Let the Love of God Consume Us

“For God so loved the World that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16) “A new commandment I give you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, love one another. By this all men will know you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35) “But God showed His great love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord!” (Romans 8:38-39) “We love because He first loved us.” (1 John 4:19) (All verses ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  1. Read the verses above out loud. Meditate on them. Now pray them out loud and let the full power of God’s Word penetrate your heart, perhaps more deeply than ever before.

  2. Worship Him for He loves us with a love we can’t comprehend and that we don’t deserve.

  3. Ask Him to give you a supernatural grace to love others, especially those you have trouble loving. This is the heart of intercession.

  4. Find something you can do today to show someone they are loved – by you and by God.

A prayer you can pray:

Dear Father God, I am amazed at the way You love me. As I read these verses out loud and meditate on them, give me a fresh revelation of Your love – for me and for every other person, saved and unsaved. I want You to let me feel a little bit of the fire of that Love I do not deserve, but that You are to me anyway. This nation is in desperate need of this revelation, Lord. Our cities and America as a whole also need to see the practical love of Jesus Christ poured out through Believers with this revelation, which can undo hard problems. Unravel racism and false judgement, terror and many other societal wrongs by a tidal wave of Your love hitting us, washing the anger and pain away! In Jesus mighty loving Name, Amen.

Today’s decree:

The love of God will consume us and a nation will be changed.
