the finish line. We cannot give up in the last moments as we proceed toward victory. The curse that has been upon our nation for almost 50 years is about to be removed because of the blood of Christ and the faithful intercessions of God’s ekklesia. The work of many in prayer, legislation, fervent lobbying, and the constant calling forth for life for our nation is bringing about a great Jubilee blessing. “But again, we must persevere. It has been prophesied by several that the next three years will be a season of great spiritual warfare, a time of great conflict regarding the issue of life and death, blessing and cursing. We must rise up as God's chosen people, sons and daughters of the Most High God, and continue to pray that life and Jubilee will be released over our nation. It's 49, and we are heading toward 50.” Pray with me: Father, we thank You for the changes occurring in our land. Yet, we know we have much ground to retake. We ask You for supernatural help, and we know this is coming. Our greatest help will come through the revival You are sending. Changed hearts will change minds, which will bring about great societal change. We ask You to cause every Justice voting to overturn Roe to hold fast. And we ask for an awakening of the conscience of our nation. May America fall in love with the babies again and protect life at all costs. We ask You once again to forgive us for this great evil. Heal those that have been touched by it, and give America a fresh Jubilee start. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Jubilee. Amen. The “Separation of Church and State” Myth I have decided that one more post regarding government is necessary. We did several posts a week ago on the subject; however, I believe “the separation of church and state” needs to be addressed. In last week’s teachings, we stressed that God honors the concept of government. More than simply believing in it, however, He tells us in Isaiah 33:22 that He IS government: Lawgiver, Judge, and King. Our government, with its three branches - Legislative, Judicial, and Executive - was formed after this pattern. He, as the Author of government, desires to funnel His wisdom, will, and ways into the earth’s realm through a righteous government. I have often said, “Although God initiated, endorsed, and therefore blesses the concept of government, He despises the ‘political spirit.’” The political spirit is to government what a religious spirit is to relationship with God. Both are perversions of the truth. They are evil. These spirits partnered to crucify Jesus. In America, the political spirit has so defiled our government that deception, a lust for control and power, antichrist ideals/agendas, and greed control much of Washington, D.C. This rebellion and rejection of God eventually opens the door to depravity, such as killing babies up to a month old, which some are now trying to make legal. One of the most important statements in America’s founding documents is found in the first sentence of the Bill of Rights, Amendment I: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” This Amendment was written to keep our nation from favoring any denomination or religious group, and from forming a state Church or religion, as had occurred in England. The king was the overseer of the Church of England and the combined power of church and state in that situation was very oppressive to many people. The First Amendment also ensured individuals could relate to God as they desired without the intrusion of government. It was meant to keep government control out of the church, not keep God or His influence out of government. Our founders wanted God’s influence in our government. The rotunda of the Capitol was actually used for church services every Sunday morning for decades. Presidents, including Adams, Jefferson, Lincoln, and others regularly attended. Jefferson actually did so just two days after penning his now-famous letter to the Danbury Baptists, in which he used the phrase “wall of separation between church and state.” This statement, “a wall of separation between church and state,” does not exist in the First Amendment - or any other place - in the Constitution. Jefferson stated it in a letter to answer a question posed to him by the Danbury Baptist Association of Danbury, CT, who were concerned about the government forming a state religion. Here is what Jefferson, one of the authors of the U. S. Constitution, actually said in this response dated October 17, 1801: “Gentlemen - Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God; that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship; that the legislative powers of government reach actions only and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should ‘make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,’ thus building a wall of separation between Church and State.” (1) David Barton, considered an expert on the intent of our nation’s Founders, said this: “Thomas Jefferson had no intention of allowing the government to limit, restrict, regulate, or interfere with public religious practices. He believed, along