Big Plans for October

I feel that October is stacking up to be a strategic month for our nation. Massive amounts of prayer, through various events and networks, are being planned. Many tuned-in believers are sensing just how strategic the present season is. I try to limit my travels to once or twice a month because of the tremendous challenge of writing daily Give Him 15 posts. I will be out five times in October, however, and that is likely to increase. Days off will be few and far between. But, as the familiar saying goes, desperate times call for desperate measures. (Prayers for strength appreciated.)

A couple of those trips will be to D.C. for prayer gatherings. The first will be focused on the Supreme Court, a gathering hosted by my friend Phillip Jauregui, October 4-5. I join him annually for this very strategic event, which this year will take place at the Museum of the Bible. It is my honor to be the keynote speaker at the dinner on Monday night, the 5th. Many key leaders will also participate in this significant event, including my good friend Chuck Pierce.

On my first visit to the Supreme Court 30 years ago, I heard Holy Spirit say, as clearly as I have ever heard Him, “Now I am going to show you where the strong man over America lives.” The words “strong man” were taken from the passage of Scripture in Matthew 12:29 and Mark 3:27. This did not mean that all of the Justices were evil, or that the institution itself was evil. It meant that satan had established a stronghold there from which to implement his plans to control our nation. Part of my assignment since that day has been to see the stronghold broken.

I believe the Lord told me last year that the “strong man” has been bound and the stronghold is being dismantled. That does not mean, however, that all of the mindsets and ideologies represented on the Court have changed. It means satan no longer has the ability or right to rule our nation from there; his seat of authority has been removed.

We must now do as these passages of Scripture instruct us and take “the spoils.” I believe this means praying fervently until constitutionally based (and biblical) ideologies fully control the Court’s decisions, as our Founders intended (which will include replacing some Justices). This has begun, but it is certainly not finished.

As I stated in a recent post, I realize an event like this is not as exciting as one with tens of thousands of people on the Washington Mall. But I assure you, it is just as important. The decisions made by the Court will impact our nation for decades, perhaps centuries. Some of the current Justices on the Bench are in their 70s. Resignations and replacements will no doubt take place soon, making this a very critical season!

I also realize this gathering is coming up rather soon; there is little time to plan, and trips to D.C. are not cheap. Nevertheless, I am once again urging some of you to consider joining us. Churches, send a “delegate.” Prayer groups/ministries, send an intercessor to help us. Not only will you/they help shift the Court, which will shift the nation, but participants will grow in their understanding of the High Court and what it takes to change it. And everyone, whether you can attend or not, please pray for this event. (Visiting and touring the amazing Museum of the Bible is worth a trip to D.C., in and of itself.)

Let’s Ask For Lightning

One of the primary meanings of the Old Testament word for intercession (paga)(1) is “strike the mark.” Job 36:32 describes God filling His hands with lightning and commanding it to “strike the mark” or target. When Israeli soldiers hit a bull’s-eye in their target practice, they still shout, “Paga!” This analogy is used again in Habakkuk 3:4 (NASB): “His radiance is like the sunlight; He has rays flashing from His hand, And there is the hiding of His power.” Holy Spirit draws on this analogy yet again in the book of Revelation, when the prayers of God’s saints, stored in golden bowls, are used to release lightning into the earth (Revelation 8:3-5).

A lightning bolt can be hotter than the surface of the sun! When God begins releasing His judgments and justice into the earth as bolts of lightning, He is very serious! We need spiritual lightning strikes, flashing from the very throne room of God, to hit the mark from now throughout the month of October. Let’s ask for His glory and light to be released into our nation, dispelling darkness and releasing His power, especially into our government and the upcoming elections.

The impact on the Supreme Court could very well be one of the most significant aspects of this election. If one or more Justices resign while Trump is still president, he will, of course, nominate the replacement/s. But if Democrats take over the Senate, it will be very difficult, if not impossible, to confirm a conservative replacement. The stakes are high.

Pray with me:

Father, thank You for the breakthroughs that have occurred in the Supreme Court. We call on You, once again, the Ancient of Days and Supreme Judge of the earth, adding our prayers to the many that have been offered to shift the Court. YOU birthed America and our government. YOU instituted the concept of government. We ask that YOU bring the Court back under YOUR plans, purposes, precepts, and laws. You know who needs to go; please remove them. Change ALL that needs changing. Fill this branch of government and its headquarters with Your presence once again. Oversee the timing and decisions of all resignations and replacements to the Court. We ask that You do what Your Word says in Isaiah 1:26 (NASB): “I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning: After that you will be called the city of righteousness, A faithful city."

Release Your lightning strikes into our nation. Hit the mark in D.C.; strike all three branches of our government with Your commands - Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. Judge the arrogant plans of those who oppose You, dismantling their evil systems, schemes, and networks. Make it clear that You are still Lord over the earth. Also strike in the statewide elections, bringing forth the miracle we need regarding our Legislature.

And Lord, strike the strongholds of principalities and powers in the Middle East. Strike the wicked regime in Iran. Throw them into turmoil. Do it in a way that all Iranians know that Yahweh and His Son, Jesus, freed them from their oppression. Turn their hearts to You by the millions.

We ask all of this confidently in the holy and all-powerful name of Yeshua. Amen.
