The Discipline of the Lord What a privilege it is to be a child of God! We get to be disciplined by Him! What? You say you don’t like discipline? Oh, rethink that! In the discipline process, He works sin and generational iniquities out of us. He refines us and sanctifies us, transforming us into the nature of Christ. We won’t all come out looking alike in some religious pattern. Rather, we will shine with His Presence and be able to fulfill the fullness of the call of God that He has planned specifically for us! What a great joy! “In this all-out match against sin, others have suffered far worse than you, to say nothing of what Jesus went through—all that bloodshed! So don’t feel sorry for yourselves. Or have you forgotten how good parents treat children, and that God regards you as his children?” (Hebrews 12:4-5; MSG) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Invite God to discipline you, if need be! Be brave and tell Him that You need His discipline to be everything He created you to be. Ask Him to make you ready and to provide the grace to bring you through it. Our nation’s future is dependent on the Church, His beautiful Bride, maturing even further—becoming bold, living righteously, and having strength of character. Intercede on behalf of our nation that it would be disciplined as well. God loves America and has a wonderful plan for this nation, so He will be happy to comply. A prayer you can pray: Father, I invite Your discipline into my life. I may not like it in the short-term, but in the long-run, I will love who I have become. I also want to see more of Who You are. My eyes are often opened as I see You in a new role in my life. Grace me Lord to not give up as You correct me. Deliver me and clean me up! I want to make You known and not have anywhere in me that the enemy can grab hold of and pull me down with. Do this for the United States, as well! May we fulfill our destiny in this hour and glorify You, Jesus! Amen. Today’s decree: We embrace the discipline of the Lord, knowing that He disciplines whom He loves—both we and America.

Separating the Holy and the Profane Why are we accepting sin? Why are we accepting the ways of the world as if we have no choice? We act as if God is not watching! The Lord starts first at the Church when He cleans up a nation. He has to. It is just and right. We can’t expect the world to get its act together when ours is not. Aren’t you glad He loves us so much that He won’t leave us in our filth? “Your priests violate my teachings and dishonor my holy things. They don’t distinguish between what is holy and what is unholy. They don’t teach the difference between what is clean and what is unclean. They ignore the days to worship me. So I am dishonored among the people.” (Ezekiel 22:26; GWT) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Come close to God today—very close. You are blood-washed, so you can come close. Repent of any area of your life where you are not able to break sinful or iniquitous sin patterns. Don’t try to justify anything! Feel His forgiveness and His holiness wash over you. Invite the Holy Spirit to show you what is holy and clean and what is unholy and unclean. Where you have trouble accepting the truth of His Word, ask Him to give you a divine exchange—His Truth for the lies you believe, even though you may not have realized it. Read Ezekiel 22 and let Holy Spirit show you how to pray for the Church and the nation. Read it in the Message version, if possible. A prayer you can pray: Lord, I am so thankful that I can tuck in close to You. I am always welcome, thanks to Jesus’ blood shed for me! Coming close to You helps me feel the sin in my life and I give it all to You. Forgive me Lord and line me up with Your Word and Your plan for my life. Clean me up and help me be able to discern what is holy and unholy, clean and unclean in Your eyes. I want to be able to speak into the situations in my Church and in the nation that are contrary to Your Word, so clean my spiritual sight up and let me be holy, Jesus. I will read and pray through Ezekiel 22 and get this right. Amen. Today’s decree: God will straighten us up and give His Church the ability to show the nation the difference between holy and unclean.

Wisdom and Understanding President-elect Donald J. Trump and his Cabinet members are going to need much wisdom to navigate their way forward. There are challenges, both real and imagined. Mr. Trump does not have experience in government, but he appears to be installing those around him that will provide what he is lacking. Natural knowledge will be very important, but those who know to seek the Lord for wisdom will be a greater treasure. “The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord.” (Isaiah 11:2; NIV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Pray Isaiah 11:2 above over Donald Trump. Take your time and let Holy Spirit show you how to expand your intercession for him. Pray the same over his Cabinet choices. You can find the current list here. Bookmark the page and keep going back to it regularly as you pray for them. Intercede for your Senators and Congressmen likewise. You can find them here and here. A prayer you can pray: Father, I ask that you would lead Donald Trump by Your Spirit, Lord. Regardless of his depth of relationship with You, please grace him with a gift of wisdom. Teach him what he doesn’t know. Help him to continue to make wise choices of those he surrounds himself with. Where Cabinet members know You, grant them Your wisdom and understanding of how to use the knowledge You give them, paired with what they know of the natural realm, to lead our nation forward. Grant them all, together with our Congressmen and women, great skill and the humility to seek You daily. In Jesus’ name, amen. Today’s decree: God desires to pour out His Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord on our nation’s new leaders.

