Expect the Unexpected

There will be a spiritual war with religion. Religion will try to hold you in captivity to what God did at a certain time, but is no longer doing. Law wants to hold old methods in place. Jesus said, “Don’t be offended at what I do.” There may come a stumbling block in the near future. Don’t stumble over it. Find the new way. It will probably be a resurrection of the Jesus movement, because that movement never matured. It was rejected by the Church of the day. (Chuck Pierce)1

“The blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have good news proclaimed to them. Blessed is anyone who takes no offense at me.” (Matthew 11:5-6; GW)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  1. Have you ever asked yourself if you would recognize Jesus if He came today? Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to help you discern what the Father is doing. Tell Him you do not want to resist the next move of God.

  2. Repent over those places you know of in your heart and life where you like religious things to be a certain way.

  3. Now, do something different than you would normally do to worship Him. Put a different type of worship on or pray a different way or listen to a speaker who’s new on the scene. Push yourself out of your comfort zone on purpose. Get your heart ready for change.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, I can feel the change that’s coming. I want to recognize what You are doing! I don’t want to be one stuck in an old place, stuck in the Law. Please forgive the love I have for religious tradition if it will cause me to miss what You are about to do. I don’t want to be like the Pharisees and actively oppose Your next move! I will war for the discernment I need by worshipping in a new way. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Today’s decree:

I choose to be at war with the spirit of religion that will keep me from seeing the next move of God!