with the other Founders, that the First Amendment had been enacted only to prevent the federal establishment of a national denomination.” (2) Over time, the overall effect of the false doctrine regarding “The Separation of Church and State” concluded that neither the church nor God should have any influence in the American government. The true meaning, government not controlling or favoring certain religious groups, has been largely ignored. Consider the following examples: The Little Sisters of the Poor won a Supreme Court case on July 8, 2020, after a 10-year-long battle regarding the Obamacare mandate requiring them to provide contraceptive coverage to their employees. This is against their religious beliefs. While “churches” were exempt from the mandate, other religious organizations were not. President Trump’s “Religious Freedom Restoration Act” made all religious organizations exempt, as they should be. It took an Executive Order to finally get this basic First Amendment right granted to Little Sisters of the Poor. COVID-19 saw the shutdown of almost all businesses and places of worship. On re-opening, some states tried to keep churches and synagogues locked down while opening bars, casinos, malls, and the like. This made no sense and was obvious discrimination against Christians and Jews. Churches went on the offense. Some chose civil disobedience, opening anyway, while complying with the same laws similar businesses were following. They also sued their states and cities. Pastor Mike McClure and Apostle Che Ahn, both in California, were on the frontlines of that battle. Pastor McClure was fined millions of dollars for keeping his church open. He spearheaded a case representing the Christians of Santa Clara County against the state of California and the County. Che Ahn’s case for Harvest Rock Church was returned by SCOTUS back to the lower court decision, giving them a victory. On 2/6/21, the Supreme Court ruled in McClure’s favor. (Click here to read FRC’s report on the case.) “Boston violated the free speech rights of a Christian group, Camp Constitution, by refusing to fly a flag bearing the image of a cross at City Hall as part of a program that let private groups use the flagpole while holding events in the plaza below, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled on Monday (voting 9-0)…The dispute arose over Boston's practice of allowing private groups to hold flag-raising events using one of three flagpoles on the plaza in front of City Hall. From 2005 to 2017, Boston approved all 284 applications it received before rebuffing Camp Constitution. The vast majority of flags were those of foreign countries, but also included one commemorating LGBT Pride in Boston…The Supreme Court, which has a 6-3 conservative majority, has taken an expansive view of religious rights and has been increasingly receptive to arguments that governments are acting with hostility toward religion.”(3) We give God thanks for this! We currently have an administration that is anti-Christian. Therefore, we will continue to see boldness in trying to advance the restrictions of religious freedom during their tenure. We must stand strongly and bravely against those attempts. We will pray, we will act, and we will never allow any tyrannical government to restrict our freedom to worship as we believe is right. This is not only a political or philosophical battle; it is a spiritual battle. We will fight and we will win. “For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and He will give you victory!” (Deuteronomy 20:4 NLT) Pray with me: Lord, we exalt Your holy name and proclaim that YOU are God over America. This reality is something no government entity can ever take away from us. Some people in their foolishness, are trying to convince the world there is no God, or that You are irrelevant. Whether because they believe the Church is unimportant, or see us as a threat, they are actively trying to silence us. Our courts have been attempting to interpret our Constitution in progressive, humanistic ways for over 50 years. We have sat back in compliance giving the enemy a foothold. Now we must reverse the damage. Help us to watch carefully and teach us to intercede with wisdom and understanding. Also, give us skill and sound ideas as we take action. We appeal to You, Lord. We ask You to grace us with a holy boldness to push back against the darkness. We will not allow the government to say we can’t have a voice in governmental matters, nor will we comply with laws and judicial decisions that are contrary to Your word and ways. We want Your influence in every aspect of government, so that we and our offspring may live in peace and prosperity. Be glorified in us, Father, and may this nation glorify You. This is very important for each one of us to understand. You need to know that God made you and has given you a portion, not only in eternity, but here in the earth realm. Psalm 16:5 says, “The Lord is the portion of my inheritance, my cup. He is all I need. You support my lot.” Inheritance means “my portion.” When you start looking at the inheritance that God has given you, you realize you are moving into a new portion and that you have a portion to establish and steward. We have just completed Passover 2022, or 5782 on the Hebraic calendar. In Hebrew, the number 80 begins with the letter “Pey,” which is also the first letter in Pesach, or Passover -- so the whole decade we're living in now is an era of Passover. An era is a particular historic timeframe. We're living in a new era and the history for our future is being recreated. God's not in time, but we're in a time and need to understand that He made us in His image. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and we, too, have a timeframe for yesterday, today, and the future. Most people never look at the future or where they are going, so they just live and get caught in the timeframe and the trauma of their past, or in the present with all of the conflict that's around them. This causes them to lose sight of their future. But in this Passover era, if you'll remember that you are passing over, crossing over, and moving from one dimension to another dimension, you will always keep the right perspective of where you're going. Passover is a Time to Cross Over! There were several Passovers in the Word of God, beginning with the original Passover of Redemption. There comes a time when we must embrace coming out of whatever Egypt we're living in. Redemption means you've been bought back. There's been a price paid for you to recover all that you have been given and you are now moving to do just that. There's also what is called the Passover of Promise which Joshua and the people celebrated after crossing over into the Land. I believe it is the Passover we are celebrating this year. Hebraically, the year 5782 is linked with building in the Pey era because the numeral 2 is represented by the Hebrew letter “bet,” which is associated with “house” or “building.” The letter Pey can mean “mouth,” so the decade is linked with the voice that's coming out of you. How are you speaking about what you're building in the future? What we build is so key for us to understand. The word ‘build’ also carries the idea of sons and daughters being added. At this time, the framework is developing over how you will secure your dwelling. This year, we are actually crossing over into our promise. You can have the Passover of Redemption just like the Hebrews had coming out of Egypt, but that whole generation never entered into their promise. It is possible to pass over from Egypt, but still not pass over into promise. That's an important concept for you to think about. In 2 Chronicles we find another example of crossing over … the Passover of Double Portion. You need to know there comes a time when your portion can increase, and God empowers you into a new portion for a new season. There's a Passover of Returning. Jacob had to pass over and return to all that he had left. He had run. He had been in hard labor for 20 years. He left his promise and he returned to his promise. There's a timeframe that we go through many times in our life where we must return to the ultimate plan that God had for us. Yeshua led us into the Passover of Fulfillment. The Lamb sacrificed on the cross created a fulfillment of all things for us. Fulfillment is a time word meaning everything is summed up and you fulfill your future. There's a Passover of Advancement. In Acts 12, we find that the Passover season was when the Church really began to advance. Peter was in prison and the angel led him out. You should always be conscious of the angelic at Passover that will cause you to advance. There's also a Passover of Threshing. All Passovers are linked to harvest, and we are in a harvest era. Recently, the Lord caught me up and showed me how Heaven is moving -- changing what is on the earth. The earth is going through much transition right now. I see the next three years as a great threshing time. That means wheat and chaff are being separated so that a greater harvest can come forth. This means the wind is blowing. The Lion of the Tribe of Judah is blowing from heaven and creating incredible threshing in the earth. Many nations are in the valley of decision and how they're making decisions now is how they will have vision for their future. How they're allowing themselves to be threshed and separated out to realign (or not align) with God's ultimate purpose is how the judgment will come in days ahead. Passing Over into Your Promise! I want to impart to you the Passover of Promise, the Passover of a new portion … a double portion. There was a totally different crossing when Joshua and the people crossed the Jordan River than when Moses led the people through the Red Sea. God was saying, “If you'll meditate on all that I've said to you in the past 40 years, you'll have success as you pass over and occupy the portion I promised over 400 years ago.” Remember, when they entered promised land everything changed. The way that the presence of God manifested in fire and cloud changed. Previously, provision had been coming to them from Heaven and all they had to do was pick it up. But now they were