An Important Announcement
As regular followers of Give Him 15 know, for the past few days I have been releasing daily posts regarding prayer for the war with Iran. I appreciate the many positive responses and the broad participation. I also greatly appreciate those of you who are helping spread the word regarding this.
In light of the seriousness of the situation and the urgency many are feeling for the church to step up at this time and do our part in prayer, many have expressed the need for a corporate gathering of believers to pray about this matter. As you can imagine, a gathering such as that isn’t easy to pull off, and even more challenging to do so on short notice.
Therefore, we are making a change regarding the upcoming Prayer Summit in Ohio on August 14. WE WILL STILL BE PRAYING FOR ALL WHO NEED HEALING. However, after a few minutes of worship, the first part of the evening will be devoted to corporate prayer regarding the Iranian situation (probably 45 minutes to an hour). When we feel the prompting from Holy Spirit, we will transition to prayer for individuals - as long as necessary. We are confident great breakthroughs will occur in the international, national, and individual realms.
Regarding this night of prayer, it is interesting that Friday, August 14, will have been approximately three weeks from when I began focusing on this subject last week. This is the amount of time it took Daniel and the angels assisting him to break through the opposition from the “Prince of Persia.” I certainly did not plan this, nor are we implying that there is a set number of days required to defeat a principality. There are no formulas for prayer. But we do believe that God’s orchestration of this timing is possibly a wonderful confirmation from Him that He is indeed orchestrating these three weeks of prayer, ending with this gathering!
Daniel’s intense 21 days of prayer remind us of the great need for perseverance. Although an angel was dispatched with Daniel’s answer immediately, on day one of his 21 days of prayer and partial fasting (Daniel 10:2), it took 21 days for the angel to break through the warfare with the answer. The correlation between Daniel’s period of prayer and the duration of the battle between the angels and the Prince of Persia is unmistakable: his prayers absolutely caused the breakthrough in the spiritual realm. We can also conclude that had Daniel stopped praying on the 20th day, the answer may not have come: Persistence in our intercession is critical.
Daniel’s experience is one of the many biblical proofs that our prayers DO accomplish things in the spirit realm. We are not involving ourselves in intercession just to fulfill a religious obligation. God is using them to do what He needs and wants to do!
Jesus meant what He said in Matthew 16:18-19, and what He communicated to us through Paul in 2 Corinthians 10:3–5 and Ephesians 6:12–18: we play a significant role in enforcing His great victory at Calvary. Paul actually asked repeatedly that prayer be offered for success in spreading the gospel (see 2 Thessalonians 3:1, Colossians 4:3, and Ephesians 6:19). The verse in Thessalonians states: “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you.” Think about the significance of this. We, through our prayers and spiritual warfare, play an important role in the glorious cause of Christ throughout the world!
I repeat a quote I have previously shared from the great E. M. Bounds:
“The more praying there is in the world, the better the world will be, the mightier the forces against evil everywhere…God shapes the world by prayer…The prayers of God’s saints are the capital stock in heaven by which Christ carries on His great work upon earth…Earth is changed, revolutionized; angels move on with more powerful, more rapid wing, and God’s policy is shaped as the prayers are more numerous, more efficient…When God’s house on earth is a house of prayer, then God’s house in heaven is busy and all-potent in its plans and movements; then His earthly armies are clothed with the triumphs and spoils of victory and His enemies defeated on every hand…God conditions the very life and prosperity of His cause on prayer.”(1)
There is no doubt that what is taking place in the Middle East, of which the war in Iran is currently Ground Zero, is linked to the success of the gospel, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit God has planned for the Middle East. I also believe it is connected to what He wants to do right here in America and in other parts of the world. We in the praying church are doing our part. We do not expect our government and military to do what only the Ekklesia can do. We will fight the battle in the spiritual realm, while they deal with the natural.
Join with us on August 14 in person if possible, or through live stream, as we fulfill our assignment during this season. I am praying that tens of thousands of believers will join us as we obey the Lord in this assignment.

Father, as we expand our focus on August 14 to pray for the Middle East, especially Iran, we ask for Holy Spirit’s guidance and favor. Lead us in the time leading up to this and give us laser-like accuracy on that evening. Move on the hearts of many to join us. Give us a breakthrough in Iran and miracles for those present.
And Lord, it is clear that You commissioned us to enforce Christ’s victory over satan and his kingdom, and gave us authority to do so. We honor this and declare that the evil forces of death and destruction in the Middle East will not prevail. They have been stripped of their authority through Christ, and in His name we bind their influence. We command confusion and disorder into their ranks, and defeat to their plans.
We ask You, Lord, to supernaturally dismantle the IRGC and all control held by radical Islamists in Iran. Free the people there from this oppression, and all of the Middle East from its influence. Create a beachhead of liberty and a base for the gospel to the entire region. Strengthen and expand the Abraham Accords, and bring a great, great spiritual harvest to the Muslim world.
Lastly, give our government and military supernatural help and brilliant strategies. Protect our troops, our military bases, the innocent people of Iran, and the nations surrounding them. Protect Israel from every diabolical plan to harm them. In Yeshua’s name, amen.
Our decree:
We declare the release of God’s Kingdom authority throughout the Middle East region and in the Iran war, in the authority of Jesus Christ. Amen.
