Big Plans for October I feel that October is stacking up to be a strategic month for our nation. Massive amounts of prayer, through various events and networks, are being planned. Many tuned-in believers are sensing just how strategic the present season is. I try to limit my travels to once or twice a month because of the tremendous challenge of writing daily Give Him 15 posts. I will be out five times in October, however, and that is likely to increase. Days off will be few and far between. But, as the familiar saying goes, desperate times call for desperate measures. (Prayers for strength appreciated.) A couple of those trips will be to D.C. for prayer gatherings. The first will be focused on the Supreme Court, a gathering hosted by my friend Phillip Jauregui, October 4-5. I join him annually for this very strategic event, which this year will take place at the Museum of the Bible. It is my honor to be the keynote speaker at the dinner on Monday night, the 5th. Many key leaders will also participate in this significant event, including my good friend Chuck Pierce. On my first visit to the Supreme Court 30 years ago, I heard Holy Spirit say, as clearly as I have ever heard Him, “Now I am going to show you where the strong man over America lives.” The words “strong man” were taken from the passage of Scripture in Matthew 12:29 and Mark 3:27. This did not mean that all of the Justices were evil, or that the institution itself was evil. It meant that satan had established a stronghold there from which to implement his plans to control our nation. Part of my assignment since that day has been to see the stronghold broken. I believe the Lord told me last year that the “strong man” has been bound and the stronghold is being dismantled. That does not mean, however, that all of the mindsets and ideologies represented on the Court have changed. It means satan no longer has the ability or right to rule our nation from there; his seat of authority has been removed. We must now do as these passages of Scripture instruct us and take “the spoils.” I believe this means praying fervently until constitutionally based (and biblical) ideologies fully control the Court’s decisions, as our Founders intended (which will include replacing some Justices). This has begun, but it is certainly not finished. As I stated in a recent post, I realize an event like this is not as exciting as one with tens of thousands of people on the Washington Mall. But I assure you, it is just as important. The decisions made by the Court will impact our nation for decades, perhaps centuries. Some of the current Justices on the Bench are in their 70s. Resignations and replacements will no doubt take place soon, making this a very critical season! I also realize this gathering is coming up rather soon; there is little time to plan, and trips to D.C. are not cheap. Nevertheless, I am once again urging some of you to consider joining us. Churches, send a “delegate.” Prayer groups/ministries, send an intercessor to help us. Not only will you/they help shift the Court, which will shift the nation, but participants will grow in their understanding of the High Court and what it takes to change it. And everyone, whether you can attend or not, please pray for this event. (Visiting and touring the amazing Museum of the Bible is worth a trip to D.C., in and of itself.) Let’s continue the prayer siege to consecrate America’s Supreme Court back to the Lord. (Go to JAGF.org and click on EVENTS for tickets and more information. Tickets are required.) Let’s Ask For Lightning One of the primary meanings of the Old Testament word for intercession (paga)(1) is “strike the mark.” Job 36:32 describes God filling His hands with lightning and commanding it to “strike the mark” or target. When Israeli soldiers hit a bull’s-eye in their target practice, they still shout, “Paga!” This analogy is used again in Habakkuk 3:4 (NASB): “His radiance is like the sunlight; He has rays flashing from His hand, And there is the hiding of His power.” Holy Spirit draws on this analogy yet again in the book of Revelation, when the prayers of God’s saints, stored in golden bowls, are used to release lightning into the earth (Revelation 8:3-5). A lightning bolt can be hotter than the surface of the sun! When God begins releasing His judgments and justice into the earth as bolts of lightning, He is very serious! We need spiritual lightning strikes, flashing from the very throne room of God, to hit the mark from now throughout the month of October. Let’s ask for His glory and light to be released into our nation, dispelling darkness and releasing His power, especially into our government and the upcoming elections. The impact on the Supreme Court could very well be one of the most significant aspects of this election. If one or more Justices resign while Trump is still president, he will, of course, nominate the replacement/s. But if Democrats take over the Senate, it will be very difficult, if not impossible, to confirm a conservative replacement. The stakes are high. Pray with me: Father, thank You for the breakthroughs that have occurred in the Supreme Court. We call on You, once again, the Ancient of Days and Supreme Judge of the earth, adding our prayers to the many that have been offered to shift the Court. YOU birthed America and our government. YOU instituted the concept of government. We ask that YOU bring the Court back under YOUR plans, purposes, precepts, and laws. You know who needs to go; please remove them. Change ALL that needs changing. Fill this branch of government and its headquarters with Your presence once again. Oversee the timing and decisions of all resignations and replacements to the Court. We ask that You do what Your Word says in Isaiah 1:26 (NASB): “I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning: After that you will be called the city of righteousness, A faithful city." Release Your lightning strikes into our nation. Hit the mark in D.C.; strike all three branches of our government with Your commands - Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. Judge the arrogant plans of those who oppose You, dismantling their evil systems, schemes, and networks. Make it clear that You are still Lord over the earth. Also strike in the statewide elections, bringing forth the miracle we need regarding our Legislature. And Lord, strike the strongholds of principalities and powers in the Middle East. Strike the wicked regime in Iran. Throw them into turmoil. Do it in a way that all Iranians know that Yahweh and His Son, Jesus, freed them from their oppression. Turn their hearts to You by the millions. We ask all of this confidently in the holy and all-powerful name of Yeshua. Amen. “We’re Looking to You” The midterms will take place in less than two months. Most reports give negative prospects for Republicans, the most conservative and God-honoring branch of our government, to maintain control of Congress. At this point, it looks like some sort of miracle will need to happen for this to occur. Most Americans are not yet wise and discerning enough to vote for biblical values; they still primarily vote their pocketbooks. The determining factor is typically not about the long-term health of the nation but how circumstances affect them personally. America is changing, but we are not yet transformed in this regard. And the media, as we know, feeds the fears and misconceptions of the American people. They are corrupt and will do or say anything to hurt Trump and help the Left: slant, distort, fabricate, twist, and lie. And, of course, the politicians on the Left lie and distort the truth as well. These two groups work in tandem. With all due respect to our President, who is working very hard to turn the tide in these elections, I don’t believe he is popular enough to do so. As I said, the election is more about people’s finances than about Trump’s overall policies and the long list of accomplishments he and Republicans have made. Without a solid anchor of truth, people change like the wind. Mooringless people are fickle people, ruled by feelings, comfort, pleasure, and personal desires. No, Trump’s rallies alone won’t turn the tide. We need a miracle. How might that happen? I don’t know. But we don’t need to know in order to ask for it. Jehoshaphat said in 2 Chronicles 20:12, when the odds against Judah were overwhelming, “O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.” The Message Version says, “We don’t know what to do; we’re looking to You.” Interpretation: “We need a miracle!” Does the saving of America depend upon these midterm elections? No. But the outcome could certainly cause delays and even open the door to more curses and judgments in our land. Past policies and unrighteous leaders have opened the door to abortion, gender confusion among our children, homosexual marriage, antisemitism, Islamists who want to take over our nation, open borders, unbridled fraud, rigged elections, emboldened enemies, and more. Change is now occurring, and we don’t want setbacks in the progress being made. Here are some guidelines for our prayers: Persevere in your faith. Remember that persevering in prayer is not begging and pleading until God finally gives in or is motivated to do something. It is a partnership with Him. God’s hovering and saving power is released through His words, yes, but also in conjunction with our persevering faith and prayers…agreeing with His will and declaring it into the earth realm: “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done!” (Matthew 6:10) “I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. And what you bind on earth will be bound in heaven” (Matthew 16:18-19) “Fight the good fight of faith; lay hold…” (1 Timothy 6:12) “You have not because you ask not…” (James 4:2) Don’t pray politically motivated prayers. Though ideals and morality are now sharply divided along party lines in America, our allegiance is nevertheless not to Republicans or Democrats; it is to righteousness and