Calling For Angelic Assistance “There is a lot of angelic activity right now and, with that, there’s so much violence in the heavens. There’s so much going on that you need to believe God for the promise in Hebrews 1:14, that the angels are ministering spirits sent to the heirs of salvation. And the Lord just says, ‘Understand that there is a battle over your destiny. There is a battle over your life. There’s a battle over your emotions. There’s a battle over all your family.’ So, just don’t lay down and get depressed, or lay down and just say, ‘Oh God you don’t love me. All this stuff is happening.’ You need to rise up. So, rise up! I’m speaking to you to rise up. I’m saying to you, ‘Don’t declare detente to the enemy.’ Understand that there’s a battle waging, but there are many more fighting for you than against you, and you are loved by Father God. You are loved, He is with you. He is sending His heavenly hosts to do battle, and you’re going to win.” (Cindy Jacobs)1 “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14; NIV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Bind the powers of darkness over your life and over any challenging life circumstances you are facing. Thank God for sending warring angels to war for you and your future in Him. Ask God to help you see how the angels war over those who have come to know Christ. Respond to the prophetic Word above and rise up! Call for the release of the ministering angels! Declare there will be national victory over all the enemy is trying to do to cause so much chaos! A prayer you can pray:1 “In the name of Jesus, I bind the powers of darkness and follow God. Thank you for sending your warring angels to now fight in the heavens for my family, and who fight for my destiny. I understand that as I pray, I see what happened in the book of Daniel where the angels began to fight. I will respond to the prophet saying, “Rise up.” I believe I am being protected in the unseen realm, and Father God, I pray that you will send angels even now – messenger angels to give direction. Send messenger angels to give wisdom. Send messenger angels, so your people will know what to do, when to do it, and what choices to make. May the Church rise up against the enemy of this nation! In Jesus’ Name, amen. Today’s decree: I decree that God is sending ministering spirits to serve those who are His, as the need is great! 1 Excerpt from a Word of Encouragement by Cindy Jacobs released 9/5/17.

A Humble Request The Ekklesia is standing firm. We are those in relationship with the Living God! We are Kingdom advancers. We are faith-filled Believers. We don’t back down in the face of adversity. Today, I listened in on a conference call with other prayer leaders regarding Hurricane Irma. Appointed prayer warriors humbled themselves in repentance for their state’s and this nation’s corporate sin and thanked God for His loving forgiveness and forgetfulness. Then, they thanked Him for sparing their state from the full effect of the storm. I think God loved that! I think He will answer their humble request. “Then you called out to God in your desperate condition; he got you out in the nick of time. He quieted the wind down to a whisper, put a muzzle on all the big waves. And you were so glad when the storm died down, and he led you safely back to harbor. So thank God for his marvelous love, for his miracle mercy to the children he loves.” (Psalm 107:28-31; MSG) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Don’t let your faith waiver as you watch the news about Hurricane Irma, Church. Worship the Lord until you feel strong in the Lord. Repentance clears the way for humble intercession. Repent today of anything that could be in the way between you and the Lord. Read Psalm 107:28-31 above and think of the times He has saved you – so many times. Thank God for His love and mercy. Intercede for Florida and other areas in the storm’s path to experience God’s love and mercy. A prayer you can pray: Father, the news about the storm can be frightening at times. If I didn’t know You so well, it could shake my faith. Help me to keep my eyes on You. (Worship Him for a bit until you feel His strong Presence.) (Move into personal repentance, so your mind and heart and intercession will be unburdened.) (Read Psalm 107: 28-31 above.)Remind me of all the times You have saved me, so I can recount them before You. They have been far more than I can remember or even know, I’m sure. You can save me and You can save Florida and this nation from any storm’s destruction. Show forth Your love and mercy, Lord, as Your Body humbly seeks You about this today. Amen. Today’s decree: I look to You, God, to quiet Irma’s wind to a whisper and put a muzzle on all the big waves!

