Igniting Your Family with Revival Before I begin today’s post, I must apologize for not remembering to include the information regarding Clay Nash’s prayer call at the end of yesterday’s post. I WILL do so today. Much of today’s post is taken from the OUTSTANDING book Fire on the Family Altar, written by Cheryl Sacks. Cheryl and her husband, Hal, are two of the most anointed and seasoned leaders of today’s 30-year-old prayer movement. I know of no two people I trust more. This post is important, and you would be doing yourself a great service if you purchase and read this book. I had the privilege of writing the foreword, where I said: “This book is one of the best marriages of revelation and wisdom, impartation and application that I know of. So often, we’re told what but not how. You will not experience that frustration after finishing this book. You’ll be able to do the teaching.” Cheryl begins: “I will never forget the moment when the heavens opened up, and I saw a vision of the nation covered in deep impenetrable darkness. I froze in awe and wonder, staring into the darkness. One by one, I saw homes across America light up as families passionately prayed and fervently praised God. Instantly, homes everywhere across the nation exploded with light as families were magnifying the Lord. The light spilled from these homes into the streets and through the neighborhoods—this spread like wildfire until the entire nation was ablaze with the presence and power of God. “In the days that followed, the Lord began to speak to me, ‘I am coming with revival fire to visit families across America.’ He revealed that as families worship Him and invite His Holy Spirit into their homes, He will revive them—bring them back to life. His presence and power will fill their lives and households, igniting a passion and hunger for God that will spread to those around them. “This would not be the first time God used family prayer to ignite transforming revival. This happened in the Hebrides Revival in Scotland in 1949-1953. It started in the small cottage of two elderly sisters who gave themselves to prayer for revival to come to their village. “At that time, churches in the region were spiritually dead. Not one young person was in church. Yet Peggy and Christine Smith spent hours in prayer daily, sometimes from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. As their intercession intensified, others began to pray alongside them from homes across the island. “Soon the fear of the Lord gripped almost everyone on the island. Witnesses reported that one morning at 3:00 A.M., they found men and women kneeling along the road, crying out for mercy. Every home had its lights on—no one could sleep! The awareness of God was overwhelming! “Churches began to fill up as people returned to God. Those approaching the church would fall silent, in awe of the Lord. As they were seated, they would begin weeping—some from an overwhelming love of God, others from conviction. “No one wanted to go home when the services were over; they would linger at church or go into nearby homes for more worship. This would often go until 4:00 or 5:00 A.M. People were supernaturally able to function with little to no sleep. “The Hebrides Revival, sometimes called ‘The Cottage Revival,’ lasted four years, and 90 percent of the island was saved in its wake. It was a young-person phenomenon. Many teenagers and those under 40 were converted. “In the times in which we are living, God is calling His people once again to light the family altar—to establish our homes as places to meet with and encounter Him. As God’s people respond to this invitation, I believe it will usher in an unprecedented move of Holy Spirit, filling households with healing, restoration, and a renewed love for God and one another. “I hear the Lord’s urgent call to His Church today, ‘Get ready! Get your house in order and make room for My Spirit to move with power.’ In fact, in my vision, the Lord showed me ‘fire from Heaven’ falling on families, spreading to the family of God—a concentric move of God that starts in our own hearts and homes and moves outward as we prepare a welcoming place for Him. This will awaken the nation spiritually like nothing before it. “There are things the Lord wants to say to our families and us during these extraordinary times. I feel a strong, weighty urgency of the Lord to draw near to Him—to get off the proverbial hamster wheel of our everyday lives, to get quiet long enough to hear His voice. If we are running ahead too quickly and not listening to the Lord’s voice, we will miss what the Lord is saying and what He wants to do in and through our households. We must pay attention! “The Lord is sounding a clarion call for us to get ready for an outpouring of His Holy Spirit that will fill and overflow our homes, bringing in a great harvest of souls. This is not the time for the Church to hide in our homes; it is a time for the Church to arise and shine, as the prophet Isaiah proclaimed: ‘Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you’ (Isaiah 60:1 ESV). “In these times of cultural crisis, it is possible to make our homes a storehouse of His glory. People will be looking for those who know how to touch God on their behalf. As the revival spreads, new believers will need more of God’s Good News—the ‘basics’ of the Bible. This is why the Lord is calling us to be prayerful and prepare our homes to be a habitation for Him. Nothing is more effective at drawing people into the Kingdom and discipling them than nurturing friendships in a warm home environment. “The Lord is calling us to reach out to friends and neighbors—to invite them into our homes for times of Spirit-filled worship, prayer, and sharing testimonies of God’s faithfulness. He wants His Holy Spirit to be like a fire burning in our homes so that everyone who walks through our front door will encounter His tangible presence. As our families become saturated with God’s heart and filled with His hope, joy, and love, we will reignite in others that which was reignited in us. “Imagine what might happen if families all across the nation began to pray together every day. What if we regularly invited God’s presence into our homes and prayed not only for one another but for our schools, workplaces, and churches? What if every time we gathered to pray, we asked God to send another Great Awakening to our land? I believe we would see families restored, prodigals coming home, and revival fires ablaze, with a multitude of people coming into God’s Kingdom. “I hear the Lord’s urgent call, even a promise, to our families and the family of God today: “If you will build an altar, I will come—with awakening and revival fire— to your family and to your nation!” Pray with me: Father, we ask You to ignite revival fire on the family altars of homes across America. Help families prioritize their relationship with You and make You the center of their home life—creating a foundation that can bring true transformation to our nation. And, Lord, we pray that this would not end with our generation but that our children and our children’s children would keep the fire on the family altar burning—that the generations to come would put their trust in You and not forget Your faithfulness (Psalm 78:6-7). Amen. Our decree: We decree, in Jesus’ name, that this movement of family prayer and worship is ignited today and that it will set the nation ablaze with the power and presence of Almighty God! A New Weight of Glory “Certainly the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret plan to His servants, the prophets. A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can do anything but prophesy?” (Amos 3:7-8 NASB) God is moving significantly and preparing to do so in even greater ways. He is stirring up prophets to announce these plans and purposes, alerting us so we can pray and prepare. Today I want to share portions of two prophetic words sent to me just within the last few days. One is regarding His worldwide movement, the other one is regarding the state of Oklahoma. The first word was released by my friend, Scott Reece, who leads a great work in Moline, Illinois. Scott was awakened at 3:00 A.M. to serve as a watchman, when the following word came with great intensity: “There is a supernatural weight of My glory coming upon you now! As prophesied, the Season of the Supernatural has arrived. “What I am doing on the earth today demands warriors who are battle-ready! You are stepping out of the past, the struggles of the past, the identity of the past, and the bondages of the past! You are stepping into a season where your time at the altar will be one of supernatural download, prophetic assignment, heart readiness, and divine release. “I am pouring out My glory upon the earth in unprecedented ways. It has been prophesied, decreed, sought for, and anticipated. The work I am doing should not, and will not, catch My Ekklesia by surprise. This is that for which you have pressed into My heart. The heavy winds of My Spirit are being released across the earth. “In times past when My glory was poured out, as in this season, it was not sustained. This was because, on the other end of revival, there must be those who know how to carry My glory. “This is not just a personal revival, it is corporate. I am not only reviving hearts, I am restoring and repairing worldwide strategies and structures that have the ability to sustain My glory. “This is a revival that will have the distinction of being networked across the world by mature intercessors and leadership of My Ekklesia. They will carry the weight of My glory and anointing unselfishly. “Speak revival NOW - at this very moment - into your atmosphere. Your voice rises above the chaos of culture and joins the crescendo of prophetic declaration that is encircling the planet. “The weight of My glory has been released upon the earth. It will be sustained as never before by the carriers of My anointing and My glory!” What an encouraging word, and I believe it. I would add as a teaching point that the biblical word for confession means “to say the same thing.” (Homologia, Strong’s 3670) Our words are powerful when we are saying what God says. Think about it, we are born again when we believe the gospel in our hearts and confess this faith in Christ with our mouths (Romans 10:10). Speaking the word of the Lord is one of the primary ways God’s power and authority are released. Scott’s word from the Lord instructs us to speak revival into our atmosphere NOW. Declare it! Job 22:28 tells us to declare what we hear from the Lord, and it will be established. God is not looking for our permission, but He is looking for our agreement, and He does desire to release the power of His Spirit from us. We must never forget that He works on earth through His people. We bind, we loose. We read (in His Word), hear and discern His will, and release it into the earth. My friend, Clay Nash, a prophet, released a word over the state of Oklahoma two nights ago. He leads a conference call of hundreds of people each day to pray for America. Currently, they are praying for a different state each day. I will include information at the end of today’s post on how to join them. Here is the word for Oklahoma: “Oklahoma, in just over 20 years, I have watched you gain ground and