The Need for Righteous Anger On Tuesday, November 30, 2022, 12 Republican Senators, along with 49 Democrats, voted to completely disregard and disrespect God and the Scriptures, stating by their actions that His clearly stated will regarding marriage means nothing. (Democrat Senator Warnock of Georgia didn’t vote; he was campaigning for his runoff election with Herschel Walker. Had he voted, he too would have voted against biblical marriage.) Some of these 61 Senators profess to be Christians, while still profaning the first and most important covenant relationship God established: the marriage of one man and one woman. I’m not sure how one can lord it over God and His Word, declare His will and standard to be wrong, and still profess to be a Christian. It doesn’t get more dishonest, arrogant, and hypocritical than that. This law, along with the Obergefel decision of the Supreme Court in 2015, will go down in our history as two of America’s most disgraceful acts. Most Christians, including myself, have no hatred or animosity toward homosexuals. We wish them no harm, love and respect them as fellow humans, and recognize their rights as such. We simply refuse to acknowledge any and all humans’ the right to redefine God’s ordained covenant of marriage as being between one man and one woman. What makes this more hypocritical is that with homosexual marriage already protected in all states by the Supreme Court’s ruling, this law was completely unnecessary. However, it will now undoubtedly pass in the House and be signed into law by Biden. Dick Morris, in a Newsmax article, states: “Its real purpose is to set up a statutory basis for prosecuting or persecuting anyone who dissents and won't personally cooperate with the new definition of marriage. It will go after bakers who won't do a cake for a gay couple and all those whose religious principles do not permit them to sanction marriage between two men or two women. “The Democrats are jamming the bill through during the current lame duck session of Congress so that they can profit from the votes of about-to-be former Senators who did not have the courage to vote yes, but now that they are out of harm's way are willing to vote for this misguided law. “It should not be called the Defense of Marriage Act but the Defense of Cowards Act. Retiring Sens. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, Richard Burr, R-N.C., and Roy Blunt, R-Mo., are voting for the bill even though they know that were they seeking reelection, their voters in conservative states would never approve of their positions. Now, they are showing their true colors as social progressives too late for their constituents to punish them. “Let hypocrisy reign supreme in the Washington swamp.”(1) As mentioned, 9 more Republicans - a total of 12 - voted in favor of the same-sex marriage measure. The 12 were: “Roy Blunt, R-Missouri Richard Burr, R-North Carolina Shelley Moore Capito, R-West Virginia Susan Collins, R-Maine Joni Ernst, R-Iowa Cynthia Lummis, R-Wyoming Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska Rob Portman, R-Ohio Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska Mitt Romney, R-Utah Thom Tillis, R-North Carolina Todd Young, R-Indiana.”(2) Three Senators (Lankford, Lee, and Rubio) tried to include amendments to the law that would have explicitly prohibited the harassment and prosecution of those who refuse to honor same-sex marriage but were unable to do so. “In an impassioned floor speech delivered before the voting began on the amendments, Lankford asked, ‘Is today about respecting the rights of all, or about silencing some and respecting others?’”(3) Senator Mike Lee, in attempting a compromise in order to get his amendment included, offered an impassioned appeal on the floor of the Senate. Here is his appeal, in part: “How we proceed today will do nothing to the status quo of same-sex marriage in this country. It’s legal and will remain legal regardless of the outcome of this legislation. “It will, however, if enacted, have profound consequences for people of faith… “My colleagues have yet to offer even a single example of a same-sex marriage threatened by any current or pending state legislation, not one, not a single one… “Unfortunately, we are aware of case after case where individuals, charities, small businesses, religious schools, and religious institutions are being hauled into courts to defend themselves for living out their faith. These people are not committing hate crimes against their neighbors. No, they’re not abusing peers for their personal choices, either. No, they’re being hauled into courts across this country for serving the poor, the needy, and the refugee in compliance with their sincerely held religious beliefs. “In Texas, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is currently being sued for operating in accordance with Catholic beliefs regarding marriage while providing foster homes for unaccompanied minor children. Now, proponents of this bill claim that these charities will be free to continue to operate. However, in that case, the question is whether, because the Conference of Catholic Bishops receives federal funding to help with its work, it might be operating under color of law. [A law regarding discrimination that could be unfairly applied to them.] “If accepting grants and licenses from the government makes you an actor under color of law, then many of our religious charities and schools will be threatened by this legislation, which relies on that un-narrowed, undefined phrase. Either the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops can cease operating according to its religious tenets or abandon its God-given mission to care for the refugee. “In at least three other cases, religious child care service agencies deemed to be acting under color of law are being shut out of foster care and adoption. These religious ministries can either abandon and cease to act according to their convictions, their religious convictions about marriage, or they can abandon the orphan. This nation and our orphans rely on these charities… “In recent years, the Obama administration, through the U.S. Department of Education, compiled a so-called shame list outlining more than 200 faith-based colleges and universities seeking religious exemptions from Title IX guidance on transgender and sex discrimination. It is highly likely that these organizations could also risk losing their 501(c)(3) status. “...considering that we’re in the process of hiring 87,000 new agents within the Internal Revenue Service, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that some of these new IRS agents will be deployed specifically to review the tax-exempt status of some of these traditionally exempt religious schools. These colleges and universities can either cease operating according to their religious convictions or run the risk of losing their ability to provide quality education at reduced prices. We may well find that they will not be able to do both and that would be a tragedy... “And we have the opportunity to [prevent this today], and we shouldn’t miss it. Unlike the hypothetical, but entirely nonexistent marriages being threatened or discriminated against, these religious organizations are currently, right now, in court fighting for their God-given and constitutionally-protected rights to live and operate according to their beliefs and conscience. “They’re being targeted and harassed by those who would force them to abandon their convictions and embrace the convictions preferred by the government… “The only outcome we can expect from this legislation is for religious individuals, businesses, and institutions to spend more time and more money defending their God-given rights in court... “My amendment simply prohibits the federal government from discriminating against schools, businesses, and organizations based on their religious beliefs about same-sex marriage. That’s all it does. “[It] prevents the Internal Revenue Service, among other things, from revoking the tax-exempt status of these charities and organizations simply because they act according to their beliefs about the divine purpose of marriage. “It prevents the Department of Education from targeting schools with honor codes based on the fact that they’ve got provisions in their honor codes based on religious beliefs. It protects individuals from being denied business licenses or grants or other statuses based on their views about marriage. It protects Americans who wish to act according to their religious beliefs from being forced to abandon their God-given mandates to love, serve, and care for the poor, the orphan, and the refugee. If we allow the government to threaten their ability to do so, then the religious liberty of every American is in peril… “...why wouldn’t anyone want to deny the federal government the authority to retaliate against individuals, nonprofits, and other entities based on their sincerely held religious beliefs? Think about that for a minute. Why wouldn’t they want to deny that very power from a government that may wield it in a way that is categorically abusive?”(4) This is precisely why I wrote the post last week [11/23/2022] entitled One More Night With the Frogs. If you did not see that post, PLEASE take the time to read or listen to it. It spells out why I believe that though America will recover, the shaking of our nation will continue, and get worse before it gets better. Finally, it is okay to experience righteous anger regarding this (as I do); however, we must not waver in our faith. Though we lose some battles, we WILL win the spiritual and cultural war for the soul of our nation. Persevere! Pray with me: Father, please continue to give our nation mercy, even as it mocks and rejects You. Were it not for Your mercy, we would have perished already. We believe that You will honor the prayers and repentance of a remnant and cleanse this nation. We believe You will restore America to her purpose and destiny. We will continue to partner with You in this, believing that as the all-wise God, You will prevail. We ask You to judge the wicked acts that have taken place in our land. We ask You to judge evil laws and do whatever it takes to bring America to her knees. We ask You to remove from power those who promote and honor evil above Your righteous ways. Finish the work of breaking off of us the control of principalities and powers. Bring us back to You. We know this will require a revival of unprecedented proportions, but You have said this will occur and we stand fast in our faith for it. All this we pray in Christ’s name, amen. Our decree: We declare that the blood of Jesus is greater than all of our sins and that mercy will triumph over judgment. (Beginning tomorrow, I’m going to do a few posts explaining what allowed America to devolve into the mess we are in.) How It All Started Thank you for joining me today. If I look like I’m excited, I am. Our new book is finally here. Today I’m going to be sharing from it. We have chosen some of our best Give Him 15 posts - the ones where we have received the most positive feedback. Some are regarding America’s destiny, as well as the origin of the Appeal to Heaven flag. You’ll hear about the Ekklesia, decrees, and some readings will just be inspirational. I have taken these teachings from my 45 years of study and prayer. This book is the first of three, a trilogy. It is a high-quality hardback book, and we are offering it for $15. Some books of this quality are $25, but we have priced ours reasonably so everyone can have one. We also have a matching journal in our store for those of you who need more than the extra pages we have made available within the book. I believe this new book will enhance your walk with God and will help mature you in prayer - for yourself and for our nation. I’ll begin… I am confident our prayers are being used to release what God needs for the shifting of our government, as well as to begin the coming revival. Not one prayer has been unfruitful or unproductive! As we have mentioned before, our prayers are filling the bowls of heaven (Revelation 5:8). I also came to realize, however, that the posts were taking on another purpose. Many who read and watched were using them as their daily devotional. Others commented that the posts were bringing them hope. Thousands of people told us they started their day with the “15” post, urging us not to stop them after the 2020 election process ended. As I prayed, a new concept emerged in my heart. Not only could a large number of us agree in prayer each day, but we could also use the posts to teach and shape believers into what God needs and desires in this new era. We have found that many believers want to know more about intercession, some lacking even a basic biblical foundation of faith and prayer. Thousands email us wanting to know about decrees, declarations, the Ekklesia, and numerous other subjects we have discussed. Therefore, we continue to teach on prayer and revelation needed to mature the Ekklesia (the church)(1) in her role of representing Christ on the earth. The church must mature her biblical worldview, learn to hear from God, and become more acquainted with Him. Thank you for taking this journey with us on a daily basis. Without you, there is no reason for Give Him 15. It exists to multiply prayer and bring understanding to you regarding your walk with Christ. My journey involves a different flag in America’s past, one that is especially relevant to our God-given purpose and destiny. Modern-day progressives, historical revisionists, liberal politicians, and humanistic professors would scoff at the notion that America was established by God for a divine purpose. They would also mock the assertion that our founders believed in and honored this divine-human partnership. As John Adams said, however, “facts are stubborn things…”(2) These modernists may not like our origins, but they can’t change them. Yahweh, the God of the Bible, was indeed involved in America’s founding and He did so for His unique purpose. When General George Washington commissioned the Appeal to Heaven flag to fly over our naval ships in the Revolutionary War(3) - don’t look for that in our modern-day American history books - little did he know that 240 years later, God would ordain that it fly again. This time around, however, it wouldn’t fly over a fledgling nation being born, but over the most powerful nation in the world being reborn. This rebirth isn’t literal, of course, but is a spiritual and moral renewal that will resurrect America’s God-given calling, purpose, and greatness. Today, let it be said of our generation that when a nation teetered on the edge of destruction, having lost the ancient path of truth, we answered the divine call to war for its restoration. Let it be said of us, as it was of our forefathers, that in the face of overwhelming odds, we took our stand in the celestial courtroom, appealing to the Judge of all the earth for His saving grace, mercy, and sustaining power. Let us appeal to heaven…it still works! The word patriot comes from the Greek word pater, which means “father.”