eating the produce of the land and the manna stopped. In the Passover of Promise, we go into a portion where we are causing an increase, just like in the Garden. We were meant to watch after the Garden, cultivate and increase it. The Passover of Promise is linked with watching after, cultivating, and increasing. Review the portion that you have right now. Review the promise that God has spoken to you and see what has never manifested that is necessary for you to come into that promise -- because that's where your war is ahead. War is intensifying because the Lion of the Tribe of Judah is blowing from Heaven and the dragon is rising up and blowing fire, trying to stop the new birth. This year of 2022 is important. Twenty-two is always linked with receiving the keys of revelation that are necessary for us to unlock the kingdom around us. Then once we unlock the kingdom, as the Lord prophesied in Matthew 16, we build the church for the future. You Have a New Portion! Let me close by talking to you about your new portion. Elijah had one portion that had been allotted to him by the Lord – to overthrow Jezebel. This was meant to change a whole nation. But Elijah fell to fear and ran before securing his portion. God had grace, and told him, ‘You're now going to have to anoint three people to complete what I promised you.’ That's a very incredible key in this Passover of Promise. There will be different anointings for different people. One of the people he anointed was Elisha. He dropped his mantle on him, but that mantle didn't become a reality for seven years. Elisha had to choose to follow and learn from Elijah for seven straight years. Then, when the time came, Elijah struck the Jordan River with the mantle, crossed over, and was caught up. He had told Elisha, “What is it you want from me?” Elisha said, “I want a double portion of what you have.” Elijah said, “If you'll follow me to the end, you'll receive it.” Elisha did see Elijah go up. Elijah’s mantle fell, and finally, it was Elisha’s mantle with the new double portion. He then had to cross back over the river into his mission and his promise. Know that we are a Kingdom people who are crossing over! I release over you the grace and vision to gain a new portion of anointing to cross over and secure the inheritance and the promise that has not yet been fully secured. What Does God Say about Christians and Politics (part 4) In the final post of this short series regarding government, I want to mention what is a confusing passage to many, Romans 13:1-5: “Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.” (Romans 13:1-5; NASB) This passage is often used to convince Christians they are not supposed to criticize people in government, that they must obey government unconditionally, and that everyone in a position of governmental authority was put in that position by God. That is not what the passage is saying. Let’s first look at the contention regarding everyone in government being placed there by God. This belief is built around the doctrine of God‘s sovereignty. He is sovereign, of course. The problem, however, comes from mis-defining what sovereignty means. It does not mean “to be in control of everything.” (I shared a post [October 11, 2021] on this subject which you can see here.) The word “sovereignty” means “all reign or authority.” God is sovereign, or has all authority, but He is not responsible for evil. He certainly is not in favor of wicked people in government and did not place them there. To contend that God puts people like Hitler in their position of power for some unknown reason, is an insult to God’s character. God confirmed that He doesn’t set up evil governments in Hosea 8:4, “They set up kings without my consent; they choose princes without my approval." This could not be clearer. Actually, God’s judgment of wicked rulers and removal of them in scripture is overwhelmingly obvious. At times He raised up leaders to overthrow evil governments, such as Moses, Ehud, Jephthah, Samson and Deborah. Hebrews 11:32-34 says, “For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises... became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.” Obviously, not all who are in positions of government were placed there by God. So what does this passage in Romans 13 mean? Paul was simply instructing believers in Rome to respect the institution God had raised up: government. When combining this passage with the remainder of Scripture, which we must always do, it becomes clear that our first responsibility is to obey God. When laws and commands of government contradict His laws, we do not obey them. Consider the following passage: “When they had brought them (Peter and the apostles), they stood them before the Council. The high priest questioned them, saying, ‘We gave you strict orders not to continue teaching in this name, and yet, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.’ But Peter and the apostles answered, ‘We must obey God rather than men.’” (Acts 5:27-29; NASB) David Howard, of Foxhole Ministry, states, “Christians are to follow what is lawful under God and to be subject to the authorities that God has established. When it comes to worldly institutions or governments, we submit so far as is lawful under God…God created the righteous concept of the institution of government and directed the people [under Moses] to create a representative government to honor God's laws and prevent disorder and anarchy. The caution is that Christians ‘…must (always) obey God rather than men.’ Therefore what is legal under man is not always lawful under God. Today, what is unlawful under God in America are abortion, gay marriage, political corruption, pornography, restricted prayer and the display of the Ten Commandments. Nothing made legal by government, which is unlawful under God, should Christians condone, hide or fail to expose. We are not silent, apathetic, struck down or delayed in our representation of Christ as ambassadors to the world. This is our appointed time to be the light and salt that speaks the word of God into the world. We have no fellowship with darkness, but we shrewdly expose it. (Paraphrased from Ephesians 5:11) We expose it by putting on the full armor of God to be Christ’s Ambassadors into the world so we may speak boldly, as we ought to speak. (Ephesians 6:10-20)”(1) History is filled with examples of this passage in Romans 13 being used inappropriately to silence good people, including Christians. Consider the following examples: “In July 1933, during Hitler’s first summer in power, a young German pastor named Joachim Hossenfelder preached a sermon in the towering Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, Berlin’s most important church. He used the words of Romans 13 to remind worshippers of the importance of obedience to those in authority. The church was festooned with Nazi banners and … flags, its pews packed with the Nazi Party faithful — including men in the brown shirts of the [Stormtroopers], the Nazis’ paramilitary movement.”(2) “Those upholding the Fugitive Slave Law in the 1840s and 1850s insisted that escaped slaves be returned to their masters, based on Romans 13. “Frederick Douglass, escaped slave and renowned orator during the Civil War once said, ‘I appear this evening as a thief and a robber. I stole this head, these limbs, this body from my master, and ran off with them.’”(3) Wow! “Beloved, I hope that as Christians we can all agree that the life of Jesus is one of freedom in Christ, not servitude to human powers. I hope we as Americans can agree that no particular iteration of our government is such a bearer of God’s will that its actions cannot be questioned. When an official of any government uses Romans 13 in this way, they claim divine authority in a way that is incompatible with both our freedom in Christ and the proper functioning of democracy. When this interpretation goes unchallenged, human tragedy always follows.”(4) Speak up, fellow believers, speak up. Pray with me: Father, our enemy will use anything possible to create passivity in the church, including our theology. We ask for You to bring understanding to us regarding any and every belief we have that creates passivity or complacency. Awaken the church to our high calling and privilege of partnering with You on earth, to accomplish good and stop evil. Through our prayers, decrees, and voices, we stand against evil in our nation. We oppose that which would try to remove You from our America’s government, education and public life. We bind the coordinated efforts of hell to bring down this nation. We ask You to continue shifting - and create an even greater shift - in our nation by continuing to expose ungodliness and impure motives. Arise, and see Your enemies scatter! And we remember to pray for our brothers and sisters around the world. We continue to ask for an end to the bloodshed in Ukraine. We ask You to work this for the good of revival and righteousness. We ask You to end the evil reign of Putin and free the people of Russia from the oppression there. We pray for worldwide revival in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, South America, Central America, and every island of the sea. We ask all of this in Christ’s name. Amen. What Does the Bible Say about Christians and Politics (part 3) When God said to me, “I am going to teach you about government, because I AM government,” it was quite a shock. Like many people, I had a great distaste for politics and government. He then quoted Isaiah 33:22 to me, “For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; He will save us.” Notice, the verse Holy Spirit quoted to me - Isaiah 33:22 - does not say God “endorses” laws, judges, and kings (i.e. government); it says He IS these things. Since God is our Lawgiver, Judge and King, these things, in and of themselves, cannot be bad. And most people are surprised to find out America’s three branches of government are based on this verse in Isaiah: The Legislative Branch (Congress), the Judicial Branch (Supreme Court), and the Executive Branch (Presidency). Our government is patterned after heaven’s! When truly thought through, it isn’t the concept of government that many of us dislike. We have