then give up ground. However, know that from your beginning, I have imprinted you with the stamp of My Spirit, says the Lord. “It is time to turn up the fire in Oklahoma and move the pot from the back burner to the front burner. For I am visiting afresh and anew places of former out-pouring, spiritual wells that once flowed with healing. The old will become new. Many seek to sustain old moves and days of glory now gone by. But I, the Lord, say that Oklahoma will experience becoming a new wineskin, filled with new wine, flowing to the nation. This wine will put a glow upon the faces of all who taste and see that I am a good God, that I am seeking to redeem the innocent blood that has been shed on your soil. “I am about to reverse my hand in Oklahoma, and the last shall become first. [This is a reference to Jacob reversing his hands, placing his right hand on Ephraim and his left on Manasseh in Genesis 48:8-20.] The outpouring of my healing will come forth, but no significant name shall be attached. It shall not be confined to tents, but will be found under tents. It will be a new movement that will include My body being healed as it becomes fitly joined together. “As the Body of Christ stands to its feet in this new movement, it will carry healing grace to the lost. It will cause eyes to be placed on Me as they experience the movement of My love through My body. The new sound that is being released will result in a new cadence, which will create a thrusting forth, going out as one. “Oklahoma, you will bring forth a new model that can swing out of the old and usher in the new. Oklahoma, spit-shine your boots, lace them up tightly, and get ready for a long march. Oklahoma, you are my boots on the ground.” What a great word for the people in Oklahoma. Begin to pray this word, especially those who live there. Also, join Clay and hundreds of others on these daily calls, agree in prayer with them, and hear what God is saying to other states. We are moving into extraordinary times of healing and restoration. Be proactive. Agree with what God is saying and release your faith to see it begin in your area. Pray with me: Father, we thank You for Your written Word, which is infallible, immutable, and eternal. We also thank You for the prophetic word, which informs us regarding what You are doing and saying today. It releases strategy to us and alerts us to Your timing. You actually said to believe the prophets and prosper. (2 Chronicles 20:20) We believe these words we have heard today are from You, Father. Therefore we will declare them over our lives, ministries, states, and the nations. We decree that the release of Your glory is coming to the church. We decree that the season of the supernatural has arrived. It will not catch us by surprise. We declare that this will be a corporate revival that will affect the entire earth, and that strategies and structures will be built that can sustain Your glory. We decree over Oklahoma that it will become a new wineskin, filled with new wine. We decree that this wine of the Spirit will flow to the entire nation. We command wells of healing to reopen there. Healing will come to the lost and healing will flow to the nation. We pray over our brothers and sisters in Oklahoma that they will hear accurately what You are saying to them now, and that they will be prepared for all that You want to do. 2/22 - Keys to Open and Close Today is February 22, George Washington’s birthday. Today’s date (2/22) always reminds me of a series of events that took place in my life several years ago…. In 2000, while preparing for a cross-country flight, I happened to notice that my departure time was 2:22. I was then seated in row 22, and the total flight time was 2 hours and 22 minutes. My first thought was what a strange coincidence! Then I remembered that the Lord had been speaking to me regarding Isaiah 22:22. “I will set the key of the house of David on his shoulder, when he opens, no one will shut, when he shuts, no one will open.” I knew that in Scripture, keys symbolized authority, and that shoulders symbolize government (see Isaiah 9:6). Would God do something like this to bring me a confirmation? I wondered. A couple of days later, I received a phone call from a friend. While in prayer, he felt prompted to call and give me Isaiah 22:22. He said, “Dutch, God is giving you a higher level of authority to pray for our government. Soon afterward, I went to D.C. on a ministry trip, and a ministry friend gave me a gift after the meeting. She said the Lord had impressed on her months earlier to buy it for me, with the instruction that He would let her know when to present it. It was a beautiful silver key; her words to me were, “This is the key to the city!” I knew it represented the key of authority spoken of in Isaiah 22:22. Another man, knowing nothing about this, gave me three more keys after the same meeting. This had never happened to me before - no one had ever given me keys to symbolize anything. Several dozen confirmations of this nature continued for two weeks: keys given to me, seeing the numbers 22 or 222, and words from the Lord given to me by individuals. God was clearly saying, “I am giving you a new level of authority (keys) to impact the nation.” We truly have been given keys of authority from God to legislate from the heavenlies (in the realm of the spirit), opening doors that can’t be closed by satan or any person, and closing doors through which evil and destruction might otherwise enter. Matthew 16:19 tells us: “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.” A short time later, my belief in these confirmations was put to the test. While in Washington, D.C., I was awakened one morning by the words: “Go to the White House and, using Isaiah 22:22, close the door to the counsel currently coming to the president that is contrary to My will. Then open the door for My counsel to come to him.” Though this seemed very unusual, I determined to obey the prompting. It was a very cold and windy day, and I would be praying outside on the sidewalk. Not a good day to forget my overcoat! The more I prayed, the colder I became, which was very distracting. Lots of people were milling around. Because of 9/11, security was strong - I could tell that every move I made as I paced in front of the fence was being scrutinized. This intimidated me, which I’m sure caused me to look even more suspicious. As I prayed quietly, I knew the entire Secret Service was watching this strange man - me - pacing and obviously alone but speaking to someone. I could imagine that they pictured a hidden microphone that enabled me to communicate with someone waiting for a signal. After about half an hour of this, I’d had enough. I felt nothing but cold, frustration, and intimidation - no anointing, no feeling of peace, no confirmation in my heart that I was accomplishing anything. My internal conversation went something like this: Who do you think you are? You’re not accomplishing a thing. God gives you a verse of Scripture, uses it in your life, and you then think you can do anything you want with it. You’re moving in presumption, not obedience. You might as well go back to your room and get out of this bitter cold. As I turned to go, tail tucked between my legs, a young woman, pushing a baby stroller, approached me. “Excuse me, sir,” she said. “I hope you don’t think I’m weird, but is your name Dutch Pierce?” That this lady wasn’t even sure of who I was made what was about to happen much more believable and impactful. “My name is Dutch Sheets,” I said, “and I minister often with a guy named Chuck Pierce. Do I know you?” “Oh yeah, that’s right - Dutch Sheets. No, you don’t know me. I hope you don’t think I’m weird,” she repeated, “but I heard you speak a couple of years ago, and you talked about a verse in Isaiah - 2:22 or 22:2 - something like that.” She had my attention! “It was 22:22,” I said. “Yeah, that’s right - 22:22, the verse about keys to open and close doors. Well, this morning, the Lord awakened me early, reminded me of that verse and your message, told me to go to the White House, and said, “I’ll show you what to do when you get there.’” “I’ve NEVER done anything like this,” she said, “and I don’t come here regularly to pray. But the impression was so strong that I bundled up my baby and walked a mile or so to get here. I have really struggled with what I’m doing. It’s cold, I had to bring my baby, and I was questioning if I really heard the Lord. Then I saw you and was shocked. I believe that is the man who preached about this verse in Isaiah! I thought. I’ve been watching you for the last thirty minutes, asking God if I’m supposed to approach you, and if so, wondering what I should say. I even called my husband, asking him if he thought I should speak to you. He told me this couldn’t be a coincidence, that I must do so! So, here I am. “I know you already know this, and I feel really strange telling you, but the only thing I’m hearing is that the Lord wants to remind you of that verse in Isaiah and tell you, ‘you really do have the keys to open and close spiritual doors.’” I was blown away! And deeply embarrassed. “Ma’am,” I replied, “I’ve been praying and decreeing something God put in my heart, and using that verse to do so for the last thirty minutes. And I’ve been doing it in complete unbelief. You have fulfilled your assignment. Now get your baby home where it is warm. I’m going to start over and complete my assignment, this time in faith.” I did. Then I signaled a taxi and headed toward my hotel. On the way, I received a hard spanking from the Lord, which went something like this: Don’t ever make Me get mama and her baby out of bed again and send them into the cold, to remind you of your authority - especially after I’ve already given you so many confirmations.” Ouch! Today, remember the authority you’ve been given…and use it. Pray with me: Father, thank You for bringing us into Your family. And thank You, Jesus, for sharing Your authority with us. The authority of Your name is higher than any other, and You have given us the right to use it. Remind Your church of this. We honor You today by using this authority. We do so for our families, declaring Your redemption over them. We decree that every one of them shall know and love You. We break off of them any and all deception and call every prodigal home. We use Your authority to pray for our nation. We boldly declare that Your kingdom is coming, and Your will is being done in America. Strongholds are being demolished, spiritual darkness is being replaced by light, and revival is coming with great strength and intensity. Signs and wonders will accompany this revival, as well as great deliverance and transformation. We close the door to the control of satan, the dragon, and declare that America will remain free. We will not be overtaken by communism and totalitarian nations. We will fully recover our destiny, and the gospel will go forth from here more strongly than it ever has. No weapon formed against this will prosper. Every tongue rising against us in judgment will be condemned and will fail. Light is shining on our ways, and Your glory is rising upon us. And we boldly declare that the nations and people around the world, whom You love so much, will receive great and wonderful outpourings of Your precious Holy Spirit. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, amen. Our decree: We declare that we believe fully in the authority of Christ, that it has been delegated to us, and that we will use it as Holy Spirit leads us. Asbury Is Only the Beginning I am being asked about the ending of the public gatherings associated with the Asbury Revival. Like so many of you, I love seeing what Holy Spirit is doing there. The hunger of the young people is so inspiring; the coming together of the body of Christ to support it is truly encouraging; and the strong, yet sweet, presence of Holy Spirit responding to the hunger is precious. From purely a spiritual perspective, I would love to see it continue indefinitely. However, I am aware that this is a university, not a church. There are requirements that must be met in order to maintain educational credits, decrees, etc. There are also innumerable practical issues that arise for an organization/entity that is not designed to handle what is happening there. The leaders at Asbury have to weigh all of this and determine how to steward what is occurring. They are no doubt attempting to do so with sensitivity. What we must all remember is that this outpouring at Asbury was never intended by Holy Spirit to be the only place where revival occurs in America. What He has planned will occur all across our nation and other nations. Revival will not be confined to one organization, location, or group of people; Asbury is only a beginning. The outpouring of Holy Spirit will intensify and spread until it is a blazing fire of Holy Spirit activity throughout the land. And this will not be stopped. God‘s plan in the Upper Room of Acts 2 was not a revival for Jerusalem. It was an outpouring for Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the world (Acts 1:8). Likewise, what He is doing today will not be limited to one campus, one church, or one city. It will be universal, as broad as it is powerful, and it will be unprecedented. What should we who are crying out for revival do now? Leaders should make great efforts to fan the flames and feed the hunger. Plans and activities should be structured to allow Holy Spirit time and place to move. Worship and prayer should be prioritized. What is coming will be more of a presence movement than a preaching movement. This is not to minimize the need for biblical preaching and teaching - we must have that. But an atmosphere must be created and honored that allows Holy Spirit to hover in our meetings and gatherings. He wants to pour Himself out, and this occurs as we give Him time and place. Ask Him for His strategies. Ask Him what plans we have that should be changed, and what activities may be in the way of His moving. And we must all prepare our hearts through humility and genuine hunger. Leaders must also promote unity. Whenever possible, work with other churches and groups to create the “one accord” atmosphere that draws Him. (See Acts 2) We must remember that this is not about us - our church, our ministry, our movement. It is about Christ and what He wants to do to reach people. Resist, at all costs, a competitive spirit and mindset. The church in America has become appallingly competitive and self-centered. This must be avoided. Resist the tendency to build on programs, ideas, methods and, especially, hype. Sensationalism will build nothing of true spiritual value or longevity. Contend for Holy Spirit’s presence and favor; nothing else will produce what we want to see. People, especially young people, are hungry for what is real and genuine, not for flash and hype. And whether they know it or not, they are hungry for God. Give them His presence! And I cannot emphasize strongly enough that when outpourings of Holy Spirit begin, we must steward, not control them. He will always come in unexpected ways, and people will respond similarly. They will weep; they will express great emotion; they will linger. They want to experience HIM, not simply be told about Him. If all of our gatherings are conducted in settings and atmospheres that must remain formal, carefully structured and strictly timed, we will not see what we desire. Polished and dignified atmospheres produce comfort zones, but never revival. And many churches miss Holy Spirit outpourings because they simply don’t make time for Him. Don’t expect Him to bow to our structures, schedules, or desires for convenience. To parents: get your kids into an atmosphere of awakening, whatever the cost. Go where it is occurring, if at all possible. And help pray it into your area - God wants to be poured out in your region. When it occurs, support it with your presence, time, and finances. Many of our children have been fed a diet of religious routines and activities, form without power, and little, if any, intimacy with God. They are unimpressed. Our young people want to truly connect with God Himself. And they crave purpose, which is only found in one’s Creator. And finally, to those of you who pray, please don’t stop. Our prayers are saving America. God is using them to expose evil, destructive ideologies, and impure motives. They are preparing the soil of America (and elsewhere) for the seed of the gospel, for truth, and for great change. We are forerunners, preparing the way for Christ to come to our land. Continue to appeal. Continue to decree, releasing Kingdom authority and God’s will on Earth. And continue to believe - it’s working. Pray with me: Father, thank You for the lives that have changed at Asbury. Thank You for whetting our appetite for more, for showing us what happens when You begin hovering and pouring out. We are hungry and thirsty for more. Please open the spigot. Open the heavens and rain Your life, grace, and power. Give leaders in the church Your strategies. Give us the humility, wisdom, and boldness to change ANYTHING that needs to change in order to make room for You. Give us ears to hear You, fresh revelation of what You are saying NOW. No leader learned how to birth, release, or steward revival in Bible College - because it can’t be taught. We must listen, we must hear. Give us desperate hearts and hearing ears! And finally, in the words of William Booth, revivalist and founder of the Salvation Army: “Thou Christ of burning, cleansing flame, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! Thy blood-bought gift today, we claim, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! Look down and see this waiting host, Give us the promised Holy Ghost; We want another Pentecost, send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! “God of Elijah, hear our cry: Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! To make us fit to live or die, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! To burn up every trace of sin, To bring the light and glory in, The revolution now begin, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! “’Tis fire we want, for fire we plead, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! The fire will meet our every need, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! For strength to ever do the right, For grace to conquer in the fight, For pow’r to walk the world in white, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! “To make our weak hearts strong and brave, Send the fire, send the fire, send the fire! Love and Serve One Another I had the honor of serving Gene Bailey and Flashpoint, a ministry of The Victory Channel, last Thursday and Friday (2/16-17/2023) in Pensacola, FL. Gene is doing several two-day gatherings throughout the nation this year. These will include an evening Flashpoint Live program, followed by a day of practical instruction on how to make a difference in our nation. This second day will provide teaching on impacting local and national government, schools, etc. This concept Holy Spirit has given Gene is a wonderful blend of revival and reformation. In Pensacola, the first night had a strong revival emphasis. Here is a clip from me sharing on Thursday evening. CLICK HERE to watch. As you can tell, we did become passionate that Thursday night. God’s presence was strong. As well as promoting revival and educating the church on relevant issues in our nation, God is also using Flashpoint to model cooperation in the body of Christ. It is an honor for me to partner with them. Trusted prophetic friends of mine have had several dreams over the last two years about a higher level of cooperation in the church to accomplish the Lord’s purposes in our nation. This unity is very important to the Lord. He wants His family to love and serve one another, working together to accomplish His purposes. It is my joy to walk out these prophetic dreams, and I appreciate Flashpoint for doing so, as well. God allows for disagreement in the church, just as there are disagreements between family members and friends. However, very few of these differences are important enough to justify division and a refusal to work together. We should pursue unity, harmony, and cooperation whenever possible. Satan, of course, wants to divide us; that is his goal. Through Paul, Holy Spirit urged and instructed us to be diligent in striving for unity: “Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you also were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all.” (Ephesians 4:1-6 NASV) The word “diligent” is spoudazo (Strongs 4704), from a root word meaning “speed.” This form of the word means to “speedily and earnestly perform a task.” Thayer’s Lexicon uses the phrase “to exert one’s self” in doing this. My amplification of the instruction in this verse would be to “with great exertion and without delay work toward love and unity.” “Bearing with one another” is the Greek word, anechomai (Strongs 430), which doesn’t simply mean “putting up with” others. It means “to hold oneself up against; to hold up or sustain,” as a stake would do for a tomato plant. The point is to strengthen one another, to stake ourselves to others, transferring our strength to them, thereby sustaining them. This is similar to the point being made in Psalm 133, which says the dew from Hermon rains on Zion (verse 3). As the day warms, the dew from Mount Hermon evaporates and forms clouds. The afternoon winds then blow them to Mt Zion, where they produce rain. Mt Hermon literally waters Zion. God uses this as a beautiful picture of what we must do as His body: sow into and bless one another. Holy Spirit informs us in the Ephesians passage that this unity will require humility, gentleness, and patience. Humility is necessary because we must acknowledge that we are not always right, even though we usually believe we are. It will also be required because even if something we believe truly is more accurate than another’s, we must be humble enough to still honor their works and efforts. The opposite of humility is pride and arrogance. Pride divides us; humility and honor unify us. Proverbs 6:16-18 tells us God “hates haughty eyes…and one who spreads strife among brothers.” I have had fellow believers refuse to work - or even associate - with me because of my eschatology, my theology regarding the gifts of the Spirit, my beliefs regarding the ministry gifts of Ephesians 4:11, my style of worship, the translation of Scripture I normally use, and much more. One person on Twitter didn’t