Violent Protests
A peaceful transition of power is America’s tradition and strength. But, immediately following the announcement that Trump had won the election, protests broke out nationwide, primarily on college campuses. This has continued each night since. The protests are now turning into violent riots in some parts of the country. Protests are occurring in Seattle, Miami, Philadelphia, New York City, Los Angeles, Portland, OR, and Columbus, OH, among other places. Police have remained in control of the violence, so far. But God! God is able to reverse the violence. He is able to bring the shalom of God, peace and wholeness, to our nation if we will pray!
“”How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!'” (Isaiah 52:7; NIV)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Proclaim that Jesus would extend His peace, the shalom of God, into our streets and into our cities all across the nation. Pray specifically over the cities mentioned above.
Pray for the safety of the students who are out in the streets. These are our nation’s sons and daughters; our nation’s future. Speak over them: “Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” (Psalm 34:14; NIV)
Ask the Lord to protect our law enforcement. Ask God to grant them wisdom in the way they address the violence, so that it is diminished and not increased.
Command the spirit of violence and anarchy behind this movement to cease and desist! Boldly command the conflict and chaos to dissipate!
A prayer you can pray:
Jesus, we thank You that You are the Prince of Peace, the Shalom of God! Lord, many of our major cities across the nation need this Peace right now. (Pray for the cities mentioned above.) We pray specifically for the safety of the students caught up in these protests. We pray you would keep our nation’s sons and daughters safe from all harm. Protect our law enforcement officers, as well, Father. Help them to have wisdom from above as they decide how to stop and dispel the violence. Let it be just enough and not an iota more than is necessary. We command the spirit of violence and anarchy that is attempting to stir up conflict and chaos to BE STILL, In Jesus’ name! Amen.
Today’s decree:
The Prince of Peace, Jesus, will give us peace and dispel the violence over America!
