Kingdom of God, Come!
The Lord’s prayer is a passage of scripture that most Christians know by heart. We say it by rote in most Sunday services. It is a comforting passage, if for no other reason than we know it so well. However, this passage was written in the present imperative tense, which basically means it is written as a command! It changes everything when you read it like this and pray it like this!
“This is how you should pray: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Holy is Your name. Kingdom of God, come! Will of God, be done! On earth as it is in heaven.’” (Matthew 6:9-10)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
So, you think you know the Lord’s Prayer? Go ahead and recite it as you know it. Now, recite it beginning as written above! Let it sink in!
Tell the Lord you want to align with His purpose for this scripture—His command to us is that we command His Kingdom to come into the earth! That we command His Will to be done in the earth, so that heaven and earth are aligned!
Command His Kingdom to come in every place you can think of where there is governmental authority. His Kingdom must come into that place of authority and when it does, at the command of His people, His voice in the earth, everything must change!
A prayer you can pray:
“In alignment with our King, we would dare pray the King’s prayer the King’s way today. We say to the Kingdom of Almighty God, “Come! And keep on coming! Come Kingdom of God. Come to every capital. Come to every state. Come to Washington, D. C. Come to our cities and schools and police departments. Ruling government of God, come! Come and rule over us in Jesus’ Name!” Amen.
Today’s decree:
We will take another look at this scripture, ask God for a revelation of it’s imperative nature, and then use it like a sword to see the Kingdom of God come all around us!