like my support of the Asbury Revival (though they are also supportive of it!) because of my belief that apostles exist today and my support of President Trump. (This was not an individual associated with Asbury.) This is so sad. Though I’m confident I have theological differences with Asbury University, nevertheless, it is my great joy to support what Holy Spirit is doing there, especially with the young people. It does not matter that Asbury is not of “my stream.” They are my brothers and sisters in Christ - my family - and I want them to experience everything Holy Spirit has for them. History confirms that when God begins to move, He does not make sure a person’s theology is accurate before being willing to pour out His Spirit on them. Neither does He require a certain level of holiness or biblical knowledge before doing so. He comes to hungry, humble, and repentant hearts, fills them with His Spirit, and then begins maturing them. We must manifest His gracious heart. Don’t miss what God is about to do. The proud, dogmatic, and those controlled by a religious spirit always struggle with revival, just as the Pharisees did with Christ’s ministry. To them, most people aren’t worthy of the outpouring; they don’t believe it is given as a gift but must be earned. The coming revival will be rejected by them. Determine not to be one of these individuals. Instead, walk in love. Walk in humility. Pray with me: Father, thank You for loving us in spite of our weaknesses and errors. Thank You for the opportunities You give us to bless other parts of the body of Christ. Thank You for what You are doing at Asbury. Thank You for the way You are using Flashpoint and the various ministries involved with it. Continue to prosper them and use them mightily. We pray for the continuation of awakening to the youth of America and the world. Do not allow anything to stop this. Intensify it. As the false gods of Baal are being judged in our nation and around the world, people are simultaneously being delivered, just as occurred in the Exodus. You are judging evil, while You also deliver many. We ask for this to continue and increase. Pour out Your Spirit! We ask for great grace to be upon us in this time. We ask for grace to strengthen us in humility and love toward one another. We ask for Your nature of giving and preferring one another to grow stronger in and through us. You have placed the fruit of Your Spirit in us; we ask for an outworking of it from us. We know this demands decisions from us. We ask for conviction from Holy Spirit to motivate us in this regard; and to remind us that this is Your will. We ask all of this in Christ’s name, amen. God’s Unlimited Greatness My brother, Tim, seeks the Lord faithfully and is always listening for the word of the Lord. Because of this, he walks in great revelation. The following word from him is very powerful, and is consistent with what God is doing in America, and elsewhere. Revival is springing up. Tim says; “The discovery of our Heavenly Father’s greatness is an ongoing revelation. It is a continuous process as we press in to know Him more through worship and His Word. Psalm 145:4 (TPT) says, ‘Generation after generation will declare more of your greatness and declare more of your glory.’ Disclosures of Father’s greatness are ever building through the generations, and this increases in magnitude both exponentially and experientially. Each generation is called to discover more of this greatness and go from glory to glory. “How can this be the case when things on earth are seemingly becoming worse? We are told in the latter days seducers will wax worse (2 Timothy 3:13) and perilous times will be present (2 Timothy 3:1). Could it be that things can wax worse for antichrist nations and people; yet, for God’s sons and daughters His greatness experientially increases? The scriptures say ‘yes.’ God’s greatness and glory increases. “Things are better in God’s family than in satan’s. It was different for Israelites in Goshen than for Egyptians. Goshen was the territory God’s people lived in during their bondage in Egypt, which lasted 430 years. Goshen became the best part of Egypt because of God’s favor, experiencing peace, prosperity and abundance. Goshen was the training, improving and maturing place for God’s people, preparing them to receive the new territory, their inheritance, and the promised land. “Psalm 145 encourages us that God is faithful to fulfill every promise He has ever made. He is faithful to fulfill every prophetic word, covenant, vision and dream. Knowing this increases our confidence for new seasons to unfold. He will do exactly what He has said. “Holy Spirit gave me a word 2 years ago that I believe has reached its due season of fulfillment. This word will charge the atmosphere and stir angel armies. We will seed God’s word into the heavens as we declare this word. “I was in my office praying and studying for a Sunday morning message when the atmosphere suddenly changed. I knew it was the presence of the Lord; I could sense His closeness. As His presence filled my office, I sensed the spiritual atmosphere changing and simply said, ‘Lord, I’m listening.’ He began speaking to me and showing me prophetic visions. I saw hundreds of Ekklesia hubs becoming like spiritual volcanoes, erupting in their regions with great power. “I heard the Lord say, ‘The new era I have planned will now be established in supernatural displays of My dunamis.’ “Dunamis is one of the Greek words for power in the Bible.(1) It is a power capable of anything, even creating and working miracles. “Dynamite” is linked to this word. But while tremendous power is inherent in dynamite, dunamis actually describes what occurs once the dynamite has been lit. The explosion is dunamis. So, dunamis refers to a supernatural release of energy or power. “Therefore, this prophetic word that came to me means, ‘I am now going to RELEASE supernatural displays of My power and energy.’ “His word to me continued, ‘Holy Spirit’s power will activate on the earth in greater measure and with sudden surges of mightiness. Miracles will suddenly happen. My people will experience and live in sudden breakthroughs. Long standing battles will end in sudden breakthroughs. For I have planned the release of millions of sudden, personal victories for My heirs, validating the new, greater glory of an apostolic age. I will validate the expansion of My Kingdom’s Ekklesias with displays of My greatness and power. I will enable them to facilitate reversals of hell’s spiritual kingdom government, promoted by demons. Supernatural reversals are planned and will activate, resulting in victories for My Ekklesias. This validation will be clear, visible, and irrefutable. I will confirm what I have said. Sudden surprise attacks are planned against your enemies. My angel armies have set traps that I have approved. They are springing forth in the spiritual and natural realms. For in unseen ways, I have moved multiple divisions of angel armies into the nations where My Ekklesia is rooted. It is time for the unseen to be seen. It’s time for the surprise. It’s time for the suddenlies to erupt. It’s time for the volcanic hubs of My Ekklesia to erupt in great power. What has been boiling underground will erupt. My Ekklesias in the nations will rise, proclaiming My greatness.’ “Shortly after this word, I received another download during which the Lord said, ‘You will now see, in your times, a mighty deliverance from the prophets of Baal, just as Elijah saw. Freedom from the constraints of Jezebel is now activated; her fall is planned. You will dance Miriam’s victory dance, “The horse and the rider have been thrown into the sea.’” “Miriam’s victory dance took place after the Red Sea miracle, which tells me that some type of great deliverance is about to happen. There is a supernatural path opening and the enemies chasing us are going to be trapped. “The word continued, ‘You will shout the shout of Gideon. The sword of the Lord is revealed.’ You will shout, “the sword of the Lord in His Ekklesias.” You will decree the word of Isaiah, “There is double for our trouble. Grace has multiplied. The siege of our enemies has ended. No weapon has prospered. All those who rose in vengeance failed. There is release from our tormentors and sorrow has turned to joy.” You will say as Mordechai, “Haman’s work has boomeranged back upon his head.” You will say as Esther, “The king’s authority is within our reach. The scepter of power is stretched forward to us.” You will reign in the King’s authority. You’ll validate with the Lord’s signet ring. You’ll change the fate of nations with the King’s authority. Now see the merger of heaven’s hosts ministering with the King’s Ekklesias. Now see your great King, who reigns over His Kingdom through all the ages of time, reveal more of His greatness to your generation. Now see His greatness overwhelmingly prevail.’ “In this God-planned era, He is going to cause us to discover more of His greatness. As David says in Psalm 145:3 (TPT), ‘There is no end to the discovery of the greatness that surrounds You.’ The Voice translation of this verse says, ‘Your greatness knows no limits, recognizes no boundary and no one can comprehend Your magnificence.’ “God is infinitely great! He will keep His promises and do what He said.” Pray with me: Father, we proclaim Your greatness, which knows no limits or boundaries. Reveal it to us more and more. Increase Your glory, Lord. We ask that multitudes would see and know who You are. Release Your peace, prosperity and abundance over Your people. We know You will do what You said, fulfilling Your promises. You will fulfill the words, visions and dreams You have given. God, let Your Ekklesias become like spiritual volcanoes, erupting in their regions with great power. Release supernatural displays of Your glory. Holy Spirit, activate surges of power on the earth. We believe it is time for suddenlies and breakthroughs. Release miracles and supernatural victories. Release Your angel armies to partner with the Ekklesia and assist in this new era. Come and reshape America. Reshape nations. Come, and let the brightness of Your glory light up the darkness in this world. We declare that no weapon formed against us will prosper and that we will reign in our King’s authority. Father, manifest Your greatness. Reveal it to us in greater measure. In Christ’s name we pray, amen. Support the Revival With Your Prayers I am receiving numerous reports and updates regarding what is occurring at Asbury University (and elsewhere). Carol Stratton shared the following report, which is especially helpful, as it gives behind-the-scenes information regarding how to pray and support what is taking place. The logistical details that have to be thought through and implemented, as well as the tremendous weight of spiritual responsibility on the leaders, is no doubt daunting. Carol and her husband, Dr. Stephen Stratton, are local residents, alumni of the university, and active in the community. Dr. Stratton teaches in the seminary. Her insights are astute. She states: “‘Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I WOULD RATHER BE A DOORKEEPER in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.” (Psalm 84:10) “Last night, I got an entirely different perspective on the Asbury