It’s Okay to be Angry I do not think it appropriate today to release a post that ignores the events of the past couple of weeks. Like many of you, my emotions are pretty raw. Though my faith is strong, still, I’m a mix of anger, grief, sadness, shame, and embarrassment. Faith and hope do not insulate against grief, nor do they demand denial. I’m angry that my nation is led by weak, unprincipled liars. I’m angry that the innocent have and will suffer - mercilessly. I’m angry that brave young women and men pay for the stupidity, arrogance, and selfish ambition of spineless bureaucrats, lying politicians, senile puppets, and woke, incompetent, military leaders. I grieve, realizing the horror experienced by 80-year-old Americans in Afghanistan who were heartlessly abandoned by their government. I grieve over mothers and small children beaten by demonized animals as they tried to get to the Kabul airport. I grieve over busloads of them who were stopped and turned away by the “new and different” Taliban. I grieve for the pregnant woman kicked in her stomach for trying to flee from our government’s “trusted” new partners. I grieve over those who made it to the airport gates only to be turned away by our “honorable” military leaders. I grieve for the 13 young Americans and their families who needlessly lost their lives, as well as for the 150 or so innocent Afghans who were blown to pieces. I am saddened by all of the above. I am saddened because I know the suffering isn’t over. I am saddened because I know none of it was necessary. And I am saddened that some of my brothers and sisters will be martyred. I am ashamed and embarrassed for my country. I am ashamed because we have unprincipled leaders. I am embarrassed that Americans would give a senile, incompetent liar the most powerful position in the world. I am embarrassed as our shameless government and military leaders, those responsible for all of this, pat themselves on the back with disgusting self-adulation and sycophancy while the torture and beheadings begin. (We’re not surprised that a nation with our wealth, resources, and a military as dedicated and well-trained as ours can evacuate as many people as they did from Afghanistan in 2 weeks. Stop back-slapping yourselves over this. We’re surprised that you wouldn’t allow this well-trained force to go outside the walls and get the rest! And that you took orders from terrorists.) I am ashamed and embarrassed that we turned our backs on friends, fellow warriors (then called them cowards), allies, and helpless women and children. I am embarrassed that many of our leaders who wept and ran in fear on January 6th while their desks were overturned and windows broken - and won’t stop talking about it - can smile and boast as they talk about Afghanistan. Having dumped my all-too-human emotion on you, I want to leave you with a dose of faith and hope...because I still believe! It is imperative that we not give up or grow cynical. Go ahead and grieve - just as I am - but get up and march on! Use the anger; don’t let it use you. We WILL win. I believe God is good and will infuse redemption into this evil. I believe principalities are being judged and will be dislodged by Christ and His church. I believe many Afghans will turn from Islam and to Christ because of the tragic suffering. I believe this will spread to other people and nations in the region. I believe the Arab World, the Middle East, and other Muslim nations will receive an earth-shaking revival. I believe America, too, will experience revival. I believe the EKKLESIA will accomplish everything Jesus said she would accomplish. I believe the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. 2 Corinthians 4:7-9 says, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels so that the extraordinary greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” (NASB) “We are like common clay jars that carry this glorious treasure within so that this immeasurable power will be seen as God’s, not ours. Though we experience every kind of pressure, we’re not crushed. At times we don’t know what to do, but quitting is not an option. We are persecuted by others, but God has not forsaken us. We may be knocked down, but not out.” (TPT) Pray with me: Father, once again we appeal to You for mercy. We are not asking for what we deserve, we are asking for Your lovingkindness and mercy, which You love to bestow. We plead the precious blood of Jesus over America, asking You to forgive her and restore her fully to your ways and precepts. Revive us; give us Your mercy. We also ask You for a wind of Your Spirit to blow all across the earth. We ask for this wind to destroy Your enemies and redeem those who are willing to respond to You. Rescue billions of people from sin and darkness. We ask for dreams and visions to be given to those who don’t know You. We ask that angels be sent to show them the truth about Jesus and who He really is. We ask for Jesus to literally appear to many, also. And we pray for the precious people of Afghanistan. We pray for comfort, deliverance, protection, salvation, and the breaking of the hold of this evil regime. Work miracles to reverse what has occurred there. And for those who are relocated to other nations, may they find Jesus there. We pray these things in Christ’s name. Amen. The Crisis of Afghanistan As Americans pulled out of Afghanistan yesterday, leaving hundreds - some estimates are as high as 1000 - Americans behind, many could do nothing but weep. It did not have to be this way. Perhaps some of the quotes from the British Parliament, shared by The Daily Wire News, best sum up what has occurred. “Members blamed Biden for the situation and shamed him for trying to cast blame on others, including the Afghan military. Many of the members said that America’s image was seriously damaged around the world and the West could suffer greatly in the years to come because nations may no longer trust the West to keep its promises. “‘First, notwithstanding his attempted explanation on Monday, the manner and timing of the Afghan collapse is the direct result of President Biden’s decision to withdraw all US forces from Afghanistan by the 20th anniversary of 9/11. At a stroke, he has undermined the patient and painstaking work of the last five, 10, 15 years to build up governance in Afghanistan, develop its economy, transform its civil society and build up its security forces. The people had a glimpse of a better life, but that has been torn away. With US forces withdrawing, other NATO allies, including ourselves, had no option but to leave too, denying the Afghan national army the technical and training support that it needed and the moral support of friends who encouraged them to take the fight to the Taliban. Until a few weeks ago, the Taliban was being contained and may even have been persuaded over time that a military victory was impossible and a negotiated settlement was the better course. Those possibilities are now a closed chapter of history, an opportunity lost, and the world’s western superpower is looking enfeebled. The only glimmer of hope today is that the Taliban of 2021 is not the Taliban of 2001,’ said Lord Dannatt. “‘My Lords, all my life I have been pro-American and favourably disposed to the United States, but not any more at this moment. What Biden has done in Afghanistan will go down in ignominy as one of the most shameful and despicable acts of betrayal by any American President. Tens of thousands of men will be slaughtered, thousands of young girls forced to marry these Taliban brutes and 14 million women driven back into slavery. Afghanistan was emerging into the light with freedoms for women and children, who will now be ruled with 500-year-old barbaric religious laws. That is Biden’s legacy. He cannot blame it on Trump,’ stated Lord Blencathra.”(1) Though our brave military men and women would’ve gladly gone into Kabul to help our citizens and others get to the airport, they were forbidden to do so. Many of our retired special forces, however, did quickly organize and helped hundreds of them escape. According to Emily Zanotti from The Daily Wire, “Retired Green Beret commander Scott Mann, who led the ‘Task Force Pineapple’ mission, [which rescued at least 500 people] disputed the Biden administration’s claims that all Americans who want to get out of Afghanistan are able to leave. “‘The Pineapple volunteers – these are all special ops volunteers and civilian supporters. We’re doing this remote. We’re doing this from the US, but we’re building on our relationship and trust that we’ve had with our Afghan partners for 20 years. So we’ve got the ground truth on the outside of the gate,’ Mann told the network. “He added that, as recently as yesterday, during a period in which the Biden administration should have been doing everything possible to extract the remaining Americans, a bus full of 50 individuals was turned back. “‘Here’s the deal,’ Mann told Fox. ‘There are hundreds of American citizens right now who are not able to get in. Yesterday, there was a bus of up to 50 American citizens with many small children within sight of the gate. The Taliban were not only not letting them in, they were firing over their heads, firing around the bus with these little kids on there. Imagine sitting on that bus with your kids, enduring that for hours at a time, never got in.’ “‘This is happening all over the city,’ he said. ‘We’re going to have American citizens and Afghan allies behind enemy lines within a few hours.’”(2) And it happened just as he said. In searching for the best way to pray today, I don’t believe any better instruction could be given than that of Intercessors for America. This ministry, on the front lines of prayer for our nation for decades, shared the following comments and prayer points. They do a wonderful job of mixing faith into this horrible situation. Intercessors for America shares: “The world is watching as the unfolding crisis in Afghanistan is a growing tragedy. Thirteen U.S. Servicemen dead at the hands of ISIS-K. It's a humanitarian crisis, a power vacuum, a chaotic withdrawal, a modern-day martyrdom, all of which needs prayer. There is so much going on that secular news isn't revealing to us, but IFA has received insider intel and spiritual direction. Let's all come into agreement, speak God's Word, and believe that He is hearing, He is seeing, and He will act. Prayer and action are needed.” We will use their guide as our prayer today. “Here’s how you can pray: “1) Safe Evacuation and Relocation Ask the Lord to continue to make a way of escape for people. They need divine intervention. And as those who are evacuated are relocated to other countries, pray for their transition and safety. Missionaries who are in Afghanistan are seeing firsthand what is going on and are in clear danger, as are stranded technology workers, farmers, aid workers, contractors, and U.S. citizens. Throughout the Bible, wherever God's people looked outnumbered, God intervened in miraculous ways. ‘Remember the great terrors the LORD your God sent against them. You saw it all with your own eyes! And remember the miraculous signs and wonders, and the strong hand and powerful arm with which he brought you out of Egypt. The LORD your God will use this same power against all the people you fear’ (Deuteronomy 7:19). “2) Pray for angelic intervention and a hedge of protection for those left behind in Afghanistan. As there are those who are still in Afghanistan either as rescuers, missionaries, contractors, Afghani Christians, or allies, pray for their protection. Pray for supernatural help and hope. ‘My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; You save me from violence. I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies (2 Samuel 22:3-4). ‘Don't be afraid,’ the prophet answered. ‘Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.’ And Elisha prayed, ‘O LORD, open his eyes so he may see.’ Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha’ (2 Kings 6:16-17). “3) Deliverance for the innocent children and families who are trapped, being attacked, and even kidnapped. Pray for the Lord to reveal His mighty right arm of deliverance. Many Afghani people--especially women and children--are being caught in the crosshairs or are a target of violence by the heavy hand of the Taliban or ISIS-K. Pray for them as they endure the harsh and evil new regime. Keep believing God for miracles. ‘Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me’ (Psalm 138:7). ‘See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of My Father in heaven’ (Matthew 18:10). “4) Pray for the Taliban and ISIS-K to be neutralized. In the Bible, there are several stories when God's people were in fear of being attacked by enemies and God caused the enemies to retreat by supernatural means. He can do it again (Read 2 Kings 7:5-7). Pray that the Taliban and their actions would be recognized for what they are by the international community. Pray that ISIS-K would be disorganized and ineffective in their terror plots. ‘The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven’ (Deuteronomy 28:7). “5) Pray for our nation's military leadership. Our nation's military leadership seems to lack an effective evacuation plan and clearly has not protected Americans. Pray that God would guide and direct U.S. servicemen and women at all levels to make the right decisions. Pray for the families of military members who gave their lives for the cause and their country. ‘When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan’ (Proverbs 29:2). “6) Pray that Jesus would reveal Himself to the Muslim people. Pray for the Muslim people in Afghanistan to have dreams and visions and to hear the audible voice of Jesus Christ. May God point them to Jesus Christ as Lord through miraculous healings and deliverance. Although we do not hear much about it, many Muslim people are receiving Jesus Christ after seeing Him in dreams and visions. Even the Taliban can be saved and forgiven because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross. ‘Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?’ ‘Who are you, Lord?’ Saul asked. ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,’ he replied. ‘Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do’ (Acts 9:1-4).”(3) Intercessors for America is a wonderful organization offering many tools to help you learn how to pray more effectively. Making History Several years ago I was gripped by the thought: I can either watch history being made or I can make it. I wasn’t thinking about becoming famous, but of shaping history. I decided to become one of the history makers, not just a watcher. I love the song History Maker, written by Martin Smith, the former lead singer for the U.K. Christian band, Delirious. The lyrics speak of the power of prayer, of cloudless skies breaking forth with rain, of miraculous healings, and broken-hearted people becoming history makers. If you’ve never heard it, check it out. I think you’ll like it. Though I love the song and its concept, in another sense of the word, we’re all participating in the history-making process. The only questions—which we are all answering with our lives—are: 1) What history are we writing? and 2) Will we write it intentionally or by default? We all help shape history, one way or another. Facing the Giant When David was about to face the giant, Goliath, his older brother mocked him over what seemed like such a preposterous idea. David’s response was to ask the poignant question, “Is there not a cause?” (1 Samuel 17:29). Would it come as a surprise if I told you the word “cause” also means “history?” David was very possibly asking his brother and fellow Israelites the question, “Is there not a history?” He could have been thinking of past history, which we will discuss later, but it is entirely possible David was thinking of the future—a history to write. “Come on guys,” David may have been imploring, “history will record what we do here today. Will we go down in history as giant-killers or cowards? Will we fight for God and country or will we flee? Don’t allow this giant to define us; let faith in God define us!” Interestingly, Goliath’s name actually comes from a root word meaning “to expose or reveal.”(1) How appropriate. Giants of adversity will most assuredly reveal our character. Are we a David? A Caleb? Or, like Israel’s soldiers who fled from Goliath, are we cowards? David refused to be defined by cowardice. He chose, rather, to be defined by a cause. America’s Destiny Our purpose as a nation is to partner with Christ, just as Israel did, becoming a light to the nations. Our divine calling is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ from these shores to the ends of the earth. And it is to be an example of what Yahweh will do for a nation “whose God is the Lord” (Psalms 33:12). America’s giants have exposed our character flaws; our calling has been in jeopardy. Rather than exporting the gospel, we are now the leading exporter of pornography, as well as other forms of depravity through film and music.(2) America is literally trafficking in filth! Portions of the shocking history we are writing today will one day shame us. But as the following example shows us, dirges can be transformed into songs of victory. John Newton lived in the 1700s. For part of his life, he was a slave trader, the lowest of the low. Through a series of events, Newton came to Christ and became one of the leaders of the abolitionist movement. He actually pastored William Wilberforce, who is credited with playing the most significant role in the abolition of slavery in the British Empire. Newton wrote the song Amazing Grace. Sung more than 10 million times annually and recorded on 11,000 albums, it has been intoned more than any song in history. Newton, whom satan used to torment many and help write some of the ugliest chapters in world history, was transformed and given the song that has comforted hundreds of millions of people. America, too, will experience God’s amazing grace and recover from its evils. She will write a new song, a song not about oppression and injustice, but about the beauty of life and freedom. Christ Wants to Restore America Jesus said to Jerusalem, “You did not recognize the time of your visitation” (Luke 19:44). Unfortunately, the word “visitation” does not clearly communicate what Christ had offered them. He was not simply referencing a “visit.” The Greek word is episcope, from which we get the words “bishop,” “overseer,” and “superintendent.” Jesus was actually saying to Jerusalem, “I came to cover you, to be your Shepherd and Protector. I wanted to take you as a mother hen would her chicks and hide you under My wings, covering and protecting you. But you did not recognize this” (see Luke 13:34). We in America are currently receiving the same offer Christ made to Jerusalem. God is giving us an opportunity to return to Him and the promise of His loving care. His desire is to demonstrate that righteousness—not money, power, or pleasure—exalts a nation (see Proverbs 14:34). Jesus is knocking at America’s door, asking will you receive Me back into this nation as your Shepherd and Bishop, allowing Me to cover, protect and lead you? Will you once more become a nation under God? Millions of God-fearing and honoring Americans are rising up to answer this question. And a remnant of the body of Christ is doing its part through prayer. Failures are being confessed, appeals are being made, and decrees are being released. God honors intercession. It still works. We must refuse to surrender this nation to humanists, atheists, liberal politicians, and individuals who want the influence of God and the Bible removed from America. Though much ground has been lost to these ungodly forces, God has said it is absolutely not too late. We will appeal to Him for change. We will always walk in tolerance and love. But loving people doesn’t equate to giving them everything they want, nor should tolerance be confused with abdication. Just as David did, we can write a righteous history for America. The giants of sin and godlessness in our nation can absolutely be conquered and the hearts of people can most certainly be won. Though the taunting giants may mock us in the name of their gods, just as Goliath did Israel’s army, we can daily and fervently decree biblical promises such as, “Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound” (Romans 5:20, KJV). And the great promise of 2 Chronicles 7:14 is still true today, “If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and I will heal their land.” I believe this with all my heart and live for this hope. We in America are not at the mercy of principalities, powers, and spiritual giants. Though the past several years have been devastating, we can write a new and glorious chapter for our nation. Let’s do it! Let’s continue to humble ourselves, call upon God, and stay on the offense through prayer. If we do so, confessing the sins of America and appealing to God for mercy, He will answer our prayers and pour out His Spirit on this land once again. He will! The giants wrote America’s last chapter; we—the praying church—will write the next one. Pray with me: Father, David asked, “Is there not a history?” We, too, are asking this same question, “What history will we write?” Give us dedicated intercessors, leaders, patriots, and warriors that accept only one answer, “We will take out the spiritual giants that have been allowed to rule our nation.” May we not cower in fear of their size, wealth, weapons, or mockery. May we instead run toward them with Your name on our lips. Transform many in our nation the way You did John Newton. Give us a new song! Give us a grace anthem. May America write songs that comfort billions. May the world be able to say of us, “America lost her way but, look, she is found!” May the song of the gospel ring out from these shores again! May the song of liberty ring out from these shores again! May the song of covenant with God ring out from these shores again! We boldly declare that no giant, no principalities, will continue to rule over us. The blood of the Lord, Jesus, is cleansing and freeing us! The stronghold of death will be broken. The stronghold of covenant breaking will be broken. Strongholds of injustice will be broken. Strongholds of idolatry will be broken. Giants will fall, principalities will come down! The history we hand our children will be one of a saved America and a worldwide revival! Amen. Our decree: We decree that God‘s amazing grace is sufficient! Giants Will Fall This past Saturday night in Indiana I was led to speak on taking out spiritual giants. Shortly into my message, a very strong - and very different - presence of God came into the room. This was not a warm and intimate presence, it was a visit from the Captain of the Lord’s host. I was given the mental image of Christ staring intensely at a principality. I then heard Him say, “I am now going to deal with this spirit.” His countenance was fierce. I experienced a very great fear of the Lord. I believe I know which principality/giant the Lord was referring to. I am still praying into it and seeking further confirmation before stating it publicly. Whether or not I am correct in that, I am very certain He is about to take out this “giant,” which I knew had ruled portions of the earth for centuries. In light of this, I feel it is time to share some from the small book Holy Spirit gave me a short time ago, adapting it to today. The book is Giants Will Fall. I have shared snippets from it before, but not significant amounts. And NOW is the time. Pioneering Hebron “I’ve heard a word from God,” Chuck Pierce told me. I was excited. Chuck is a prophet, after all. What pearl of wisdom was he about to share with me? Directions for my future? A profound nugget of revelation? If nothing truly spiritual, perhaps at least something exciting, like who would win the Super Bowl. Don’t laugh - he’s done that before. I was expectant. We were in Israel, the place where Jesus had lived and ministered. Who knows what he had picked up from the revelation-filled airwaves of Jerusalem! “I heard Holy Spirit say, ‘I’m going to pioneer Hebron again,’” he stated with a great deal of confidence. I, in return, gave him a mix of “deer in headlights” and “you’ve got to be kidding” looks. “What does that mean?” I asked the prophet. “I don’t know.” “What do you mean you don’t know? You’re a prophet, for crying out loud,” I reminded him. “Well, I heard Holy Spirit say it, but I don’t know what it means,” he stated. “It’s for you. He’ll tell you what it means.” Prophets can be annoying. I wasn’t completely surprised. Chuck has done this to me before. God will sometimes give him a word or phrase - just enough to entice me. I, then, have to discern for myself what it means. It must be a game God and prophets sometimes play with us normal folks. So I locked in on Hebron. The names of people and places in Old Testament times were important, their meanings often holding prophetic significance. Bethel, for example, where Jacob had a profound encounter with God, means “the house of God.” Jerusalem means “the city of peace or wholeness.” Hebron - the place Holy Spirit said He would pioneer again - means “friendship.” It also means “league, confederacy, or federation.” Though the word itself doesn’t refer to a covenant, the concept is certainly there. The name “Hebron,” then, would convey the idea of covenantal friendship. Because of this meaning, God made it the final resting place of Abraham, the covenantal friend of God (as well as other patriarchs). With this meaning in mind, Hebron became a picture of several things: It is the highest city in Israel; therefore, covenantal friendship with God is the “highest” privilege we are afforded. It is also the thing satan most wants to steal. Hebron was the city where King David first set up his throne. Authority is released as we walk in covenantal friendship with God. Later in Israel’s development, Hebron became one of its “Cities of Refuge.” These were cities structured and managed to protect