the purposes of God. Don’t pray selfish prayers. Although those in power influence our individual well-being, don’t let your motivation be personal comfort and happiness. Again, our desire should be rooted in righteousness and the purposes of God. Don’t put your faith in a man. Do not place your hope in Trump. I appreciate his desire to save America, but he is human, fallible, and NOT America’s savior. And don’t place your hope in any other person to save us. Don’t try to tell God how to do it. Just humble yourself before Him and ask for His intervention. Let’s do our part and ask. We don’t have to know what event or strategy God will use. For Judah and Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20, God’s answer was simply a worship gathering. For Joshua at Jericho, it was marching around the city for several days, following God’s specific instructions, then blowing the shofar and shouting (Joshua 6). For Elijah, needing rain after three years of drought, it was fervent prayer, seven times (I Kings 18). For the blind man Jesus healed, it was clay made with spit from Jesus, rubbed in his eyes, then washed out in the pool of Siloam (John 9). Our God is creative and likes surprises. We don’t need to know how the Lord might do this; we just need to ask Him for it. Today’s Prayer and Decree: Father, again today we ask You to involve Yourself in America’s upcoming midterm elections. We realize You aren’t political, but You are very governmental. It matters greatly to You who holds positions of power. We have allowed wicked people to rule our nation, and consequently, mourn the loss of our children to abortion, human trafficking, and drug-related deaths. We also mourn the extensive covenant-breaking, immorality, violence, and wickedness in our land. But we believe the powerful leaven of Your Kingdom is spreading in our nation and throughout the world. Your Kingdom rule is good news. It brings freedom, fulfillment, and wholeness. Awaken the church to be Your voice in every arena of life. You have taught us to partner with You, and that You work through us. Therefore, we ask You to move upon the hearts of Christians in America to vote, and to vote for those who represent biblical values. Motivate leaders to be a voice of truth to those whom they influence. We ask You to give wise, fruit-bearing strategies to those promoting righteous candidates. Give the candidates themselves wisdom and understanding. Expose candidates who promote evil. Cause them to make mistakes, and lose favor with voters. But most of all, we ask for Your miraculous intervention – we’re looking to You. And we continue to pray regarding the Middle East. We declare Your words that Jesus has been given all the nations as His inheritance (Psalm 2); the earth is His and the fullness thereof (Psalm 24); the government of Your Kingdom is on His shoulders (Isaiah 9:6), and all authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Him (Matthew 28:18). He defeated principalities and powers at the Cross (Colossians 2:15) and gave us authority to exercise that victory through His name (Matthew 16:18-19). We do so now, binding the spiritual powers of that region in Jesus’ name, and declaring that they have no right to further rule and control it. Please give our leaders wisdom as they finish dismantling the ability of the Iranian regime to terrorize, and spread violent Islamist rule. Free the people of Iran, send a powerful outpouring of Holy Spirit, and make that region a beachhead for the gospel into all of the Middle East. Let this begin the billion-soul harvest. A Sign in the Skies In early January 2025, the following happened three times. Meteorologists on TV talked about a phenomenon occurring out West, over the ocean. I suppose I may have heard of the phenomenon over the years, but I don’t remember ever hearing of it. The news reporters said a massive “atmospheric river” was building and would produce downpours, causing streams and rivers to rise and flood entire states. When I heard this, I thought, atmospheric river? That must be new terminology they’re using. It wasn’t. The term was actually coined in 1994 to describe these “atmospheric rivers,” which have always been a part of Earth’s weather system. An atmospheric river is massive and carries a vast amount of rain, though you can’t see it with the naked eye. It is a very real river in the atmosphere, so full of water it can flood states and nations. And it did, just as predicted. A Word from heaven A few months later, the Lord followed this up with a divine encounter. As I watched another weather forecast, I felt the Lord’s presence surrounding me, like I often feel when He’s giving me a prophetic word. It was as though I was wrapped in the Lord’s presence, and I knew He was showing me that a move of Holy Spirit is coming from heaven, a spiritual atmospheric river, and it will be greater than any in history. The river of God is being filled by this river and beginning to flow. Holy Spirit’s massive atmospheric spirit river is filling the heavens, and will begin releasing spiritual rain. It will swell the river of God and flood states, regions, and nations - the entire earth. I heard this from Heaven, and I felt the Holy Spirit prompting me to prophesy it to the nation and the world, which I began to do two weeks later, at our Prophetic Summit. I only gave part of the prophetic download at the Summit that night, and I have been waiting to give the rest of the word when I felt it was time for the outpouring to begin. I absolutely believe this is the time. The river in the atmosphere has begun to move. The flow will reveal God’s plan for the days ahead, and we must steward this with prayers and our decrees of faith. We must declare that the greatest ever move of God is now underway; that springs, streams, and Spirit rivers are building. This is part of the outpouring the Lord promised through the prophet Joel long ago: “After this I will pour out my Spirit on all humanity; then your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your old men will have dreams, and your young men will see visions. I will even pour out my Spirit on the male and female slaves in those days.” (Joel 2:28–29; CSB) Prophetic Word: Grace Winds Holy Spirit says to the Ekklesia: “You will now advance into the most supernatural movement I have ever led. I am anointing afresh, blending and synergizing the purposes, plans, and gifts birthed in all My previous movements. They will intersect with Godhead plans now activating in the great reformation. “They will merge and function with the new purposes, plans, and ministries for this supernatural Kingdom era. In the heavenly realm, atmospheric Spirit rivers have been rising as rains of Heaven have swelled them into torrential flows throughout the earth realm. It is the era when the river of God begins its flood stage through the Ekklesia. “For I declare, My remnant warriors will rise in great might in the ‘movement of My movements’ [greater than previous moves or God]. It will be seen in the ‘movement of My movements’ that it is the era for demons to tremble, not My heirs. “The Lord says, know and be confident, Ekklesia: Great winds of heaven will surely blow upon you as they did upon My first Ekklesia. Pentecost winds are stirring in the atmosphere. The mighty winds are building, historic winds. Holy Spirit winds will begin to blow upon the sons and the daughters. The winds will come and keep coming, one after another, wave after wave, each one stronger than the last, until full-blown power from heaven, ordained for your time, is experienced, until the full effects are felt all over the earth. “The outer bands are upon you. The sons and the daughters will be carried forth, borne on Holy Spirit winds. Their sails are filled with sustaining winds, prevailing winds, guiding winds, and refreshing winds. “They are not destructive winds. They are winds of grace blowing across harvest fields, ripened to harvest. They are grace winds carrying good news and the redemptive power of the King’s forgiveness. They are winds of great deliverance blowing away hell’s bondage, blowing away confusion, blowing away addictions. “Some who are addicted will find that, amazingly, the spring of God is springing up within them, and they’re free. Some have been plagued with disease for years, and suddenly, the spring of God is coming, and they’re healed. “My wind will blow away addiction, sin, brokenness, fears, and hopelessness; it will clear the mind of prodigals, lighting the way back home, lifting the demon fog. These are grace winds, carrying angel hosts for the time of reaping. “For the angel hosts, by the multiplied thousands, are in Holy Spirit’s atmospheric river. They are riding the winds of Holy Spirit into your times. They are grace winds, carrying angel hosts for the time of reaping; grace winds blowing in the harvest rains.” This is where we are. The winds are blowing in another season of the “latter rains” promised in Joel. We’re there. Pray with me: Father, we thank You for the atmospheric river of Your Spirit building over our nation and our world. We steward this word with prayer and with decrees of faith, and we ask You to cause the grace winds to blow across every harvest field You have prepared. Blow away addictions, blow away brokenness, blow away hopelessness, and light the way home for every prodigal. Cause the angel hosts to ride these winds into our cities. We ask for the greatest move of Holy Spirit the world has ever seen. And we declare, we are ready! In Jesus’ name, amen. Our decree: We declare that the atmospheric river of Holy Spirit is flooding the nations with grace, deliverance, and harvest — and we are in this moment now! What Is The Latter Rain? The prophet Joel prophesied of Holy Spirit’s latter-day outpourings. Historians say the latter rains are seven times greater than the former rains. The latter rains were the harvest rains that ripened what had been planted, causing the harvest to mature. For many years