government in our homes, businesses, churches - almost everywhere. The noun, “government” is defined as, “direction; control; management; rule.” The verb form, “govern,” means “to rule over by right of authority; to exercise a directing or restraining influence over; to guide; to have predominating influence.” As can be easily seen by these definitions, the concept of government is essential and created by God. To be without it is to have anarchy and, ultimately, untethered rebellion. What most of us dislike about government is actually the defilement and perversion of the function released through people and systems. This dislike is understandable. Although God is governmental; He is NOT, however, political. And He disdains a political spirit, the spirit that crucified Jesus! A political spirit seeks to gain control of people and promote its own agenda through fear, manipulation, deception, corruption, craftiness, and unscrupulous activities. God hates these things and so should we. If we could get all Christians to differentiate between government (the function), politics (the process of attaining government), and a political spirit (the perversion of the process for gain and control) it would change America. The church would have no qualms about becoming involved in government, and no hesitation in talking about it in our gatherings and circles. We would understand that we can promote righteous government without promoting political parties or being political in our services. God certainly is not a Republican or Democrat, and we should never blindly support a candidate or cause just because of party affiliation. He does, however, care who rules. “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn,” (Proverbs 29:2; KJV). The Passion Translation of this verse says, “Everyone rejoices when the lovers of God flourish, but the people groan when the wicked rise to power.” To stay out of government simply because some of it is bad, is as foolish as not governing our homes simply because some parents abuse and control their children. Since God does care who rules as His Word clearly states, how can it possibly be wrong for the church to influence the process? How can it possibly be inappropriate for the body of Christ to try and promote righteous individuals for positions of authority? How could it possibly be wrong to encourage church members to support righteous leaders and causes? How can we truly be salt and light without doing this? And how could it possibly be inappropriate to pray about these things when we gather as the church? To neglect these things is to fall prey to one of the greatest deceptions satan has ever visited on the church. Kermit Bridges of Southwestern A.G. University says: “In commanding us to be “salt” and “light” in the world, Jesus is encouraging us to influence our culture rather than isolate ourselves from our culture. Some well-intentioned believers feel any efforts to exert pressure on the behavior of non-Christians is wrong. “Anything beyond evangelism is off-limits. As a result, Christians should definitely not engage in politics. This thinking is characterized by the false assumption: ‘I personally believe in such and such, but I can’t impose my morality on others.’ “Every time a legislature enacts legislation, it is always an imposition of morality. “Laws against thievery impose the morality of the honest over the dishonest. Laws against prostitution impose a sexual morality. Declaring anything legal or illegal is a statement of morality. Legislation is built upon morality, and morality is built upon religion. “Founding Father, John Adams, our second president, declared: “‘[Our government is not] ‘capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion…Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.’ “Even our most irreligious Founding Fathers, Franklin and Jefferson, championed the need for a virtuous and moral people influenced by faith.” (1) “Listen to the counsel of the late Chuck Colson: “‘The popular notion that “you can’t legislate morality” is a myth. Morality is legislated every day from the vantage point of one value system being chosen over another. The question is not whether we will legislate morality, but whose morality gets legislated..”(2) David Clossom of the Family Research Council explains that believers must involve themselves in the process of government as a matter of responsibility and stewardship: “Because power resides with the people in our republic, when Christians vote, they are delegating their ruling authority to others. In other words, by voting, Christians are entrusting their ‘sword-bearing’ responsibility to officials who will govern on their behalf. Seen from this perspective, voting is a matter of stewardship; failure to vote is a failure to exercise God-given authority.”