Is America Experiencing the Judgement of God? Some Christians believe these storms and fires happening in America are God’s judgement on our nation. We are certainly an imperfect nation and we probably deserve judgement. So, let’s look at what the Word says. God judges sin. However, God’s plan is always to bring men to repentance and salvation – not to destroy. Only modern-day Pharisees want to see the lost or a nation, en masse, crushed under the consequences of their sin! God’s plan of salvation through Jesus Christ was that His kindness would lead men to repentance. Jesus Christ came to seek and save the lost and to deliver us from all the works of the evil one. He is more merciful and long-suffering than we can imagine. We live in a fallen world and the earth is groaning at the weight of it. God is our Savior in the midst of the fire and the storm. “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:17; ESV) “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness!” (Lamentations 3:22-23; ESV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Worship the Lord for His goodness, His mercy, His love, His long-suffering, and His grace! Repent if you see a pharisaical nature in yourself. Be honest with God about this. He already knows. Thank Him for sending Jesus. Thank Jesus that He came. Thank Holy Spirit that He draws us to the Father with outpourings of His love. Let the knowledge that there is a future judgement coming light a fire under you to seek out the lost and lead them to Jesus. Rebuke Hurricane Irma! Call for the rain over the nation’s areas being eaten up by fire. The Ekklesia has authority over the wind and the rain. A prayer you can pray: Oh God, I worship You! You who are wonderful, good, gracious and loving. You have patience with sinners and sinful nations. It is incomprehensible to me. Forgive me when I would condemn, but You are still patiently working to draw everyone possible to Your plan of eternal life in Your Son. Pour out Your love through me. Let me be a light and a place people know they can go to for truth and to find life in Christ. Grant me a measure of Your love and patient endurance, Jesus. In the meantime, I rebuke you, Irma! You may not steal precious lives from those God loves! Rain, fall in the northwest of this nation and mercifully quench the fires that would steal lives and property. God, heal and restore in the Gulf. May the Church shine in this hour, love in this season, and cast the devil’s work out of our nation. Amen. Today’s decree: I decree that God sent His Son to seek and save the lost. The Ekklesia will partner with the Lord to undo all the works of the evil one, so that Jesus’ love might be fully revealed.

Is Hurricane Irma Another National Threat? Yesterday we got the news that Puerto Rico and South Florida are possibly in the path of Category 4 Hurricane Irma. This hurricane is out in the Atlantic, but is moving swiftly to the west. Faith-filled ones, our eyes are going to be fixed firmly on the Lord and His promises to us. We will seek Him and intercede for this storm to dissipate out over the Atlantic. Puerto Ricans and Floridians, make preparations, but do not fall into fear. God will deliver you! “And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep. And they went and woke him, saying, ‘Save us, Lord; we are perishing.’ And he said to them, ‘Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?’ Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, ‘What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?’” (Matthew 8:23-27; ESV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Who will you believe – the Word of the Lord or the newscasters? God is able to still the storm. Declare Matthew 8:23-27 out loud and make sure you believe it. Rebuke the storm. Rebuke Irma and its wind and waves. Command it to fall apart safely in the midst of the ocean. You don’t even need to get loud. Just act on His Word. Pray against any panic among those reading the news reports. Pray that they will reach out to God and that Believers are ready to introduce them to the One that cares the most about them. Pray that the Church is ready to respond in love to those that are afraid. A prayer you can pray: Father, I thank You for Your Word! I will devour it looking for truth and the way to know You and Your ways more fully. As I read Matthew 8:23-27, cause the words to come alive within me and change my thinking. (Read it out loud.) Taking hold of this truth, I rebuke Irma in the name of Jesus Christ. I command the storm to fizzle to nothing while it is still far from land. I command it to fall apart now, in Jesus’ name. Holy Spirit comfort the frightened through the love of Your Church in the areas the media said the storm could hit. I pray that many would find Jesus through our love. Amen. Today’s decree: Irma, be still!

