What Thomas Jefferson Feared Though it is impossible to overstate the damage inflicted over the past 7 years by the current administration, much of the destruction actually began in the 1960’s when God’s influence was removed from our schools. Our destruction originated in the Supreme Court. Interestingly, this was “prophesied” by Thomas Jefferson, whose greatest fear was that the courts would inappropriately take authority not afforded them by the Constitution—which he helped draft! In 1821 Jefferson declared, “The germ of dissolution of our federal government is in the federal judiciary. An irresponsible body, working like gravity by night and by day, gaining a little today and a little tomorrow, and advancing its noiseless step like a thief over the field of jurisdiction, until all shall be usurped from the states.” “How horrible it will be for those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness into light and light into darkness, who turn what is bitter into something sweet and what is sweet into something bitter.” (Isaiah 5:20; GWT) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Let’s pray about the Supreme Court today. You can learn about the Court here. Call the Court to accountability before the Judge of the whole earth. Proclaim that there is a Court above our Court, which will someday try every man for their deeds. Intercede with passion for the salvation of the current 9 Supreme Court Justices and those past justices that are still living: John Paul Stevens, Sandra Day O’Connor and David Souter. Forgive them, for they do not understand what they have done as far as making decisions that turn the nation’s course away from that which pleases God. Declare that the Court is limited to the Constitutional boundaries it was given and that it shall not make law! Ask for a long-seated God-fearing Court. A prayer you can pray: Dear Lord, teach me about the U. S. Supreme Court and the role the Justices were supposed to play, as opposed to the role they do play. We bring this court to You, Judge of the earth, and we ask You to judge with righteous judgement the actions of this court. We declare that Your rulings alone will stand. Turn the hearts of these men and women, as You turn the course of water. Reveal Yourself to them and we pray that they would be saved. We declare that the U. S. Supreme Court is limited in its actions to the boundaries given to it in the Constitution. We ask for God-fearing Justices that will serve long and serve our people well. In the Name of Jesus, Amen. Today’s decree: We decree that the usurping power of the Supreme Court Justices is stopped in its tracks today and that the Court will return to its boundaries mandated by the U. S. Constitution.

Have You Done Nothing? In the movie The Patriot, Benjamin Martin’s sister-in-law attempted to comfort him, defending his decision not to fight the British. “You have done nothing for which to be ashamed,” she said. Martin’s powerful and poignant response was, “I have done nothing. For that I am ashamed.” God forbid this would become the tragic epitaph of believers in America. May we, like Martin, awaken to the cause and fight. “So you see, it isn’t enough just to have faith. You must also do good to prove that you have it. Faith that doesn’t show itself by good works is no faith at all—it is dead and useless.” (James 2:17; TLB) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: If you feel as Benjamin Martin did, the good news is you can repent. Change your mind and determine to go a different way. Look around and decide what you can do to make a difference in the nation. Pray, of course. Vote, of course! Make a new unsaved friend. Contact your Senator or Congressman in support of legislation or to state that you are opposed to some. Attend a City Council or School Board meeting and learn how you can run for local office. There are lots of ways to work toward changing a nation. Pray for those that represent you in office, from your city council level to congressional level. If you don’t know who your elected officials are at the local, county, state and federal levels, do an online search and find out! A prayer you can pray: Lord, I have to admit that there are times when I feel that I do nothing. I wonder if the small part I can do would make a difference or would really matter. Forgive me for thinking that way. If all Christians did just a little bit, it would add up to a LOT! Change my heart now and lead me to know how to act as well as pray. Show me if there is anything specific you would like me to be doing. I want to help my nation glorify You, Jesus. Amen. Today’s decree: I am determined to never feel ashamed for doing nothing to shift my nation to glorify God through Jesus Christ!

If You’re 18, You Can Vote! On June 30, 1971 “the 26th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was enacted, granting the right to vote in all federal, state and local elections to American citizens 18 years or older. The U.S. thus gained an additional 11 million voters. The minimum voting age in most states had been 21.”1 “The God of Israel has talked to me; and the Rock of Israel said, ‘One who rules people with justice and who leads them in the fear of God is like the morning light, the sun rising on a cloudless morning, and the shining grasslands brought up from rain.’” (2 Samuel 23:3-4; VOICE) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Young people between the ages of 18 and 21, rejoice, because you have been given a voice in our nation’s affairs and you can express that voice in a vote! Have you registered to vote? If not, click here to find out what you need to do to get registered to vote on November 8. Spend some time in prayer and ask the Lord who you should vote for. And, do a little research. Start praying today, but continue daily until you know what to do. A prayer you can pray: Father, thank you that I have a voice in our nation’s future! I can vote! Help me to take the responsibility to help guide my nation forward seriously by voting in November. Please show me who You would like me to vote for. Lead me to the information and counsel I need to help get this nation on track with Your heart, will and plan. In the Name of Jesus, Amen. Today’s decree: I have a voice in my nation’s future and I will vote in November! 1 “The History Place: This Day in History: June 30”. www.thehistoryplace.com, 2016. 6/29/16.