(4) A patriot is one who honors and embraces the heritage, visions, and ideals of their father/s. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob honors this principle; so should we. True patriotism connects us to our roots: past ideals, creeds, purposes, covenants made with God, and other aspects. This connection makes history relevant, giving us benchmarks and boundaries from which to measure our present and future. In a literal sense, for one to say he or she is a “patriotic” American and not embrace the principles of our Founders, which includes allegiance to and partnership with God, is a contradiction in terms. When Lewis Morris was faced with the monumental decision of whether or not to sign the Declaration of Independence, his brother warned him vehemently against it. The cost - life, fortune, perhaps family - would simply be too great. Morris’ response was one for the ages: “Damn the consequences, give me the pen.”(5) Would that today’s government leaders had such unselfish, patriotic hearts. Some do, of course, but far too few. Perhaps others will one day discover the true American soul. For many, it is too late; they sold out to selfish ambition long ago. Words may very well be the greatest conduit of authority and power in the world. God’s “Let there be” created the world and everything in it. Ecclesiastes 12:11 says, “The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies” (KJV). Nails help us build, construct, assemble, and hold things together. So do words. The Master Craftsman used words to build the earth, the seas, the mountains, and all the other amazing elements and dimensions of creation. Hebrews 1:3 tells us He also holds all of this together by the power of His words and decrees! Luke’s gospel says that even the incarnation - God becoming human - was caused by a combination of God’s words and Spirit. When Mary asked how she, a virgin, could have a child, the angel informed her that the power of Holy Spirit would overshadow her and impregnate her with Jesus (1:35). Then he said, “Nothing will be impossible with God” (1:37). This translation of Luke 1:37 doesn’t do justice to the strength of what the angel actually said. The most literal and accurate rendering is: “No word spoken by God is without power.”(6) What a statement this is, and what ramifications it carries for us. Our all-powerful God infuses transcendent power into His words. They become the carriers of His awesome strength. We become the voice of God on the earth, decreeing His decrees for Him! Job 22:28 says, “You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; and light will shine on your ways.” The first part could be more literally rendered “You will decree a decree.” (7) We discern God’s will and/or His decree - what He has determined about a given situation - and we decree His decree. Incredible! The Declaration of Independence As our Founders declared their independence from England, they also acknowledged their dependence upon God. The Declaration of Independence, our original founding document, has four clear references to God, speaking of Him as our Lawmaker, Creator, Judge, and Protector. The Declaration concludes with these words: “For the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”(8) After signing the Declaration, some wept. Others, like Witherspoon, bowed their heads in prayer.(9) Samuel Adams rose and stated, “We have this day restored the Sovereign, to Whom alone men ought to be obedient. He reigns in heaven and...from the rising to the setting sun, may His Kingdom come.”(10) To say God wasn’t involved in raising up America is asinine. Satan had been beaten up by Christ in every possible way for three years. The blind saw, the lame walked, the deaf heard, and the dead were raised. Then just when he thought he had finally defeated the Son of God, Christ turned the tables on him and rose from the dead. At least He was finally gone from the planet, back to heaven, satan must have thought. Then, on the day of Pentecost, satan’s absolute worst nightmare was realized: there were 120 more just like Him! And the multiplication has never stopped. Christ brought us into the family of God. He made us His brothers and sisters, sons and daughters of the Most High God, His joint-heirs. We bear His image and name. We are filled with His Spirit and completely authorized to reveal and represent Him on earth. And that can never be stopped or reversed. That, my friend, is what Resurrection Day means to me! Pray with me: Father, we thank You for forming this nation as a beacon of light, a city on a hill. Thank You for the leaders of each state who wrote into their constitutions an acknowledgment of and dependence upon You. We pray now for today’s government leaders. Give us legislators and judges who diligently acknowledge reliance upon You and Your statutes. Only through You will we see America’s destiny fulfilled. Heal America’s breaches; heal our history. Repair the racial wounds and deliver us from wicked leaders that use them to divide us. Remove them from positions of authority. Expose their hypocrisy and evil agendas. We boldly ask You to bless our nation and bring a sweeping revival - an awakening that will touch every soul. Come, Holy Spirit, sweep across our land. We invite You into our states and cities. We ask for these things in Christ’s name, Amen. Click on the link below to watch the full video. 1. The Greek word for “church” is ekklesia and means ‘legislative assembly’ or ‘selected ones.’ This is not a religious term at all, but a governmental term that is used many times in classical Greek for a group of people who have been summoned and gathered together to govern the affairs of a city. For Jesus to use this term means He is giving the keys of governmental authority in His Kingdom to the church.” - Simmons, Brian. The Passion Translation, Passion & Fire Ministries, Inc., 2017. The Oil of Joy I spoke to you last week about the shaking that will continue as God allows America’s decisions to bear their fruit. I also mentioned that simultaneously, the momentum of Holy Spirit’s outpouring will intensify. Believers can prosper in the shaking. My brother, Tim Sheets, recently delivered a strong word confirming this. Tim shares: “The body of Christ is in a strategic God-planned time. God is leading His people into an awesome new era. He has not abdicated His throne or submitted His Kingdom to the government of man, a political party or to a league of nations. He is going to clearly show He has not handed over the deed of the earth. He will demonstrate again that He is the supreme potentate, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Holy Spirit is orchestrating this planned season and leading the lives of those who willingly follow Him. “The Ekklesia needs to remain engaged and be vigilant concerning spiritual matters in our times. 1 Chronicles 12:32 tells us the sons of Issachar understood the times they were living in and knew what they ought to do. Holy Spirit can anoint our eyes to see, our ears to hear and help us discern the right course to take. He will give wisdom, insight and guidance in distinguishing between options. “We are also instructed in Ezekiel 3:17 to embrace the call to be watchmen. Holy Spirit will give us the watchman’s anointing to hear the Word of the Lord and warn others. This is a holy calling that must not be compromised. The watchman calling can be difficult at times as we fight in spiritual battles, but all believers bear this responsibility. In the times we are living in, it is vital to hear and obey the Word of the Lord. “Holy Spirit has revealed that something incredible is unfolding. Its conception is in the genius ability of God. There is creativity being released that only God can generate. Plans of the Godhead are emerging and creating a different atmosphere for His heirs. Strategies, awakening, and reformation will now rise with Holy Spirit passion. A divine merger of the Kingdom of Heaven with Christ’s Kingdom in the earth realm is underway and gaining momentum. You can’t see momentum, but you can feel it and I feel it starting to rise. This will cause an anointing and activation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. “This anointing will be beneficial to the body of Christ at large, as well as to individual believers. This will be incredibly significant producing great success. Words of wisdom and knowledge will reach higher levels. Gifts of healing and miracles will amp up. Prophecy, as well as clarity in prophecy, will also amp up. The gift of faith will increase to much higher levels and activate dramatic miracles of Biblical proportion. “Those in five-fold ministry who refuse to compromise a Biblical standard will also operate at a much higher level. Evangelists will function with great passion and anointing because we are entering a supernatural season of great harvest. Pastors, teachers, prophets and apostles will see heightened clarity and anointing to function in their callings as the merging of heaven and earth releases the will of God on the earth. “As Christ’s Kingdom is accelerating and amping up, Holy Spirit is also invigorating the lives of His saints. New eras of Holy Spirit activity always bring energized hope and fresh breath. Life surges into believers as the increased presence of the Lord comes to them. Holy Spirit administers this with the outpouring of ‘the oil of joy.’ When you are anointed with the oil of joy, you will be equipped to operate extraordinarily. “A supernatural atmosphere heightens anticipation and replaces hope deferred. Change is coming, not just to a nation but also to we, His heirs. Fresh breath and wind is being breathed into the remnant and numb feelings are coming to life. Lives will be realigned in extraordinary ways. Resurrection life is being released and like Lazarus, grave clothes are falling off God’s people. Places of burial are becoming places of testimony. He is giving beauty for ashes and turning mourning into joy. “Stagnant gifts are coming to life and souls are being restored. Lost purpose is being reignited and tired prophets are finding their voice again. Those who have hung their harps on willow trees, only using them to play funeral dirges will sing new songs of praise. ‘He put a new song in my mouth. A hymn of praise unto my God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord’ (Psalm 40:3). The spiritual force of joy is being activated from God’s glory surges and filling those who have lost the joy of their salvation. Holy Spirit is pouring out the oil of joy. You will be refreshed, invigorated, filled with hope and expectation. “Hear the word of the Lord: “‘Life winds are blowing. Joy winds are blowing. Joy and laughter are returning to Zion. Receive fresh breath! Receive fresh joy! Receive fresh strength. Receive resurrection wind. Dead souls are resurrecting, says the Lord. Dead emotions are resurrecting. Dead dreams are resurrecting. Hope that’s alive is now soaking those who trust what I say.’ “I recently read a sign that said, ‘I miss me. I miss the joyful me. I miss my energy. I miss my smile. I miss my glow and I’m going to get it back.’ Holy Spirit is working to help us get our glow back. He’s pouring out the oil of joy to realign our souls and get our laugh back. Joy is available to soak God’s people. “Holy Spirit is anointing the heirs with intelligence and wisdom that reveals the appropriate time for an event to come into its season. He is anointing us with perception to sense and distinguish the proper option clearly, so that it can be perfectly executed as designed by Heaven. He’s preparing us for the release of God’s genius creative activities, so we can participate. Supernatural recovery is now in process.” Pray with me: Holy Spirit, anoint us to be watchmen. Give us eyes to see and ears to hear. Help us discern the times. Give us heaven’s strategies and activate the gifts of the Spirit within us. Move us to higher levels. Open portals of glory over Your Ekklesias. Blow fresh breath and wind upon your people. Holy Spirit, pour out your oil of joy and realign our souls. Restore lost hopes, dreams and purpose to your people. Plans of Holy Spirit are connecting to their moment, momentum is rising. There will be worldwide revival. We declare this on earth, as it is in heaven! Your Kingdom come, Your will be done! In Jesus’ name, Amen. Our decree: Holy Spirit is pouring out the oil of joy. Stagnant gifts and lost purpose are coming back to life. Today’s post was contributed by my brother, Tim Sheets. Revelation: The Missing Piece Biblically speaking, revelation is simply supernaturally revealed knowledge. This information can come via Holy Spirit speaking to us inwardly, the Scriptures, the gifts of the Spirit, dreams, visions, and more. Regardless of the method, we must hear God’s insights, strategies, intel, and timing. Paul prayed for the church at Ephesus to have a spirit of wisdom and revelation (Ephesians 1:17-18). Revelation is needed and helpful in many situations, but is especially important in spiritual warfare. It is often the missing piece. Chuck Pierce and I were in Florida on the Fifty-State Tour when he interrupted my message. Something I said activated the prophetic anointing in him; he came to the platform and began prophesying. (I don’t know how he functions in meetings without me!) “There is a terrorist cell in Tampa,” he said in the course of his prophecy. He handed me the microphone with a do-something-about-it look. Almost as if he was saying, “I found it. Now you deal with it.” I did the only thing I knew to do - pray. I led, while those present joined with me in agreement. We decreed that the terrorists would be found. Two weeks later, a professor at a Tampa University was exposed and arrested as the leader of a group funding Islamic terrorists.1 That is warring by interruption and revelation! In Matthew 16:18, Jesus speaks of building His church and warring by revelation. The context is that Peter has just received a powerful revelation of Jesus as the Messiah, the Son of God. Jesus commended him and said, “Upon this rock I will build My church.” The Amplified Bible makes it clear that Jesus was talking about spiritual warfare; and that Christ was not saying He would build His church on Peter, but upon “the rock” of revelation that He is the Messiah. “I tell you, you are Peter [Petros, masculine, a large piece of rock], and on this rock [petra, feminine, a huge rock like Gibraltar] I will build My church, and the gates of Hades (the powers of the infernal region) shall not overpower it - or be strong to its detriment, or hold out against it.” Regarding “the gates of Hades,” I love Kenneth Wuest’s Translation, “the counsels of the unseen world shall not overpower it.” Jesus then made His famous promise of giving us the keys, or authority, with which to bind and loose in the invisible realm called “heavenly places.” Far too often we try to build the church and war against satan’s plans and counsels without revelation - the counsels of heaven. This is futile, and our lack of success in many areas is the fruit of it. God, however, has been restoring our understanding of the need for the prophetic anointing that brings discernment and revelation. This is changing everything. One of my favorite verses relating to the need for and power of revelation is 1 Chronicles 12:32: “Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their kinsmen were at their command (emphasis added).” Times in this verse is a Hebrew word meaning strategic or opportune times. (For those who enjoy word studies and know the Greek word kairos, this is the Hebrew equivalent eth.) These were men of revelation, and it was this revelation of the times that brought them knowledge of what to do. We must realize that 1 Chronicles 12 is a passage about war. Verse 32 is often referenced, but this point is usually overlooked. Verse 1 introduces the upcoming list of David’s mighty men with the statement, “they were among the mighty men who helped him at war.” At the chapter’s conclusion, we’re again reminded that all these men were warriors (v 38). Please don’t miss the significance of this. Their prophetic anointing - the ability to understand the times, which brought knowledge of what to do - had to do with war. This is instructional: For us to be effective in our spiritual war, we too, must have an ability to discern the times. And like these men of old, from that revelation we can receive strategy. This Hebrew word for “understanding” the times is also significant. The word doesn’t refer to just a learned, intellectual knowledge or wisdom; it is prophetic revelation or discernment - a spiritually imparted knowledge. Several other passages where the same word is used will confirm this: In 1 Kings 3:9, Solomon asked God for an ability to “discern.” In Daniel 1:17 and 20, Daniel was given this kind of “understanding” to interpret visions and dreams. In 8:15-16, Daniel asked for “understanding” to interpret a vision. In 9:22, Daniel was given “instruction” and “insight with understanding” by an angel. (I find the phrase “insight with understanding” fascinating. I equate it to the “wisdom and revelation” of Ephesians 1:17.) In Daniel 10:1, Daniel received “understanding” to interpret a vision from God. And in Proverbs 3:5, God says, “Do not lean on your own ‘understanding.’” The last verse, The last verse, Proverbs 3:5, makes much more sense when understood in this light of prophetic revelation. God is not saying we should abandon wisdom or common sense. He is telling us not to rely only on our own human discernment of what to do. “Receive revelation from Me,” He is saying. Again, placing this understanding into the context of war (1 Chronicles 12: 32) makes it especially significant. If we are to know what to do to overcome in spiritual warfare, we must receive spiritual revelation. Whether fighting a “good fight of faith” personally (1 Timothy 6:12), “wrestling” with principalities and powers over communities or nations (Ephesians 6:12), or “pulling down strongholds” in an individual’s life (2 Corinthians 10:3-5), Holy Spirit knows how the victory of Christ must be applied. That may be through repentance, forgiveness toward someone, fasting, binding and loosing, decreeing the Word, prolonged intercession, or other methods. The key is to listen for His strategy, then do it. When I needed healing from 45 warts on my hands, Holy Spirit’s strategy was for me to speak (or decree) the Word over my hands until the warts disappeared (Mark 11:23-24). This took 30 days. When praying for a young girl who had been in a coma for 18 months, His strategy was for me to pray over her an hour every week until her brain was healed. This took a year. When praying for the healing and salvation of nations, numerous things are often required: unity in the church, much agreement in prayer, repentance and cleansing from national sins, fasting, and more. Only Holy Spirit knows what needs to happen for breakthrough to occur in situations. We must hear His instruction and obey. This is the key to winning spiritual war. Pray with me: Father, Your word tells us You always give us victory, that we always triumph in Christ (2 Corinthians 2:14). We believe Jesus completely dealt with satan’s ability to steal, kill, and destroy us, and that He came to give us abundant life (John 10:10). You sent Holy Spirit to be our Teacher, Guide and Helper. We believe He is always willing to give us the revelation we need in order to succeed. If we do as You instructed Joshua, meditating in Your Word and listening for Your instruction, we will prosper and have great success (Joshua 1:8). So we ask You for the spirit of wisdom and revelation (Ephesians 1:17-18). We ask You for the same anointing Issachar was given with which to discern the times and know what to do (1 Chronicles 12:32). We do not lean to our understanding in spiritual matters, but rather we acknowledge and listen to You (Proverbs 3:5-6). Give those who need breakthrough at a personal level the understanding they need. And give us the understanding we need at the corporate level to break through for our nation. We know this is happening, and we believe it will continue. In Christ’s name we pray, amen. Our decree: We decree that we have ears to hear what Holy Spirit is saying to us, the church. We will listen, hear, and obey. _________________________________ http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/South/02/20/professor.arrest/ Portions of today’s post were taken from my book, Authority in Prayer. The Healing of “Old Glory” I have been to Cape Henry several times. I am always moved knowing I am at the general location where Robert Hunt and his friends planted a cross on the beach and prophesied the destiny of America: taking the gospel of the Kingdom to all nations. While there with a small team four years ago, we held the American flag and Appeal to Heaven flag together, intertwined, and appealed for the reopening of that covenant well. Our prophetic act pictured the prayers of the Church restoring our nation. Our friend Gina Gholston saw a picture of this in a vision. She shares: “On June 29, 2008, the Lord spoke a word to our nation through Ms. Billye Brim saying, ‘ONE THING will save America, and it is NOT an election; It is an AWAKENING TO GOD!’ “Yes, we absolutely need to vote, and yes, we must pray for the elections and that godly men and women will be seated in leadership. For ‘when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bear rule, the people mourn’ (Proverbs 29:2). So, yes, these are things that we must do, but we must not neglect and lose sight of the MOST IMPORTANT thing! “Our nation is sliding down the slippery slope of godlessness. Darkness is covering the earth, and people are famished for light. People MUST know Jesus! To know Him, they MUST see Him! Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 4 that Christ is the Light, and through salvation, God has put that Light inside us so that those who are in the world, blinded by the god of this world, will see the Light and come to know Christ for themselves. “An election can’t save us as individuals, and it won’t be what saves America. There must be a change in the hearts of mankind, and that will ONLY happen when we have a sweeping, undeniable awakening to an awareness of the reality of God and of His Christ. “God says to the Church, and He says to America, ‘Return to Me . . . and I will return to you’ (Zechariah 1:3). As we, the Church, the Bride of Christ, stir ourselves and return to Him with our whole hearts, our eyes will behold Him. In the beauty and splendor of His glory, we will encounter Him, hear Him, and be drawn to Him alone. Not only will those encounters impact us, but His Light will shine through us, and those in darkness will see Him. It will be as it was on Mount Carmel when Elijah released fervent, faith-filled prayers and decrees releasing the demonstration of the power and glory of God. ‘When all the people saw [the demonstrated glory and power of God], they fell on their faces; and they said, “The Lord, He is God; the Lord, He is God’” (1 Kings 18:39; AMP)! That’s an awakening . . . and that is what will CHANGE EVERYTHING! “I once had a vision in which I saw the American flag being wadded up in someone’s hands. Then it was spread back out, but it was all wrinkled and limp. And then the flag started to bleed, becoming saturated with blue and red stains that completely covered over the Stars and Stripes. Still very wrinkled, it looked as if the flag would fall apart. It was extremely damaged. “Then I saw an Appeal to Heaven flag floating down, and it laid over the top of that limp American flag, completely covering it. The Appeal to Heaven flag not only covered the American flag, but went down into it until the Stars and Stripes began to be seen again. The American flag then began to re-emerge, revived and re-formed. Though it was still a flag, it was now solid steel. And the Appeal to Heaven flag was not separate from it, but was now part of the American flag. Still appearing as the American flag, the two had been forged together into one solid piece. The Appeal to Heaven flag had solidified the American flag. “I heard the Lord say, ‘This is what I Am forging! I Am forging the two together—the Church and the nation. This will strengthen the nation again, and America will revive, heal, rise, and re-form as the nation I birthed it to be.’ “Our roots as a nation are not planted in our flawed history. Our roots are in Almighty God, for it was He Who birthed America to be a radiant light of His love and power to the world. The wrinkles of a not-so-perfect history and a not-so-perfect present may cause some to believe that the prophetic destiny of America is weak and forever lost, but America shall be saved! Her righteous history and destiny will be restored. “The Church has been awakened—perhaps not yet as a whole, but at least in part. There is a remnant, which has been aroused from slumber, and we have remembered our God and our godly heritage. There has been stirred within us a vicious passion for God’s Kingdom purposes. We see the distress that we are in. We do not deny or turn a blind eye to the rampant evil in our world. Still, we know that an awakening IS coming—and we hear the alarm clock sounding! It is the voice of the Lord echoing through time, ‘If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land’ (2 Chronicles 7:14). “We must not be given to despair. We must be given to fervent prayer, and as we pray, God will do what He has promised; He will heal our land! Our sincere return to God, and our fervent, righteous prayers will be a force that strengthens the nation. “God has awakened the watchmen. He has called us to take our place on the wall of this nation and be His mouthpiece, releasing His Word with His authority, to set necessary things into motion. We must prepare. We must lean heavily on Holy Spirit and allow Him to impart to us God’s well-timed wisdom for the days ahead. It’s a clarion call, a call to action! God has instructed His governing body to release decrees that enforce His verdict: ‘America shall be saved!’ Do so with confidence. Pray with me: Father, we come boldly into Your presence, and we acknowledge and decree that You, alone, are God. America is one nation under You, our God. Though the prophetic purposes of our nation seem to be fading into the shadows of an ungodly culture, Your eyes have searched and found within Your Ekklesia hearts that are completely Yours. We ask that through us, You will now show Yourself strong. Do so with demonstrations of Your love and might provoking an undeniable awakening to You in the Church and nation. We declare that Your original intentions for America are now rising from the shadows to shine once again. You are not late. Your promises for this nation have not been forgotten nor forsaken. Your determined verdict has been made, and cannot be overruled. So, we draw near to You, and You will draw near to us. In Your abiding presence, awakening will come, and You WILL heal our land! In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen! Our decree: Awakening to God has come and is coming, and America shall be saved! She will once again rise as the nation God birthed her to be. A Thanksgiving Prayer The event that Americans commonly call Thanksgiving was celebrated by the pilgrims after their first harvest in 1621. History says it was attended by 90 Native Americans and 53 Pilgrims. The gathering lasted 3 days. Our first President, George Washington, issued a proclamation of Thanksgiving in 1789, after which it was celebrated intermittently. Abraham Lincoln issued one, as well, in 1863 and made it a national holiday. He called it “Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens.” Washington’s and Lincoln’s proclamations are brilliant and can be found at the end of today’s post. The verbiage is a bit different than ours today and somewhat challenging, especially for children. Here is a contemporary proclamation I have written. Agree with me as I read it today: Gracious Father, we in this blessed nation give You thanks today. America was Your idea. You had in Your heart to form a nation of nations - numerous Native American nations, Asians, Europeans, Africans, Latinos and more. Though the journey and process has at times been painful, even evil, due to our selfishness and rebellion, Your sovereign power overrode our flaws and formed the United States of America. And we thank You. We are well aware that forming America was not just for our benefit but, like Abraham of old, was a covenantal partnership for the purpose of redeeming the world from sin and its curse. We are honored beyond words to be part of this plan and agree with the words of Robert Hunt at Cape Henry in 1607: the gospel of the kingdom will go forth from these shores, not only to this land, but to all the nations of the earth. We thank You for preserving us in times of war, disease, sin, and chaos. In the war of our birth, we were saved through an appeal to Heaven; in the horrible Civil War, You preserved us through incredible bitterness and the loss of over half a million soldiers - sons, husbands, fathers, brothers; in two world wars, You preserved us from evil, demonized despots intent on ruling the world. Through all the trials and all the years, You have been faithful. We thank You for the incredible prosperity we have enjoyed due to our partnership with You. Though some try to convince our people You had nothing to do with this, that America does not need Your gracious hand of blessing, we know this is untrue. Unless You build the house, the laborers work in vain; unless You protect the city, the watchman wakes in vain. You have blessed this nation - of You, through You, and to You are all things. Thank You, gracious and beneficent God! And we thank You today for our Savior, the Messiah, Christ Jesus. Son of God/Son of Man, thank You for Your sacrifice in becoming a member of the human race. Thank You for discovering what hunger feels like, for experiencing the pain of a loved one’s death, of rejection and betrayal. Thank You for walking dusty roads to heal diseased bodies, taking detours to redeem thirsty hearts, spending sleepless nights praying over Your assignment. Thank you for exposing the futility of religion, the evil of pride and the power of love. Thank You for revealing the Father to us again, and making a way for us to find and reconnect with Him as our Abba. Thank You for paying such a high price for this: the beatings and lashing, Gethsemane, the mocking, the crown of thorns, the wrath of Hell, the hideous cross. Thank You. And gracious Father, wonderful Savior, and blessed Holy Spirit, though we as a nation have dishonored You, rejected You and mocked You, Your love endures. Though we have worshiped idols, embraced false religions, shed innocent blood, defiled Your marriage covenant and expelled You from our schools, causing our children to reject You, Your mercies endure. Though our government, in pride, deception, and rebellion, has risen up against You, rewritten Your laws, legislated murder and immorality, and has determined that You are no longer welcome in their functions and procedures - You have demonstrated amazing patience. And though the church should be Your instrument of preservation from these ills, she has grown lukewarm, complacent, and ineffective. Yet, in spite of these and many more evils, You have said You are coming to save us again. You have promised to renew our purpose and destiny, healing our brokenness and returning our hearts to You and one another. Our prodigals are coming home, a lost generation is being found by You, the fire of passion is returning to the church, millions will be saved, and America will be reformed. We will once again become a powerful voice of the gospel of the kingdom throughout the earth, partnering with You through the power of Holy Spirit. For this we give You thanks. Father, we are thankful for the United States of America. We are thankful for the covenants our Christian forefathers made with You. They sacrificed more than we can ever imagine in order to fulfill Your will in their generation. They knew they were sent here to dedicate this land to You and Your divine purposes. Therefore, we thank You, Lord, for those sacrifices made so long ago. May those that prayed, endured much hardship, fought, and established America be forever honored by future generations of believers. We are so grateful for the blessings of the covenants that were established with You in those days. May every believer today remember to thank You for those covenants. Your promises are eternal. We may break them, but You never do. You will always find a way to partner with Your Ekklesia to see them restored, when we humble ourselves in prayer before You. For that mercy extended to us time and again, and so many other things, we thank You. Provide our leaders with the grace they need to lead this great country. Provide mercy for America to maintain our covenants with You. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen. President George Washington’s Thanksgiving Proclamation: “Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor-- and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public Thanksgiving and Prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness. “Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be - That we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks--for His kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation--for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of His Providence which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war--for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed - for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted - for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which He hath been pleased to confer upon us. “And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him to pardon our national and other transgressions - to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually - to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed - to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shown kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord - To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us - and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best. “Given under my hand at the City of New York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.” (George Washington)(1) President Lincoln’s Thanksgiving Proclamation: “The year that is drawing towards its close, has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added, which are of so extraordinary a nature, that they cannot fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever-watchful providence of Almighty God. In the midst of a civil war of unequaled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign States to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere except in the theatre of military conflict; while that theatre has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union. Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the fields of peaceful industry to the national defense, have not arrested the plough, the shuttle, or the ship; the axe has enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than heretofore. The population has steadily increased, notwithstanding the waste that has been made in the camp, the siege, and the battlefield; and the country, rejoicing in the consciousness of augmented strength and vigor, is permitted to expect continuance of years with large increase of freedom. No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy. It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently, and gratefully acknowledged as with one heart and one voice by the whole American People. I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to His tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquillity, and union. “In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the United States to be affixed. “Done at the City of Washington, this Third day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, and of the Independence of the United States the Eighty-eighth. By the President: Abraham Lincoln.”