(3) Closson goes on to say we demonstrate our Christian love for others by doing so: “Further, given the United States’ far-reaching influence in the world, how can American Christians love the people of the nations well without having a vested interest in how our government approaches the issue of religious liberty and human rights worldwide? Will America’s ambassadors be stalwart defenders of religious freedom overseas? Christians who support missionaries should care about the state of international religious freedom, an area of advocacy in which the U.S. exerts significant influence. Will abortion, under the euphemism of ‘family planning,’ be funded overseas by American taxpayers, or will U.S. foreign policy value the life of the unborn? Again, American believers, by exercising their right to vote, have a direct say in these matters. “In light of these considerations, pastors should exhort their members to be involved in the political process and to vote. But voting is not enough. Pastors should also help educate and equip their members to think Biblically about moral issues, candidates, and party platforms.”(4) If we the church, are to become the voice God intends us to be, we need to shift our paradigms regarding government. We must see it as a God-created function, and accept our God-given calling to extend His influence through it. Pray with me: Father, Your Word tells us that when we are ignorant of the way satan thinks and operates, it enables him to take advantage of us (2 Corinthians 2:11). He is a master deceiver. But Your Word also tells us we have the mind of Christ. We ask for this to manifest in us through the spirit of revelation. We desperately need it in this season. Show us Your ways regarding transforming nations. Awaken us to our responsibilities and privileges as citizens of a free nation. Break off of the church the hesitancy to involve herself in government activities and influence. We ask You to remove ungodly and anti-Christian leaders from positions of government in our nation. Give us a president who is honest and will honor You and Your Word. Give us legislators who will do the same. And give us judges who respect our Constitution, and who fear and honor You more than anything else. We ask You to continue to shake things in our nation until the strongholds of humanism, secularism, and socialism are broken off of us. We ask You for the awakening to increase and multiply. We ask for revival in our schools, millions of young people coming to You. We ask for those who allow the evils of human trafficking and drugs being brought into our nation at the border to be removed. This is evil - we ask You to stop it. We ask You to break the back of Roe versus Wade. We need an overhaul, please give us this transformative revival, and please do so quickly. We ask You for all of these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our great and merciful Savior. Amen. Our decree: We decree that the church will no longer be paralyzed by a fear of operating in a political spirit. The Ekklesia will arise and become the salt and light we are called to be. What Does God Say about Christians and Politics (part 2) I was disheartened one day when I heard Holy Spirit clearly tell me He was going to teach me about government. This was a time in my life that I still had a distaste for government and knew very little about it. I could not have cared less about the process. My first thought was, “How boring! What have I done to deserve this punishment?” God’s next statement set me on my heels, “Because I AM government,” He said. He then quoted Isaiah 33:22 to me, “For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; He will save us.” I was so glad I didn’t tell God what I was thinking - in my mind I had just called Him boring!!! Though I’m about to share some theology and Hebrew words - it is a benefit to pastors and teachers who read the posts - don’t get bogged down in the theology and details. That part won’t take long. Here is where I’m headed with it: God IS government, He DELEGATES a portion of His government, and satan wants to USURP His government! Notice, the verse Holy Spirit quoted to me (Isaiah 33:22) does not say God simply “endorses” laws, judges and kings (i.e. government); it says He IS these things. As I stated yesterday, the Bible uses the word “Lord” 7946 times, most of them referring to Yahweh. My dictionary said “Lord” means “a person who has authority, control, or power over others; a master, chief, or ruler.” In other words, it includes government. This means that almost 8000 times the Bible refers to God as our governmental Head! The entirety of Scripture is about government! Think about it: one of the primary themes of the Bible is, “Who will rule the earth?” In the first chapter God gets right to the point: “I want family, and My family will ‘rule’ the earth (their home) for Me (Genesis 1:26-28). They will be the extension and expression of My Kingdom’s government there. This is how I will release My influence, My righteous Kingdom ideals and ways, into the earth.” That is true, and it is profound. The Hebrew word for “dominion” and “rule” in this Genesis passage makes clear that the Creator was delegating to Adam and Eve this responsibility. Radah means “to rule over, to govern.” Psalm 8:6, referring to this passage in Genesis, uses another word, mashal, which also means “rule or govern.” God