now, a billion-soul harvest has been maturing and ripening. The time is now. James wrote of this same rhythm of Heaven’s rain: “Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.” — James 5:7 (ESV) The early rain broke ground and caused the seed to sprout. The latter rain ripens the harvest and brings it to full maturity—and that is exactly where we stand now. Here is Joel’s promise: “Rejoice in the Lord your God! For the rain he sends demonstrates his faithfulness. Once more the autumn rains will come, as well as the rains of spring. The threshing floors will again be piled high with grain, and the presses will overflow with new wine and olive oil. The Lord says, ‘I will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts, the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts...’” — Joel 2:23–25 (NLT) Restoring What the Locust Has Eaten The Apostle Peter quoted this prophetic word on the Day of Pentecost, saying, “This is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel” — Acts 2:16 (KJV). The King James Version states verse 25 of Joel’s promise above as follows: “And I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm...” — Joel 2:25 (KJV). The cankerworm, caterpillar, and palmerworm are grub worms that eat the potential harvest. But Joel said that Holy Spirit’s rains are coming as downpours. This will cause the river of God to flow into the earth in such life-giving, massive flows that our lost harvests–stolen by hell, difficult times, or by other people–will be restored supernaturally for those who believe. Through this outpouring, supernatural restorations will come. It will activate supernatural, rapid redemption (as my daughter Rachel shares in our Glory River book). I don’t know how many harvests have been lost over the years, but it has to be a lot. In your own life, perhaps an expected harvest was devoured by misfortune, adversity, a person, or through demonic attack. Hear the promise of restoration now unfolding in this supernatural era. The Lord made a similar promise through the prophet Malachi: “Bring the full tenth into the storehouse so that there may be food in my house. Test me in this way, says the Lord of Armies. See if I will not open the floodgates of heaven and pour out a blessing for you without measure. I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not ruin the produce of your land and your vine in your field will not fail to produce fruit” — Malachi 3:10–11 (CSB). Rapid, Supernatural Restoration How encouraging that this era is about supernatural, rapid turnarounds! Holy Spirit is moving to restore what the enemy has devoured. Resources, inheritance, health, and relationships are now being restored in miraculous ways. We are being individually and corporately positioned for divine recovery, and we will flourish at new levels. Miracles of restoration and harvest will activate. Many of God’s faithful remnant will find themselves restored from devastating times and moving forward from years they thought were lost. God says no; they are not lost. “Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion; instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their lot; therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion; they shall have everlasting joy” — Isaiah 61:7 (ESV). The river of God is rising and rushing to heal and restore wasted years. With supernatural accelerations of power, deliverance, and restoration, we are moving into awesome days of promise. Artesian Wells Artesian wells and springs will burst forth in and through believers, and in gatherings of the King’s Ekklesia. Why artesian? Why do I use that term? Artesian means a deep source of pure water that bursts or springs forth, without having to be pumped. It surfaces, or erupts, because of the power within it. Holy Spirit is releasing bursts of living water through His power. The faithful remnant, the King’s Ekklesia, will find themselves receiving victories and deliverance in their lives that surface supernaturally. They will appear by the Lord’s miraculous power. These springs will be “suddenlies” of Holy Spirit coming forth from the great outpouring. Pray with me: Father, thank You for the latter rain that is falling. We receive Your promise of rapid restoration – that whatever has been lost, stolen, or eaten by locusts will be restored. We thank You for restored years, restored resources, restored relationships, restored bodies, and restored harvest. We receive this rapid, supernatural restoration and step forward into the flourishing You have promised. And Father, You restore not only individual lives but nations as well. Our nation has been ravaged by plagues released from hell, allowed by our sin and rebellion. Our faith, however, is in Your declaration that the blood of Jesus produces forgiveness and cleansing “from ALL sin and unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). Thank You for grace greater than our sin! And as You prepare the world for this restorative rain, we persevere in releasing the power of Holy Spirit into Iran and the Middle East. Release Your grace and salvation into that region; shock the world with the revival that erupts there. And the world needs a strong America. Continue to bring restoration in our government and across the land. Please give victory to righteousness and truth in the coming midterm elections. Stop all planned fraud! We pray all of these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen. The Generational Connection My good friend Larry Sparks just sent me an inspiring and encouraging report of what Holy Spirit is doing in the northwest part of our nation, specifically in the state of Washington. He was just there, speaking for an on-fire church that is experiencing the river of Holy Spirit with great intensity. God is bringing America full circle, but at a higher level! Many are not aware that the Charismatic and Jesus People movements of the 60s and 70s greatly impacted the entire West Coast of America - California, Oregon, and Washington. This has begun again and will only increase. It is critically important that we pray into this. We want what God does in this outpouring to supersede the previous in power, fruitfulness, and longevity. Here is some background and a few insights that will help us pray more effectively. The Generation Gap These two movements occurred in the late 1960s and throughout much of the 1970s, impacting North America, Europe, Central America, Australia, and New Zealand. I have always thought of them as two branches of the same movement, with one impacting the younger generation and the other, the middle-aged and older generations. While both were glorious and fruitful, they also revealed a significant breach between the generations. This division was commonly known as the “generation gap.” It was not caused by a single, uniform issue, but encompassed political beliefs, cultural tastes, social norms, and expectations about authority, education, and personal freedom. Sadly, this “generation gap” negatively impacted the fruit of this great two-pronged worldwide outpouring. The breach was caused by several overlapping phenomena: The educational system: College attendance surged in the 1960s and beyond. Known for radical ideas in philosophy, sociology, and political science, campuses became hotbeds of challenges to established norms about race, gender, class, morality, religion, and authority. Civil rights and anti-war movements: Many young people began questioning the legitimacy of older generations’ hierarchical structures and national decisions. This led to deep disillusionment among youth. Cultural revolutions: Popular music, art, literature, and media celebrated experimentation, sexual liberation, and nonconformity. The rise of rock and roll, folk revival, and the drug culture offered new identities and ways to resist conformity. Technological and media shifts: Television, film, and the mass availability of information allowed younger audiences to encounter diverse viewpoints and lifestyles, creating a sense of global connectedness and generational difference. Authority and traditional values came under scrutiny: Many parents and authority figures had grown up in more hierarchical, economically stable times. As their children embraced alternative lifestyles, dissent, and political activism, this generated distrust, conflicts over authority and discipline, and division. What were some of the outcomes of this? What did the lack of trust produce? Cultural transformation: The era reshaped popular culture—music, fashion, literature, and media—leading to more permissive attitudes toward sexuality, challenging authority, and celebrating individual expression. Political polarization and discourse: Debates around war, poverty, and social justice created lasting generational divisions between younger reformists and older traditionalists. Educational changes: Schools and universities became centers of indoctrination and activism. Long-term shifts in family dynamics: Shifts toward the family structure, feminism, reproductive rights, marriage, and contraception contributed to new family models and gender roles. At the same time, the idea that youth could and should define their own paths became more accepted. In summary, the 1960s and 1970s were a tumultuous period, and the generation gap became very significant. It arose from a convergence of diverse issues affecting family, education, politics, and culture. Younger people questioned established authority, challenged social hierarchies, rebelled from past standards, and demanded more freedom. The era reshaped American culture, intensified political discourse, and redefined family. How This Impacted the Movement This tumult and generation gap of the 1960s and 70s overlapped with the Jesus People movement, creating two extremes: a wonderful revival amid great turmoil. One costly tragedy of the time was that although multitudes of youth were saved, this did not heal the division, distrust, and deep generational