Are Supreme Court Reversals Possible? In light of the Supreme Court striking down Texas SB5 which would have allowed for abortion clinic guidelines to protect the safety and lives of mothers seeking abortion, many feel like this is a permanent decision. On June 29, 1972 “the U. S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that capital punishment was a violation of the Eighth Amendment prohibiting ‘cruel and unusual punishment.’ Four years later, in another ruling, the Court reversed itself.”1 “When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan.” (Proverbs 29:2; NLT) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Where God is honored, hope springs eternal. Worship Him who gives you hope! Repent for any feelings of hopelessness you may have been struggling with. Cast them off and hope again. Thank the Lord that Supreme Courts are made of men who each have an ideology. Pray for God to reseat the Court and give us righteous Justices who could reverse abortion in our lifetime! A prayer you can pray: Father, You give hope to the hopeless! Grant me grace today to believe that all things are possible to those that believe! I repent for any place in me that says “God can’t” or “God doesn’t want to” or “God won’t.” God, You can and You want to and you will in Your perfect timing. I boldly ask You to place Justices on the U. S. Supreme Court that will someday reverse abortion in this nation! My eyes are fixed on You and on that day, Lord! In Jesus’ life-giving Name, Amen. Today’s decree: God is able to seat a Supreme Court that will reverse abortion in my lifetime! 1 “The History Place: This Day in History: June 29”. www.thehistoryplace.com, 2016. 2/28/16.

SCOTUS Abortion Decision In March of 2013 it was discovered that an abortion practitioner named Kermit Gosnell had subjected women to horrific and unsanitary conditions in providing them with abortions on demand. He was not an obstetrician; he was an abortionist. The way he practiced took the lives of women and he literally murdered babies that survived his barbaric procedures. So, the State of Texas passed legislation to protect women and babies from such conditions. Today, the Supreme Court struck down that legislation. “Now, you women, hear the word of the Lord; open your ears to the words of his mouth. Teach your daughters how to wail; teach one another a lament. Death has climbed in through our windows and has entered our fortresses; it has removed the children from the streets and the young men from the public squares.” (Jeremiah 9:20-21; NIV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: There is a time to grieve and today is one of those times. Sit before the Lord and ask Him to help you mourn. We are mourning the millions who have died and the possible multitudes who will continue to as a result of the US Supreme Court’s actions today. Some say that the TX SB5 did not go far enough; it did not stop abortion. It did, however, protect the life of women and potentially thousands of babies. The pro-choice crowd is always talking about protecting the health of the woman. Well… Cry out against the enemy’s lies leading our citizens to immorality, promiscuity, fornication and abortion. Cry out for a harvest of souls as the one and only way right now to curb abortion in America! Get up, wash your face and worship God, for He is worthy to be worshipped. Commit to not give up. We will keep on praying and keep on acting until we see this travesty removed from our land. A prayer you can pray: Dear Lord, we weep at the actions of our Supreme Court Justices that will not help our women and children. We weep with those who are mourning the loss of their children even 40 years later. We weep for the women who have lost their lives in Gosnell-type facilities. We want the ending of abortion in America, Lord! Deliver us from the lies of the enemy who says it is okay to live any way we want and not have to bear the consequences of unplanned children. We will forever bear that burden, as their blood cries out from the land. Never-the-less, I worship You, Father, for You are good and just and righteous altogether! Send revival to America! Save us and save our nation. In the Name of Jesus, Amen. Today’s decree: We will weep over the sin of abortion and for the safety of the unborn and their mothers for as long as it takes to end abortion in America.

Are You Afraid? There are some unsettling things happening in the nation and around the world right now that are causing some people to feel afraid. Terrorism and the possibility of it on domestic soil probably tops the list. With the UK deciding to opt out of the European Union, markets are shaking making many wonder, especially retirees, if another economic downturn may soon be upon us. Natural disasters seem to be increasing, ranging from flooding in many areas to fires in the parched west. Are you feeling afraid? “There is no fear where love exists. Rather, perfect love banishes fear, for fear involves punishment, and the person who lives in fear has not been perfected in love.” (1 John 4:18; ISV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Tell the Lord how you feel if you are feeling afraid. He understands. Ask the Lord to show you again just how deeply loved you are and how He is the Savior with a way out of and through all of these scary things we face. Let Him comfort you, then worship Him. Share His love and comfort with others you know that are fearful. Ask Him for wisdom to know how to pray into some of these challenging situations. A prayer you can pray: Lord, I am feeling _______ right now in light of all of the upheaval in the nation and the world. Remind me of the depth of Your love for me. Show me how You are my Savior and the place of safety when everything else is a mess. I know You have a way through these things and I want to see You more in the middle of them. Lead me to others who need to know Your love, that I may comfort and encourage them, also. And, continuously teach me to partner with You in prayer, so that Your Kingdom is advanced in the middle of the storm. In the Name of Jesus, Amen. Today’s decree: The Lord’s love will guide us through any confusion in the days and nights ahead and we shall be victorious!

