From These Shores the Gospel Shall Go Forth
In 1606, the Susan Constant sailed from England to the New World. Landing at Cape Henry, Pilgrim chaplain Robert Hunt declared, “from these very shores the Gospel shall go forth to not only this New World, but the entire world”. While we don’t look for a savior in any political personality or system, the Bible advocates good government, because it will allow the word of the Lord to run swiftly. Isaiah 32:1-8 is primarily a millennial passage but there are applications for today. These verses should be prayed and declared for our own government. Whenever righteous government is in place, the word of the Lord moves swiftly through the land, is understood, and is glorified.
America is not God’s answer to all the world’s problems, but the freedoms this nation has protected for hundreds of years have allowed us to send missionaries to the ends of the earth with the REAL answer. It is imperative for Christians to engage in the political process to conserve the liberties that are subtly threatened in today’s geopolitical environment. (Kelsey Bohlender)
“Behold, a king will reign righteously and princes will rule justly. Each will be like a refuge from the wind and a shelter from the storm, like streams of water in a dry country, like the shade of a huge rock in a parched land. Then the eyes of those who see will not be blinded, and the ears of those who hear will listen.” (Isaiah 32:1-3; NASB)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
Pray that the Lord would grace us with a righteous government to be established in America.
Ask the Lord for a President-elect who respects and defends religious liberties.
Intercede on behalf of the nation, that His covenant with this land would be renewed and the Gospel would go forth from American shores in greater measure than ever before!
A prayer you can pray:
Father, we ask for a righteous government to be established in America. We realize You are working with men and women who may not know You as their personal Savior, but we know You can turn their hearts like a watercourse and cause their decisions to be just and righteous. We ask for a President and other elected officials who will govern this way, as well as protect our religious liberties, so that we can continue to expand the Kingdom in the earth. Lord, send us in greater numbers and power than ever before form these shores to the nations of the earth! We want to glorify You, Jesus! Amen.
Today’s decree:
We choose to elect leaders who will rule the United States of America with justice and righteousness, pleasing the Lord, so that Believers can be free to expand His Kingdom to all the nations of the earth from these shores.