Fires in the North As soon as some of you read the prayer focus yesterday about Hurricane Harvey and the flooding in Texas, a few of you mentioned the fires in the north. The comments were along the lines of, “don’t forget us!” We won’t. Our scripture yesterday was the first half of Isaiah 43:2 about God being with us in the floods. The second half talks about Him being with us in the fire. Parts of Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and parts of California are experiencing massive wildfires that are affecting many people’s lives. We are here with you! You are not alone. “When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” (Isaiah 43:2b; NIV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: The wildfires in Montana have been blazing for more than a month. Now, other states are burning. Cry out to God for mercy and rain! Intercede for the firefighters and other emergency responders. These are massive blazes and they are tired. Pray for relief! Pray for all who have lost homes, property, and animals in the fires. Ask God to comfort them. Pray for Believers to be bold in their faith now and reach out to the lost and hurting with no hope. Ask God for sparks of revival across the northwest! A prayer you can pray: Father, I decree that those in the fire zones of Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and California are not forgotten. The tragedy they are facing is a critical need in our nation, as well as the hurricane aftermath. Lord, send help! Send relief for those fighting the fire. Provide for the individuals facing the loss of everything. Don’t let their needs be forgotten or ignored. Let Your people rise up and bring Jesus into the situation near them. Turn the situation against the enemy and let revival be sparked in these areas. Amen. Today’s decree: I decree that Your children in the fire zone will have testimonies of God’s hand of protection over their families, pets, and property!

National Day of Prayer for Hurricane Harvey “Texas Governor Greg Abbott set aside this Sunday, 9/3, as a day of prayer for Texas after Hurricane Harvey. You can see the proclamation here. Soon after, President Donald Trump signed an additional proclamation for ‘September 3, 2017, as a National Day of Prayer for the Victims of Hurricane Harvey and for our National Response and Recovery Efforts’. You can see it here. Please set aside time today, 9/3/17, to pray for the victims, the emergency responders, and the rebuilding process following this devastating event. It is affecting many more people far outside the Gulf coast of Texas now. If you get this in time, please be sure your pastors know about this set-aside day. Don’t assume they do. Ask them if they will give a few minutes of the Sunday service to praying for this. Prayer leaders, consider facilitating a special-called prayer time or a conference call for this purpose.” (Cindy Jacobs)1 “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.” (Isaiah 43:2a; NIV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:2 Intercede for those who have lost much, that they would recover all. Pray they will not blame God, but will meet those who know Him and love them, and will lead them to the One who cares the most. Pray for the military and emergency responders for safety, and that they would have their own basic needs met, as they sacrifice much to help others. Ask God to let kindness, unity, mutual respect, care and concern, and a tremendous outpouring of sacrificial giving be seen in Texas through media reports. Declare that this is what a Christian state and nation looks like. Declare that old structures will be uprooted and new, godly roots will be reset in the soil of our nation. Ask God to uproot old, religious structures, structures of rebellion and revolution, structures of immorality, dividing structures supported by hate, fear, and intimidation, and structures built on anything other than truth. A prayer you can pray: Father, my heart is heavy for those who have had to live through Hurricane Harvey’s fury. The loss of life and property and memories is overwhelming. Lord, help those who know you to cling very tightly to You right now. Let them show Your reality to those who don’t yet know You. Strengthen the emergency responders and military and all the volunteers that have gone to help. I declare that the natural is shouting the spiritual! Old structures in Texas and the nation are being uprooted, so fresh, godly roots can be reset in the nation’s soil. Heal our nation, Jesus! Amen. Today’s decree: God has been in the midst of those suffering in the Gulf areas as Hurricane Harvey hit and in the aftermath. I decree that they will see and know His love and reality. 1 Excerpt from a prayer alert released by Cindy Jacobs, 9/1/17. 2 Excerpt from a prayer alert released by Cindy Jacobs, 8/31/17.