West Virginia Our hearts are weeping with West Virginia today. Saturday, a state of emergency was declared for the state. Flooding has devastated areas across nearly the entire state, but particularly in 3 counties. 26 people have been found dead, so far. Over 100 homes have been lost and a great number of businesses have been interrupted, as well. The media is calling this a 1000-year flood, meaning it would only happen once in 1ooo years. Not far away, the Lord has been pouring out in revival in Mingo County, WV. “Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.” (Romans 12:15; ESV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Pray for those who live in the state of West Virginia. Ask the Lord for mercy and, if you weep while you pray, know that your tears of intercession are welcome before the throne of grace. Ask the Lord to direct government and private aid into the state, so that it is exactly what is needed. Sometimes too many well-meaning organizations come in and actually make the recovery harder. Pray for Believers to shine in this hour, sharing the love and compassion of Jesus with those who have lost much. Ask that the revival moves to the northeast and that many find Christ in this hour of need. A prayer you can pray: Father, we weep with West Virginia tonight. It is hard to imagine so great a loss across an entire state. We are asking You to direct the efforts to bring comfort and assistance, cleanup and recovery to the devastated areas. Keep people and groups away that are in it for themselves. Let Your Church there be examples of the Believers in every way and show forth Your love so that many will come to know You. Expand the revival in West Virginia, Lord. In the Name of Jesus, Amen. Today’s decree: The people of West Virginia are deeply loved by God and we will see revival expand turning this tragedy into glory!

The Mephibosheth Generation “Once I just went to this place where young people were gathered and my message was this: ‘God’s going to show mercy to the youth of America, because He remembers His covenant with Jonathan Edwards, the father of the first Great Awakening. And just like David showed mercy to Mephibosheth just because he was the offspring of a covenant he had with Jonathan, so God will show mercy to a broken Mephibosheth generation. He will show them mercy, because they are the spiritual great grandsons of Jonathan Edwards.’ When I finished, a young man came up to me and told me he was the great-great-great-great grandson of Jonathan Edwards.” (Lou Engle)1 “Now David said, “Is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?” “Mephibosheth your master’s son shall eat bread at my table always.” (2 Samuel 9:3b & 10b; NKJV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Decree and declare that God will show mercy to the youth of America because of His covenant promises to Jonathan Edwards. Pray for every young person 30 and under that you know. Pray for them by name and call them out of the things that keep them from knowing Christ or fully walking in His grace! Pray for the babies and toddlers and young children that they will come to know Christ at their young age. Ask the Lord to give their parents wisdom to raise them in such a way that they never walk away from God, but will be expanders of the Kingdom in their generation. A prayer you can pray: God, we declare that You are a covenant keeping God! We declare that You will remember Your covenant with Jonathan Edwards and others in the first and second Great Awakenings and grant mercy to another generation of young people. They need grace to turn from their own ways and embrace You, the One Who deeply loves them! Mercy Lord! We pray for those 30 and under, but we also pray for the babies and toddlers and small children, that they would come to know You at a young age and be discipled by their parents in such a way that they never leave You! Mercy, Lord! In Jesus’ Name, Amen. Today’s decree: We decree that God will show mercy to a Mephibosheth generation, these broken ones, and they will arise as His Kingdom-expanders! We Remember Remember when it was legal to pray in school? Remember when the teacher led in a short 22-word prayer or in reciting the Lord’s Prayer together with the Pledge of Allegiance? Remember when babies were primarily safe in the womb? That was when our nation had a conscience and did its best to honor God. Even though it wasn’t always at a very deep level, there was a fear of the Lord over America. “Fear of the LORD is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever!” (Psalms 111:10; NLT) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Many of us do remember those days. Ask God for a third Great Awakening to turn us back as a nation. Ask for the reversal of unrighteous laws and ask God to give us righteous leaders. Decree that God will choose who sits in the White House and who appoints the next few Supreme Court Justices. Declare that God will influence the elections from the mayors and city council members to the governors and those in Congress. A prayer you can pray: Father, our nation’s past was not perfect or idyllic, but we were known around the world as a nation that honored You. We need another Great Awakening, even more powerful than the first two, in order to set this nation back on Your course. We ask you to reverse unrighteous laws that have been passed these last 50 to 60 years. We ask you to give us righteous leaders – those after Your own heart. We decree that You are able to move on the hearts of men and women as they vote and move them to choose those You have chosen to represent us and restore us, Lord. In the Name of Jesus, Amen. Today’s decree: Your Kingdom come, Your Will be done, as we, Your Church, use the Isaiah 22:22 Key of David to open doors no man can shut and shut doors that no man can open!