separation. The young people who came to Christ brought with them their different music, dress, free-spiritedness, many of their political ideals, and more. Some of this was actually good and helped break down the existing religious boxes in the church built solely on tradition and preference, rather than Scripture. Contemporary Christian worship is but one example. Many older folks, however, did not like this, however, and resisted the change, wanting the status quo. Traditions, especially religious traditions, don’t change easily. The youth also brought much of their distrust and disrespect toward the older generation into the church. And, of course, many of the older folks reciprocated that lack of trust. Each wanted the other to change. The truth was that both generations needed to do so. Instead, the generation gap was brought right into this move of God, which was disastrous. Malachi 4:6 speaks of a curse associated with division between parents and children. (I realize many translations use “fathers,” not “parents,” but I believe the warning includes both fathers and mothers, as several other translations do.) The verse states: “And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.” KJV The Charismatic and Jesus People movements experienced the fruit of this curse Malachi spoke of, along with the rest of America. The traditions that come with age met head-on with the zeal of youthfulness. Rather than partnering and producing the explosive fruit God intended through generational synergy, the revival imploded. The older generation’s wisdom and experience couldn’t channel the passion and temper the inexperience of the young; the vision and fire of the sons and daughters couldn’t offset the rut of traditionalism and passivity in the elders. Many Joshuas couldn’t find their Moseses, Elishas their Elijahs, and Timothys their Pauls. And vice versa. Many of the old grew more stagnant, becoming old wineskins, unable to receive the new wine; many of the youth were captured by false doctrines and built ministries on weak foundations. And much potential fruit for the Kingdom of God was lost. The Third Great Awakening My prayer and faith are that this breach will not exist in the coming revival. For this to be the case, two significant things will have to happen: We of the older generation will need to listen and advise with humility. Our vision, ways, and methods - of necessity - will not be those of the young. They’ll have God-given dreams and visions, fiery zeal, and fresh creativity. And we must allow them to dream and innovate. They will need our wisdom, yes, but not stubborn, stagnant, how-we-did-things reminders. The young generation must also listen with humility. Youthful zeal is incomplete without the wisdom that comes only with time. In the Jesus Movement, my generation didn’t know what we didn’t know, which is always a danger for the young. Wisdom comes only through experience and seasoned revelation, not new revelation. God-given dreams and vision for the future, and Holy Spirit-sent fire are not enough to generate 100-fold fruit and long-term reformation. Wisdom must be in the mix. Believe with me for this synergistic generational alignment in the coming move of God. Pray with me: Father, in the coming revival, we want Joshuas to lead with the strength of their Moseses, Elishas to move in the double portion anointing of their Elijahs, and Timothys to build with the wisdom gleaned from their Pauls. You said Joshua had the spirit of wisdom because Moses laid his hands on him (Deuteronomy 34:9). You said Elisha received the mantle of Elijah (2 Kings 2:13). You told us that Paul laid hands on Timothy and gave him spiritual gifts (2 Timothy 1:6). Release these connectional impartations many times over in our day. No more generation gaps! Those days are over. We pray that the elders will lead with humility, wisdom, and the flexibility of new wineskins. And we ask that young people who come to Christ in this great awakening can grow quickly. Break off any and all mindsets that would hold back either generation. Free the young ones from all addictions, gender confusion, deceptions, and wrong ways of thinking. Cause both generations to be truly Christ-like, demonstrating the fruit of Your Spirit in abundance, and experience the greatest revival ever. We pray all of this in Jesus’ name. Our decree: We decree that the hearts of the fathers and mothers are turning to the sons and daughters, and the sons and daughters are turning their hearts to the fathers and mothers. Introduction Today, our friend Gina Gholston shares a kairos(1) word with us. Holy Spirit has given her a challenge and an invitation we all need to hear. He Is Blowing on the Embers In 1 Kings 19, the Lord revealed to Elijah that he must obey His command to anoint the one who would succeed him. This man was a farmer named Elisha. As Elijah walked into the field, Elisha was plowing with a yoke of oxen. As he was minding his own business and leading his normal life, Elisha had no idea things were about to change. Locked inside this farmer were seeds of prophetic purpose that God needed. Seeds that had been reserved and preserved for a specific time now entered their kairos season and were about to be awakened to bear fruit. In verse nineteen of this chapter, we see Elijah walk by Elisha and drop his mantle on Elisha’s shoulders. As he did, a prophetic identity Elisha did not even know he carried was instantly awakened. Recently, as I was reading this biblical account, I heard the Lord say, “You have entered a pivotal moment of awakening.” I was then reminded of something I once heard Holy Spirit say, and I knew it was a word for now. He said to me, “I am releasing a flow of My power that will awaken and commission My called-out ones, My for-such-a-time-as-this ones! It is not an awakening as though they are asleep, but I will awaken that which I have placed in them! I will now breathe on and activate the seeds of purpose that I placed into this ‘called-out’ company. They will rise, and I will send them out with power and strategy to fulfill my purposes.” I sense we are now in a season when God is focusing on the Ekklesia. The seeds of purpose which have lain dormant are now becoming necessary. Holy Spirit is breathing on these seeds, awakening them to produce a harvest. As with Elisha, so it is with many of us. Some things are being awakened that we didn’t know we were even carrying. However, I sense that it’s time, and our response must be obedient trust as God positions us for the future. I recall a dream from Holy Spirit where God illustrated how His Spirit has moved through time, and how each generation has a specific piece, a necessary part of His plan. In the dream, I saw a lady explaining what we were seeing and experiencing. We felt a wind stirring around us, and she became very excited! She then began saying, “The wind is blowing again! Hold out the embers that you carry! Let them be reignited by the wind!” The wind grew stronger, and each one of us reached inside ourselves and pulled out an ember. We held it in front of us, and the wind quickly reignited it. The ember grew hot in our hands, but each of us held on, determined not to let it fall to the ground. Each was committed to doing our part and fulfilling His purpose assigned to us. Some ladies came to us, and like seamstresses with measuring tapes, they began measuring us. I asked what was happening, and the lady said, “You are each being fitted for the new garments you will wear in the days to come.” Then she said, “And your time . . . begins . . . now!” I believe this is our time on the timeline, and the wind of Holy Spirit is blowing. The Lord is “dropping His mantle” upon us to awaken the gifts we need so He can launch us into our destinies. To all who will allow Christ to ignite and activate that which He has entrusted us to carry, I hear Him saying: “You have entered your time of My divine purpose and destiny! You will begin to see things unfold that will surprise you and even cause you to ask, ‘God, what is this?’ You will find signs that alert you that you are indeed in a new place, a new season. But do not fear, for I will guide you! Don’t follow your emotions; they are not trustworthy. Trust Me as I order your steps. Listen for My instructions and free yourself to obey Me instantly (instant obedience). Focus forward, not behind, and not inward. There is much to be done. We are in a vital season, and I am fulfilling My word. I need you to stay alert. Watch Me, trust Me; obey Me. “Divine connections are beginning to happen. I am opening new paths! Ideas are coming! You prayed prayers thinking they were for the moment you prayed them, but I set My plan in motion. My plans are coming together. Now, you are entering the time of your ‘defining moment.’ Get ready; things will begin to happen quickly. Stay above the fray so you can hear and see from My perspective, My vantage point. Move with instant obedience as I lead you forward!” I believe we are stepping through a door into a major kairos moment. It’s time for us, the Ekklesia, to wear the garments He gave us. God knows the gifts we carry; He put them in us. He now requires us to step beyond the familiar and move forward into what He has prepared. Hear Holy Spirit as He declares to us: “Hold out your ember. . . . The wind is blowing!” Pray with me: Father, in this critical moment, we come boldly before Your throne of grace to receive divine wisdom and instruction from You that will enable us to rightly navigate the future. We yield our lives to You, and we declare that the seeds You sowed into us will now spring forth and bear fruit of Your purposes! We rise above the noise of the chaos surrounding us—and even above the influence of our own emotions—and we place our focus on You. We listen for Your instructions, and we will obey You swiftly. A New “Day of Infamy” Twenty-five years ago today, 19 Al-Qaeda terrorists conducted a series of attacks on America in what remains the deadliest single terrorist incident in world history. Using hijacked planes, they flew them into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City at 8:46 a.m., the South Tower at 9:03 a.m, and the Western facade of the Pentagon at 9:37 a.m. A fourth plane crashed into an open field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, at 10:03 a.m., after brave passengers fought back against the hijackers to regain control of the plane, preventing it from striking its intended target in Washington, D.C. (believed to be the U.S. Capitol or White House). Both 110-story Twin Towers collapsed within less than two hours of impact, causing massive destruction across the World Trade Center complex and taking thousands of lives. In total, the attacks by the radical Islamist terrorists claimed 2977 innocent lives that Tuesday morning. What many Americans do not know is that more people have now died from illnesses related to 9/11 than died during the attacks. An estimated 8,200 people have died from 9/11 related illnesses, primarily cancers and respiratory or digestive conditions. While 343 firefighters were killed on 9/11, over 360 additional firefighters have since died from toxic exposures incurred that day. An estimated 410,000 first responders, cleanup crews, residents, and office workers were exposed to over 400 tons of pulverized dust, asbestos, heavy metals, glass, and jet fuel combustion products. Official death tolls continue to rise each year as illnesses progress. The attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941, a day President Franklin D. Roosevelt referred to as “a day that will live in infamy,” met its match on September 11, 2001. The world changed forever that day. I remember it well, as do many Americans. It seemed surreal as we watched it unfold on our TVs., like watching a horror movie made in hell. A dust cloud descended over New York, and a cloud of shock and depression settled over our entire nation. Confusion, gloom, anger, and despair spread from coast to coast, followed by a deep resolve to see justice come to those responsible. I was scheduled to fly to Boise, Idaho, that upcoming weekend for a conference, but all air travel was immediately halted, and it seemed unlikely I’d make it. Planes resumed flying on Friday, though, and I made it to Boise that afternoon. I didn’t really want to be there. Like everyone else, I was in mourning and had no idea what to say. It seemed as though the only appropriate message would be that of a funeral. I wasn’t the only person not yet ready to travel. The large plane was empty, except for the crew and two or three of us passengers. Very few words were spoken; no one knew what to say. My conversation on the plane was with the Lord and revolved around what I would say in my message later that evening. An it’s-gonna-be-okay pep talk would not only have been fruitless, but completely inappropriate; a general teaching would’ve been crushed by the weight of oppression I knew would be in the room; and I certainly had no prophetic word regarding the future. My prayer was very simple: “Lord, please help me. I have no idea what to say to these people tonight. I am as confused, angry, and distraught as any of them.” To my surprise, the building was full. I suppose I should not have been - everyone was looking for answers. I began my message still wondering what to say, and I have absolutely no recollection of how I began or what I was saying. Nor does it matter, because very shortly into the message, Holy Spirit took over. In an open vision, I saw the hand of God writing in large neon letters on the back wall of the church, which, of course, I was facing. He wrote: “Acts 3:19.” I knew what this verse said: “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, and the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” Startled, I remember thinking: Holy Spirit obviously wants me to go to this passage. (I know - that was very discerning!) So, I will finish this thought - whatever it was! - and then refer to this verse. The writing on the wall began flashing on and off. Interpretation: I don’t want you to finish your thought. Go there now! I stopped what I was saying, told them what I was seeing, and quoted the verse. I commented on the Greek word for refreshing, which literally means “the blowing of breath or wind, again.” It is speaking of the wind or breath of Holy Spirit being released, just as occurred on the day of Pentecost. After saying this, I went into another vision that lasted several minutes and was very detailed. I saw fires of revival sweeping through America’s campuses. The revival I saw was intense, producing thousands, if not millions, of salvations, miracles, and deliverances among the students. It was student-led, uncontrolled, and unstoppable. It was messy… and it was glorious. I narrated the vision as I saw these things happening; the people simply listened, spellbound by what Holy Spirit was saying. The message was clear: America would experience further repentance, but at some point, God would begin releasing His breath, pouring out His Spirit in our nation, beginning with the young people. Many high school and college students in the room ran to the altar and began crying out to God for this revival. The grief of 9/11 was not erased, but we left the service with hope. As you listen to speeches today and remember the losses of that horrible day, remember also that the evil actions were not the final word. The revival I saw that day has begun. I thought of this as I watched the entire Ohio State football team kneel in prayer on the field before last Saturday’s opening game. Over the past couple of years, thousands of students on college campuses have come to Christ and been baptized, publicly declaring their faith. This is only the beginning. America shall be saved… and it is beginning with our young ones. Pray with me: Father, as we remember today those who fell on 9/11/2001, we pray for the families that still grieve and the individuals who still suffer physically. Heal the painful memories and help those with diseases overcome them. Bring healing to spirits, souls, and bodies. And we thank You that the revival You announced that week has begun! Increase its momentum, we pray. Release the wind! Prayer Regarding Iran Lord, we know evil will continue to exist on earth until Yeshua returns and eradicates it once and for all. Until then, wicked rulers sometimes become so evil and demonized that they have no regard for life, even that of their own people. Their lust for dominance and power becomes all-consuming. Such is the case in Iran. The radical Islamist regime is happy to sacrifice millions of Iranians in order to stay in power, dragging out the conflict as long as necessary in order to remain in power. But we are not looking to physical weapons alone to end their rule. We stand in faith, asking for and believing that supernatural power is being released to end their reign of terror. We decree that the evil government will fall, millions more Iranians will be saved, a beachhead for the gospel will exist there, and millions of Middle Easterners will come to Christ. The Midterms We also pray that You confound the experts in the coming midterms; do not allow this war and the temporarily high gas prices to generate victory for the godless left. Rise up and scatter Your enemies. Awaken Americans to the bigger picture; remind them that the long term consequences of these elections far outweigh any temporary inconvenience. Give us supernatural help to keep Congress in the hands of those who honor You and are transforming America for the better. We ask all of these things in Jesus’ name. Amen. Who Will Rule the Earth? With the midterms approaching, it is of paramount importance that believers and congregations pray for righteous, God-honoring candidates to win Congressional seats. Failure to pray for government as instructed in 1 Timothy 2:1-4 is without doubt one of the greatest sins of the American church. Years ago, I was surprised when I heard Holy Spirit say He was going to teach me about government. This was a time in my life when I had a distaste for government and knew very little about it. I couldn’t have cared less about its functions and processes. My first thought when hearing Him was, “How boring! What have I done to deserve this?” God’s next sentence set me on my heels: “Because I AM government.” He then quoted to me Isaiah 33:22, “For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; He will save us.” I was so glad I hadn’t told God what I was thinking - in my mind, I had just called Him boring!!! Notice that the verse Holy Spirit quoted, Isaiah 33:22, does not say simply that God endorses or uses the concept of laws, judges, kings, and government. It says He embodies them. God IS our Judge, our Lawgiver, and our King. No doubt about it: God is government. The concept and function of government, therefore, is good, not evil. The Scriptures also tell us that God delegates His governmental rule on earth to people. In the first chapter of the Bible, God gets right to the point: “I want family, and My family will ‘rule’ the earth (their home) for Me (Genesis 1:26-28). They will be the extension and expression of My Kingdom’s government there. This is how I will release My influence, My righteous Kingdom ideals and ways, into the earth.” That statement is true, inarguable, and profound. The Hebrew words for “dominion” and “rule” in this Genesis passage make clear that the Creator was delegating this governmental responsibility to Adam and Eve, and the family they would multiply. Satan, however, wanted this dominion. He had attempted a coup in heaven and failed. Banished to earth, his thinking now was: If I can’t rule over God’s entire Kingdom, I’ll at least govern the earth and His family there. And by chapter 3, he had succeeded in deceiving Adam and Eve, who rebelled from God’s authority and government. Satan took their authority, Yahweh lost His family, and they lost their