Revival, which is still robustly happening, by the way! “First, let me provide some context. Wilmore, Kentucky, is our home. Steve and I are alumni of the university, and Steve has enjoyed a career at both the university and the seminary. The leadership team of this Revival are our friends and neighbors. This is happening in our backyard! “So, yesterday, I arrived on campus at supper time, hoping the crowd had adequately thinned to provide me with a seat in Hughes Auditorium. I didn't HAVE to be there, but I LONGED to be there. The line that stretched toward entry to Hughes was as long as the line to a thrill ride at Disney! “By this time, I knew there was no way for me to be a participant as an attendee, like Mary, basking in the presence of Jesus. But I could ‘Martha’ if needed. I walked around to the back and was stopped by a worker, but quickly informed them that I was a community person and just wondered if the lead team needed anything. I would be happy to run an errand. Get something? Help in some way? “A long-time buddy quickly handed me a ‘prayer team’ tag, and instructed me to monitor the side door near the Library, because people were slipping through there. For safety's sake, the leaders needed to be able to get a head count of folks in the auditorium. So, from 5 to 9:30, I ‘guarded’ the side door, in an alcove behind the auditorium. It was fascinating. I was able to engage attendees with grace and humor, while explaining the needful boundary. “I was able to thank prayer teams and worship leaders as they entered and exited. I was able to experience the ‘runoff’ of the River of Life, as it swelled its banks and overflowed into my little nook. I was also able to visit with a couple of leaders who gave me an insightful glimpse into all they are addressing as this miracle keeps unfolding! Here are some observations from my Doorkeeping Duties last night: “Every worship team is prayed with and prayed over before they step on the platform. “As they exit the platform, every worship team of musicians is met by a leader who helps them process what they just experienced and prays over them. This intentional intervention guides these young musicians back to the focus: Always Jesus. Always God's glory. Don't confuse His goodness [with a feeling of greatness on your part]. You had the privilege of participating in a ‘God Thing’! “Like a River, this God Event is fluid. The leadership is constantly challenged to respond to the ever-increasing swell of people and their needs. Parking, seats, food, water, restrooms…are just the basics. (One mother drove non-stop from North Dakota with her daughter, and begged that her daughter might take a shower, so they didn't have to leave!) AND the Community is responding again and again! One attendee (knowing I hadn't eaten all night) handed me a chili dog and informed me that ‘a venue down the street’ was giving away FREE chili dogs, chips, and water! “More structures and guidelines are being constructed.…college-age folks can attend actual ’Chapel.’ The remaining ‘Program’ starts at 2 PM, though worship continues [after chapel]. Overflow venues are being made available, including Estes Chapel, McKenna Chapel, GCF, and Wilmore UMC. They are all bursting with hungry worshippers. Some buildings are being closed during the early morning hours for the safety of attendees and equipment. “Prayer is happening constantly: in pockets backstage, in hallways, in places hidden from view but not hidden from God. “The Front Line of leaders is running on grace. They are understandably weary, yet undaunted in their mission. One leader had worked a 40-hour week as of yesterday (Tuesday night). They need reinforcements and refreshments. God is sustaining them, and they continue to serve with unbridled joy and faith-filled fatigue. “The needs remain varied and enormous! One student gave a testimony from the stage, and immediately, people physically responded to his expressed need. It was like watching the Church in Acts leap into action! The eruption of applause as they responded to his need was deafening! “Our prayers are making a difference. Just before I ended my ‘shift’ a couple approached my door. I asked if I could help them. They looked at my tag and said, ‘We just wanted someone to pray with us before we drove home to Memphis. We are dealing with a lot.’ “I smiled, opened the door, ushered them into the warmth, and said, ‘Right. Come talk with me, and we will pray.’ And we did. I walked them to their car, and they left satisfied by the One who is ’feeding the 5,000’ again! “YOUR prayers are needed. The needs are enormous. The mechanics of practical need-meeting are daunting. The Leadership Team is tired. God continues to pour out His Spirit in box-bursting ways! Please cover all of this in prayer!! It is THRILLING!! God is pouring out His power, grace, mercy, and goodness! And He is pouring out opportunities for each of us to be the hands and feet of Jesus where we are! “I heard someone quote: ‘There are FIVE Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and You. Most people will never read the first four.’ “Keep praying. Keep watch. Hold the door OPEN that all may enter!” Thank you, Carol, for allowing us to share this insightful, first-hand report. Finally, we must also pray for this entire community. As glorious as this is, Wilmore will likely be hit with a tidal wave of people. Unlike past revivals there and elsewhere, social media has already caused this one to go viral. Millions have heard about it. And people are hungry. Alumni, pastors, and seekers are showing up from everywhere. Revival Fires Last night, Holy Spirit led one of my staff members to the GH15 post from November 15, 2021. In it, I mentioned two dreams the Lord gave our friend Gina Gholston. In light of what is occurring at Asbury, I felt it was appropriate to share portions of that post again. As I was working on it, my friend, John Kilpatrick, called me. John led the great Brownsville Revival, which occurred from 1995 to 2000. Millions attended from around the world, hundreds of thousands were saved, and it sparked outpourings in many other places. He shared a prophecy with me that he released in 2018. Here are some details from Gina’s first dream, all of the second dream, and John’s prophetic word. RED RIVER EAGLES In the first dream, Gina was in Kentucky at the Red River Meeting House, where a revival took place in 1800 that marked the start of the Second Great Awakening. (Interestingly, Asbury University is also in Kentucky.) One hundred eagles were there. After a geyser erupted, symbolizing the reopening of this well of revival, the eagles departed, flying through the water and becoming drenched with it. They then flew to different parts of America with the “revival water” dripping off of them onto different regions. Each eagle had a scroll in one claw, and 3 arrows in the other. There is much more to the dream, which you can read about in a previous post here (Feb. 9, 2021). THE EAGLES RELEASE THEIR ARROWS In the second dream, Gina saw the eagles once again. Here is that dream: “I dreamed I was standing with someone on a deck-like structure in a very lofty place in the heavens. We were looking down, observing the United States of America. I did not know who the man was standing next to me, but I could feel a strong anointing from him, causing me to have an indescribable hope for the nation! “As we were looking down, we saw what first appeared to be warplanes flying over the U.S. The gentleman next to me said, ‘Oh my, I wonder what is happening in America? What do all of these warplanes mean?’ He said this, not with concern, but almost as though he was wanting me to see something that wasn’t obvious. He looked at me as if I should know the right answer to his questions. “I said, ‘Those are not warplanes, those are eagles! I have seen them before in a dream. There are 100 of them. They’re carrying water from the reopened well of revival at the Red River Meeting House. It has been unlocked and is now gushing forth into the nation.’ “Then I could clearly see that the eagles, just as in the previous dream, were carrying 3 arrows in one of their talons and a rolled-up piece of paper in the other. Also, they were still drenched and releasing water from the geyser erupting on the grounds of the Red River Meeting House. “As the eagles were flying in all directions across America, suddenly, they all began diving toward the ground. When near the ground, they leveled off and began dropping their arrows onto the land. I knew there were 100 eagles, and each carried three arrows, so 300 were released throughout the land. When each arrow hit the ground, it ignited as though it had hit a gas pocket, and a spiraling plume of fire shot up. Then we watched as the water the eagles were carrying and releasing was also ignited by the fire. The water from the Red River Meeting House was extremely flammable and instantly caught fire! It seemed that all of America was on fire. “In the dream, I became VERY aware of the power and presence of God, fell to my knees, and began to sob uncontrollably! The gentleman with me then began speaking under an incredibly heavy anointing. It was then that I noticed he had a very strong accent. He said: ‘You have seen correctly! This is how America will be saved! Do NOT doubt it! There is coming a sweeping move of the Spirit of God that will ignite America with the fire of His presence. This will bring a swift, undeniable awareness of God and an awakening. What seems to be one thing is about to be revealed as another. Some are in fear because of how things appear, but others SEE with holy awe and expectation! “‘The eagles are on assignment. They carry “Fire Power”; they carry glory. And at the precise moment, their arrows will be released, hit their targets, and the move of God will ignite and spread very quickly!’ Then he said again, ‘Do NOT doubt it!’ “Still on my knees, I looked up at the man, and I somehow knew he was Duncan Campbell, one of the ministers from the great Hebrides revival.” JOHN KILPATRICK’S PROPHECY “I declare today that no matter what may be going on in the natural world, it shall not hinder what is about to break forth in the spirit. Let this declaration go forth, so the powers that be shall be put on notice that prayers and intercession have been made, and now is the time for the great harvest of souls. “You are standing on the threshold of great change. The change has already begun, and nothing, nor no one, will prevent this final harvest of the ages. What I have promised, I shall perform! “This glory will not break forth in just one geographical location, but it will begin to manifest in many places upon the earth almost simultaneously. This will be a quick work. Things will happen so fast that it may take a while to recognize that this is the Lord’s doings. There will become such an overwhelming awareness of God that many office buildings will become spiritual triage centers. Street corners will become healing centers. Warehouses will house large prayer gatherings. School campuses, and even department stores, will experience great visitations as My Spirit moves across the land. Military bases will have some of the mightiest moves of God. Prisons will experience massive conversions. “The greatest hunger will not be in most houses of worship, but it will be on the streets - even in transit systems and secular gatherings. Sounds will arise from city streets of spontaneous outbreaks of powerful worship from hundreds and even thousands of people. But officials and city leaders will not lay a hand upon it, for they will know that this is a holy thing. “You have heard about these things in previous outpourings, but in this Awakening, you will see it! It shall be broadcast far and wide. “I am calling upon you to prepare your hearts now. Call upon Me. Seek Me now. Open your hearts to My Spirit. I will show you what to pray. I will reveal timing to you. You will know what you must know. The time to seek Me is now! There are evil powers at work. Call upon My Name. Proclaim My Name to this generation, and you will see the salvation of the Lord! “This is the word of the Lord.” Keep praying, asking Holy Spirit to pour Himself out on the young generation here in America and around the world. Obviously, it will not be limited only to them, but for a long time, many of us have felt that it will begin with them. Millions will come to Christ. Pray with me: Father, thank You for continuing to encourage and lead us as we pray for the release of Your great Holy Spirit outpouring. We are confident this has begun and will continue. In the dream, You said, “Do NOT doubt this.” We do not. We’re confident the prophetic arrows of deliverance and fire are positioned for the great release. They possess “Fire Power,” revival water, and glory. You also said, “This is how America shall be saved.” Revival will save America. We ask for the arrows to be released NOW! And we decree Your promise: “Arrows of the Lord’s deliverance, be released!” Release Your Kingdom power and authority into America. As Your voice on earth, we command the release of life. We command the release of deliverance, of new beginnings, of healed minds and bodies. And we command the breaking of all opposition, the tearing down of strongholds. Continue to pour out your spirit at Asbury and other colleges around America. What you showed me in 2001 became an unstoppable movement of holy fire. Millions of people were saved and delivered. The Asbury Revival Many have contacted DSM asking if I’ve heard about the Asbury Revival and, if so, do I think it is the beginning of what I saw in a vision the week of 9/11/01. (I shared the vision on Flashpoint a couple of weeks ago.) I started hearing about this outpouring almost immediately, and I do believe it could be the beginning of what I saw. I have been very excited about what I’m seeing and hearing in this revival: ongoing worship and passion for Christ led by the students; heartfelt contrition and repentance of sin; the obvious lingering presence of Holy Spirit; grassroots-led versus initiated and controlled by individuals; such hunger for His presence that classes are canceled - these characteristics all describe what I saw in the vision. Many videos and first-hand reports are circulating online. People are beginning to travel from elsewhere to experience what is occurring at Asbury. As of yesterday, 22 colleges had sent groups of their students to the Asbury campus, believing for an impartation. The following report is from a seminary professor who visited the meeting: “…two things stood out to me. First, there was a noticeable lack of tension in my body. I was completely relaxed. There was also a complete lack of mental tension or distraction. My mind was at utter peace. And I had only been there for ten minutes. “The second thing I recall thinking is that I could sit here in this chair forever. The desire to linger indefinitely was quite unexpected. I had planned to pop in for a few minutes before returning to work. Suddenly, work was the farthest thing from my mind. “I wound up staying for well over an hour. In the time that I was there, I could not get over certain distinctive qualities about the atmosphere. The words that came to mind were: gentle, sweet, peaceful, serene, tender, still. Some people were singing. Others were talking. Many were praying. But there was something like a blessed stillness permeating the place. No one was swinging from the chandeliers. [Extreme emotional manifestations] In fact, it was right the opposite. What made this so wild was just how un-wild the whole thing was ... is. “…the peacefulness in that place is so palpable that [the first] ten minutes had made an impression that will last the remainder of my lifetime. (1) This and other reports are incredibly encouraging. Jim Garlow shared these exciting first-hand reports from others: "I'm in Hughes now. It's getting deeper and wider!’ “Another report: ‘More are arriving. WORSHIP!!’ “A third person: ‘There's an uproar coming from Hughes tonight. A TANGIBLE thickness is present, and there is a weight in the air. People keep pouring in.’ “Also, I was just told a busload of students from Indiana Wesleyan University is on the way. And was just told that the Asbury revival has now impacted campus number 2: Ohio Christian University.”(2) There can be no doubt that this is a move of Holy Spirit. It seems there is a well of revival at Asbury which Holy Spirit keeps reopening. The following article shares some of Asbury’s revival history: “Asbury University has been known through the years for its history of great revivals. There have been several occasions when significant moves of the Holy Spirit have swept the campus and reached across the nation. “In February 1905, during a blizzard, a prayer meeting in the men’s dormitory spilled out to the rest of campus and the town of Wilmore. “In February 1908, revival broke out while someone prayed in chapel; the revival lasted two weeks and was signified by prevailing prayer and intercession. “In February 1921, the last service of a planned revival lasted until 6 a.m., and services were extended for three days. “In February 1950, a student testimony led to confessions, victories, and more testimonies. This went on uninterrupted for 118 hours and became the second leading news story nationwide; it is estimated that 50,000 people found a new experience in Christ as a result of this revival and witness teams that went out from it. “In March 1958, revival began in a student fasting prayer meeting that spilled over into chapel and lasted for 63 hours. “On February 3, 1970, Dean Custer B. Reynolds, scheduled to speak in chapel, felt led to invite persons to give personal testimony instead. Many on campus had been praying for spiritual renewal and were now in an expectant mood. Soon there was a large group waiting in line to speak. A spirit of powerful revival came upon the congregation. The chapel was filled with rejoicing people. Classes were canceled for a week during the 144 hours of unbroken revival, but even after classes resumed on February 10, Hughes Auditorium was left open for prayer and testimony. These sessions were presided over by Reynolds, Clarence Hunter, and other faculty. Some 2,000 witness teams went out from Wilmore to churches and at least 130 college campuses around the nation. “In March 1992, a student confession during the closing chapel of the annual Holiness Conference turned into 127 consecutive hours of prayer and praise. “In February 2006, a student chapel led to four days of continuous worship, prayer, and praise.”(3) Messiah Missions shares more details of the 1970 revival, which spread from there to the nation and nations: “Intermittently, it continued for weeks. Ultimately, it spread across the United States and into foreign countries. Some say it is being felt even today… “A bigger outbreak – a global revival, in fact – will begin soon, says David McKenna, president of adjacent Asbury Theological Seminary, in his new book, The Coming Great Awakening. “The revival might not start at Asbury, but it probably will begin on campuses, says McKenna, a noted author. He travels to many colleges and says, ‘I see the signs wherever I go.’ “Those signs include a generation of students wounded by family breakdowns and searching for spiritual fulfillment.”(4) And from my friend, Rick Curry, who carries a great passion and anointing for revival. He sent this during his visit to the Asbury campus. “This revival is as a deep flowing river of humility, repentance, and brokenness. The services are filled with student-led worship and powerful testimony of God’s power at work in the lives of a young generation. Now, people are flooding into this quiet and otherwise sleepy little town. The students have led revival now nonstop since chapel last Wednesday (2/8/2023). “I am listening now to testimonies of the fire of God transforming lives. A young female student who was full of fear and suicidal just had a radical encounter of the love of God setting her free. A young lady who came to the revival from Indiana testified she was standing on the outside wall of Hughes Auditorium, when a lady with a young girl ran towards her from the other side of the room. The young girl had a rare disease and her mom felt this lady was to pray for her. Turns out the lady is a doctor who specializes in that specific disease - and the daughter was completely healed. “So much more, Dutch. It’s a very different atmosphere. Amazing.”(5) Pray with me: Father, we know You are planning big things. The Kingdom of Christ is ever-increasing (Isaiah 9:7), going from glory to glory and strength to strength. A part of these extraordinary efforts will involve young people around the world. You have no intention of leaving them without a true witness of who You really are. Since You work through our prayers, we ask for this. Thank You for the outpouring at Asbury College, which is now bleeding into other colleges. God of revival, do it again! Open this well wider than it has ever been opened. Dig it deeper and connect it to the river that flows from You and Your throne (Revelation 22:1-2). This is a thirst-quenching river, a life-changing river, a nation-healing river. And Father, cause this and other outpourings to expand to those who don’t yet know You. They’re thirsty for You, they just don’t know it. Rescue them from the demonic movements attempting to steal their futures, their destinies, their posterities. Deliver them with the greatest outpouring of Holy Spirit ever experienced on Earth. In the vision You gave me in 2001, the revival couldn’t be stopped. We agree with that now: it won’t be stopped! Reformation On Friday night (2/10/23), I was in Ohio with my brother, Tim, and several other great leaders. Holy Spirit moved in a marvelous way. The theme became the subject of “Reformation.” Though I have recently taught some of the information, in today’s post, I felt it would be appropriate to do so again. We cannot hear this too much! Several years ago, the Lord showed me the important differences between Christ’s great commissions of Mark 16:15-18 and Matthew 28:18-20. Each corresponds to one of the two commissions God gave humankind through Adam and Eve in Genesis 1:26-28. The first of these assignments or commissions was to be fruitful and multiply: “Give me more kids,” God said. Imagine that - giving God a family. The second commission was to steward, manage, or govern the earth. “You will represent My kingdom’s government on this outpost of the Kingdom,” He told them. As we know, both of these