Insisting on Tragedy – What Are You Thinking? Has anyone besides me noticed that there are Christians out there – including Bible-believing, Spirit-filled Believers – who are determined that something terrible is going to happen in this nation? I see Christian writers talking about how the protests are going to flare into national anarchy. I see social media posts filled with fear and doom. I have said it before and I will reiterate it here, “Who is your God?!” My God wins! My God wants to step in and undo the works and plans of the enemy. My God is a victorious conqueror that I can count on when I partner with Him in prayer! You can count on Him! Now, get on your knees and pray! “The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:8b; NASB) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Stating truth is not a problem. Determining that there’s nothing that can be done in prayer is. Repent if your faith is lacking. Declare the scripture above three times with passion. Believe it? Commit to filter everything you hear about danger to America through the filter of Who God is and how committed He is to this nation. Defuse violence with your scriptural decrees. Command circumstances to line up with God’s perfect plan and purposes for the United States. Proclaim God’s goodness and mercy to this land. A prayer you can pray: Lord, forgive me when I have gotten sucked into circumstances and forgotten who You are. Forgive me when I let my emotions run away from me and start to believe there are things that You cannot alter or interrupt. Thank you for correcting my thinking today. Of course, You can! (Read the scripture above 3 times with passion.) I will do my best to look at everything I see with eyes on what You can do to change it. Holy Spirit, speak Your will to me and Your decrees to me. Let’s defuse potential violence. Let’s speak peace to storms. Let’s partner in Kingdom-advancing activities, Jesus. Amen. Today’s decree: I decree that the Son of God came to destroy every work of the devil and He will do so in my America!

Swayed By the Truth People are swayed by what they hear. We can’t help it. It is the way we are wired. One verse in a children’s Sunday School song says, “Be careful little ears what you hear…for the Father up above is looking down in love, so be careful little ears what you hear.” The Bible says that we are to keep ourselves from hearing of bloodshed and strife. You know why? It’s because what we hear affects our emotions. We form opinions from how the words strike our soul. If not filtered through the Word of God, words can surely hurt us, and we will hurt others with our words. God would not have His people acting like those who don’t know Him. He wants our ears willed with Truth. We must be sure to fill our ears with Truth – from His Word and filtered through it. What is swaying you – truth or every other thing you hear? “He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking on evil, he will dwell on the heights.” (Isaiah 33:15-16a; ESV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Repent if you fill your ears with news that makes you emotional on a daily basis. Spend time in the Word today. Read Ephesians 1 out loud, so you hear it! Look for the truth and the good news in the media today. Shut your ears today to any negative or emotionally-charged news and see how different you feel. You are honoring God as you do. Tell the Lord you want to be swayed by the truth. Ask Him to show you where truth can be found. A prayer you can pray: Father, forgive me for feeding my ears a diet of negative news. I can see the truth of how it affects me. I want to listen to You, Holy Spirit. I want Your words alone to sway me. I want to fill my mind and my heart with Your words. I will open Your Word and read it daily. I will read it out loud, so my ears hear it and my spirit is fed and my soul is comforted. Let me fast negative news today and see what a difference it makes in my life. Teach me to pray Your life-giving ways into the news that I hear reported in the future, so that I spiritually act, instead of fleshly react. Thank You, Jesus. Amen. Today’s decree: I decree that I will be careful what my ears hear, so that I am swayed by God’s Truth and not man’s emotional reports in the future.