Our Stability We need God to show up! That’s what a Great Awakening is about – God showing up. We don’t need a great outpouring of emotion, although some may be emotional. We need change – change of hearts and lives, and societal change. We need confidence in Christ, wholeness and perseverance. “People with their minds set on you, you keep completely whole, steady on their feet, because they keep at it and don’t quit.” (Isaiah 26:3; The Message) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Call for God to come to America. Tell Him you will not stop until You see Him moving in unprecedented measure! Thank Him for the multitudes of souls that will be saved and the change to society that is coming to America, as a result. A prayer you can pray: God, come to America! Look at us, Lord. We are in desperate need of You. Look at us, Lord. We have moved far from You. I will not stop crying out until I see your move. I will persevere in intercession for as long as it takes. Thank You for all of those who will be saved in this move of God. Thank You for the changes You are making in our nation Jesus. Amen. Today’s decree: I decree that God is about to show up in a third Great Awakening in America!

Harvest Angels Coming in 2017 “An abundant harvest is at hand. I am releasing angels of abundant harvest into the nation. You will reap what you have sown. This is a double-edged sword. Where the enemy has resisted your harvest in years past, you will see a multiplication effect of blessing in your life. Doors will open unto you that no man can open. Opportunities will come your way that you never dreamed, imagined or even thought to ask for. Provision will enter your life from unexpected places.” (Jennifer LeClaire)1 “Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting. He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.” (Psalm 126:5-6; NIV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Determine to look forward and not back. Ask the Lord to remind you what you have sown. Don’t be afraid to ask. Write it down, if you want. Declare that the enemy cannot hold back your harvest. Believe the prophets and thank the Lord that provision is coming! Give a big shout of joy in advance of seeing your abundant harvest! A prayer you can pray: Father, thank you for the Word of the Lord through the prophets. I have felt like my harvest has been held back, but I won’t dwell on that any more. I will look forward with expectation and belief. Remind me how I have sown, so I can watch for Your faithfulness to me.  The enemy cannot hold my harvest back! Thank you, Lord, that harvest angels are coming! I will shout out my gratefulness! Thank you, Jesus! Amen. Today’s decree: Harvest angels will open miracle doors and bring miracle provision in 2017! 1 Read the rest of the Word and learn about Jennifer LeClaire here.

Celebrating the Prince of Peace “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.” (Isaiah 9:6-7; NASB) “The people who walk in darkness will see a great light; those who live in a dark land, the light will shine on them. You shall multiply the nation, You shall increase their gladness. (Isaiah 9:2-3; NASB) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Merry Christmas! Read the above scriptures and stop and pray as the Lord leads you. Read Luke 2:1-20. Again, pray as the Lord leads you. We have a new national governmental leadership. Our hope is not in that leadership, but in the Prince of Peace. Pray for a partnership between America’s earthly leaders and the King of Kings. A prayer you can pray: Glory to God in the highest! On earth, peace and good will to men! We worship You this Christmas Day, Father! Thank You, Jesus, that You came to us! We exalt You as Wonderful Counselor, Almighty God and Prince of Peace. We acknowledge that You head a government of which there is no end. We ask You to draw our President-elect to Yourself and that You anoint Him to lead our nation in accordance with Your plan. May this be a nation filled with the Light of Christ, shining forth the glory of God to other nations of the earth. In Jesus’ Name, amen. Today’s decree: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace and good will to men!

The Greatest of Mysteries “The stable stinks like all stables do. The stench of urine, dung, and sheep reeks pungently in the air. The ground is hard, the hay scarce. A more lowly place of birth could not exist. Near the young mother sits the weary father. If anyone is dozing, he is. He can’t remember the last time he sat down. And now that the excitement has subsided a bit, now that Mary and the baby are comfortable, he leans against the wall of the stable and feels his eyes grow heavy. He still hasn’t figured it all out. The mystery of the event still puzzles him. What’s important is that the baby is fine and that Mary is safe. As sleep comes, he remembers the name the angel told him to use . . . Jesus. ‘We will call him Jesus.’” (Max Lucado)1 “While they were in Bethlehem, the time came for Mary to have her child. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger because there wasn’t any room for them in the inn.” (Luke 2:6-7; GWB) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: King Jesus was born in a manger. Sit and think about this humble situation for a while. Ask God to give You revelation on this. Put on some Christmas music and worship Him. You may be feeling tired and weary from the stress of the season. Give it all to Jesus. Pray for family members and friends. You know their needs. Talk to Jesus about them. Pick up the phone and ask if you can pray for one of them. A prayer you can pray: King Jesus, how humbly You came. It’s hard to understand the Father’s plan to send You in such a quiet way. As I sit and ponder this, speak to me, Holy Spirit. Help me to “see” why You do what You do. Help me to know what really matters to You. Obviously, the flash of earthly wealth is meaningless and You are okay to do things quietly behind the scenes. The description of the special night of Your birth brings a peace to me. I give you my season’s stress. Exchange it for Your Rest. I will sit here and talk to You a while about what really matters – my family and friends. Meet their deepest needs, Jesus. Then, I think I will call one of them and pray about their needs with them. Amen. Today’s decree: God loves humility, peace, surprise and rest. 1 Lucado, Max, “It Began In a Manger.” https://maxlucado.com/it-began-in-a-manger-christmas/March 22, 2012.