(2) Today’s decree: We acknowledge God alone as the source of all good gifts, including the freedoms and prosperity that thrive in the United States of America. One More Night with the Frogs I consider it an important responsibility to keep hope alive for America, thereby keeping motivation strong to pray and work for change. Anyone who follows me, even occasionally, knows I believe America will be saved and her destiny restored. They also know I believe a great awakening is beginning that will be the game-changer for all of this. It is vital that we keep our mind on His promises, our focus on the finish line, and our eyes on the prize. Faith, however, does not require us to live in denial of facts or reality. It simply denies the right of any present reality which contradicts God’s Word and will to continue existing. AND, biblical faith perseveres until this occurs. With this understanding, it is not a contradiction of faith to point out the needs, problems, shortcomings, etc., our nation is facing. Nor is it a contradiction of faith to assess where we are in the process of restoration. On the contrary, this helps us understand how to pray effectively and accurately. With this in mind, I want to give some analysis of where America is in the process. We have seen progress in America’s journey back toward our roots, truth, common sense, and wholeness. Conservatives now have a majority on the Supreme Court; we have seen the reversal of the evilest ruling our nation has ever enacted, Roe versus Wade; our education system has now been exposed as the indoctrination agency it is; parents have been awakened and are making a stand; evil in our government, including hypocrisy, dishonesty, greed, and antichrist ideologies, continues to be exposed; the media is no longer trusted; conservatives took back the House; entire states are turning to conservatism; and most of all, the Ekklesia is growing, “appeals to heaven” are multiplying. Now, for some of the “not so encouraging” reality I alluded to earlier. Election cycles are obviously very good indicators of where we are as a nation. Millions of Americans, knowing the left is making a horrible mess of many things, nevertheless voted for them again. Liberal agendas, government handouts, loan forgiveness promises, the enabling of rebellion, woke lies, love of self over babies (abortion), party loyalty, and more, were too enticing. Even though over 70% of Americans said they were unhappy with or concerned about the direction of our nation,(1) many of them nevertheless decided to roll the dice in hopes that their leftist ideals could continue without totally destroying us. The pain and discomfort was not quite strong enough. Those who voted for this cannot feign ignorance. They know the left is mutilating children in the name of transgenderism. They know sexual perverts are dancing for kindergartners in attempts to seduce them into homosexuality and amoral lifestyles. They know parents are persecuted for objecting to this. They know it is stupid to shut down the production of our natural energy resources, while begging our enemies to supply us with the same. They know crime is on the rise while the prosecution of criminals is decreasing. They know police and our border patrol officers work hard, sacrifice, do a great job, and yet are lied about and persecuted. They know our government botched the Covid pandemic immeasurably, resulting in the deaths of thousands of people, devastating consequences to our children, losses of livelihoods, and trillions of dollars of damage to our economy. They know our federal government cannot be trusted, our schools are failing, our economy is weak, our military is unprepared, our media is dishonest, and the nation, once respected more than any other, is now a laughingstock. They know our borders are not secure and that this is suicidal, even though Biden’s administration continues to lie, stating otherwise. Five million illegals have come into America in two years. According to Brandon Judd, National Border Patrol Council President, there have been a million “gottaways” since Biden took office. Regarding these individuals, we have no idea of their past, their affiliations, or their intentions. Without question, Americans will die from their terrorism, gang activities, murders, and drugs. Humans will be trafficked, women will be raped. Ninety-six percent (96%) of fentanyl comes through our southern border, killing a hundred thousand Americans every year.(2) Do not kid yourself; these deaths and the potential future terrorism from a million “gottaways” are merely the price required to gain future votes for the Left. Collateral damage. The price of power. This is beyond despicable; it is heinous and betrays shocking levels of callousness, indecency, and selfish ambition. Every person on the left knows it is happening, including those in Congress, but is willing to accept it for the votes. In the 2020 and 2022 elections, Americans were offered more relief from the ravages of leftism. Many voted for this change, but many others chose instead to trust those with antichrist, immoral, socialistic, and leftist ideologies, hoping that somehow the fruit of this would not continue to destroy us. It is an indication of just how successful the indoctrination of two generations of Americans has been. Perhaps the scariest fact of all is that they actually believe much of the lunacy of the left. And their leaders exploit this to stay in power. Even some Christian leaders jumped on the Woke Train. Now it’s time to pay the piper. After millions of Amerians acknowledged concern for America’s direction, their request for more of the same reminds me of the story of Moses and Pharaoh in Exodus chapter 8. One of the plagues God released against Egypt to judge Pharaoh’s wickedness was an infestation of frogs (Exodus 8:1-15). “The Nile will swarm with frogs, which will come up and go into your house and into your bedroom and on your bed, and into the houses of your servants and on your people, and into your ovens and into your kneading bowls,” (verse 3). After this occurred, Pharaoh summoned Moses and said, “Please ask the Lord to remove these frogs from me and my people, and I will let you go and sacrifice to the Lord,” (verse 8). Moses’ response seems strange. “I will give you, Pharaoh, the honor of choosing when I do this. When shall I ask the Lord to do this?” “Tomorrow,” Pharaoh replied. “Not right now. Give us one more night with the frogs.” On November 8, 2022, millions of Americans said, “Give us two more years with the frogs. Two more years of inflation. Two more years of drug infestation and human trafficking. Two more years of shortages, two more years of violence. Two more years of an inept and lying government. Two more years of emboldening China and Russia...one more term with the frogs. Americans will receive what they asked for. I have been saying for quite some time, “It is going to get worse before it gets better. The shaking will continue.” And so it shall. Does this mean we will not see revival? The saving of America? Absolutely not. The unfortunate reaping is actually a part of the saving of America. It’s our wake-up call. God must bring this nation to its knees, and He is doing so, simply by turning us over to ourselves. The next two years will see two simultaneous build-ups. 1) Difficulties - the shaking - will increase, and 2) The outpouring of Holy Spirit will continue to build momentum and strength. Many woke Christians will wake up, numerous Americans will say, “Enough!” Perhaps we will reach a significant enough desperation before the two years are completed. God certainly does not need to wait until the next election to bring about some changes, and certainly not to pour out His Spirit. In fact, those who are ready can and will begin experiencing it now. Be encouraged that our prayers are working, Church. If not for the prayers of a remnant, America would not survive. God is using our prayers to expose evil, release mercy, and save this nation. We are writing history; it will be said of us, “A generation arose that refused to take ‘no’ for an answer. They persevered in prayer and faith, refused to waver, and pulled a nation out of destruction and death.” Pray with me: Father, we know that sin has wages and seeds bear fruit. You are not mocked. Your ways and laws cannot be annulled; what we sow, we will reap. America has sown much rebellion and evil, and we are now reaping the fruit of this. And yet, we also know You are a God of mercy. You delight in mercy, Your mercy is new every day, and You said it triumphs over judgment. You love to redeem, and the blood of Jesus cleanses from all sin. Just as occurred with the prodigal in the pigpen, the nation of Israel several times, and America in our history, You will use our difficulties to awaken us to our condition and need. We believe that in Your mercy, You will cause this awakening to occur before it is too late; what You have spoken over us will be fulfilled: America shall be saved. We anchor our faith to this. We will not waver; we will not falter. And we will press into the outpouring of Your Spirit even now, during the challenging times in our nation. For those who will receive it, revival is here. And Father, no matter how difficult the shaking becomes, we know You will care for Your children. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen. Our decree: We decree that the shaking WILL bring needed cleansing to America, but also that the difficult days ahead will NOT shake our faith or diminish our praying. We will walk in joy, strength, and the blessing of heaven. The Current Assault Against Biblical Marriage Sixty-plus years of the church’s refusal to involve itself in government and culture, coupled with the indoctrination of two generations of Americans by a godless, leftist education system, is taking its toll. America’s biggest internal battles now center around life, gender, marriage, and family, all established by God in the very first chapter of Genesis. The battle for America’s soul has made its way back to the absolute basics of existence. Babies are killed up to and even after birth, and their body parts are sold; many Americans don’t know the difference between a man and a woman, including Supreme Court Justices, Presidents, and members of Congress; small children’s bodies are permanently mutilated and altered to satisfy the mindless fantasies of a few; and our government has redefined marriage. Depravity must be reached in order for these things to occur, which then lends itself to insanity. Another attempt is being made to defile God’s holy marriage covenant. Intercessors For America board member Cynthia Dunbar frames the proposed law for us biblically: “No matter what anyone may think or say, marriage is not a legislatively defined institution, nor can it be. Rather, we know through the spoken words of Jesus that since the beginning of creation, God made us male and female: for this reason, a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two become one flesh. From the beginning, we were created in the image of God — male and female, with the goal of oneness and unity. Therefore, this cultural attempt to redefine marriage is not simply an attempt to redefine an institution, it is an assault on the very image of God. It is the pinnacle of religious discrimination for Congress to curtail in any way the espousing of convictions that reaffirm this biblical truth.”(1) Mary Margaret Olohan from The Daily Signal wrote [11/16/2022]: “The United States Senate voted Wednesday to advance the so-called Respect for Marriage Act. “HR 8404, which passed the House of Representatives in July, ‘provides statutory authority for same-sex and interracial marriages,’ repealing provisions that define marriage as between a man and a woman. “The legislation also ‘repeals and replaces provisions that do not require states to recognize same-sex marriages from other states, allows ‘the Department of Justice to bring a civil action,’ and ‘establishes a private right of action for violations.’ “Democratic advocates say the legislation promotes equality, but religious leaders strongly warned that it explicitly targets people of faith. “‘Make no mistake,’ Alliance Defending Freedom President Kristen Waggoner warned, ‘this bill will be used by officials and activists to punish and ruin those who do not share the government’s view on marriage.’ “Twelve Republicans voted in favor of advancing the legislation: Sens. Roy Blunt of Missouri, Richard Burr of North Carolina, Shelley Capito of West Virginia, Susan Collins of Maine, Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, Rob Portman of Ohio, Mitt Romney of Utah, Dan Sullivan of Alaska, Thom Tillis of North Carolina, Joni Ernst of Iowa, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, and Todd Young of Indiana.” (2) How did 12 Republicans in the Senate betray our religious freedoms and God’s Word at this level? Roger Severino of The Daily Signal asks the same question: “How did Senate liberals convince 12 Republicans to break ranks and endorse a same-sex marriage bill that puts a giant target on people of faith? “It took help from (some) people and organizations of faith, such as the National Association of Evangelicals and, most surprisingly, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which gave defecting senators enough political cover to vote against the interests of the people who put them in office. “I won’t speculate as to why some of the faith voices who were once staunchly opposed to recognizing same-sex marriage have flipped on the issue. But flipped they have.” Severino continues: “Although the bill may provide some explicitly religious nonprofits additional clarity outside of the house-of-worship context, few if any religious social service organizations would benefit, including adoption agencies and marriage counseling organizations. That’s because they don’t have anything at all to do with wedding solemnization itself (the only thing ostensibly protected by the bill). “This explains why controversies and lawsuits over same-sex marriage celebrations have focused on bakers, photographers, web designers, printers, meeting halls, bed and breakfasts, and florists—with decidedly mixed success for people of faith. “These documented and repeated examples of people of faith being harassed and driven out of business today over forced same-sex marriage celebrations get no protection at all under the Democrats’ bill. “Christians, Muslims, and Jews with sincere, historic, reasonable (and true) beliefs about human sexual morality and identity have been under accelerated attack by activists and government ever since the Supreme Court’s 2015 ruling in Obergefell, despite assurances by same-sex marriage advocates that a ‘live and let live’ world would follow that decision. “The proposed Respect for Marriage Act would supercharge these attacks. The gestures toward religious liberty in the most recent version of the bill do not change this fact.”(3) Here’s what others have said about this law: “The Religious Freedom Institute said the bill would threaten the ‘tax-exempt status of religious organizations that hold to their convictions about marriage as the union of husband and wife.’ “Tom Farr, the group’s president, said in a statement that ‘this law would intentionally subject millions of religious Americans, and the tens of thousands of religious institutions they represent, to ruinous lawsuits in federal courts.’ In a mass email, Family Research Council president Tony Perkins said the religious liberty protections added to the bill are insufficient. “‘The measure goes much further than proponents claim of “status quo” on marriage,’ Mr. Perkins said. ‘Despite claims that religious liberty threats have been addressed, the measure will be a green light to LGBTQ activists to continue their witch hunts against Christian business owners under the guise of the “law.” It supercharges these attacks on religious freedom by creating a ‘right of private action,’ arming any private activist with the ability to bring harassing lawsuits that could take years and hundreds of thousands of dollars to settle.’”(4) The Senate vote last week was not final. It will be voted on again on November 28, and it must receive 60 votes. This means that if at least 3 of the 12 Republicans change their minds, the law can be stopped. After this vote, it goes back to the House to be voted on again with the Senate’s changes. As believers, we MUST speak up for the protection of traditional biblical marriage and religious freedom. Please pray and contact your Congressmen and Senators, telling them you are opposed to this legislation. Click this link, and it will take you to Intercessors For America’s Take Action page. There is a sample letter you can use and even send it directly from their website. Or, for those of you listening today, go to IFAPray.org and click on their ACTION tab. It will take you to where you need to go. Don’t put this off. Let’s ALL do this today. Pray with me: Father, we have no one to blame but ourselves for the abominable laws and actions taking place in America. We have failed to stand for truth and are paying a huge price. However, as we have done many times, we thank You for Your incredible grace and mercy. Your mercy, extended through the sacrifice of Jesus, is the only currency we have with which to purchase forgiveness and cleansing. We ask You for this now and plead the blood of Jesus over this nation. Forgive us, cleanse us, and restore us. We ask You to move on the hearts and minds of enough Senators to stop this abominable law from passing. Motivate believers to pray and contact their Representatives and Senators. Help us stop this. And we will never waver in our prayer and faith that You are sending a powerful revival to America that will reawaken our corporate conscience. Ultimately, this is our only hope. With confidence in Your Word, we appeal for this. In Yeshua’s name. Amen. Our decree: We declare that we will stand for the Word and ways of God, regardless of the opposition or cost. Representing Christ On the heels of this past Friday’s interview with Jane Hamon, I felt we needed to look again at what it means to be the Church, Christ’s Ekklesia. There is so much misunderstanding of this, and never have we needed clearer teaching on the subject. The church is mentioned for the first time in Matthew 16:18-19: “I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock, I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven, and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven.” When Jesus used the word “church” (Greek: ekklesia), the disciples weren’t hindered by our contemporary preconceived ideas as to what it meant. Their paradigm of an ekklesia differed greatly from what it has become. To us today it can mean (1) a worship service; (2) a building used by Christians; (3) a local congregation of Christians; or (4) for those who tend toward a more literal definition, it means a people who have been “called out” from the world. The last concept is the most accurate, according to a strict translation, but it still falls far short of communicating what an ekklesia was when Christ made His stunning announcement. To the Greeks in Christ’s day, an ekklesia was an assembly of people authorized to govern the affairs of a city, state, or nation - in essence, a city council, a parliament, a congress, etc. To the Romans, it was a governing body sent into a conquered region, not only to govern, but to alter the culture until it became like Rome. The Romans realized this was the ideal way to control their empire - discipling conquered regions until the people lost their previous identity and began to think of themselves as Romans. They accomplished this through government, social structure, language, schools, etc. When Jesus said He would build His church, without question, He was speaking of a body of people who would exercise spiritual authority and disciple nations for Him, extending His Kingdom rule on the earth. They would bind demonic forces and loose individuals from their control. Their extension of Christ’s Kingdom authority would be through Holy Spirit empowerment of the gospel, and by teaching and demonstrating the principles of His Kingdom. In ancient times, the city gates were often where an Ekklesia met and, therefore, symbolized government. Jesus’ statement that “the gates of Hades will not overpower His ekklesia” makes much more sense when we understand He was speaking about two governments. The “gates” Christ spoke of were obviously not physical, but rather referred to the authority, plans, and schemes of hell. These things would not prevail over us. In World Vision magazine, John Robb writes: Several years ago, a giant tree stood on the banks of the Awash River, in an arid valley about two hours’ drive southeast of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It had stood there for generations, seemingly eternal. For years, the people who lived in the surrounding district had suffered through famines . . . In their suffering, the people looked to the tree for help. Believing a spirit gave it divine powers, they worshipped the towering giant. Adults would kiss the great trunk when they passed by, and they spoke of the tree in hushed, reverential tones. Children said, “This tree saved us.” In 1989, World Vision began a development project there, including an irrigation system . . . But even as they labored to build the system, the great tree stood like a forbidding sentinel of the old order, presiding over the community, enslaving the people through fear. Spirits needed to be propitiated with animal sacrifices and strict observance of taboos. When World Vision workers saw how the villagers worshipped the tree, they knew it was an idolatrous barrier to the entrance of God’s Kingdom and the transformation of the community. One morning as the staff prayed together, one of Jesus’ promises struck them: “If you have faith, you can say to this tree, ‘Be taken up and removed’ . . . and it will obey you.” In faith, they began to pray that God would bring down the menacing Goliath. Soon the whole community knew the Christians were praying about the tree. Six months later, the tree began to dry up, its leafy foliage disappeared, and finally, it collapsed like a stricken giant into the river. The people of the community were astonished, proclaiming, “Your God has done this! Your God has dried up the tree!” In the days and weeks afterward, approximately 100 members of the community received Jesus Christ as Savior because they saw His power displayed in answer to the Christians’ prayers. What a wonderful story! This is the Ekklesia in action. Why aren’t stories such as this more common? How have we missed this truth? If I were satan and wanted to stop evangelism, the spread of biblical morality, or the rule of God on the earth, I would try to deceive Christians regarding the meaning of being Christ’s ekklesia. My number one priority would be to keep the church from truly being the church, representing Christ’s authority on the earth. While we certainly are not to spread our faith or God’s rule on earth by physical force or control, as some religions teach, we MUST use this authority when dealing with the spiritual forces of darkness. Bind and loose spiritual forces of darkness; love, serve, and disciple people. That is the assignment of the church. Pray with me: Jesus, You said You would build a church the gates of hell could not overcome. You gave us your authority as the King of the kingdom - authority to bind and loose, forbid and allow. Awaken the church to these “keys.” Give us greater revelations of Your authority, and that You delegated this authority to us. Remind us that the church is not a building or an organization. It is not a worship service. Being the church is to function as Your authority on the earth. As we move in higher levels of this calling, we ask for an increased manifestation of signs and wonders, healings, and deliverances. May we truly preach the gospel of the Kingdom, which includes Your dominion over demons, disease, oppression, and sin. We know earth’s greatest revival is now coming, and we know it will be infused with Your love and power. We ask for this release of Your life. We also ask for greater wisdom to disciple nations. Give us greater insight and revelation in this regard. Show us how to take the principles of your Kingdom and introduce them in a world where hate, deception, and sin rule. This will take great wisdom and revelation, but You said You would equip us to accomplish this task. So we ask for an abundance of understanding to now come to the church in this regard, and ask in Christ’s name, amen. Decree: We decree that Christ is building a church that the government, plans, and schemes of hell will not prevail against. Portions of today’s post were taken from my book Authority in Prayer. The Reversal of Evil Decrees Hello and thank you for joining me today for Give Him 15. We are excited about today's post because we have a very special guest and friend with us today. Jane Hamon is the wife of the incomparable Tom Hamon, and daughter-in-law of Dr. Bill Hamon, the person whom I consider to be the patriarch - the father - of the modern day prophetic movement. I love this family dearly - we go back a long time. We run together, pray together, work together, and it's just a real honor to have Jane on with us today. There will be a link provided for you at the end of today's post so you can check out their website and what they do. There are many wonderful books they've written that will help instruct you on the prophetic and interpreting dreams, etc. For these GH15 interviews, I don't tell these prophetic friends of mine what to do, what to say, or where to go. I just want to know what they're hearing from the Lord that is a current word for the church or the nation. I want them to share what we need to hear from the Lord, perhaps where we need to go, or what strategy God may be bringing to us. I'm just gonna flip it to Jane now and let her take it from here. Jane, thank you for joining us today. What are you hearing Holy Spirit saying to us? Jane begins to share: “Thanks, Dutch, it's always a pleasure and an honor to be with you. I love the Give Him 15s. I think they're absolutely revolutionizing the church world today and discipling nations by the messages that you're bringing on a consistent basis. I'm really excited to be here with you because I have a message that I think the Lord has put on my heart for this season. “On June 15th of this year (2022), I was out on a ministry trip and rolled over in bed in the middle of the night. As Dutch knows, I have a lot of dreams. I don't know if this was a dream or exactly what it was, but as soon as I was awakened, I heard the spirit of the Lord say, “Tell the body of Christ that it's time for the hanging of Haman's ten sons.” I got up and wrote it down. I really had no idea what that fully means, but I know that it is a time of demarcation in the body of Christ. Of course, this refers to the book of Esther and a time when God was releasing His judgment and His justice into a land. An evil, wicked man named Haman wrote an evil decree of death and destruction against God's people and he hated Mordecai. I think Mordecai is a representation of Holy Spirit, but Haman didn't count on the fact that Esther, who was a Jew and one of God's people, was queen. Just to dissuade you of any idea that the book of Esther is a Cinderella story about a young orphaned girl that marries a powerful King, that is not what the book of Esther is actually about. “Esther is about the modern day church. Esther is about the church that's rising up to answer a call, even the church that's rising up to say if I perish, I perish. It’s about a church rising up to realize that we've come to the Kingdom for such a time as this. It’s a church that understands we can go before the throne of the king and have a scepter of favor extended to us, and release decrees that actually shift a nation. I believe that this is the message God is putting upon the church today. There is an overturning of demonic decrees, an overturning of things that have been set in motion. “What Haman's decree did, is it designated a certain day that said wherever in the land you find a Jew, you can kill them, and you can take their property. In Esther chapter seven, we actually find that God exposed this plan, this plot, and also exposed how Haman was coming against the queen. In Esther chapter seven, the King ordered Haman's death. Actually, the way Haman was killed was the King ordered him to be hung on the gallows that Haman had prepared for Mordecai. I believe that we're in a season right now where God is giving the enemy enough rope to hang himself. “Back in January of 2021, we were praying about what was going on in our nation. I heard the Lord say something very simple. He said to tell the people I'm up to something. I had a feeling I wasn't going to really like the long process that was going to be involved, but God plays the long game. God is not always interested in the short run but He's interested in the long game. I firmly believe God is working on behalf of America and we're coming into this season when we're going to see a lot of the plans and schemes of the enemy boomerang back on his own head. “Let me read you the Scripture regarding Haman’s ten sons. It says in Esther 9:24, ‘Haman son of Hamadatha the Agagite, the arch enemy of all the Jews, had schemed to destroy all Jews. He cast the lot to throw them into panic and destroy them.’ Let me just say this to you: do not panic. God's up to something. Don't freak out - God is up to something. I'm telling you, He hears our prayers. He hears the decrees. God's ear is not deaf and His arm is not too short to save. It says that he tried to throw them into panic to destroy them, but when Queen Esther - the Ekklesia - intervened with the king, he gave written orders that the evil scheme Haman had worked out should boomerang back on his own head. Haman and his 10 sons were hanged on the gallows Haman had built for the Jews. That's why these days were called Purim. “Now listen: Purim, in the Hebraic Culture, is called the holiday of reversals. About seven years ago, the Lord started speaking to us. Dutch, I think it was 2015. You and I were both hearing from the Lord about it being a season of reversals. This is the seventh year of that. Seven is the number of completion, perfection, wholeness, finishing, and covenant. I believe that we are in a covenantal season of seeing some things reversed that God set in motion even seven years ago. I think it's amazing that God spoke this to me on June 15th and on June 24th, we saw the overturning of a decree of death and destruction with the overturning of Roe versus Wade. But here's the thing: in Esther 7, Haman was hung on the gallows, but in Esther 8, Esther's still coming before the king saying…you know, King, we need a reversal of this decree. You see, Haman was dead, but his decree wasn't dead yet. Roe versus Wade is dead, but abortion is still an issue in our nation. It's as much an issue now and for the midterm election as it ever has been. God is serious about dealing with the full effects of the decrees of Haman. I'm not saying that abortion is the only thing, but the enemy has set some things in motion. So, Esther came before the king and asked if he would overthrow Haman’s decree. The king's response to Esther was: You yourself write a new decree! That's the authority we've been given. Write it in the king's name, seal it with the king's signet ring. Whatever you write in the king's name cannot be revoked. Esther called Mordecai and they sat down and wrote a decree, as the king had asked. “I was studying this when I was in Atlanta where you and I were speaking at the Atlanta City Gate conference. The amazing thing is that I was studying this out a few days before, and it actually says on the 23rd day of Savon in the Hebrew month, Esther and Mordecai wrote this decree. I can't even tell you how many times I’ve read the book of Esther, but it just occurred to me that day…I wonder what day the 23rd day of Savon is on our Roman Calendar. I googled it and it was the very day I was studying - that exact day! I think it was June 21st - the exact day I was studying about this. It was as if God was drawing a giant exclamation point. I'm telling you this is for now. This is the NOW season of this word for the body of Christ. They wrote this decree that authorized the people of God to fight back against all the works of darkness that the enemy had been sending against them. I love what it says in the very last verse of Esther chapter 8. I want you to hear this because we are warring, we're contending, we're praying, we're decreeing, we're doing spiritual warfare for our nation, but the goal isn't just to war. The goal is to see awakening and revival, and souls saved into the harvest. “Look at this: on the 23rd day of Savon they wrote this decree. It was dispersed to the different parts of the land. In Esther 8:17 it says, ‘In each and every province and each and every city, wherever the king’s command and his decree arrived, the Jews celebrated with joy and gladness.’ They had a feast and a holiday celebrating these reversals. By the way, when we're in Christ, every single day is a day of reversal. The gospel message - start to finish - is a message of reversal. It is a message of seeing the curse turned into a blessing for us. It is a message of breaking. The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. We are breaking his authority off a people, off a land. But watch this - it says, ‘Many of the people in that land became Jews for the fear of the Jews and their God had fallen upon them.’ That is revival. Only the day before the Jews were afraid that they were about to be killed. Now the people were not wanting to kill them but to become one of them! Isn't that amazing! It was such an incredible turnaround. “Then in chapter nine we see this other turnaround that happened. All these governors, all the satraps, and all the leaders in the land were pretty much in league with Haman, but now he is dead. In Esther 9:1 it says, ‘On the very day that the enemies of the Jews hope to have power over them, the reverse occurred.’ Instead God's people now had power over those that hated them. “Let me say that in Esther 9, things broke out and it ended up being a lot of battling in the streets. Our battle is not with flesh and blood. Let me be clear about that: our battle is not with flesh and blood but it's against principalities and powers and rulers of darkness in high places. Our battle is a spiritual battle. But in the Book of Esther, they wiped out the enemy. In the midst of that, they took out Haman's ten sons. In that process, in verse 9 it says even all the officials, the provinces, the chief rulers, the governors, and those who attended to the king's business - all the government - turned and supported the Jews in defeating their enemies. This was because the fear of Mordecai and his God's power had fallen on them. I'm telling you we're going to see the fear of the Lord come upon our land. The fear of the Lord will come upon some of our government leaders. We're going to see some miraculous reversals in the coming days. Blinders are going to come off people's eyes and they're going to say…man we need to be on God's side…we need to be on the side of saving a nation…we need to be on the side of revival…we need to be on the side of turnaround. “Now let me just wrap this up by saying Haman's ten sons were also hung on the gallows. When I really study about Haman in the book of Esther, it says that he was an Agagite. Agag was the king of the Amalekite tribe. The Amalekites come from Esau; Esau and Jacob were always battling. But the interesting thing is that every time you see the Amalekites in Scripture, they're robbing from Israel, they're battling against Israel. It really goes to John 10:10 that says the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy but Jesus said I've come to give you life and life more abundantly. “The name Amalekite means plunderer. It is the robber, the thief - the thief of destinies, the thief of nations. I'm telling you, God is very serious right now about dealing with Haman and all 10 of his sons. Their names mean rebellion, apathy, complacency, witchcraft, fear, intimidation. I don't have time to go into all of that today, but I'm telling you God is very serious about dealing with the thief that comes to steal, kill, and destroy our individual lives but, also our families, our prosperity, our peace, our posterity, our legacy, and even the prophetic destiny of a nation. “Dutch, I believe we're coming into a very serious season of God overturning. It's going to be a little chaotic - kind of like it was in Esther 9, because people must make some decisions about how they're going to align. But I believe that we're coming into one of the greatest days of turnaround of our nation and the earth that we’ve ever seen.” Dutch shares: “Amazing and absolutely incredible. You know, sometimes when I listen to people like you and some of my other friends who get this amazing prophetic revelation, I remember (this is not very spiritual) a Batman movie where the Joker sees all these contraptions Batman has and asks, ‘Where does he get these toys?’ I think, Where do they get all this revelation! It's just an example to me of why we need the prophetic anointing. God can take the Scriptures, bring them into today, and show us what He's saying for us TODAY - like you've done here. And then, of course, it drives you to study and find out what these names mean and get the prophetic symbolism. It's just incredible and it's so encouraging. “I can't tell you how many people I've heard - at least four or five in the last few weeks - talking about boomerang and reversal. This is a great confirmation from Scripture of what God is about to do. Frankly, I had forgotten that Purim was a celebration - the holiday of reversal. But God's about to reverse things. We have to persevere. Our timing is not always God's timing but that's because He's doing so much more than just the one thing we are praying and believing for. God has the future in mind - He has the big picture in mind, millions of people in mind. He's always doing something more. “This is incredible. I'm sure our friends can probably hear the full message of this if they go to your website, you probably have something there. I know you have incredible books. I want you to go take a look at Jane's material because you will be blessed. “Before we go, Jane, just lead us in prayer regarding what you’ve shared today. Jane, this has been so powerful.” Jane begins to pray: “Father, we thank You for Your times and Your seasons. Lord, You see the end game. I thank You, Father, that You have put it on the heart of a company of people, an Ekklesia, to rise up during this season of time. We're going to take back everything the enemy has stolen. We're going to take back our kids. We're going to take back our grandkids. We're going to take back our destiny. We're going to take back our finances. We're going to take back peace and joy and vision. “But, Lord, we're going to take back our nation from the hands of the enemy. You're going to break the hold of the conspirators in the spirit - those things that have been sent against us (that’s what Haman’s 10 sons were). Lord we thank You that You're breaking the yoke. You're hanging them up and declaring this is the end of Haman's reign. We thank You, Father, that Jesus did this when He defeated principalities and powers. He held them captive and made an open show of them. Lord, I believe You're going to make an open show of the enemy and his plans. The schemes are going to boomerang back on his own head. “We decree: it's a boomerang season of revival, a boomerang season of reversals, and a boomerang season, Father, where we take back everything the robber has taken from us. I thank You, God, for eyes being open. And Lord, if anybody's discouraged, I'm telling you to begin to stir yourself up in the spirit, because God is saying: I'm up to something powerful. Powerful things are ahead. “So, Father, I bless every single listener, and thank You, God, that You're assembling an Esther Ekklesia in this season of time that's going to turn the world upside down. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.” Dutch ends by saying: “Amen, amen. I agree completely. Thank you so much for being with us today. I appreciate your family: Tom, Bishop. All of you do such wonderful work for the Lord. “Thank all of you for joining us today and I look forward to seeing you again on Monday. God bless you.” Click on the link below to watch the full video. You can find out more about Jane Hamon at TomAndJaneHamon.com.