governmental authority over the earth. Satan now had it. Christ was sent to earth as the second Adam to reclaim both the family AND their governing authority. And He succeeded! Then He recommissioned us to exercise His ruling authority (Matthew 16:18-19; 28:18-20). If I were satan, one of my most important strategies would be to alienate God’s family from government. I’d tell them it’s bad, evil, unspiritual. Let ‘em love God, be His “sheep,” even His family. But don’t let them know they’re His representatives and ambassadors here on earth (Christ’s Ekklesia). Work to keep them from involving themselves in any and all government. If I could succeed in this, God’s conduit for releasing His authority on the earth would be rendered ineffective. Throughout Scripture, we see God’s plan to rule the earth through people. Consider Abraham, of whom it was said: “Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him. For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him” (Genesis 18:18-19). God determined to bless the entire earth through Abraham. To do so, however, He needed Abraham to command and teach His ways, releasing His justice and judgments into the earth. God also released His authority and government through Moses, Joshua, and then through prophets, judges, and kings. Yahweh’s determined plan to release His authority on earth through humans was so literal and consequential that many times, entire nations have been cursed or blessed based on the actions of their government leaders. Think about that: entire populations have been cursed or blessed based on the actions of a government leader! More suffering on earth has come from the actions of government leaders than from any other cause. Millions of people have been killed and persecuted because of government leaders. Government leaders have caused poverty to overtake nations. Cultures and people groups have actually been eradicated because of the actions of government leaders. Sixty-seven million babies in America have been murdered since 1973 because of the actions of government leaders. And yet…many in the church embrace a belief that we who represent God’s will and plans on earth should stay out of this arena! When we gather as the church, we shouldn’t talk about it. Many believe that, as a corporate entity, the church should say and do nothing to place those who know and honor God in positions of authority. This is insane, and the ramifications are horrific. The thief, who came to steal, kill, and destroy, is given control. We in America have been blessed with one of the greatest privileges in the history of nations: choosing our own government. Yet this privilege comes with incredible responsibility. To forfeit this blessing is more than a waste; it is shirking our God-given responsibility of governing the earth for Him. When the right people are leading our nation, America becomes the greatest force for justice, peace, safety, and provision in all the world! We were instrumental in saving the earth during two world wars. We have preserved the world from the control of communism. We have become the leading force in health and medicine. God and the world need a strong America. In order for there to be a strong America, however, there must be a strong and righteous government. The church must be freed from the deception that causes her to withdraw from this process and become involved at every level of government. We must. This is not theocracy or Christian Nationalism; it is common sense, it is biblical, and it is LOVE. Pray with me: Father, awaken the church to Your plans and intentions for us. Ignorance causes us to forfeit much. May the spirit of wisdom and revelation be taken to a higher level in the church. Show us the need and teach us how to truly function as Christ’s Ekklesia. Instruct us how to better steward the incredible privilege of choosing our own government. Forgive us for relinquishing this right and thereby allowing evil to rule over us. Continue to help us transform our government into a God-honoring, life-honoring, Bible-honoring government once again. Though we have allowed evil into our government, in Your mercy, give us a rapid turnaround. Thank You for the godly leaders we have in our government; please give us what is needed to increase this in the upcoming midterm elections. We ask these things in Christ’s name. Amen. It’s Time to Hope Again Since many who watch the daily Give Him 15s are women, we thought it might be good for me (Ceci) to take a day and share with you. As women, we process things a little differently than do men. Where men can compartmentalize and focus on one thing at a time, for us, everything from the different compartments run together; each affects the other. In the situation regarding the election, what happened wasn’t what we expected, or at least, not what we hoped for or what we were praying for. We are faced with quite a few emotions. As women, because we do not compartmentalize as men do, we start to wonder how things will now affect our lives - what’s going to change, how it will affect our children’s lives, and even possibly, the lives of our grandchildren. What we have to guard against is hope deferred. Here is a likely progression of unchecked hope deferred: Discouragement Confusion - we begin to question ourselves, dreams, words from God, and even His promises to us Unbelief - this is experienced when hope is lost and expectations are gone; was God teasing us? (Of course, we know that it is not in His nature, but when we are being honest, we go there.) Disillusionment - which usually involves questioning even the character of God. Bitterness - with deep feelings of resentment we blame God, others, the prophets, our spouse, our parents, and maybe even ourselves Cynicism - a complete loss of faith and hope If you find yourself as I described above, what do you do? Maintain Proper Perspective. Perspective is critical when it comes to emotional pain, it isn’t what happens to you that controls you and ravages your heart. Rather, it is what you believe about the situation that controls you. Take a step back. Tell yourself the truth. God is going to take care of you. He’s going to take care of your family, your job, your children. God does not tease or trick His children. He is faithful and His faithfulness to us never changes. Draw Near to God. Spend time in His word. Psalms 107:20 tells us God’s word is actually a medicine and can heal your heart. The psalmist David drew near to God for victory over hope deferred. Use Psalm 27 or perhaps even compose one of your own to draw near to the Lord. If you quieten your soul and draw near to Him during your time of pain, of which simple worship and devotion are 2 keys, you can begin to experience change. Speak to Your Heart. Declare over yourself what God says about you - that you have peace, joy, hope, and a healthy heart - even when circumstances still seem to contradict Him. “But the fruit produced by the Holy Spirit within you is divine love in all its varied expressions: joy that overflows, peace that subdues, patience that endures, kindness in action, a life full of virtue, faith that prevails, gentleness of heart, and strength of spirit.” (Galatians 5:22-23 TPT) Embrace Biblical Faith. In spite of what you feel or what circumstances tell you, choose to believe what God’s word says. Faith isn’t positive thinking, denying the reality of your circumstances; faith is denying these circumstances the right to remain in control of your thoughts, your words, your hope, your life. Exalting God above your situation changes your perspective. Apply the Power of Hope. Psalm 103.8; 9:9-10, 33:18-22; 138:7; 89:1-2; Romans 5:5; 8:38-39; Jeremiah 31:3; 29:11; Isaiah 40:29, 31; John 8:36; 1 Corinthians 6:19; 1 Timothy 1:7; Philippians 4:13; 1:6; Romans 8:31; Ephesians 1:7; 2:6, 10; 1 Peter 2:4, 9 In Dutch’s book, The Power of Hope, he tells the story of a family in the Arizona desert: One night a fierce desert storm struck with rain, hail, and high wind. At daybreak, feeling sick and fearing what he might find, Samuel went to survey their loss. The hail had beaten the garden into the ground; the house was partially unroofed; the henhouse had blown away and dead chickens were scattered about. Destruction and devastation were everywhere. While standing dazed, evaluating the mess and wondering about the future, Samuel heard a stirring in the lumber pile that was the remains of the henhouse. A rooster started climbing up and continued until he had mounted the highest board in the pile. That old rooster was dripping wet, and most of his feathers were blown away. But as the sun came over the eastern horizon, he flapped his bony wings and proudly crowed. When the morning sun appeared on the horizon, that beat-up, featherless rooster - amidst all the chaos and devastation - still crowed, announcing the beginning of a new day. Why? Because it was his nature to do so. Winds of adversity may be blowing through our lives and we feel our part of the world is falling apart. But if we will look closely, we will see the light of God’s faithfulness shining through the debris. And we can rise above the disillusionment because it is our nature to overcome! This is what God says about us in Romans 8, taken from The Message Bible. It is laced with the power of hope. “Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not back-stabbing, not even the worst sins listed in scripture...None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing - nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable - absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.” (Romans 8: 35-39) I say to you, you are going to climb up out of the debris, flap your bony wings, and announce to the world that you’ve entered a new day. Why? Because deep within your DNA you can do this; you are an overcomer. Friend, it’s time to trust again, it’s time to hope again. A prayer you can pray: Father, we thank You that You know our hearts even when we can’t see