plans were interrupted at the Fall. God temporarily lost His family and His ambassadors on the earth. Jesus, of course, was sent to undo this interruption and restore the plan. This is what Christ was referring to when He said in Matthew 16:18-19, “I will build my Church…” The word “build” is oikodomeo (Strongs 3618, 3624), which means to build a family or household. In choosing this word Christ was saying, “I’ve come to get the family back!” “Church” is the word ekklesia (Strongs 1577), meaning a legislative, governing assembly. As I have explained before, by choosing this word, Jesus was saying, “I have come to reestablish My family as My Kingdom government on earth.” Christ’s other comments amplified and explained this further. He went on to say that this Ekklesia would be given His Kingdom authority (“keys”), to bind and loose (lock and unlock, forbid and allow) and that the government (“gates”) of hell would not overpower them. After reversing the setbacks and reestablishing these two plans at the Cross, Jesus re-commissioned His followers in Mark 16:15-18 and Matthew 28:18-20. The two commissions are different. In Mark’s gospel He said to go and preach the good news so that humans can be delivered, healed, filled with Holy Spirit, and be part of God’s family once again. In other words, He told them to “be fruitful and multiply! Give me more kids!” When this occurs with great momentum, we call it revival or awakening. Only after this occurs can we accomplish the second commission. In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus re-commissioned us to disciple nations according to His teachings. “As My Ekklesia, You have My authority. In My name instruct and disciple nations according to My ways and principles,” He instructed us. This results in transformation or reformation. Both of these activities - not one or the other - are absolutely essential. To understand them more fully, here are a few comparisons and differences between awakening and reformation. Awakening (Mark 16) brings people into God’s family; Reformation (Matthew 28) teaches them His ways. Awakening births them spiritually; Reformation trains them practically. Awakening changes the human heart; Reformation changes the human mind (the thinking). Awakening is internal (takes place with in us); Reformation is external (is worked out from/by us). Awakening is accomplished through preaching; Reformation takes place through teaching. Awakening produces converts; Reformation produces disciples. Awakening releases God’s life; Reformation establishes His laws, principles, and ways. Awakening saves the individual; Reformation saves regions/nations. Awakening produces a family, a bride, worshippers; Reformation produces an Ekklesia, those who govern, manage, and steward In most revivals, believers think only of getting people saved, born again (Mark 16). This, of course, is essential and must be the starting point - birthing obviously precedes training. But if Matthew 28 - the reforming and discipling of individuals and nations - doesn’t occur, the long-term fruit will be minimal and can even be lost. The great Charismatic Movement of the late 60’s through the early 80’s, which included the Jesus People Movement, saw tens of millions of people saved around the world. It was a wonderful example of Mark 16 occurring with great momentum, a significant revival. However, there was little understanding of our calling to do Matthew 28. The concept of discipling that existed at the time, was limited to the discipling of individuals who came to Christ, not the discipling of nations, societies, and cultures. Discipling nations involves and includes government, education, and all other societal institutions. It is certainly NOT a dictating or forcing of God’s laws upon people and nations, but rather teaching and demonstrating His ways and principles at every level and in every sector of society. Salvation opens the heart and will of people to this, which is why it must occur first. When they are born again, Holy Spirit writes God’s laws in their hearts, making them open to and hungry for His truth, possessing a strong desire to pursue and find it. Also, their conscience comes alive, active. When a nation experiences significant revival, the portion of the populace affected by it does not have to be forced to implement God’s will and ways. They desire to do His will, to obey Him. But they and their children must be taught, retrained, their thinking reformed. If this does not occur, satan attempts to counteract and defile the revival by infusing wrong thinking, ideas, philosophies, etc., into the culture. Sadly, during the Jesus Movement/Charismatic Movement of the ‘70s, Christians did Mark 16 only. While millions of people were being saved, humanists, secularists and atheists were busy doing their version of Matthew 28 - discipling a nation. We saved individuals, they discipled a nation. We preached the gospel; unbelievers taught dogmas and doctrines. We went to church; they went to our schools and universities. We gathered on weekends; they gathered all week. We enjoyed Christian TV; they made movies, programs, and eventually took over the industry. We sang and worshipped at church; they took over the airwaves and discipled a generation with their music. The result: we experienced one of the greatest revivals in history…AND LOST OUR NATION! This is almost incomprehensible! Yet, it occurred. Now, the generation that humanists, secularists, and atheists discipled is in charge of our nation - governing, teaching, entertaining and informing. This is the fruit of Mark 16…without Matthew 28. However, there is another powerful outpouring of Holy Spirit coming that will produce both awakening AND transformation, refreshing AND reformation. The body of Christ will accomplish both commissions. This will produce the greatest transformation on Earth since the Cross! Indeed, it will be the full outworking of what Christ accomplished at the Cross. Pray with me: Father, You created family members in Genesis 1. Then You assigned them the responsibility of multiplying and managing their home, planet Earth. This intent/plan of Yours is still intact. Jesus redeemed it. And He said He was building an Ekklesia, a family the gates/government of hell would not be able to overcome. He then recommissioned us to begin again the plan of multiplying Your family, and of stewarding the earth for You. We embrace these commissions! This 2-fold plan is gaining momentum. Christ’s bride is growing in numbers and the Ekklesia’s revelation of who we are in Him is increasing. Bring another wind that increases this even more. Cause the greatest season of awakening and reformation in earth’s history to now take place - Mark 16 and Matthew 28 simultaneously. Release the greatest wind of evangelism the world has ever experienced. And may the Ekklesia fully reveal Christ among the nations. We love You, Father, and pray these things in the name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen. Our decree: We decree that the Great Commissions of Christ WILL be fulfilled by His legislative bride! That’s Who He Is… Recently, Holy Spirit spoke to my friend, Chuck Pierce, the phrase, “There will be a return to Gilgal.” This is a positive statement, taken from Israel’s crossing of the Jordan into the promised land. Gilgal means “rolling,” and there the Lord said He had rolled off them the reproach of Egypt. The crossing of the Jordan pictures the Cross and resurrection, which rolled away humankind’s reproach and spiritual death. I have had much positive feedback from the Gilgal posts. If you haven’t seen or heard them, I encourage you to check them out. Yesterday we looked at another place, Bochim, which means “weeping.” Judges 2 tells us that, due to Israel’s later compromise, the angel of the Lord moved from Gilgal to Bochim, where he pronounced their ensuing judgment. We believe America is now at Bochim, but God will restore us - “there will be a return to Gilgal.” Yesterday’s post was difficult to write and even tougher to record. Acknowledging America’s broken condition is heartbreaking for me, as I’m sure it is for you. We are in such dark times. Had I not experienced more than one significant encounter with the Lord during which He showed me the coming revival; had these visitations not been confirmed by other trusted leaders who are also saying America will be saved; if not for these prophetic words and encounters, I would perhaps have wavered in my faith for America’s recovery. But I am confident I have heard from Holy Spirit regarding this. He is determined to reap the greatest harvest of souls ever, He needs America free and reconnected to Him in order to do this, and a remnant is asking Him for it. When we ask for anything according to His will, He hears us; and when we know He hears us, we know we have the requests for which we’ve asked (1 John 5:14-15). We will make it out of Bochim. I want to encourage you today by emphasizing the incredible power and wisdom of God. It will require His miraculous power to roll back death in America, but He will release this power and break death’s hold. At Joshua’s crossing, the Lord told them to “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you,” (Joshua 3:5). He will do the same for us. THE FLOODED JORDAN Joshua 3:15 tells us the Jordan was flooded when God cut it off 18 miles upstream. The Jordan River is usually around 30 yards wide and 3-4 feet deep. Because it was in flood stage, however, it would have been a mile or so wide and much deeper in this part of the Jordan Valley. To truly understand the scope of this miracle, one needs to picture a flooded, raging, mile-wide river being stopped. And also, for them to cross on dry ground (Joshua 3:17) 18 miles of flooded river had to disappear, and the riverbed dry up almost immediately! No waiting several days for 18 miles of water to flow downstream. No days of waiting for the ground to dry out, so they wouldn’t have to traipse through muck and mire. No. Dry ground. Immediately. When God decides to cut off the flow of death, He has the power to do so. THE FAITH REQUIREMENT It required great faith for Joshua and the priests carrying the Ark to cooperate with Yahweh, allowing Him to work this miracle. Can you imagine Joshua’s reaction when the Lord told him, “Within three days you are to cross THIS Jordan…” (Joshua 1:11) Not the Jordan 6 months from now. This one! And the Ark, carried by the priests, had to enter the river first (Joshua 3). The priests were told the water wouldn’t dry up until the feet of those carrying it were IN THE WATER! (Verses 13, 17) “Walk on out there, Levi. The rest of you guys, follow him. Don’t worry; all of that water will just vanish. And don’t drop the Ark, housing the glory of God on the way into the water!” That took some faith! I wonder if today’s leaders, the “Joshua’s” of our day, will have enough faith - in spite of the flood of evil - to announce that it’s time to cross over…to declare that it is time for “wonders.