Full Speed Ahead Last Friday, I received a call from a member of Congress who reads the Give Him 15 posts and wanted to encourage me. This person, without giving details, wanted me to know that having a slim margin in Congress will not be all bad. As contradictory as it seems, they emphasized that there are some necessary changes within Congress that will be easier to make with a slimmer margin than they would have been with a larger one. This person was obviously not talking about passing or stopping national laws, but regarding changes within Congress - or perhaps our Conservative leadership itself. They gave no further details regarding this. They also wanted me to know that there is a growing number in Congress who realize there is no hope for America without a great revival/awakening. The call was very encouraging. Slowly but surely, we are winning the war for the soul of America. Evil is being exposed, circumstances are getting more difficult adding to the desperation of Americans, but revival is coming. Critical mass is approaching. God is in control of the timing; our job is to persevere. Here are ten great quotes I found regarding perseverance: “It always seems impossible until it is done.” Nelson Mandela “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” Winston Churchill “A bend in the road is not the end of the road…unless you fail to make the turn.” Helen Keller “It’s always too soon to quit!” Norman Vincent Peale “The only guarantee for failure is to stop trying.” John C. Maxwell “Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other.” Walter Elliot “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” Thomas Edison “Failure is only the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.” Henry Ford “Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.” Pele “Fall seven times and stand up eight.” Japanese Proverb (1) One of my favorite biblical examples of perseverance is Eleazar, one of David’s mighty warriors. “He arose and struck the Philistines until his hand was weary and clung to the sword, and the Lord brought about a great victory that day,” (2 Samuel 23:10). What determination! In defending the nation of Israel, Eleazar fought past his weariness, and when he no longer possessed the physical strength needed to control his hand, he held onto the sword with his heart! When the battle was over, his comrades waded through the bodies and peeled Eleazar’s hand from his sword. I have found that perseverance truly is a heart issue. If our efforts don’t flow from a genuine passion originating from the heart, they will wither in the heat of battle. Betio Beach was a significant battle in WWII. It was imperative that America take this beach in the South Pacific. The odds against us doing so, however, were great. The results of the battle were horrific, and the hearts of our men were heroic. In his book Looking for America, Douglas Simpson states concerning our soldiers, “Never before in the history of warfare have men been asked to face such withering fire before them with only the cold sea behind to which to retreat.” (2) The Japanese, knowing the importance of this location, had hand-picked 6500 of their finest soldiers and placed them in fortified positions from which to defend the beach. When the battle began, it was terrible. Our men were cut in half by the firepower. Seventy-five of the 125 landing crafts were destroyed. The waters of the lagoon turned crimson; hundreds of bodies bobbed in the surf, with hundreds more littering the beach. The Marines suffered 3000 plus casualties but still kept attacking. Of those who reached the pier, many did so by walking on the submerged bodies of their fallen comrades! By the end of the second day, Colonel Shoup, commander of the Marine landing forces, radioed to headquarters, “Casualties many; percentage dead unknown; combat efficiency - we are winning.” Though the battle was costly, our Marines took the beach. Incredible commitment. Those of us who have determined to see America restored to her roots and destiny, which is linked to the great revival God has planned, must have hearts like Eleazar and these Marines. We do not war spiritually until we are tired; we war until we win. Our faith is not in an election, a person, or political party. Our faith is reliant upon what God says. That settles it for us. I was with Tom and Jane Hamon this past weekend in Nashville. Jane spoke a powerful word from the book of Esther. (On tomorrow’s post, we will play a recent interview with Jane where she talked about the same subject. You won’t want to miss it.) At the end of the interview, Jane said to me: “Dutch, I believe we're coming into a very serious season of God overturning. It's going to be a little chaotic - kind of like it was in Esther 9, because people must make some decisions about how they're going to align. But I believe that we're coming into one of the greatest days of turnaround for our nation and the earth.” Friends, keep your focus on the bigger picture and end goal. Keep your heart in tune with heaven. Keep your emotions in check. And keep your foot on the pedal. Pray with me: Father, we thank You for the victories we are seeing in our nation. Although the war for the spiritual soul of America is intense, we are winning. We ask that this would continue. Lord, continue to awaken people to our condition, the need to get involved, and the power of prayer. We pray that You will work into us hearts like Eleazar possessed. “Never quit” hearts. “Fight through weariness” hearts. “Cling to the sword” hearts. Our Betio Beach is spiritual, our weapons as well. We will continue to engage spiritually to empower the changes occurring in America. We will continue to war for the salvation of our sons and daughters. We will fight for their hearts. We will continue to decree the exposure of corruption and evil in our government, media, and educational system. We will continue to war for awakening in our churches and pulpits. We ask You for fire, holy fire. We ask for miraculous outbreaks of awakening. And we thank You for these things, in the mighty name of Jesus. Our decree: We declare that we are “never quit” warriors, holding fast to the word of the Lord. Portions of today’s post can be found in my book The Way Back. The Power of Hope “My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.”(1) These are the opening lines of the song, Solid Rock, written in 1834 by Edward Mote, a Baptist pastor from England. The well-known refrain states: “On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand.”(2) The refrain of this hymn is based on Matthew 7:24-27, which anyone who’s attended Sunday school will recognize as the parable of The Wise and the Foolish Builders. The passage says: “Anyone who hears these words of mine and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain poured down, the rivers flooded over, and the wind blew hard against that house. But it did not fall, because it was built on rock. But anyone who hears these words of mine and does not obey them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain poured down, the rivers flooded over, the wind blew hard against that house, and it fell. And what a terrible fall that was!” (GNT) Most of the words of this song, not just the refrain, are based on Scripture. Edward Mote must have been a man who loved God’s Word. He had come to understand hope was found in Christ, and he clearly embraced this truth in his life. I’m sure he had no idea the powerful song he ended up writing would become a classic, reminding the millions who would someday sing it that hope is found in Jesus. Hope is not something we need only now and then, based on circumstances. Hope must stay alive; it begins with Christ. The day we say yes to Him, there is an expectancy of a different outcome to our lives. Eternity is planted in our hearts, and hope is a fruit growing from it, keeping our hearts turned toward Him. The Lord tells us in Jeremiah 29:11 He has good plans for us and, as they unfold, we will see He gives us “a good future and a hope.” The hope He gives, motivates us to pursue the future He has planned. This allows us to impart hope, which puts wind beneath the wings of others, especially the children we raise. Hope looks past any fog or darkness that may be encroaching on our path, and helps us find our way forward. I state in my book, The Power of Hope: “Hope is to the heart what seeds are to the earth. Without hope, life is sterile, unfruitful. Without it, dreams won’t be conceived, and destinies won’t be realized. Hope is powerful because it is the starting line, the genesis, the launch pad. It is, in fact, the incubator where faith is formed: “Faith is the substance of things hoped for” God tells us (Hebrews 11:1 KJV, emphasis added). If there is no hope for the future, there will be no faith to face it - let alone build it.”(3) Strong’s concordance tells us the word “hope” in Jeremiah 29:11 is the word “tiqvah.” It has two meanings: “an expectancy;” “a cord, as an attachment.” The second definition is fascinating. Hope connects us to our future. Our dear friend, JoNell Burch Gerland, wrote a wonderful book entitled Threads of Hope...in a Frazzled World. It’s a devotional in which she has written 31 short words of encouragement on the topic of hope. JoNell shares a testimony on day nine about hope as expectancy. She describes the important difference between expectation, which is a hope-killer, and expectancy, which is a hope-nurturer: “Some time back, I was in a situation where I had prayed harder, fasted longer, and did my very best to follow all the right pathways to see a specific prayer answered. Believing I’d heard from God and giving it my all, I was doing my best to do all the right things. Well, much to my utter surprise and disappointment, nothing turned out as I thought it should or would. This caused me great grief, and I caused others grief in the process also. “One morning while I was in prayer, the Lord broke into my thoughts and asked me a simple question. ‘JoNell, you’ve ceased to expect much from Me, haven’t you?’ Knowing He values honesty, I responded to Him simply, ‘Yes, that’s true, Lord.’ “Then He spoke something to my heart that changed me forever. He said, ‘Daughter, when you cease to expect good things from Me, you protect your heart from the pain of disappointment, but you break Mine.’ Then He said, ‘How would you like it if your children no longer expected good things from you?’ “I realized then that dwelling at or on disappointment sets us back from the onward journey He has for us. At this place, if we are not careful, we say basically, ‘Okay, I will walk with You, and I will love You, but I am not expecting much out of our relationship any longer. I will just keep my expectations low, and I will be fine.’” JoNell goes on to show us the disciples dealt with this same issue. “We had our hopes up that He was the One,”( Luke 24:21). She explains, “Jesus had not lived up to their expectations, and it weighed heavily upon their souls as they walked along...Expectation is based on what we want to see. Expectancy is based on WHO He is, not on what He will do.”(4) This brings us back to the words of Mote’s song, “Our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.” At some point, while walking along life’s path with the Lord, this powerful truth became a revelation and he shared it with all the world in his hymn. The second definition of “tiqvah” is a “cord or rope.” It is used in this way in Joshua 2:18. A woman named Rahab hid the Israelite spies when they came to Jericho to check out the promised land. Because she helped them, they were led to save her and her family from the destruction coming to Jericho. The spies gave her a red cord and told her to hang it in her window. They cautioned her to be sure all of her extended family members were in the room with the cord, so they could all be saved. In verse 21, she accepted their offer. It was a very good thing she did. The entire city and its inhabitants were destroyed; only Rahab and her family survived. The passage reads, “When we come into the land, you must leave this scarlet cord [hope] hanging from the window through which you let us down… ‘I accept your terms,’ she replied. And, she sent them on their way, leaving the scarlet rope [hope] hanging from the window.” (NLT) Rahab was being asked to put her hope in these men, and the God she knew was with them. Their promise to her was a covenant expressed in the blood-red cord. Most scholars see this as a prophetic picture of Christ’s shed blood, which is where we place our trust. This symbolism seems even more likely when we realize Rahab married a man from the tribe of Judah (Salmon) and became the mother of Boaz. King David was one of her descendants. She was part of Christ’s lineage! That He descended from Rahab makes it almost certain that the scarlet cord symbolized the blood of Christ, through which we are saved. Mote’s song says, “His oath, His covenant, His blood, support me in the whelming flood; when all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay.” Let’s put all our hope in His covenant with us, knowing we are saved and anchored solidly in His love and plan. “Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope; today I declare that I will restore to you double.” (Zechariah 9:12 ESV) Pray with me: Father, we ask You to heal Your people from hope-deferred. You tell us hope-deferred makes our hearts sick (Proverbs 13:12). Heal them spiritually and emotionally so they can be hope-givers to those around them. Many have been in a season of disappointment; some have even abandoned hope, and lost faith in You. They have allowed circumstances to determine how they see and relate to You. Hope can correct our vision and bring us into right relationship with You. You are great! You are good, faithful, and have a plan to bring us into a hope-filled future. We break off of Your people fear, disillusionment, hope-deferred, weak hearts, and confusion. We release Your promise of “no fear,” but instead “power, love, and a sound mind.” We release over them the spirit of faith (2 Corinthians 4:13). Our hope and faith are strong for ourselves, our families, and our nation. We pray and decree these things in the name of our solid rock, Jesus! Amen. Today’s decree: We declare that a hope-filled church will reflect Jesus, rejoicing in hope, standing patient in tribulation, and remaining constant in prayer.
