Celebrating the Prince of Peace

“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.” (Isaiah 9:6-7; NASB)

“The people who walk in darkness will see a great light; those who live in a dark land, the light will shine on them. You shall multiply the nation, You shall increase their gladness. (Isaiah 9:2-3; NASB)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  1. Merry Christmas! Read the above scriptures and stop and pray as the Lord leads you.

  2. Read Luke 2:1-20. Again, pray as the Lord leads you.

  3. We have a new national governmental leadership. Our hope is not in that leadership, but in the Prince of Peace. Pray for a partnership between America’s earthly leaders and the King of Kings.

A prayer you can pray:

Glory to God in the highest! On earth, peace and good will to men! We worship You this Christmas Day, Father! Thank You, Jesus, that You came to us! We exalt You as Wonderful Counselor, Almighty God and Prince of Peace. We acknowledge that You head a government of which there is no end. We ask You to draw our President-elect to Yourself and that You anoint Him to lead our nation in accordance with Your plan. May this be a nation filled with the Light of Christ, shining forth the glory of God to other nations of the earth. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Today’s decree:

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace and good will to men!