For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.” (Romans 13:11; ESV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Learn more about the streams of healing evangelists here and here. Let God stir up a desire in you to walk in this type of move now. He is not pouring out on 1 or 2. He is pouring out on all flesh! Pray for the great ingathering of souls. The Tabernacle of David For This Generation “Here we are at the most important time of the entire decade. It’s unusual, what is about to happen. Look at somebody and say, ‘You’ve been waiting for this.’ God is connecting heaven and earth in a unique way. He is connecting identity with destinies. The Tabernacle of David is coming into place for this generation.” (Chuck Pierce)1 “’After this I will return and rebuild David’s fallen tent. Its ruins I will rebuild, and I will restore it, that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, even all the Gentiles who bear my name,’ says the Lord, who does these things—things known from long ago.” (Acts 15:16-18; NIV) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: David was a man who warred hard and worshipped even harder! We warred hard yesterday. Worship harder today! The Tabernacle of David was one that was open to all to worship in spirit and truth, unlike the tabernacle of Moses that was only open to the priests. Ask the Lord to hasten the pouring out of His Presence among us! Pray that as this generation is filled with His Power and Presence, identities will become clear and destinies will begin to unfold. A prayer you can pray: Dear Lord, we thank you for choosing David who was so human and transparent, flawed, yet loved by You and deeply in love with You. He was a worshipper who wanted nothing else except to be in Your Presence. He longed to build a house for You to dwell in. We are Your tabernacle in this generation! Fill us with Your Presence! We pray that You would clarify our identities as we worship You and watch You unfold our destinies before us. May we expand the tent pegs of Your tabernacle in this nation, Lord! In the Name of Jesus, Amen. Today’s decree: The Lord is now building the Tabernacle of David in this Generation! 1 You can learn more about Chuck Pierce here.

Strategy to Overcome “The U.S. strategy for conquering Japan (during World War II) was to capture a succession of weaker Japanese outposts, ‘island-hopping’ toward the Japanese mainland. Slowly, in many bloody battles in the Pacific jungle, at Guadalcanal, the Solomon Islands, the Philippines, and Iwo Jima, the U.S. forces wrested Pacific territory from the Japanese, island by island.”1 “Then Joshua said to his men, ‘Be strong and brave! Don’t be afraid. I will show you what the Lord will do to the enemies you will fight in the future.’ Joshua captured all the cities from Kadesh Barnea to Gaza. And he captured all the cities from Goshen to Gibeon. He captured all these cities and their kings on one trip. He did it because the Lord, the God of Israel, was fighting for Israel.” (Joshua 10:25 & 41-42; ICB) Give Him 15 minutes in prayer: Spiritual warfare often mimics warfare in the natural realm. Ask the Lord for prayer strategies that chip away at demonic strongholds in the nation and in your state and region bit by bit. Write them down and watch for victories reported in the media. Grab a friend or two and take your prayer strikes out into the community. Pray over places you know of that represent current or historical strongholds. Where was innocent blood shed? Where is there false worship? Where are there strongholds of poverty? Ask the Lord to show you where to go and what to do – He will! Start somewhere and keep this up over time. Don’t worry if others have already done this. If you still see a problem, then go do it again! Reinforce spiritual victories: go to places where God moved in past revivals. Where are the wells? Go “redig” them in intercession. Finally, prayer without action is often not enough to keep the enemy permanently at bay. Ask the Lord if there is a strategy in the natural to effect lasting change. Get filled with faith and do whatever He tells you to do – big or small. A prayer you can pray: Father, teach us to war in the spirit! Show me where there are spiritual strongholds that have been built up by the enemy that you want me to deal with in my generation. Give me a prayer partner or two or three to go to historical sites to pray until the enemy is routed! Send us to the places where You have moved in that past, so we can redig those wells of revival! Fill us with faith and show us how to hold the ground both in prayer and in action. Thank you, Jesus, Amen. Today’s decree: We will take ground one step at a time until our God has reversed every curse and we have shifted our nation to glorify Him! 1 The Library of Congress, American Memory, “Today in History.” LibraryOfCongress.com. 12/10/2010.