clearly. Your love for us never changes. Even when we seem to lose hope and don’t know what to say to You, we know that You are faithful. You are Jehovah Shalom, our peace, Jehovah Rapha - the One who heals our heart. You are El Shaddai, the One Who has power over all, Elohim - strong, mighty, but full of compassion. We choose to believe Your truths that You watch over us, You are good, faithful, merciful, You cannot lie, You’re my Strong Tower, my Refuge, and my Strength. Lord, I ask You for Your peace and Your strength. I trust that You hold my times and my seasons in Your hands. Today I choose to run into Your loving arms and allow Your wrap-around presence to comfort and sustain me. Lord, we will not waver in our faith but choose to stand firm, believing Your truths. We hold onto Your promises for us personally, and for America. We ask You to visit us with Your Holy Spirit - sweep across our land, shine the light of Your truth and drive out all darkness. We choose to be Your instruments of love and compassion while carrying the torches of truth and justice. Breathe Your hope across our hearts and our land today. In Jesus’ name. Amen. He Gives Strength to the Weary While listening to a high-ranking, conservative, national government leader speak for a few minutes on Monday night, I could sense the weariness he and those alongside him were experiencing. He was not complaining, mind you; he was just reporting on things in our nation and government. As I listened, Holy Spirit brought to my memory a phrase in Judges 8, verse 4: “...weary, yet pursuing” (NASB). Before we expound on this, let’s look at the context of this verse. It is the story of Gideon and his leadership in delivering Israel from the oppression of the Midianites. Because of Israel’s rebellion against Yahweh and their worship of Baal, they had been oppressed by Midian for seven years (Judges 6:1-7). The seven-year period of time is significant. In Scripture, the number 7 is uniquely related to covenant. Why? Because this number symbolizes completeness or fullness, and when entering into covenant, both parties are swearing full or complete allegiance to the covenant. In fact, the Hebrew words “oath,” “swear,” and “seven” all come from the same Hebrew word (shaba), because the oath being sworn to is completely binding. Because of this symbolism, the oath was often repeated 7 times and referred to as “sevening oneself.”(1) This connection between covenant and the number seven is why God often used the number when releasing judgments against Israel for breaking covenant with Him and aligning themselves with false gods: seven years here in Judges 6, seventy years in Jeremiah 25, for example. In doing so, He was demonstrating the reason for the judgment: “You broke covenant with Me and sevened yourself to other gods.” The number seven also appears in Scripture at times when Israel repented and God could re-covenant the nation to Himself. Such was the case later in this passage, as we will see in a moment. Gideon’s Calling In chapter 6, God commissioned Gideon to lead the effort to end the seven years of judgment and oppression coming from Midian. But before doing so, God gave Gideon an important and significant assignment: “And it came to pass the same night, that the Lord said unto him, Take thy father’s young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it: And build an altar unto the Lord thy God upon the top of this rock, in the ordered place, and take the second bullock, and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down. Then Gideon took ten men of his servants, and did as the Lord had said unto him.” (Judges 6:25-27 KJV) The village shrine to Baal was in his father’s backyard! God told Gideon that the breakup with Baal would have to begin by tearing down this altar. And notice the specific instructions the Lord gave him. “Take thy father’s young bullock, even the second bullock of SEVEN years old…and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the grove which thou shalt cut down.” A seven-year-old bull! God was clearly saying to Gideon, “Break the covenant with Baal and re-establish covenant with Me!” Gideon did so, then with an army of only 300 men, soundly defeated the large Midianite army. And as he and his men were driving this enemy from their land, Judges 8:4 tells us the Israelites were “weary, yet pursuing” - the phrase Holy Spirit gave me Monday night. America Today This is an amazing picture of what is happening in America today. We are being delivered from our agreement, our covenant with Baal, and restored to covenant with the Lord. Christ’s followers have - and continue to - tear down the spiritual altars of Baal in our land, and rededicate our nation to Him. And although we are winning, many on the front lines of this battle are indeed weary - understandably so. The battle for the soul of America is very intense. Some are being required to lay their lives down for this cause, giving of their time, energy, and strength. This is true of government leaders, as well as many intercessors who faithfully war in the spirit to turn our nation back to God. They all need supernatural empowerment. And God wants to do this! As I listened to this government leader on Monday night, sensing his weariness, Holy Spirit reminded me of Daniel 10:18-19, when an angel was sent to impart strength to Daniel. In Luke 22:43, the same thing occurred with Jesus in Gethsemane; an angel came and ministered strength to Him. I’m confident I heard the Lord say, “Ask Me to do this for leaders and intercessors today.” Then He gave me Isaiah 41:10-13 (KJV): “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of naught. For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.” He will do this today! He also took me to the previous chapter, Isaiah 40:28-31 (KJV): “Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Pray with me: Lord, we are told we can do all things through You, who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). The Psalmist said that when we trust in You, You help us (Psalm 28:7). As we pursue restoration for America, our bodies sometimes grow weary. But we place our full trust in You and accept Your supernatural impartation of strength. We ask for strengthening angels to be sent to those of whom so much is required. We ask this for President Trump, Speaker Johnson, Secretaries Rubio, Hegseth, and others. You know who needs this, Lord. And now we decree the two passages from Isaiah You gave me regarding this. (Isaiah 41:10-13 and 40:28-31) “‘Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Behold, all those who are angered at you will be shamed and dishonored; those who contend with you will be as nothing and will perish. You will seek those who quarrel with you, but will not find them; those who war with you will be as nothing and non-existent. For I am the Lord your God, who upholds your right hand, who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’” (Isaiah 41:10-13 NASB) “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly. A New Book! According to a study reported in the May 2010 issue of Atherosclerosis, participants who were persistently depressed had a twofold increased risk of narrowing of the arteries. The study took place over a period of ten years, with participants being assessed for depression symptoms at least three different times during that ten-year period.(1) This is the same magnitude of increased risk that one sees in comparing a pack-a-day smoker to a nonsmoker.(2) Incredible. Hopelessness, if not checked, destroys lives. A recent study in the British Medical Journal confirms this, reporting that people with serious depression were two-thirds more likely to die prematurely; even those with mild depression had a 16 percent higher risk of dying compared to individuals who were distress-free.(3) We can die from sorrow! God told us this long ago. Proverbs 13:12 says, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but desire fulfilled is a tree of life.” Most of us think only of our emotional or spiritual heart when we read this, but science is now proving that the verse is true of physical hearts as well. Hope deferred creates a diseased heart, both emotionally and physically; and with a diseased heart, no one can run life’s race effectively. “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,” we are exhorted in Hebrews 12:1. Lack of endurance, however, is one of the first results of heart issues. We may run, but we won’t run far. The loss of hope is crippling, making us little more than spectators in life. “Run in such a way that you may win,” the Lord urges us through Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 9:24. You’ll never do that with a diseased heart. When hope deferred sets in, we’re not only unable to win; sometimes, we can’t even finish the race. There’s no doubt about it: hope-deferred “heart disease” is a killer. Consider the following shocking statistics: Suicide is the second leading cause of death among young adults between the ages of twenty and twenty-four, with approximately sixty-six hundred lives lost each year.(4) Approximately 20 percent of high school students seriously consider suicide each year, 16 percent have a suicide plan, and 9.5 percent attempt suicide.(5) Twenty-five percent (61.5 million) of Americans suffer from mental disorders or substance abuse problems each year.