individuals who had accidentally taken a person’s life. The individuals fled to a city of refuge in order to prevent a family member of the slain person from enacting revenge. It was inconvenient but better than vengeance killings. Later the New Testament tells us these cities of refuge became types or pictures of Christ, who conquered death and to whom we “have fled for refuge” (Hebrews 6:18, KJV). Hebron, then, pictures the salvation, safety, and refuge we find in Christ. Satan hates geographical locations that have become meaningful to God and His people. When possible, he seeks to defile them, using perversions, violence, covenant-breaking, idolatry, and the shedding of innocent blood. Hebron, as a type of Christ and picture of covenantal friendship with God, became a prime target, and in the four centuries between Abraham and Joshua, evil giants had overtaken the city. In fact, the greatest of all the Anakim (giants), Arba, made it his stronghold and renamed Hebron after himself: Kiriath-arba, meaning “the city of Arba” (see Joshua 14:15). By the time the 12 spies of Israel were sent by Moses to check out the Promised Land, three more giants, direct descendants of Anak from whom the giants were spawned, had inherited Hebron (see Numbers 13:22, 28, 33). This holy place, representing friendship and covenant with God, was now ruled by giants and was a place of terror. It so terrified ten of the twelve spies, in fact, that they brought back an evil report of fear and unbelief to the rest of the nation. “There is no way we can take our promised land,” they stated. “The giants are simply too big and powerful.” This is how many Christians feel today: some giants are just too big. Caleb, one of the 12 spies, was indignant. Seeing that Arba and the other giants had defiled this holy city and desecrated the final resting place of Abraham and other patriarchs, he was angry. His response was to ask Moses for this very mountaintop city as his inheritance. “We can conquer these giants and their fortified cities, guys,” Caleb told the fearful Israelites, “and I’ll take the biggest.” Because of the Israelites’ fear and unbelief, however, Caleb had to wait for this opportunity. Forty-five years later, after 40 years of wilderness wandering by the unbelieving generation and another 5 years of war, it was time. Caleb, now 85 years old, said, “Give me my mountain!” (Joshua 14:12). In asking for this piece of land, this warrior was asking for more than a city; he was requesting the assignment of conquering the greatest stronghold of the giants. Caleb was BAD. The great warrior did, indeed, conquer Kiriath-arba and its giants, then renamed it Hebron. In the words of my prophetic friend, he pioneered Hebron again. In that special place, Caleb enjoyed a covenantal friendship with God. He also paved the way for it to become David’s first capital and a picture of Christ, our Savior, and our Refuge. When Holy Spirit declared through Chuck that he was going to “pioneer Hebron again,” He was making an encouraging and wonderful announcement: “I am going to use My people to confront and take out spiritual giants ruling regions of the earth, transforming these regions into strongholds of life. You are going to transform spiritually dark cities and nations into places where covenantal friendship with God can be experienced, and from which the rule and authority of Christ - He who sits on the throne of David - can be seen again." A New Era We, the church, are moving into a new era. We will soon experience our finest and most productive season of harvesting souls. As I have stated before, I believe we will see at least a billion people saved in the next 10-20 years, perhaps more than have been saved in the previous 2000! Portions of the earth that have been ruled by evil, spiritual giants since Adam’s fall, will be liberated. Let’s ask for our mountain! All that God does on earth is birthed through His intercessors. The praying Church is about to step into its highest authority and its greatest history-writing role. Pray with me: Father, raise up many in this hour who have Caleb hearts. Please do this on every continent and in every nation. Warriors! Fearless, bold men and women who hate oppression and love You with a tremendous passion. I know You have been training them; we are asking now for their release. They were born for such a time as this. They are Esthers, Deborahs, Joshuas, Elijahs. We ask for the Captain of the Lord’s host - Jesus, the Head of the church - to demonstrate that He is, indeed, a Man of war. May the same indignation that rose in Him when lucifer tried to take over Heaven, rise up in Him now. May the same shout of triumph that resounded from the Cross - “It is finished!” - be heard in the spirit realm once again. May the One with fire in His eyes release that consuming fire against our spiritual giants now. Jesus, we ask that You rescue a billion souls! We, as Your intercessors, confidently declare that “It still works.” We state our faith that the Mercy Seat is still in operation - the throne of grace is still the highest throne and it still releases all-sufficient grace. Jezebel’s Influence in Government Psalm 85:8 says: “I will hear what God the Lord will speak: for He will speak peace unto His people, and to His saints: but let them not turn again to folly.” (KJV) The greatest revival in church history is beginning to unfold. It has been prophesied that revival is going to roll across this land and will be the catalyst of a true reformation. Jesus referred to reformation in Matthew 28:19, saying that His ekklesia would “disciple nations.” Much is said about revival and awakening, but not a lot has been said about the discipling of nations. Reformation, however, MUST accompany revival. We must fulfill the Lord’s command to disciple nations, teaching them His ways. A true ekklesia embraces and involves itself in both. The coming revival, therefore, will include the church’s involvement with our culture and government, turning it back from “folly,” and reforming it to God’s word. Folly, in the above verse, is kislah in Hebrew, and means “silliness, foolishness or even stupidity.” It is the responsibility of the King’s ekklesia to stop foolishness by reforming culture and government. Without this Matthew 28 type reformation, revival is short-lived and incomplete. We must have a fully functioning New Testament church in America and the world, fulfilling all of Christ’s mandates. My brother, Tim Sheets, points this out through a look at one of the churches of Revelation. “The directives given by King Jesus to the seven churches in the book of Revelation are important for us to heed. One in particular stands out to me as Holy Spirit has prompted me to study what the King said about the church in Thyatira: You allow Jezebel to seduce. (Revelation 2:20 NKJV). The Amplified Bible says, ‘You tolerate the woman Jezebel...she teaches and midleads…’ Jezebel is commonly defined as a fleshly, demonically influenced woman who undermines leadership in a church or ministry. This is often true but incomplete. Jezebel is a demonic spirit that uses both males and females to lead others astray, to gossip, often lie, and even prophesy by demonic unction. It’s goal is to hinder, confuse and harass the work of the Lord, often causing strife and division with people’s words or actions. This is commonly done by motivating a person to draw attention to his or herself rather than on what God is doing and saying. Jezebel-controlled individuals create division, seeking to drive a wedge between leadership and other individuals. According to this passage in Revelation, this spirit also causes immorality and compromise. It must not be tolerated. “The original Jezebel in scriptures was a person, under the influence of this spirit. From that point on, spirits operating in these ways have been called by her name. It is important to remember, however, that Jezebel is a high-ranking demonic spirit (not a person), with other spirits working under it to perform its goals. Since the woman Jezebel was so controlled by this spirit, we can glean much from observing her. Queen Jezebel attacked God’s people, abused His leaders, led people away from Him and promoted an anti-God agenda. She worshipped Baal and helped organize, fund, and empower prophets of Baal. Jezebel was a government leader, a queen who co-led a nation and through her manipulation was the controlling force of the government. She was the daughter of Ethbaal (who placed Baal in his name), the king of Sidon, and was the wife of Ahab, an ungodly king of Israel. Influenced by her, Ahab chose to serve Baal rather than Yahweh, even though this religion was so despicable it demanded child sacrifice. Molech, often credited with child sacrifice, was a ‘god’ under Baal. “As leaders of a nation, Ahab and Jezebel, of course, made laws. They established a new, idolatrous culture, predominantly immoral, in the land. Ahab and Jezebel also led an abusive government that had no qualms about stealing from people. “In 1 Kings 21, Jezebel orchestrated the stealing of a vineyard, the God-given inheritance of a man named Naboth. Ahab coveted the vineyard that was part of Naboth’s family inheritance; Naboth rightly refused to sell it to him. Jezebel stepped in and conspired with other leaders, devising a plan to have men devoid of morals swear that Naboth was a blasphemer. After Naboth’s character was assassinated, they caused a riot and stoned him to death. After Jezebel’s plan had been executed, she proudly told Ahab to take possession of the vineyard. “Jezebel hated Yahweh and His prophets, had no respect for His laws and ways, lied and abused her governing authority to get her way. Does this sound familiar? It should, because it is happening now in our nation. Oppression and control through government is a manifestation of the Jezebel spirit. Anti-God ideologies, control through government and political leverage, using authority for personal gain, killing babies - all are signs of Jezebel’s rule. “There is only one entity that can stop this: Holy Spirit, through the true church of Jesus Christ. Through Him, we have the ability. Yet we have tolerated the activity of this spirit. God says today ‘I have something against Thyatira-type churches. Though your love and faith toward me is impressive and your service is persistent, you tolerate Jezebel in your region, state, nations and governments. This toleration is destroying people’s heritages and allowing demonic ways promoted by Jezebel-type politicians to become laws in the land. You permit the Jezebel spirit to oppress your nation, schools and children. You allow those controlled by it to make covenants with demons. You tolerate men and women in government stealing people’s heritage, their jobs and their businesses. You permit them to assassinate good people’s character. You allow the abuse of power and authority. You permit them to make laws against Me and My ways. You allow Jezebel to work in your government...while you say nothing.’ “There are many churches who refuse to get involved in government or culture, but the King says, ‘I have something against you, because I commissioned you and gave you authority, but you choose to tolerate this evil.’ Tolerate is the word eao, meaning ‘to leave alone.’ ‘Much of the body of Christ has chosen to ignore this spirit, leaving it alone.’ “It’s time to stop acting like God didn’t tell us to get involved. We need revival, but we also need reformation of our government. Jesus, the King, says we need both. We must take on the God-given assignments of dealing with Jezebel and discipling a nation. We must choose to get involved in the government and leadership of this nation. We must occupy all the mountains of the culture - government, education, media, arts and entertainment, business, religion, and family. Yes, we need to be revived, but then...we must go to war. Jezebel must come down.” Pray with me: Lord, I pray that greater revelation of Your word would come forth in the church. Revive Your people, and restore this nation to its covenant roots. We desire to see oppression in people’s lives end. We want to see the harassment of the church stop. You have said the coming revival will produce a strong church, an ekklesia, that will push against Jezebel activity. Cause us to be those who release Your power into society to change it. Cause the church to raise her voice in this revival and cry out for reformation. May we be stirred to cry out for revival AND the discipling of our nation. We declare that Jesus is Lord over our lives AND this nation. Help us to be Your voice to the lost AND to the culture. Make us voices similar to Elijah and John the Baptist, who will say to our Jezebel-controlled government, “Stop assassinating people’s character, stop stealing what isn’t yours, stop living above your privilege, stop lying, stop killing babies.” Grant that great boldness would come upon us to say what You say. Give us the greatest revival in church history. A transformative revival of people’s lives and of nations. Put us on the cutting edge of this, Lord. It is a privilege to be a pioneer; help us make a path where there is none. Whatever it takes! Let the river of your Spirit flow so we can drink deeply, be refreshed and then go to war! Give us genuine miracles of reformation and revival: healings in people’s lives, the breaking of demonic bondage, freedom and deliverance from oppression, physical healings, signs and wonders. We want it all! Breathe revival on the ekklesia everywhere and bring reformation to our nation. In Jesus Name, Amen! Our decree: Fresh winds of revival are blowing. MY HONEST EVALUATION OF TODAY’S AMERICA It is not a contradiction of faith to acknowledge the true state of affairs, whether regarding a person or a nation. Faith is not denial; faith is denying the right of that which is contrary to God’s will and Word to continue. It is believing His Word in spite of any contrary circumstance. Abraham considered (katanoeo -“consider attentively”) the state of his and Sarah’s bodies, yet with respect to the promise of God chose to believe (see Romans 4:16-21). An accurate look at the state of affairs in America is necessary and will enable us to pray with greater understanding. It will also help to explain why many have been saying for many years that the only hope for America is a Third Great Awakening. I do believe this revival has begun, will intensify, and that America will be saved. But our prayers for this must be accompanied with an honest acknowledgment of our true condition. Only the humble are given grace (see James 4:6). Do not assume my words indicate that I am being mean-spirited. I love every person in the church and in our government and want to see all saved. Jesus loved the seven churches in Revelation, though He spoke very strongly to some of them, going so far as to say He would vomit them out of His mouth if they didn’t change (see Revelation 3:16). I am simply endeavoring to speak truth. Today’s American Church Many of America’s churches are plagued with compromise, feel-good messages, only a watered-down gospel, a lack of power, little understanding of Holy Spirit, and neglect of God’s Word. Most evangelicals don’t believe the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God. Obviously, then, they don’t have a biblical worldview (believing the scriptures are the final authority for all of life). Over half of the “Christian” world in America doesn’t even believe in a literal Holy Spirit. Consequently, most Christians have little to no discernment. Conformed to the world in more ways than we want to admit, the American church has become a subculture, not a counter-culture. We have been discipled by our nation rather than discipling our nation. Most pastors can’t even bring themselves to talk about abortion and challenge their congregants to vote based on life and morality. The fear of man has, indeed, proven to be a snare (see Proverbs 29:25). Our U.S. Government Our government is now led by: socialists - In a recent Fox News poll, 59% of Democrats said they prefer socialism to capitalism. (1) a party with anti-God agendas - the Democrat party booed God in their 2012 convention and in 2020 would not say His name in the Pledge of Allegiance. It is a secularist party, believing God and scripture have no place in public policy, education or culture. a party that votes unanimously to kill babies and sell their body parts. those to whom truth is no longer the guiding force - character assassinations based on lies is OK if it furthers their agenda (Trump, Cavanaugh, Barrett, etc) those who believe we should show an ID to cash a check but not to elect the most powerful person in the world, a person who can order the destruction of a nation and allow one of the most evil organizations in the world to replace it…overnight those who want a nation without borders a party that defunds police while it spends TRILLIONS of dollars to further their radical ideals and buy votes - the future of our children and grandchildren be damned those who believe the Constitution somehow gives them the right to redefine marriage, flaunting their opinion in the face of our Creator those who cannot tell the difference between male and female, rejecting common sense and the Bible those who believe children know enough about their bodies, minds, emotions, sexuality, the medical ramifications and what they will want later in life, to allow them to begin permanently altering their bodies in an attempt to change their genders those who contend that all whites are racists and America is evil those who banned inexpensive drugs that could have saved hundreds of thousands of lives during a pandemic those who use a pandemic to further their political power those who want a fundamentally different America than the one God raised up and that our Founders formed those who have turned our education institutions into liberal, humanistic seminaries, while lowering standards - sometimes eliminating them altogether - for reading, writing, and arithmetic those who will no longer tolerate free speech those who weaken our military, while China, Russia, and other nations make plans to annihilate us those who want to take our guns If you are not saddened and angered by this, you should be. And embarrassed. America is now the laughingstock of our enemies who no longer fear us and know we are led by weak, naive, spineless bureaucrats and misguided generals. The rest of the world looks at us with disdain. Up until a few days ago, they may have laughed at a proud America led by a mentally declining leader. Now they are disgusted and probably cringe in fear, knowing the only force in the world that could stop evil dictators and those hungry for world domination can no longer be trusted to do so. One can only wonder how church leaders and politicians claiming to be conservative (Romney, Bush, Cheney, and more) can be so offended over what they consider mean tweets and name-calling, that they would prefer leftists, socialists, and pro-abortion leaders. Then there are the weak, unprincipled judges and justices - and yes, I’m including some of the so-called conservatives - who chose willful ignorance rather than look at some of the cases brought by states and legislatures during the elections. In the case brought by 18 states against Wisconsin, only two justices, the conservative lions Alito and Thomas, had the courage and integrity to hear the case. As if one state negating another’s votes - this was a NATIONAL election, after all - doesn’t give “standing” for a hearing. No one took the Court’s reasoning seriously. The “image” of the Court meant more to them than truth. Biden was no stranger to any of these politicians and judges, nor were the agendas of the left they helped empower. These selfish and weak leaders have proven that their personal agendas, hurt feelings, and careers mean more to them than babies, liberty, love of God, and the future of America. Biden’s cavalier attitude toward the Afghans, especially the women, shouldn’t have surprised them, either. “According to the late Richard Holbrooke’s diary, in 2010, Biden told Holbrooke that he wanted to withdraw every troop from Afghanistan regardless of the consequences for Afghans. ‘I am not sending my boy back there to risk his life on behalf of women’s rights, it just won’t work, that’s not what they’re there for,’ Biden insisted. When Holbrooke asked what a complete withdrawal would mean for Afghans who trusted us, including young girls who would be raped and forced into sexual slavery, Biden replied: ‘F...that, we don’t have to worry about that. We did it in Vietnam, Nixon and Kissinger got away with it.’” (2) For the sake of all that is good and honorable, please do not continue to support these disgraceful politicians. I’m not suggesting you become a Republican, only that you stop voting for those who would destroy our nation. And do not attend the congregation of one of these weak, and compromising spiritual leaders. Don’t give them another penny. If you cannot find a church in your area that will speak and stand for truth, openly support life, and challenge its members to vote for righteousness, find one online. There should be a mass exodus from congregations led by weak men and women who refuse to make a stand. Church leaders who choose not to stand for Christ and what He represents are helping facilitate America’s decline. I have contended for 30 years that there is no hope for America apart from a massive revival encompassing the entire nation. A Third Great Awakening. We are too far down the road of sin, apostasy, humanism, secularism, and anti-Christ ideologies to turn things around through a trickling, “one here and there” rate of conversion. It is too late to save America by winning a few people to Christ. We must have a sweeping revival. Only a massive change of conscience and God’s laws written on the hearts of millions will produce true and lasting change. This, and only this, will enable us to reform America back to the nation God intends us to be. We must continue to pray and believe for this. We must ask for His mercy, forgiveness, and grace when appropriate, and continue to declare God‘s words and promises over America. Allow the anger, grief, and frustration you feel over this Afghanistan situation to increase your motivation to do so. Be diligent and consistent. God will do what He says if we do our part and not expect for His will to be automatic. Pray with me: Father, we repent for the condition of the American church. We repent for lukewarmness, for passivity, for watering down Your gospel and devaluing Your Word, for refusing to speak up for life and righteous causes, and for our prayerlessness. We do not ask You to save America and restore our destiny because we deserve it. We ask based on the blood of Jesus that cleanses us from ALL sin and unrighteousness. We ask because of Your great mercy. We ask because YOU want to do this. You always desire to save. It is not Your will that any perish. While we grieve deeply over much of the fallout, we are grateful that evil continues to be exposed. And we ask You to save us from the godless government we have given ourselves over to. Give us leaders with wisdom. Give us leaders who love the life of vulnerable babies. Give us leaders with common sense. Give us leaders who will honor our Constitution and our roots. Give us leaders who will fight for true liberty on earth. Give us leaders who know and honor You. We humbly ask for this in Jesus’ name, amen. Our decree: We decree that God has amazing grace available for America…that though we are blind, we will again see. Updates on Afghanistan Tuesday, we discussed the turning over of Afghanistan to Taliban forces, those, along with Al Qaeda, responsible for 9/11. This happened very quickly and left America and most of the rest of the world stunned. It has been described in a number of news sources as the greatest intelligence failure in our history. Others believe our intelligence sources weren’t wrong, just ignored. “David Grantham, a national security expert, senior fellow at the Center for a Secure Free Society, and former officer in the Air Force, said the turmoil in Afghanistan is a stain on the U.S. Military, the intelligence community, and the Biden administration.”(1) “Grantham noted that there was “surprisingly little violence amid the takeover, and the speed at which it was executed tells me the Taliban had plenty of provincial leaders in their pocket or had negotiated their stand down prior to their invasion. “‘The fact that the intelligence community didn’t know these circumstances, or that the Biden administration ignored those warnings, is the greatest failure I’ve seen in my lifetime,’ he said. “National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told ABC News on Sunday that Biden ‘did not think it was inevitable that the Taliban were going to take control of Afghanistan. “‘He thought the Afghan National Security Forces could step up and fight because we spent 20 years, tens of billions of dollars training them, giving them the best equipment, giving them support of U.S. forces for 20 years,’ Sullivan said. ‘And when push came to shove, they decided not to step up and fight for their country.’ “But Schmidt noted that the Pentagon did provide warnings about what could go wrong if the U.S. pulled troops out too quickly. “‘There are plenty of people who said this thing can go south within a week,’ he said. “Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., tweeted that the Biden administration ‘was specifically told Afghan forces would surrender faster than our ability to exit.’ “‘They decided to ignore these warnings and smugly tell everyone how smart and brilliant they are.’ Rubio wrote.”(2) “Rep. Kat Cammack, R-Fla., issued a statement saying White House bureaucrats should be ‘ashamed.’ “While on a Sunday call hosted by Secretary of State Blinken, General Milley, and Secretary of Defense Austin, Cammack said all three officials reiterated ‘more than six times’ that the U.S. was ‘engaging in an orderly and safe withdrawal’ and has ‘planned for all contingencies.’ “She said they noted that the Taliban ‘isn’t in Kabul’ and ‘cut off questions from members, leaving us with few - or no - answers.’”(3) Though the cost of this unconscionable decision, in terms of human life and America’s ability to lead the world, are incalculable, it will be seen as one of the most foolish and despicable decisions ever made by a world ruler. Life is precious and to be protected. With the handover of Afghanistan, we have dishonored the immeasurable value of 2448 Americans, over fifty thousand Afghans, and other coalition lives since 2001. The current sweep of the Taliban through the country, taking city after city, has also resulted in a loss of lives. This will now escalate. People are being slaughtered. Christian missionaries and other religious groups know they will not be safe under Taliban rule. Martyrdom is already occurring. In a confidential email I received, a leader shared: “Pray for the local believers who are now under immense pressure. If the Taliban finds out that they are believers, they will definitely kill them and possibly torture them to get more information about others. Pray also for us for wisdom and how to deal with our local staff and local believers we are in contact with.” Spiritually speaking, we may be watching the closing of a significant door to a harvest field. Operation World says Afghanistan has the second-fastest-growing “church” in the world, right behind Iran.(4) In fact, The Gospel Coalition says, “Afghans are being reached in large part by Iranians.”(5) Many American missionaries have also been working there to bring Christ to Afghanistan. We must pray that just as occurred in China, the persecution causes even further growth in the number of salvations. A number of Christian media organizations are broadcasting the gospel daily into this desperate country. Our U.S. military leaders helped create this debacle - at least they are “woke” and teaching our soldiers socialism’s Critical Race Theory. Our honorable soldiers are working hard to get as many of our citizens out of the country now as quickly as they can. “Some 6,000 U.S. troops are expected in Kabul with the objective of keeping the airport open to achieve that goal.”(6) There has been some confusion over how many Americans are still in Afghanistan. Earlier this week, Biden’s spokesperson said 11,000. There are also huge challenges for people trying to get to the main airport in Kabul. Taliban forces and protestors are blocking the way in and some, sadly, have had to turn back. Our government is saying they can fly them out, but can’t help them get to the airport: “Top Pentagon officials said Wednesday that the U.S.military does not ‘have the capability’ to retrieve all Americans who have been unable to reach the U.S.-secured airfield in Kabul.”(7) In a confidential email I received, one Christian humanitarian organization working in the country said, “The Taliban are all over the city and have started to already search through the houses. They have also been at our office and accommodations of our expats. They are checking everybody who wants to go into the airport.” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin vowed, “We’re going to get everyone that we can possibly evacuate, evacuated. And I’ll do that as long as we possibly can until the clock runs out or we run out of capability.”(8) The U.S. government says they will try to get all citizens out of the country by August 31st. We will not be able to extricate all Afghan citizens who helped us in the war. They are in great peril now under Taliban rule. These are matters for continued prayer. Military Bases to House Afghan Refugees Fox News has obtained documents showing the U.S. government is planning to house up to 30,000 Afghan refugees on military bases. “The bases include Fort McCoy in Wisconsin, and Fort Bliss in Texas.”(9) Some churches are already planning how they might support government efforts and assist the refugees when they arrive. China and Russia See an Opportunity With Afghanistan being given to the Taliban, they and others in the world see this as a defeat of America. Our geo-political rivals, Russia and China, are looking at how they can take advantage of the situation. The Financial Times quotes Zhu Yongbiao, a Chinese government adviser on central Asia as saying: “China has benefited from the irresponsible behavior of [the US], which has deeply undermined the international image of the US and the relationship between Washington and its allies. “Arkady Dubnov, a political analyst and central Asia expert in Moscow had a similar take, ‘We can align our interests [with China] in opposing the US. What is good for us is bad for Americans, what’s bad for us is good for Americans. Today the situation is bad for Americans and so it is good for us.’”(10) Both countries will now be bolder. Pray for Taiwan, Ukraine, and other places that are now in great danger. China and Russia will also support the Taliban government and look for other ways to benefit from the change in leadership there. Terriorism, curbed somewhat for the last 20 years, is now, once again, unbridled and armed with billions of dollars worth of U.S. weapons, drones, etc. The ultimate victory for them will be using them on us. Pray with me: ​​Father, we repent for the sins of our leaders. We ask You to forgive America for broken promises and hardened hearts toward people in Afghanistan. Forgive us for the lies of our leaders. Forgive us for electing ungodly, dishonorable leaders to rule our nation, and for allowing those not truly elected to rule. Corruption abounds in our government. Please forgive us and deliver us. Father, situations on the earth seem hopeless but this isn’t true. We can ask You for miracles and we can expect them. We pray for our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan. We pray for American citizens, government workers, missionaries, and those who supported our military efforts. Extend Your grace to them, Lord. Hide them from those who would harm them. For the Afghans who come here, give government and civic leaders plans that work well. May all who come, Christian or not, find the love of Christ in America. And Father, we ask for the great harvest of souls in Afghanistan and Iran to continue. We ask for it to be many millions - a stunning revival. We ask for this in other nations, as well. Push back the evil forces of darkness and open the heavens to the light of Your revelation. May Your angel armies be released to war aggressively against the evil powers! Lord of Angel armies, dispatch them to battle! Show Yourself strong! Please continue exposing the evil in our government. And please send America the greatest revival in our history. May it be exceeding abundantly beyond what we could even ask or think! (I will soon be devoting another post to the debacle in Afghanistan. My only comment today is that, like many Americans, the anger, disgust, and grief I feel - along with deep shame and embarrassment - is almost overwhelming. Though I (and others) knew and warned of the horrible price America and the world would pay for allowing Biden and his regime to take over the White House, watching it unfold is nevertheless shocking and horrifying. We will pray over the situation in a few moments.) Moving Forward With God’s Perspective In these extremely unsettling times, our outlook on life and our actions and decisions, including whether or not we pray with faith will be determined by what shapes our perspective. Will we remain anchored to God’s word, or sink into despair and hopelessness by focussing on the wind and waves. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 16:9, “A wide door for effective service has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.” Paul had to decide whether to be motivated by the opportunities or the opposition. David and his band of faithful warriors suffered a horrendous situation at Ziklag. Amalekites attacked their homes while they were gone, burned the city and kidnapped their wives and children. The men blamed David and threatened to kill him, “But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God,” (1 Samuel 30:1-6). By keeping his faith intact, David received prophetic strategy and recovered all. In her book, Awakening the Church to Awaken a Nation, our friend, Gina Gholston, shares a wonderful insight regarding receiving and moving in God’s perspective. The release of this encouragement, though planned before the situation in Afghanistan unfolded, is very timely. “Having been raised in the country, I really enjoy being in the outdoors. Creeks, mountains, and nature are all things that give me a feeling of peace just by thinking about them. I also enjoy traveling, and when traveling includes the scenic wonders of nature and the outdoors, well, that’s just my idea of a perfect combination! “One of my favorite places to travel are the mountains of East Tennessee. My mom and dad began taking me there when I was just a little girl, and I have never lost my awe and appreciation for the artistic wonders of God, the Creator, as seen while driving those scenic byways. “Along the drive, there are overlooks offering spectacular views of the mountains and valleys below. As a child, one of my fascinations was with the viewing towers stationed at these overlooks. These viewing towers were oversized binoculars people could look through. By depositing twenty-five cents, you could unlock the ability to see farther and in greater detail than could be observed by the natural eye. Being so small, my dad would take me in his arms and hold me up so I could see through them. My excitement would build as he placed the quarter in the slot. Then the lens would open, and suddenly, I was given access to a grander view than I could ever have imagined! The view without the aid of the binoculars was already amazing, but through those lenses, I could see in much greater detail. Rocks, streams, and even animals were brought into view. “Daddy would point out things for me to locate. ‘Look over there,’ he would say. ‘That’s where we’re going.’ With my natural eyes, all I could see were the trees and hills, but through the viewing tower, I could see the road winding through those trees and hills. I was still looking through my natural eyes, but depositing twenty-five cents opened the lens that gave my eyes an ability to see beyond. “As we travel through this life, there are things we see from a natural perspective, and many believe that’s the full view. But it is not all there is to see. If our focus is drawn exclusively to the natural things happening around us, we will be controlled by the limitation of our human understanding. Such focus causes many to be emotionally driven, which can often lead to fear, hopelessness, frustration, and defeat. But God has deposited His Holy Spirit in us, and by Him, we are given the ability to see things through spiritual eyes which cannot be seen through the filters of our natural understanding. “God has us on His path of purpose and destiny for our lives, and He has not limited us to the boundaries of this world. We have been given access to a grander view. There are details, wisdom, and revelation that give clarity and direction for where we are going, which can only be revealed by seeing through the eyes of the Spirit. There are obstacles He will expose, resources to be found, strategies to receive, connections that can be made, ideas to be imparted - tools God has prepared for us to see when we choose to look through this spiritual lens. “In the book of Second Kings, we find an account that illustrates this powerful ability to see beyond that we have been given by Holy Spirit. “When the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” So, he answered, “Do not fear; for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha,” (2 Kings 6:15-17, emphasis mine). “For Elisha and his servant, the situation surrounding them seemed to lead to an inevitable conclusion of defeat; however, God had made a way for victory. The servant saw the situation through natural eyes, and consequently, was captivated by fear and hopelessness. Elisha saw things through spiritual eyes; therefore, he was not moved by fear of what was happening in the natural. Elisha saw beyond the natural realm and, by the Spirit, could see God’s provision for deliverance. He was able to access strategy and understanding that gave him the ability to advance with God’s intended victory. “In this extreme and difficult time, we must allow Holy Spirit to readjust our focus, give us supernatural vision, so we can see beyond—beyond what is raging around us, beyond what is assumed based on what we see raging around us, beyond fear that has entered because of an obsessive focus on what is raging around us. God has revealed His verdict for America: She shall be saved! Through Christ, we are more than conquerors (see Romans 8:37). These are His prophetic promises, and He speaks with intent to perform. There is victory and