The Harder the Conflict, the More Glorious the Triumph
Last Monday and Tuesday (election day) I was in Potter County, Pennsylvania, at the headwaters of the Allegheny River, praying for America and the election. I was led to do so by three dreams, one of which included President Trump, who journeyed there (facing great opposition) in order to decree over America’s purpose and destiny. In one of the dreams, I was at the headwaters when Thomas Paine, the most influential voice to the 13 colonies – who through his writings inspired them to declare independence from England – gave me an important message. I was to deliver the message to Washington, DC. I have pondered the dream since last week, wondering why God chose Thomas Paine to be in the dream. I believe the following is part of the answer.
Thomas Paine wrote a pamphlet called, American Crisis, to inspire our young nation’s citizens to keep fighting for freedom. General George Washington ordered its words read aloud to encourage his dispirited men on the battlefield. “These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as Freedom should not be highly rated.”
I believe God wants to sow Paine’s powerful words into the heart of the nation again. May they permeate the hearts and minds of this generation, resulting in the same commitment they inspired 240 years ago. We must not allow to be stolen, the freedoms – nor the destiny – the brave patriots of his day bought for us. They gave their “lives, fortunes, and sacred honor.” At the very least, we can give our prayers.
Give Him 15 Minutes in Prayer:
Thank the Lord for the freedoms we enjoy in this great nation... and for those who purchased them for us.
Consider the fact that we also have been honored with the destiny of being a voice for the gospel to the end of the earth.
Re-commit yourself to this. Ask Holy Spirit to show you your role.
Make your stand in prayer that you will allow nothing to steal from us this privilege and responsibility.
Pray for every legal vote in this election to be counted, and for every illegal vote to be disallowed.
A prayer you can pray:
Father, I thank you for the freedoms we have. We have been blessed beyond measure. I take the time now to thank you for those who have paid the ultimate price for these freedoms, and to honor them. As we have entered another season in which what you established for this nation is being challenged, I ask you to preserve our destiny. Thank you for resetting this nation back into our covenant purpose with you: the propagation of the gospel of the kingdom to the entire earth. I ask you to resurrect this fully! May we pass on to our children, and our children’s children the America you want and need.
I know that President Trump is a part of this process. He has stood in the way of those who would lead us further away from You. He has chosen to stand for the babies. He has stood with the church. He has stood with Israel. He has resisted the evil leaders around the world who are trying to steal, kill, and destroy. I pray that you bless him, protect him, and give us a true election count. I’m asking you to expose and overthrow all fraud. I bind every effort being made to enact and preserve this fraud, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Today’s decree:
I decree falsehoods will no longer be allowed to masquerade as facts and reality in America. Truth will be our guide!