“ Will the “priests” of our day have enough faith to carry the Ark into America’s flood of death? Yahweh won’t roll back the water until He receives a faith response. Feet will have to get wet before He acts. But if we will, He will. I believe I know the answer to these questions. There ARE leaders who are filled with faith and unafraid of the Jordan. If you are one of them, I say to you, “Walk! Put the glory of God on your shoulders and walk. Announce to your congregations, ‘It’s time! Time to reap. Time to heal the sick. Time to cast out demons. Time to return to Gilgal!’” THE CAPTAIN After Yahweh’s great announcement at Gilgal, Joshua hiked to nearby Jericho in order to check it out. He evidently knew this would be the first city they were to conquer. It was probably the most impregnable and fortified city in all of Canaan. First, the impassable flooded Jordan, then this impenetrable, fortified Jericho. God was nothing if not consistent! Taking on Jericho was going to require a lot of faith! So, the Captain Himself made a personal visit to Joshua (Joshua 5:13-6:5). The word for “captain” is sar (Strong’s 8269), from sarar (Strong’s 8323). The word doesn’t literally mean a captain, but is a general term meaning “one with dominion; to reign or govern as a prince.” It can also mean “a general, a governor, a lord, or master.” Zodhiates says, “the primary usage is that this individual has immediate authority as the leader,” This warrior was Christ Himself! Circumcision had occurred, Egypt’s reproach was lifted, Passover was honored - and the Captain showed up. First, He came as the Savior, the Passover Lamb. Then He came as the Captain, the Warrior, the Lion. And He didn’t come to take sides, as the old preacher said, He came to take over. “Are You for us, or for our adversaries?” Joshua asked him. (Joshua 5:13) “No,” said the Captain. The angels must have chuckled. “I’m here to take charge of possessing this land” (Joshua 5:14). And He did. Many years later, after He was baptized in this same river at most likely the same place, Jesus fulfilled this picture from Joshua. He crossed into the promised land and began working wonders. Some scholars believe that as a fulfillment of Joshua’s crossing and Canaan’s conquest, Christ - after leaving the Jordan - actually followed the literal path Joshua took in possessing the land! The “Captain” had come again. The One with authority. Here to take over. Conquering sickness, despair, demons, death, hell and the grave. That’s who He is, and that’s what He does. And Christ is coming again to this nation and the nations. Not just with His literal return to earth, but first, a spiritual visit in order to pour out His Spirit once again. He will lead us out of the darkness of Bochim and back to Gilgal. He will perform a fresh baptism of fire, fill us with His Spirit, and lead us into the greatest conquest, the greatest harvest in history. That’s who He is, and that’s what He does. Pray with me: Father, You are the way-maker, the miracle worker. You work wonders, and this is not even challenging for You. When the right time comes, You can do what You said You would do. You will most assuredly be able to roll back the waters of death in America and elsewhere. You can resurrect dry bones, produce streams in the desert, raise up nations, and overthrow nations. Our faith in Your heart to redeem and save cannot be shaken. We are not trying to persuade You to save people here and around the world. You want to do this more than we want to see it. “For God so loved the world” is Your eternal declaration. Because of this, we WILL exit Bochim and return to Gilgal. You will break the back of the evil systems, strongholds, and spiritual giants ruling our nation and revive us again. And we are ready to carry You, Your presence, Your glory, on our shoulders into the flood of death. We do not need to see everything change before believing everything will change. We do not have to see the Jordan rolled back to know it will roll back. We are ready. Strengthen the remnant. Strengthen your leaders. Give them courage. Give them renewed faith and vision. May they hear Your command and recognize You as the Supreme Leader You are. We ask and declare these things in the holy name of the Captain, the Head, the risen Lord. Amen. The Place of Weeping “Now the angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim.” (Judges 2:1) We have been discussing the word Holy Spirit gave to Chuck Pierce: “There will be a return to Gilgal.” On Give Him 15 for the last two days, we’ve said much about Gilgal and what occurred there. Gilgal, as we know, means “rolling” and was named this because there the Lord announced that He had rolled off of Israel the reproach of Egypt (Joshua 5:9). Today, we will look at a different scenario regarding Gilgal. The book of Judges, on the heels of Joshua, is a series of accounts in which Israel rejected Yahweh and suffered great devastation as a result. Joshua had led them in conquest of the land, and distributed their inheritances to all the tribes. It was left up to them, individually, to finish the work of possessing the land, thoroughly driving out remaining pockets of resistance in their territories. The first chapter of Judges is a sad account of their failure to do so. Eight times the words “did not” occur, describing various tribes’ failures (Judges 1:21, 27-34). In the second chapter of Judges, “The angel of the Lord” who had announced Israel’s great new beginning at Gilgal, suddenly relocated from there to Bochim. Bochim means “the place of weeping.” No longer able to address them from the place of blessing, the angel makes a symbolic move to Bochim in order to make the following tragic announcement: And he said, “I brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land which I have sworn to your fathers; and I said, ‘I will never break My covenant with you, and as for you, you shall not make a covenant with the inhabitants of this land; you shall tear down their altars.’ But you have not obeyed Me; what is this thing that you have done? Therefore I also said, ‘I will not drive them out from you; but they will become like thorns in your sides, and their gods will be a snare to you.’” Now, when the angel of the Lord spoke these words to all the sons of Israel, the people raised their voices and wept. So they named that place Bochim; and there they sacrificed to the Lord.” (Judges 2.1-5 NASB) Israel’s failure to obey Yahweh fully resulted in tragedy and devastation. Over time, they mixed with the Canaanites, intermarried with them, made covenants with them, did not tear down their idols, and eventually served and worshiped their gods. “They forsook the Lord and served Baal and the Ashtaroth” (Judges 2:13). Remember, the depraved religion of Baal worship involved all sorts of perversions, as well as the heinous practice of child sacrifice. It was EVIL. The results of this compromise brought pain and tears…and a return of shame and reproach. Shortly after this, Joshua and the elder generation all passed away, and the next layer of devastation began: “All that generation also were gathered to their fathers; and another generation rose up after them who did not know the Lord, nor even the work which He had done for Israel.” (Judges 2:10 NASB) Israel had not obeyed God’s instructions to teach their children His faithfulness, laws, and ways. As a result, things went from bad to worse. One of the darkest times of Israel’s history occurred, summarized by the phrase: “everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” (Judges 17:6; 21, 25) Are you seeing America yet? As time went on, the evil intensified: “But it came about, when the [Judges] died, that they would turn back and act more corruptly than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them and bow down to them; they did not abandon their practices or their obstinate ways.” (Judges 2:19 NASB) This fruit of Adam’s sin - doing what is right in our own eyes - always leads to Bochim. “The anger of the Lord burned against them,” we’re told (Judges 2:14, 20). Enemies were allowed to oppress them, and tragedy after tragedy occurred. Still, God was always merciful, and continuously remembered His covenant with them. When they repented, He would send relief. AMERICA Let’s make the connection to today’s America. No nation has ever been given an inheritance as amazing as America’s land of bounty and beauty. It is truly beyond description. Our forefathers planted a cross at Cape Henry, entered into covenant with God to obey Him and serve His purposes, and consequently lived at Gilgal, enjoying His blessings. There have been seasons of compromise and sin for which we, like Israel, have paid heavy prices. We’ve had our Bochim seasons, the most glaring of which was the Civil War. Yet, despite the setbacks, we have always made our way back to Gilgal. We now find ourselves listening to the angel weep at Bochim once again. I wept with Him for three and a half hours one night in 2000. It was gut-wrenching. We wept over America’s rejection of Abba, our loss of decency, virtue, and strength, the sacrifice of millions of babies to Baal, and much more. Sadly, we are still at Bochim. Life has been cheapened, many of our leaders foster hatred and seek to divide us for political gain, truth no longer matters to much of the nation, we have no borders, satanic rituals are celebrated on prime-time TV, God is mocked, perverts are praised, the baby death toll is at 63 million and counting, and a demented man is in charge…so they say. Are you weeping yet? The good news? The prophet said, “There will be a return to Gilgal.” And there will. But I have been telling you things will get worse before they get better. That was before satan‘s worship service won the Grammy, the Chinese balloon took pictures of our military bases, and our so-called commander-in-chief lied to the nation for an hour and a half two nights ago. If you haven’t yet listened to it, don’t waste your time. However, do yourself a favor and listen to Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ response. It’s only 15 minutes and will move you to tears. I don’t know how bad things will get before revival begins to truly transform our nation and God can move us back to Gilgal. I do know we are going there. And I do believe, as I said in yesterday‘s post, our prayers can shorten this time at Bochim, and lessen the pain that many have and will continue to experience. Keep praying! We are saving a nation. Pray with me: Father, You have wept over America - Your angel weeps even now at Bochim. But Your Spirit has sounded the alarm, awakened the warriors, and Americans everywhere are rising up. Holy Spirit is faithfully reminding us, over and over, that we are being offered mercy. We don’t know how You will turn around some of our mess and heal us of our self-inflicted wounds, but we believe You are going to do just as You have said. And because we know all that You do is motivated by love and guided by mercy, we ask You to shake whatever needs to be shaken, uproot what needs to be uprooted, and overthrow what needs to be overthrown…so that You can heal this land and return us to Gilgal. You have told us what eventually takes place when those who arrogantly oppose You, declaring that You won’t rule over them. You laugh a terrifying laugh of derision over their unified plans and schemes. You mock the mockers. Then You declare Your Son’s ownership of the earth and offer the only two choices available: Kiss the Son or perish (Psalm 2). We hear this now. And we know millions will kiss the Son. Draw them in!