transformation God has planned for our nation and world, and there is a remnant now beginning to move into it. We are allowing Holy Spirit to open our spiritual eyes so we can see things from Heaven’s perspective! We are accessing Godly wisdom and revelation that gives us the ability to advance with God’s intended victory. We are not afraid of, nor distracted by the enemy’s tactics. We are alert and focused on Christ, and by His Spirit, He leads us and always causes us to triumph.” Pray with me: Father, the words You have spoken over us, this nation, and the world, are true! Not one word from Your mouth will be left unfulfilled. What You have determined will be established! Your Ekklesia stands with authority and unflinching resolve to declare Your words over and above every contrary word, opinion, and circumstance. By faith, we access all that Holy Spirit imparts to us and the clarity and direction He gives for where we are going. We look to You. We do not view things through the lens of our emotions. We do not operate from a place where we think we are losing the battle. Our eyes are open to see and know that You have already secured our victory. We do not deny that bad things are happening in our world, things over which we grieve, at times very deeply. But those things do not shake our faith. We allow Your truth to set us free from fear and uncertainty. We rise above the fray, we look beyond the chaos, and we confidently move with Heaven’s strategies to advance with You! And through us, You will firmly enforce Your verdict that America shall be saved and that a worldwide revival is coming and will not be stopped! We pray for the people of Afghanistan. We pray that Your righteous judgments would be released against the forces of evil there, and the suffering will be minimized. Send great revival to that nation. Use the evils there to turn many to Christ. Give the Christians great grace - may they represent You well in this dark time of persecution. We pray this in Yeshua’s name. Amen. Declarations for Breakthrough I considered sharing another post about the horrible debacle transpiring in Afghanistan. Just like many of you, I am very angry and deeply grieved over what is occurring. However, after much thought and prayer, I feel we all need a break from the bad news, something to encourage us as we pray. Tom and Jane Hamon are among the prophetic voices I trust most. They are also great teachers and authors. Jane has graciously allowed us to share a strong word from her book, Declarations for Breakthrough, regarding the power of decreeing what God’s Word says and what Holy Spirit speaks. The insights she shares are part of the ongoing revelation Holy Spirit is bringing forth as He builds Christ’s Ekklesia on the earth. Jane says... “Do you want to supercharge your prayer life? Do you need a greater strategy for what to do when you hear God speak? I believe that understanding the biblical concept of declarations and decrees will take each of us to a greater place of effectiveness in advancing the Kingdom of God and bringing awakening into our land. “I love the voice of God. When He speaks things change. As a matter of fact, I believe one word from God can change anything and everything. When we agree with the voice of God and verbalize what He is saying, we are given the power to shift heaven and earth and change our very circumstances with prophetic declarations. These authoritative, spiritually empowered decrees have the capacity to bring breakthroughs and initiate change. “Decrees have been used for thousands of years by governments as a means to deliver judgments, laws, and orders with the expectation that they will be carried out. Esther, Ezra, and Daniel are books about decrees being issued that changed the course of history. Such is the governmental, Kingdom power God has put into the mouths of His people as we decree what He says! Decree the Abundance of Rain “My husband, Tom, and I were ministering in Edmonton, Canada, one August during a time when they were experiencing one of the most severe droughts in modern history. Because I always check the weather forecasts before arriving in a new city, I knew there were no weather patterns indicating they could expect any relief. But the first night of our conference, in the middle of my message, I suddenly heard the Lord tell me to decree that the heavens be opened, and release the sound of abundance of rain. I prophesied what I had heard the Lord say, directed the people to shout for joy in response to the word of the Lord, and we pointed our fingers toward the sky while decreeing an abundance of rain. “Fifteen minutes later I noticed someone come in the back door and whisper to their family members. Those individuals got up and left the service. Soon others came in and whispered to their friends and families; again, those individuals got up and left. This was becoming disruptive, so I paused in my ministry and asked what was causing people to leave the service. “With big smiles on their faces, people began to shout, ‘It’s raining! It’s raining!’ “We ran quickly to the doors and saw that all those who had left the service were in the parking lot dancing in the rain. Pretty soon, the whole congregation was dancing and declaring, ‘The drought is over! The drought is over!’ “When watching the weather report that night on the local news we were amused to see that the meteorologists were perplexed, commenting that they had not seen the rain coming. It seemed to come out of nowhere. It rained the whole week we were there. “Clearly, God shifted the atmosphere over Edmonton and brought an open heaven through the power of the decree. Jesus Taught the Power of the Decree “Throughout His earthly ministry, Jesus demonstrated the power of the spoken decree. He told His disciples, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you’ (Matthew 17:20, emphasis added). “When Christ ministered healing and breakthrough to people He never actually prayed for them to be healed; rather, He released declarations of breakthrough, saying things like, ‘Stretch out your hand;’ ‘Be made whole;’ ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk.’ Jesus raised the dead by making decrees: ‘Lazarus, come forth!’ In the situation with Jairus’ daughter, He said, ‘Do not weep. She is not dead; only sleeping. . . . Child, get up.’ To the dead man at Nain Jesus decreed, ‘Young man, I say to you arise.’ To one woman who had suffered from a spirit of infirmity for twelve years, He decreed: ‘Woman, thou art loosed,’ and she was instantly delivered and healed. When He and His disciples were on a boat and a ferocious storm broke, rather than pray Jesus made a decree: ‘Peace, be still!’ The Early Church—Our Example “Jesus’ disciples learned how to use decrees to bring breakthrough to people, setting the example for all believers through the ages. When confronted by the lame man begging for alms at the Gate Beautiful, Peter made a decree that released healing: ‘I have no silver or gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk,’ (see Acts 3:6). And the power behind that decree caused the lame man suddenly to jump to his feet, walking and leaping and praising God. These words rise up and walk are expressed in the imperative mood, not asking permission or making a suggestion, but giving a command. “In Acts chapter nine we read the story of Dorcas, also called Tabitha, a follower of Christ from the city of Lydda, who became very sick and died. Peter went to her and got down on his knees to pray. After doing so he turned to her dead body and decreed, ‘Tabitha, get up.’ Then she opened her eyes, looked at Peter, and sat up. “The apostle Paul also utilized decrees. In Acts 13:11 we read that Paul decreed blindness on Elymas the sorcerer who was hindering the Gospel from going forth. In Acts 14:10 he spoke to a lame man in a loud voice, ‘Stand up straight on your feet! And the man leaped up and immediately walked. “Prayer is actually the foundation for every decree we make, for through a constant flow of communication with the Father, we are able to more clearly hear the words He would have us speak. We pray, connecting to the Father, then we decree, shifting the earth. “We must marry the power of prayer and the authority of the decree. Prayer is our petitions, communication, and fellowship with God, while decrees are God’s words released through our voices into the earth realm to bring change. “Job 22:28 begins by saying, ‘You will decree a thing’—not just your pastor, not just a prophet, but you shall make decrees that cause things to be established and light to shine on your way. The Hebrew word for thing (omer, Strong’s 562) means ‘the word’ or ‘the promise.’ What do we decree? We decree what God has spoken. “Today, God is looking for believers who will stay filled with the power of the Holy Spirit so they can boldly declare His life and divine purposes—and change history in a moment.” Pray with me: Father thank You for releasing the power of Your prophetic voice into the earth today. We pray that we will hear You clearly, in order to more effectively decree what You are saying into the earth. You told us to release Your governmental authority. We will continue to release what You have already clearly spoken: America shall be saved Worldwide harvest is coming The earth shall be FILLED with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea Miracles are on the increase Prodigals are coming home America shall be given a wise, God-honoring government once again In addition, we add our prayers for the people of Afghanistan. We ask You to use this situation to bring disillusionment regarding false religions and open millions of hearts to Christ. We pray for protection and great grace to our brothers and sisters there. We ask and declare these things in the mighty name of Jesus! Amen. Our decree: (Make it personal) I am anointed by the Holy Spirit to release declarations of breakthrough. I have the power to shape my world by the words I speak. I will open my mouth and decree what God says, and things will shift and change for me. Steward the Rain During the past few days, we’ve been looking at a dream Holy Spirit gave my friend, Greg Hood. The dream is about revivals of the past, represented in the dream by oil wells. The wells were no longer pumping or producing, having been neglected and abandoned. They were called “orphaned wells,” a term used in the industry to describe abandoned oil wells. God‘s purpose throughout the dream is to reveal His desire to rejuvenate wells of revival and release their fruit once again. The first one represented prayer, the second a fresh baptism of fire to spiritual leaders, and the third a great missions movement and a worldwide harvest. If you’ve not done so already, I encourage you to read or watch the three previous posts. Today we will look at the fourth and final part of the dream. CANE RIDGE WELL We were not allowed to stand around and watch. Gabriel said, “To the next well!” We quickly moved to the next well. It seemed to be a ways from us. As we made our way there we could see trickles of water beginning to drip from different parts of the well. This time Dutch did not use his handkerchief to clean it; he used his hand. As he wiped away some muddy water seeping from the well and running over the engraved plate he said, “This water is hot; it’s the Cane Ridge Well. The plate reads, ‘Be ready, this well erupts often! It’s on a timer!’” Gabriel said to Dutch, “Speak the timing of the Lord over this well. Speak it now! The time is NOW!” (The rumbling of the Fulton Street Prayer Well was getting louder by the second. It was so intense we could feel the ground shaking!) Dutch took a step forward, climbed the well, and from its top began declaring, “THIS IS THE TIMING OF THE LORD! THIS IS THE GREAT RELEASE OF HIS PROMISED OUTPOURING! AMERICA, RECEIVE YOUR GIFT! AMERICA, SHIFT! AMERICA, AWAKEN FROM YOUR SLEEP, FOR NOW, YOUR SALVATION IS HERE!” THE WELLS MIX As Dutch declared this from the Cane Ridge Well, it began to swell as it filled with water, ready to burst into a geyser. Dutch jumped from the Cane Ridge Well and as soon as his feet hit the ground the Fulton Street Well erupted, shaking the earth so much that it caused the Cane Ridge Well to erupt, sending its water high in the air. The erupting water from these two wells began coming together to the point that we could not tell which was water from the Fulton Street Well and which was from the Cane Ridge Well. As it shot into the sky the water ignited the clouds over America and fires of awakening began to fall all over the nation. Gabriel leaned into Dutch and said, “Now, steward the rain!” The fourth and last well-mentioned in the dream was Cane Ridge. The Cane Ridge Revival occurred in Kentucky in 1801, 20 miles or so east of Lexington. People poured in by the thousands. “One traveler wrote a Baltimore friend that he was on his way to the ‘greatest meeting of its kind ever known’ and that ‘religion has got to such a height here that people attend from a great distance; on this occasion, I doubt not but there will be 10,000 people.’ “He underestimated, but his miscalculation is understandable. Communions (annual three-to-five-day meetings climaxed with the Lord’s Supper) gathered people in the dozens, maybe the hundreds. At this Cane Ridge Communion, though, sometimes 20,000 people swirled about the grounds—watching, praying, preaching, weeping, groaning, falling. Though some stood at the edges and mocked, most left marveling at the wondrous hand of God. “The Cane Ridge Communion quickly became one of the best-reported events in American history, and according to Vanderbilt’s historian Paul Conkin, “arguably ... the most important religious gathering in all of American history.” It ignited the explosion of evangelical religion, which soon reached into nearly every corner of American life. For decades the prayer of camp meetings and revivals across the land was ‘Lord, make it like Cane Ridge.’”(1) Cane Ridge paved the way for the Second Great Awakening. When we arrived at the Cane Ridge Well in the dream, the water was already beginning to seep up and out of it. And it was hot, heated by the fire of God! We were told the eruptions were on a timer and that we were to decree over the well that the time was NOW for another gushing forth. It is extremely significant that throughout the dream the first well we visited, Fulton Street Well, grew louder and louder. This was the well of intercession. The louder and more intense it became, the more the other wells began to open, also. This prayer well was now literally shaking the ground. At the direction of the angel, Gabriel, I climbed the well and from its top began declaring. The declaration is so powerful it is worth reading again: “This is the timing of the Lord! This is the great release of His promised outpouring! America, receive your gift! America, shift! America, awaken from your sleep, for now, your salvation is here!” WOW! I believe with all of my being this is true. The great revival we have been crying out for is upon us. It’s time! Speak these words to your region. If you lead a congregation or group, speak them together. Do it over and over! As we did so in the dream, the pressure underground continued to increase. As I jumped down, the prayer well finally erupted, causing Cane Ridge to also erupt. The sky-high geysers merged into one in the air, then the water from the two geysers ignited the clouds - there’s a picture for ya! - into a holy fire of awakening, which fell on America! “Now, steward the rain!” Gabriel told us. We will have much fruit and work of Holy Spirit to steward in the coming years. Revival fire is about to be rained upon us. May the Fulton Street Well of prayer grow louder and louder, Tennent’s Well of fire in the hearts of leaders grow hotter and hotter, the Haystack Well of worldwide harvest release its laborers, and the awakening fire of Cane Ridge and the Second Great Awakening explode into the third. Pray with me: Father, we believe You are going to open the well of Cane Ridge and the Second Great Awakening, releasing fire from heaven to rain on the earth. We boldly ask You for this. We want our prayers to shake the earth and cause these wells of revival to burst open. May the power released from our intercession be explosive. We declare this is the timing of the Lord! This is the great release of His promised outpouring! America, receive your gift! America, shift! America, awaken from your sleep, for now, your salvation is here! And even now, Father, release wisdom and prepare leaders to steward the rain of revival that is coming. Give us heaven‘s strategy. Give us an understanding of our times. And give us Your heart for all of this. We ask for it all in the name of Yeshua. Our decree: The fire of revival is going to rain upon the earth; America - and many nations of the earth - shall receive God’s promised outpouring. Oil wells were everywhere - many different sizes and shapes. I commented to Dutch, “These are not traditional wells. These are special wells. Look how they are shaped and spaced apart.” We began walking through the field looking at each well, examining their components and how they were made. I then said to Dutch, “These wells are all still, not moving. They’re orphaned!” Dutch said to me, “I know these wells. I have studied them all. Their blueprints were given to me in my engineering class. I know how these wells worked and how they were designed to never stop gushing, but someone has tampered with them and their Dunamis Seal has dried and cracked. They cannot hold the correct level of pressure any longer.” FULTON STREET WELL Dutch pulled a handkerchief from his right rear pants pocket. As we walked up to one of the wells deep into the field, an old well, he began to wipe off an engraved plate on it. As he was doing so, he began to read from the engraved plate. I could see Dutch’s facial expression begin to change. It was one of excitement, yet also mixed with sadness. This engraved plate read, “Fulton Street Well.” Right under it was written “Dutch, don’t throw in the towel! Prime me with mayim.” I could see that Dutch was taken back by this. His countenance changed into one that revealed intense thinking and consideration. Dutch turned to me and said, “Give it to me! IT’S TIME!” (As he said this we could see an angel approaching us from the distance.) I reached into a bag I was carrying over my shoulder, pulled out a small bottle, shaped like a lion’s head, labeled “MAYIM FOR PRIMING.” I gave it to Dutch. He poured it over the primer seal of the well that was now dry-rotted. I remember thinking to myself in the dream, “This is not the way you prime a pump. You have to pour it in the primer.” Dutch then turned to me and said, “By the way, you don’t prime a well of revival the same way you try to maintain religion. Revival is in the seal. It creates the natural pressure that causes a gusher!” Instantly, the pump mechanism on the well began to move. It groaned deeply as it did so, like an old engine that has not been turned over in years does when one tries to start it. We could hear the water beginning to make its way up the pipe that was in the ground. Dutch said to me, “THIS IS IT! IT’S HAPPENING!” TENNENT’S WELL We ran to another well. Again Dutch began rubbing the engraved plate with his handkerchief to wipe away the years of accumulated grime. The plate read, “Tennent’s Well of Fire.” Inscribed underneath this was, “Ministers Must be Born Again!” (We could still hear the rumbling of the Fulton Street Well! It was getting louder and louder.) Gabriel, the Archangel, stepped out from behind this well as Dutch and I were pondering its design and said to us, “If you prime this well you will make many enemies among the religious. But, if you do prime this well, many will catch fire!” Dutch looked at me, turned and looked at Gabriel, then once more turned and looked at me. He then said, “To hell with the consequences! We are priming this well! Hood, give me the other bottle.” I reached into my bag and pulled from it another bottle. This bottle was oil, labeled “Hebrews 1:7.” [”And regarding the angels He says, ‘He makes His angels winds, And His ministers a flame of fire.’”] I handed it to Dutch. He took the cork out of the bottle and began pouring the oil into a hole in the side of the well. This hole looked like a spout where you would put gas into your car. It had a sticker on it that said, “oil reservoir.” We could hear the oil Dutch was pouring from the bottle hitting the bottom of the reservoir. It had been completely empty! Dutch kept pouring from the bottle till the reservoir was full and overflowed. Gabriel said to Dutch, “Ignite it!” Hearing this, Dutch took a step forward toward the well and shouted at it with a voice of authority, “FIVE-FOLD, BE BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND FIRE!” As soon as he declared this, the Tennent Well shot a flame of fire out the top of it that seemed to reach the sky. As this well started to burn, people began running to it with pieces of wood in their hands, which they ignited with the fire coming from the well. As soon as their wood was lit they would turn and run away from the well, carrying the fire back to where they came from. I knew in the dream that the wood they brought to the burning well was wood from their pulpits, which they had broken up. HAYSTACK WELL Gabriel then said to us, “There are other wells that need your attention. Go to the next well.” We ran to the next well. Dutch did as he did with the two previous wells, rubbing the engraved plate to clean it. He began reading aloud what was inscribed there. It read, “Haystack Well.” Underneath that was inscribed, “From these shores to the shores of nations the gospel of the kingdom shall go.” As Dutch finished reading this engraved plate, a man by the name of Hudson appeared from the side of the Haystack Well. He said to us, “The nations are weeping, crying out for relief from the slavery of religion which the church created. Send them the help they need.” Gabriel spoke to Dutch and said, “Call the intercessors. Surround the well. Release the well.” I said to Dutch, “Here, take this.” I handed him a bugle from my bag. He brought it to his lips and began playing the “fatigue call.” ["Fatigue Call" is a military bugle call that signals all designated personnel to report for “fatigue duty,” which is the labor assigned to soldiers that do not require the use of armament.] As he sounded this call, members of the election team intercessors [This is the group of leaders I took to 9 cities to pray over the elections] began appearing around the well. Dutch said to a member of the team, “Pray this into the well.” To another, he said, “Declare this into the well.” To others, “Prophesy into the well!” And so on. As each did what they were instructed to do, a large door opened on the side of the well and thousands of people began coming up out of the well. Each one had 2 flags around their shoulders, an American flag and the flag of another nation, and was carrying an Appeal to Heaven flag on a pole. CANE RIDGE WELL We were not allowed to stand around and watch. Gabriel said, “To the next well!” We quickly moved to the next well. It seemed to be a ways from us. As we made our way there we could see trickles of water beginning to drip from different parts of the well. This time Dutch did not use his handkerchief to clean it; he used his hand. As he wiped away some muddy water seeping from the well and running over the engraved plate he said, “This water is hot; it’s the Cane Ridge Well. The plate reads, ‘Be ready, this well erupts often! It’s on a timer!’” Gabriel said to Dutch, “Speak the timing of the Lord over this well. Speak it now! The time is NOW!” (The rumbling of the Fulton Street Prayer Well was getting louder by the second. It was so intense we could feel the ground shaking!) Dutch took a step forward, climbed the well, and from its top began declaring, “THIS IS THE TIMING OF THE LORD! THIS IS THE GREAT RELEASE OF HIS PROMISED OUTPOURING! AMERICA, RECEIVE YOUR GIFT! AMERICA, SHIFT! AMERICA, AWAKEN FROM YOUR SLEEP, FOR NOW, YOUR SALVATION IS HERE!” THE WELLS MIX As Dutch declared this from the Cane Ridge Well, it began to swell as it filled with water, ready to burst into a geyser. Dutch jumped from the Cane Ridge Well and as soon as his feet hit the ground the Fulton Street Well erupted, shaking the earth so much that it caused the Cane Ridge Well to erupt, sending its water high in the air. The erupting water from these two wells began coming together to the point that we could not tell which was water from the Fulton Street Well and which was from the Cane Ridge Well. As it shot into the sky the water ignited the clouds over America and fires of awakening begin to fall all over the nation. Send the Laborers! We’ve been looking at a dream Holy Spirit gave my friend, Greg Hood. The dream is about revivals of the past, represented in the dream by oil wells. The wells were no longer pumping or producing, having been neglected and abandoned. They were called “orphaned wells,” a term used in the industry to describe abandoned oil wells. God‘s purpose throughout the dream is to reveal his desire to rejuvenate past wells of revival and release their fruit once again. The first one represented prayer, the second a fresh baptism of fire to spiritual leaders. If you have not yet seen or heard the posts, please do so. Today we will look at part 3 of the dream, and finish it on Monday. HAYSTACK WELL Gabriel then said to us, “There are other wells that need your attention. DUTCH’S COMMENTARY There is so much to unpack in this dream! The Haystack Revival began at Williams College, Williamstown, MA. “Five Williams College students met in the summer of 1806, in a grove of trees near the Hoosack River, then known as Sloan’s Meadow, and debated the theology of missionary service. Their meeting was suddenly interrupted by a thunderstorm and the students took shelter under a haystack until the sky cleared. ‘The brevity of the shower, the strangeness of the place of refuge, and the peculiarity of their topic of prayer and conference all took hold of their imaginations and their memories.’ “In 1808 the Haystack Prayer group and other Williams students began a group called ‘The Brethren.’ This group was organized to ‘affect, in the persons of its members, a mission to’ those who were not Christians. In 1812, they sent their first missionaries – to the Indian subcontinent. This is viewed by many scholars as the seminal event for the development of American Protestant missions.”(1) This history, along with the phrase under the name stating that the gospel would go forth from these shores, and the appearance of “Hudson” - almost certainly the great missionary to China, Hudson Taylor - make it clear that God is saying this revival will result in a new missions movement. The phrase spoken by Taylor is heart wrenching: “The nations are weeping, they are crying out for relief from the slavery of religion which the church created. Send them the help they need.” We were instructed to call for intercessors, surround the well and call forth this movement through prayers, decrees, and by prophesying - asking, dictating as the Ekklesia, and prophesying God’s will and purposes into the earth. A remnant of the body of Christ is now equipped to do all of this, manifesting the fullness of Christ’s anointings and functions. Ephesians 4:13, from the Amplified Bible, says we are growing “in the knowledge of the son of God, [growing spiritually] to become a mature believer, reaching to the measure of the fullness of Christ [manifesting His spiritual completeness and exercising our spiritual gifts in unity].” In this great coming revival, the church is going to reveal the “fullness” of Christ - “His spiritual completeness” - to the nations of the earth. I don’t believe the church has been equipped to reveal the fullness of who Christ is since the days of the early church in Acts. One reason is we have not understood and operated in the fullness of His five gifts/anointings He gave us (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers) in order to accomplish this (see Ephesians 4:11-12). These functions have now been restored and, consequently, the fullness of who Christ is will be manifested. The earth has never experienced the level of revival that is coming. The call issued from the bugle is very interesting: the “fatigue call,” a call for soldiers to work but not at war (not with weapons). Though the church will always need to involve herself in spiritual warfare (2 Corinthians 10:3-5; Ephesians 6:12), I believe Holy Spirit is pointing out that those released from this well are not so much the warriors but the reapers, the evangelists, the messengers. As we prayed, decreed, and prophesied over this well, laborers began to emerge by the thousands, carrying not only the U.S. flag but another - no doubt that of the nation to which they were sent. All had Appeal To Heaven flags, as well. Nothing gets accomplished without prayer. Please don’t make light of the fact that God required the church to release her authority and decrees in order to see these laborers released. Matthew 9:37-38 tells us, “Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, plead with the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.’” Even though God obviously wants laborers to come forth who will reap the great harvest, this doesn’t occur just because it is His desire. He works on the earth through people, not independently of them. We must ask! All of the prophetic voices I know are prophesying that this next revival will be worldwide and result in the greatest global harvest ever. Some Christians who don’t know me and have not followed me very long, mistakenly think my focus and burden for America is a misplaced exalting of America above other people and nations. This is far from true. My passion for America’s restoration and destiny is because of God’s love of all people and nations. America's calling is to serve all the earth for worldwide harvest. Let’s ask for this now. Pray with me: Father, we thank You for the incredible pleasure of partnering with You to save the world. Thank You for raising up America as a trumpet of the gospel to all the nations of the earth. We honor those in our past who have paid great prices to take the gospel around the world. They are now ready to hand the baton to us. Though in our day this will look different - the communication tools will be different, the modes of transportation will be different, and the political spectrum of the planet has changed - the assignment and it’s basic goal will be the same: take the gospel of the kingdom to the ends of the earth. Open another Haystack Well of revival. Just as You showed us to call forth workers in the dream, we now call forth thousands of laborers into the harvest. We cry out to Jesus, the Lord of the Harvest: “Send laborers!!! Awaken the church to this glorious partnership You have offered us.” We ask this in the name of Yeshua, believing that we have received what we asked You for. It still works. America shall be saved! Send the Fire Yesterday I began talking about a dream Holy Spirit recently gave to a friend and prophet, Greg Hood. The dream is about revivals of the past, represented in the dream by oil wells. The wells were no longer pumping or producing, having been neglected and abandoned. They were called “orphaned wells,” a term used in the industry to describe abandoned oil wells. Throughout the dream, God reveals His desire to rejuvenate past wells of revival and release their fruit once again. The first revival well mentioned in the dream was the 1857 Fulton Street prayer revival in New York. Daily prayer spread across the country to tens of thousands of people and resulted in hundreds of thousands coming to Christ. God’s instruction of how to restart the well was for water - the river of life - found in Holy Spirit to be poured on it once again. If you did not see or hear the post, please do so. Today we will look at the second well in Greg’s dream and what it represents. TENNENT’S WELL We ran to another well. Again Dutch began rubbing the engraved plate with his handkerchief to wipe away the years of accumulated grime. The plate read, “Tennent’s Well of Fire.” Inscribed underneath this was, “Ministers Must be Born Again!” (We could still hear the rumbling of the Fulton Street Well! It was getting louder and louder.) Gabriel, the Archangel, stepped out from behind this well as Dutch and I were pondering its design and said to us, “If you prime this well you will make many enemies among the religious. But, if you do prime this well, many will catch fire!” Dutch looked at me, turned and looked at Gabriel, then once more turned and looked at me. He then said, “To hell with the consequences! We are priming this well! Hood, give me the other bottle.” I reached into my bag and pulled from it another bottle. This bottle was oil, labeled “Hebrews 1:7.” [”And regarding the angels He says, ‘He makes His angels winds, And His ministers a flame of fire.’”] I handed it to Dutch. He took the cork out of the bottle and began pouring the oil into a hole in the side of the well. This hole looked like a spout where you would put gas into your car. It had a sticker on it that said, “oil reservoir.” We could hear the oil Dutch was pouring from the bottle hitting the bottom of the reservoir. It had been completely empty! Dutch kept pouring from the bottle till the reservoir was full and overflowed. Gabriel said to Dutch, “Ignite it!” Hearing this, Dutch took a step forward toward the well and shouted at it with a voice of authority, “FIVE-FOLD, BE BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND FIRE!” As soon as he declared this, the Tennent Well shot a flame of fire out the top of it that seemed to reach the sky. As this well started to burn, people began running to it with pieces of wood in their hands, which they ignited with the fire coming from the well. As soon as their wood was lit they would turn and run away from the well, carrying the fire back to where they came from. I knew in the dream that the wood they brought to the burning well was wood from their pulpits, which they had broken up. (The final part of the dream will be shared in tomorrow’s post.) Gilbert Tennent, a revivalist preacher, was a leader in the First Great Awakening along with George Whitefield and Jonathan Edwards. Whitefield called him “a son of thunder.” He became very controversial and even divisive through his emphasis on the need for a new birth. One of his sermons, entitled “The Danger of An Unconverted Ministry,” was especially offensive to some. “Tennent was unsparing in the sermon, calling opposing ministers ‘Pharisee-teachers’ who had ‘no experience of a special work of the Holy Ghost upon their own souls’ and comparing them to Satan transformed into an angel of light. Tennent argued that ministers who had not experienced conversion could not preach the gospel, and that Christians who had been converted were free to leave their churches and seek other ministers. Tennent had a point: many ministers had not experienced a new birth.”(1) Thus the phrase in the dream under the well’s name: “Ministers Must Be Born Again.” Knowing this challenge from Tennent to the clergy of his day, it is easy to discern what God is saying to us through this well. He is showing us that after the prayer revival (which was becoming louder and louder in the dream) there must be a revival that impacts leaders in the church. Gabriel warned us in the dream that if we primed this well we would make many enemies among the religious. But also, many would catch fire. We decided to prime the well. The bottle of oil, labeled Hebrews 1:7, refers to God making “His ministers a flame of fire.” Although I have shared it before on one of our posts, the following quote from Alex de Tocqueville is appropriate here. Frenchman Alex de Tocqueville came to America in 1831 to study our nation: I sought for the key to the greatness and genius of America in her harbors; in her fertile fields and boundless forests; in her rich mines and vast world commerce; in her public school system and institutions of learning. I sought for it in her democratic Congress and in her matchless Constitution. Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits aflame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power.(2) America’s pulpits were on fire - the key to America’s greatness! Gabriel told me to ignite the oil! In the dream, I commanded, “Five-fold, be baptized with the Holy Spirit and fire!” A flame exploded from the well. As it burned, ministers brought pieces of wood from their busted-up pulpits and lit them with Tennent’s fire. They then took this fire back to their congregations. It is impossible to miss the symbolism here! We ministers must become flames of fire once again, and our pulpits must be ablaze. I am reminded of the great song Send the Fire, written by William booth, founder and leader of the Salvation Army. Verse 1 Thou Christ of burning, cleansing flame, Send the fire! Thy blood-bought gift today we claim, Send the fire! Look down and see this waiting host, Give us the promised Holy Ghost, We want another Pentecost, Send the fire! Verse 2 God of Elijah, hear our cry: Send the fire! To make us fit to live or die, Send the fire! To burn up every trace of sin, To bring the light and glory in, The revolution now begin, Send the fire! Verse 3 ‘Tis fire we want, for fire we plead, Send the fire! The fire will meet our every need, Send the fire! For strength to ever do the right, For grace to conquer in the fight, For power to walk the world in white, Send the fire! Verse 4 To make our weak hearts strong and brave, Send the fire! To live a dying world to save, Send the fire! O see us on thy altar lay Our lives, our all, this very day, To crown the offering now we pray, Send the fire! (3) I am not throwing stones or making accusations against the spiritual leaders in our nation. I am simply saying that if we want to see the great revival God is offering us now, we must ask Him for His fire and receive it unconditionally, with nothing held back. May our pulpits become kindling that light the flames of holy fire in America. Pray with me: Father, we ask You to forgive us as leaders in the church for allowing the fire within us to wane at times. Like those to whom we minister, we sometimes allow busyness, the cares of life, problems, and other circumstances to dampen the flame of our passion. We ask You to re-open the well of Tennent’s revival. It’s fire we want, it’s fire we need. Please, send the fire. You said in the dream that if we would prime this well, many would catch fire. We ask You for this now. Make Your ministers a flame of fire! We say to the leaders of Your church, “Five-fold, be baptized with the Holy Spirit and fire! May your pulpits become kindling, used by Holy Spirit to light fires in those who follow you.” We thank You, Father, for doing this. We confidently ask in the name of the Lord Jesus, declaring America shall be saved!