The Light of the World Jesus Christ is the Light of the World. He was there when the world was created, but the World could not see who He was when He arrived to light up the way to the Father. But, we have seen Him! We are filled with His light! His light is shining into the darkness, bringing hope and bringing life. Watch how brightly America will shine when all those of us who truly know Him let His light shine through us this Christmas! “The one who is the true Light arrived to shine on everyone coming into the world. But although he made the world, the world didn’t recognize him when he came. Even in his own land and among his own people, the Jews, he was not accepted. Only a few would welcome and receive him. But to all who received him, he gave the right to become children of God. All they needed to do was to trust him to save them. All those who believe this are reborn!—not a physical rebirth resulting from human passion or plan—but from the will of God. And Christ became a human being and lived here on earth among us and was full of loving forgiveness and truth. And some of us have seen his glory—the glory of the only Son of the heavenly Father!” (John 1:9-14; TLB) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: It is a day to exalt the Light of Lights, Jesus! Worship Him for a while. Thank Him for filling you with the light, even as He is the Light. Ask Him to shine brightly through you into this dark nation. Be aware everywhere you go today that you are bringing His light into that place and those circumstances. Let Holy Spirit show you how to pray as you go. Ask the Lord to give true hope to wherever there is hopelessness in your area. Ask Him to flood the area with His light and love, and ask Him to make Himself seen! A prayer you can pray: Jesus, I worship You! Light of the world, I exalt Your holy name! (Use your own words and songs to worship Him for a while.) I thank You for filling me with Your light, even as You are the Light! Shine into the dark world around me. Shine through me into these dark areas (name some of them as Holy Spirit shows you what is around you.) Jesus, as I go about my day today, make me acutely aware of where Your light is needed. Holy Spirit, highlight the darkness in my corner of America, which I so often miss.  Show me how to release Your light in those places, so Jesus might be seen and might give hope! Amen! Today’s decree: We will let His light shine through us lighting bright our nation!

God With Us Jesus was God’s gift given to us and He lived among us. He was born in humble circumstances to common parents. He experienced “the human condition” all around him and saw suffering, hunger, grief, greed, violence and other effects of sin on mankind. He brought glory, “God’s manifest presence”, into the mix. We carry that glory now. “The Word became a human being and, full of grace and truth, lived among us. We saw his glory, the glory which he received as the Father’s only Son.” (John 1:14; GNT) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Thank the Father for sending Jesus to not just save us, but to live among us, so that we can know that He experienced what our lives may be like. Thank Him that Jesus carried God’s glory and brought His Presence, so that we could see God in the middle of our earthly condition. Ask the Lord to give you a revelation of this, then go and be aware that you are carrying His Presence into your everyday experiences this holiday season. A prayer you can pray: Dear Lord, I am thankful that Jesus walked around on earth as a human being, but filled with your glory, your Manifest Presence. Help me to understand that since I am saved, I carry the Presence of God also, everywhere that I go. I want those I encounter this holiday season to see your glory through my life. Change our nation as Your people walk around filled with Your Holy Spirit, bringing love and light wherever we go! Amen. Today’s decree: I decree that I am a carrier of God’s glory and His Presence that the world might see Him wherever I go.

Wisdom and Discernment Solomon asked the Lord for wisdom. He could have asked him for many things—anything. He chose to ask for wisdom. This pleased the Lord and He gave Solomon many other things that he could have asked for. Solomon took the limitations off himself when he asked for the wisdom of God. Imagine the vastness of this wisdom. Imagine the depth of this wisdom. Imagine how one could lead if endowed with the wisdom of God! “The Lord was pleased with his reply and was glad that Solomon had asked for wisdom. So he replied, ‘Because you have asked for wisdom in governing my people and haven’t asked for a long life, or riches for yourself, or the defeat of your enemies—yes, I’ll give you what you asked for! I will give you a wiser mind than anyone else has ever had or ever will have! And I will also give you what you didn’t ask for—riches and honor! And no one in all the world will be as rich and famous as you for the rest of your life! And I will give you a long life if you follow me and obey my laws as your father David did.’” (1 Kings 3:10-14; TLB) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Find scriptures on the wisdom of God and pray them into your own life, asking God to give you His wisdom. Intercede for our nation’s new leadership, especially for our President-elect Trump, and pray they would seek God for His wisdom, knowing that they cannot adequately govern without it. Repent for doing things in your own power, out of your own thoughts and mindset, and ask Him to change your heart, thoughts and life as He exchanges your limitations with His unlimited wisdom. A prayer you can pray: Father, I am encouraged when I think about how Solomon’s life changed when he asked You for wisdom, instead of other things he could have asked for. I will go to Your Word now and pray scriptures about Your wisdom over my life. Please grant me Your wisdom. Please grant this wisdom to our incoming government leaders. They will need to think differently. They will be limited, even with all the brilliance they have, unless You give them Your wisdom. They will need all that You can give them. Please forgive all of us for doing so much in our own strength, without seeking You, without asking You how and when. Remove our limitations, as You fill us with Your wisdom, Lord. Thank You, Jesus! Amen. Today’s decree: Our nation will move forward only as we reach out and ask and receive the gift of the unlimited wisdom of God!