would govern the earth through humans. But satan wanted this dominion. He had attempted a coup in Heaven and failed. Banished to earth, his thinking now was, If I can’t rule over God’s entire Kingdom, I’ll at least govern earth. And by chapter 3, he had succeeded in deceiving Adam and Eve, who rebelled from God’s authority and government. Satan took their authority. Yahweh lost His family and they lost their governmental authority over the earth. Satan now had it. Christ was sent to earth as the second Adam to reclaim both the family AND their governing authority. The story of the Bible is the clash of two kingdoms! From cover to cover God’s Word is about family and government! If I was satan, one of my most important strategies would be to alienate God’s family, His representatives and ambassadors from government. I’d tell them it’s bad, evil, unspiritual. Let ‘em love God, be His “sheep,” even His family. But 1) don’t let them know they’re His government here on earth (Christ’s Ekklesia), and 2) keep them from involving themselves in any and all government. If I could succeed in this, God’s conduit for releasing His authority on the earth would be rendered ineffective. Throughout the Scriptures, we can see God’s plan of ruling the earth through people. Consider Abraham, of whom it was said: “Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him. For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him” (Genesis 18:18-19). God determined to bless the entire earth through Abraham. To do so, however, He needed Abraham to command and teach His ways, releasing His justice and judgments into the earth. God also released His authority, His government, through Moses, Joshua, then through prophets and Judges. He also did so through Kings. Yahweh’s determined plan to release His authority through humans on earth was so consequential that at times entire nations were judged or blessed based on the actions of their government leaders. Think about it, entire groups of people were either cursed or blessed based on the actions of a government leader. More suffering on earth has taken place because of the actions of government leaders than for any other reason. Millions of people have been killed and persecuted because of government leaders. Poverty has overtaken nations because of government leaders. Cultures and people groups have actually been eradicated because of the actions of government leaders. Sixty million babies in America have been murdered since 1973 because of the actions of government leaders. And yet, the church embraces a belief that we who represent God’s will and plans on earth should stay out of this arena! We avoid government. When we gather as the church we believe we shouldn’t talk about it. The church feels we should say and do nothing to place into positions of authority those who know and honor God. This is ludicrous, and the ramifications are staggering. The thief, who came to steal, kill and destroy, is left in charge. We in America have been blessed with one of the greatest privileges in the history of nations: choosing our own government. Yet with this comes incredible responsibility. To forfeit this blessing is more than a waste; it is shirking our God-given responsibility of governing the earth for Him. When the right people are leading our nation, America becomes the greatest force for peace, safety and provision in all the world! We were one of the keys to saving the earth in its two world wars. We were the force that stopped communism around the world. We have become the leading force in health and medicine. God, and the world, must have a strong America. In order for there to be a strong America, however, there must be a strong and righteous government. The church must be freed from the deception causing us to withdraw from this process, and become involved at every level of government. We must. In tomorrow’s post we will talk about politics and the political spirit, part of the process satan has used to keep many in the church aloof from government. But it doesn’t have to. God is governmental, but He is NOT political. Pray with me: Father, our prayer today is that You teach us Your ways. We must understand Your plans and intentions for us, and for the earth. Ignorance causes us to forfeit so much. May the spirit of wisdom and revelation be taken to a higher level in the church. Teach us how to truly function as Christ’s Ekklesia. Teach we Americans, especially the American church, how to steward the incredible privilege of choosing our own government. Forgive us for relinquishing this right and thereby allowing evil to rule over us. Continue to help us see our government transformed into a God-honoring, life-honoring, Bible-honoring government once again. We have allowed evil into our government, but in Your mercy give us a quick turnaround. May the elections in November remove many who oppose Your ways, and see them replaced with those who honor You. Thank You for the awakening that is occurring in our nation. Let this awakening be both spiritual and civil, we pray. And we ask these things in Christ’s name. Amen.