(6) Thoreau’s famous quote, “The mass of men live lives of quiet desperation,”(7) has never been more apropos. But the Lord doesn’t want the pain, frustration, or disillusionment of hope deferred to affect hearts in such a way. He wants all of us to run the race of life enthusiastically, effectively, and with pleasure, enjoying the journey. That’s why I wrote the book, The Power of Hope: Let God Heal Your Heart, Restore Your Faith, and Unlock Your Dreaming Nature. My heart breaks for those today who feel trapped in an endless maze of despair. Whether it be from the death of a loved one, a failed marriage, a business that went under, rejection, betrayal, or even the death of a dream, the grip of hopelessness destroys many lives. I actually wrote the book several years ago, but sensed Holy Spirit stirring me to revisit it as I watched our Millennial and Gen Z generations become so disillusioned with life. I knew He was telling me that, with His help, I could make the book better: a little shorter - hurting people don’t want a long book; more powerful stories of healing from discouragement and depression - hurting people need a spark of hope; very clear and easy-to-understand steps to full recovery. I analyzed every word, every sentence on every page, and made this one of the best - if not the best - books I have ever written. My prayer is that it helps millions of hurting people. And I know it can. Frankly, everyone could benefit from this small book. Everyone. In it, I refer to hope-deferred as “the common cold of the soul.” No one can go through life without experiencing this emotional virus. But it does not have to damage our hearts. God placed within them the ability to heal. Several years ago, my brother Tim was allowed to witness an open-heart surgery, standing right at the patient’s head! During the procedure, they stopped the patient’s heart. When it came time to restart it, the medical staff tried repeatedly but couldn’t get the heart to beat again. Finally, as a last resort and although the patient was obviously unconscious, the surgeon leaned over and spoke into the patient’s ear, “We need your help. We cannot get your heart restarted. Tell your heart to start beating.” Boom! Incredibly, in that instant, the patient’s heart began to beat again!(8) Every spiritual and emotional heart can also beat again. It just needs a little help. You are good, faithful, and have a plan to bring them into a hope-filled future (Jeremiah 29:11). I ask You to breathe favor on this book. Please get it into the hands of those who need it, and use it as part of their healing process. Use it to heal individual lives, marriages, dreamless hearts, and depressed minds. Help them once again find the anchor of hope (Hebrews 6:19). And pour out Your Spirit in America and other nations, once again. Hope is in You, the God of hope (Romans 15:13). Today is Labor Day, and we are giving our wonderful staff the day off. Therefore, we are replaying a great post sharing a summary of what President Trump has accomplished through March of this year. We think you’ll enjoy it. Be safe and have a wonderful holiday! Remarkable Progress President Trump is on his way to being one of the most consequential presidents in U.S. history. He and his team are changing the landscape of America and the world for the better. I often find myself reminding people in the Christian world that President Trump’s policies, not his language and personality, are what make him the President we need. I don’t want that statement to be interpreted as criticism of the President’s character or personality, just a factual reminder. Frankly, I mostly ignore the personalities of government officials and focus on their actions. (I have seen some pretty lousy government officials over the years with appealing personalities.) Based on the current war with Iran, I have heard a few Trump supporters question his honesty, reminding people that he campaigned on not getting America into more unwise and unnecessary wars. “Has he changed in this regard?” they ask. I don’t believe he has. My GH15 posts this week make my position clear: I support the President and Israel regarding what is being done in Iran. Today, I’m going to share some accomplishments by Trump and his team to demonstrate that he is keeping his promises and striving to make America (and the world) better and safer. Here are a few of the Trump Administration’s accomplishments in their first year, most of them taken from “365 Wins in 365 Days.”(1) And some of them are observations I have made. Spiritually and Morally America is turning around spiritually. President Trump is very God-honoring. He allows and promotes regular prayer and worship in the White House and begins cabinet meetings with prayer. He established the White House Faith Office to protect Americans’ religious liberty. On May 17, 2026, he plans to hold an event at the Lincoln Memorial to re-dedicate America as “One Nation Under God.” President Trump has removed woke policies and teachings from our schools and universities, and made the fact that there are only two sexes the official policy of the U.S. government. He officially began the process of closing the Department of Education and returning education to the states. He is pro-life, and pardoned pro-life Americans wrongly targeted by the Biden administration. (In his first term, he gave us the justices that overturned Roe v Wade.) He has ended federal funding for chemical and surgical gender procedures for minors through executive action and regulatory enforcement, working to end these harmful procedures for minors at health systems across the country. He ordered U.S. strikes against ISIS leadership in Nigeria in order to protect Christian communities. Safety and Protection America is safer. President Trump has closed our borders to illegals and is deporting millions of those who entered our nation illegally. He has all but stopped the flow of illegal drugs from coming across, including the abominable fentanyl. He dismantled Tren de Aragua, MS-13, and other transnational gang-related criminal networks, and has designated more than 10 major Latin American cartels as terrorist organizations. He and his team have delivered the largest one-year decline in homicides in U.S. history, while overseeing a 25% decrease in the number of on-duty law enforcement officer deaths. He has captured a record number of criminals on the FBI’s Most Wanted list within one year – outpacing the number captured under Biden in four years. He barred COVID-19 vaccine mandates for our children in schools that receive federal funding, and is cleaning up America’s poisonous foods. Economically America is more prosperous. President Trump has brought $18-$20 trillion in new investments to America and reestablished fair trade for Americans worldwide. He is exposing and ending fraud to the tune of billions of taxpayer dollars. Some estimates are as high as half a trillion a year. He has tamed inflation to 2.4%, down from its highest in a generation during Biden’s presidency. He has begun allowing oil drilling and coal mining, and has ended Biden’s foolish bans on fossil fuels. He has ended the waste of billions of dollars on unwise Green Energy subsidies. The American economy is roaring back and will continue to do so despite the unavoidable hiccups caused by the war in Iran. Militarily America is stronger. Trump and his administration have restored and exceeded necessary military recruitment and strengthened our military. They have removed DEI policies from the military and barred transgender individuals from enlisting in our armed forces. They’ve fired disloyal, woke, and unpatriotic military officials. Trump supports our troops…and our veterans. He has revoked more than 100 security clearances of deep state actors responsible for weaponizing and politicizing intelligence, including: Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Alvin Bragg, Jake Sullivan, Hillary Clinton, Leticia James, Liz Cheney, John Bolton, Adam Kinzinger, Anthony Blinken, James Clapper, and Fiona Hill. Internationally America is stronger on the world front. Trump has ended 8 wars around the world and secured an agreement from NATO member nations to raise their defense spending from 2% to 5% of their GDP. (Most of them weren’t even spending the required 2%, but were simply allowing the U.S. to foot the bill.) He has built friendships with most Middle Eastern nations, creating alliances that most believed were completely impossible. He has essentially taken back the Panama Canal, which had more or less fallen into the hands of China. He ended the evil regime in Venezuela, taking the unelected dictator from his bed… and the oil from Russia and China. He blew up Iran’s bunkers that contained most of its nuclear capabilities. He has greatly crippled China and Russia’s strengths and economies, and made America the world’s respected leader again. This president, who took a bullet for all of us and stood to his feet, shouting “fight, fight, fight“; who has endured 10 years of evil lies and false accusations against him; who has experienced 2 ridiculous and unfounded impeachments; who has personally spent hundreds of millions of dollars fighting unjust lawfair; and who works for free, taking no salary, can be trusted. He says what he means and means what he says. He is working tirelessly and bringing America back at an unbelievable pace. Please pray for this President and his team. Pray with me: Thank You, Father, for the turnaround that has begun in America. You have given us a president who is unencumbered by political ambitions and isn’t indebted to a political party. He is bold, decisive, fearless, and honors You. You have given him a capable team, and they are making a remarkable impact around the globe. It is obvious that You are helping them. We ask for this to continue. We ask You to give him and his team wise strategies and noble plans. Keep them focused, strong, humble, and lion-hearted. When they pray and worship together, flood the room with Your presence. Teach them Your ways, and give them a love for Your Word. We ask for success for our and Israel’s militaries in Iran. Overthrow the evil powers in that nation that steal, kill, and destroy. We ask for protection over innocents, and over our soldiers. And most of all, we pray that millions of people in the Middle East come to You. Break the hold of radical Islam in that region and bring the revelation of Yeshua and His salvation. We pray all of this in Yeshua’s name, amen. Our decree: We decree that He who has begun a good work in America and around the world, will finish it!