Out With the Old, In With the New When catastrophic events take place, many people’s worlds are turned upside down. It is very hard to make sense of what has happened. Invariably, some people will blame God. Many who know Christ will seek Him for comfort, grace, and strength. Sometimes, Believers will blame the enemy. We live in a fallen world and I don’t personally believe that God causes destruction. I do, however, believe that He can and does turn disastrous situations around for good. He says this in His Word. I think God is already taking the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey and turning it into an opportunity. The hearts of His people are rising and they are becoming His hands and feet to their neighbors in need. Worship is taking place in shelters – honoring God and encouraging the downtrodden. Prayer is happening publicly everywhere – among first responders, other rescue workers, and in the shelters. Church members are being the Church in their communities. God is forming something new. “We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28; WEB) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Go find some pictures of the devastation from Hurricane Harvey. Try to put yourself in the situation tens of thousands are facing on the Gulf coast of Texas. Intercede for those facing losses. Pray for family and friends you know or those your friends know. Pray for some of the strangers you see in the photos. Ask God to meet the greatest needs of their life right now – physical and spiritual. Declare that God will sweep away the darkness and devastation and will give direction and fresh ideas to His people for spiritual and civic renewal. Declare that racial unity, economic unity, and unity in the Body of Christ will be clearly seen. Decide how you will help in some way. You are praying. Are you able to give? Here are a few good places to do so: Somebody Cares, Houston, Samaritan’s Purse, American Red Cross, CarterBloodCare or google local food banks along the coast from Corpus Christi east to Louisiana. A prayer you can pray: Lord, as I look at the pictures on television or the internet that show Harvey’s devastation, deeply touch my heart with Your compassion. Help me to know how people feel and what it would be like not to know where food or water is coming from or where I would be able to get some sleep. Help me to feel what the handicapped are feeling, or young parents with small children, or pet owners who are forced to evacuate. Help me to connect with their losses. Help me to now pray with fervency for the turn-arounds they need in their lives. Give me passion to pray for salvations, miracle provision, and new beginnings. Use this situation to remove old blighted areas and spiritual atmospheres. Give new, fresh, creative ideas to Your Church for rebuilding and renewal. Heal divisions and let the unity be seen publicly, so the enemy’s mouthpieces are shut! Show me how to pray and how to give. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen. Today’s decree: I declare that the Church will be the Church in the areas devastated by Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath, and will bring glory and honor to God!

Stay Focused! We are living in a season in our nation’s history where emotion is running very high. Anger, frustration and fear are being fueled by the media and, especially, by social media venues. The enemy is keeping us distracted by outrageous news and fake news. We are running into blind alleys and down rabbit holes. We can’t correctly pray, because we are being pushed and pulled on emotionally. God would have us enter His Rest. He wants us to press in closely and quietly to Him, so He can show us what’s what, what to say, what to pray, and what to do. Fear is sin. It’s rooted in doubt and unbelief and a lack of knowledge of His loving care for us. If anger is driving our intercession, we can end up praying in direct opposition to what God actually wants to do. Don’t be driven by the devil. Calm down and stay focused on Christ, so He can lead us, guide us and direct us, Ekklesia! “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” (Isaiah 26:3; ESV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Repent if you have been one whose emotions are being driven by news stories, especially those posted on social media. Hear the Lord tell you how loved and forgiven you are. Let His peace wash over you. Worship Him! In this calm place, ask Him what is on His heart to pray. Ask Him what His perspective is. Notice how calm He is about it when He discusses it with you. Intercede for the army of God to enter His Rest, so that together we can calmly and with great faith defeat our nation’s foes. A prayer you can pray: Father, forgive me for being tossed to and for by my emotions. I have gotten caught up in all the craziness that’s out there in the media. I have not been able to discern what’s true and not true in all the stories circulating on social media. I need Your perspective. Thank you for clearing my mind and heart. Thank you for forgiving me. This is one of the things I love about You! Help me get back on track and intercede out of this place of intimacy with You. Help me see things Your way, through Your Word. Give me the words to pray and decree from this place of rest in You. Let’s shift this nation in intercession, Lord! Let’s remove the enemy’s influence from America. In Jesus’ name. Amen. Today’s decree: In quietness and rest in Him, the Ekklesia will find the confidence and trust to secure the future of our nation through prayer and action!

No Ordinary Hurricane Never has a hurricane like Harvey hit the coast of Texas before. Flattening Rockport as it hit the coast, it has not yet stopped causing devastation. Those that felt safe initially are now finding themselves in the most dangerous position – massive rainfall and widespread flooding. The greater Houston area has thousands homeless, many of whom are dealing with food and water shortages. The news is reporting that it isn’t over yet. It’s hard to imagine that it could be worse. It is important at times like this to let Christ rise within us, and let His love and light shine though us as we pray and help in any way we can. The world is not just watching the drama unfold in Texas, they are watching to see what the Christian conservative response is going to be, as that is the state’s reputation. “But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me.” (Luke 21:13; NLT) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Intercede for every person in need tonight. Ask God for grace and pray that help gets to where it is most needed. Intercede for all of the hundreds of volunteers. There are local emergency responders, as well as hundreds coming from across Texas and from other states. Governor Abbott called out 12,000 National Guardsmen. Private citizens with trucks and boats have headed to the Gulf. Pastors have opened their churches and many other civic employees and local residents are helping in rescue efforts, as well. Stand in the gap against violence, hate, crime, and other negative attitudes and actions. Ask the Lord to pour His love and miracles out through His Church in the area. Pray that many who are lost would cry out for Jesus to save them in this time of tragedy. Pray that the two would come together. Command the storm to dissipate in Jesus’ Name! A prayer you can pray: Father, there are so many in need across the Gulf Coast of Texas tonight. It is overwhelming to watch and even hard to know where to begin to pray. You can see it all and You are able to lead Your people to exactly where they are most needed today. I pray You would provide supernatural grace to the army of volunteers. Keep them safe as they help others to safety. Lord, I stand against demonic actions and attitudes in this crisis. Keep the area safe from criminal activities and any form of hatred and divisiveness. There is no room for that now. Let Your Church be examples of the Believers in every regard, loving and caring for the needs of others, helping in any way they can. I pray that the lost would see Jesus in Your people and ask how they can know Christ. Additionally, I command the storm to cease in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Today’s decree: God is able to turn the storms of life, such as Hurricane Harvey, into life-giving, life-changing moments where Christ’s love and care is clearly seen and where many come to know His deep, enduring love.

Dream About a Leaky Camper I have a friend, Matt Lockett, who had a dream just before the elections. In the dream, President Trump had won. Matt was in a camper with the President who was telling him how he had won the election. Matt knew that the camper represented Trump’s “camp” or administration. Trump went over to lay down on his bunk. A tremendous deluge came over the pillow right where the President’s head would be. His head refers to his authority and government. This massive leak looked like it was almost going to drown him. Then, something the eye could not see diverted the deluge and the leak could not destroy him. Never in a thousand years would I have believed that the number one thing the enemy would use to render the President ineffective to do what the nation needs right now would be leaks! Or, that people in his own camp would be trying to take him out. “I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27; ESV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Declare that the leaks from inside the White House “camp” will be sealed up by the Lord. Ask the Lord to give our President wisdom in his new choices for Cabinet members and staff. Decree that any leakers that are still hidden will be found out and removed. Ask God to help the Ekklesia stay focused and not go on spiritual “witch hunts”. There is a lot of emotion driving intercession right now. Emotion keeps us from seeing and hearing clearly. It keeps us earth bound. Intercede for President Trump’s court appointments to go forward without hindrance. Even let the leaking be a distraction to the media, so our President can get these appointments made. A prayer you can pray: Lord, it appears that You have placed President Trump in office to shift the courts and get rid of an ingrown political system. Give us a fresh start. Give our President wisdom to make right choices. Give him the right people around him. There’s been a little trial and error, but we know You can step in and show him who he needs on his team, if he will seek You about this. Help the Ekklesia to keep our focus on what You are saying right now, as well. We declare that the leaks will be plugged up! The number one legacy of this president is likely to be his emphasis on placing the right judges on our courts. There has been no group of people in America that have allowed more spiritual poison into America than the judicial system. Help this President out, Lord, so he can shift the courts and shift the political system, while You bring revival to America and shift the moral climate! Amen. Today’s decree: I decree that the leaking from the White House will stop and President Trump will be able to do what God has placed him in office to accomplish!
