Celebrating the Inaugural Weekend
Ceci and I left last Friday for some of the events associated with President Trump’s inauguration. Before leaving, I had to prepare and record Monday’s, Tuesday’s, and Wednesday’s posts, so this is the first GH15 post sharing about our time there.
Ezra 3:10-13 (KJV) recounts Israel’s reaction when the rebuilding of the Temple began after decades of captivity:
“And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the Lord, after the ordinance of David king of Israel. And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the Lord; because he is good, for his mercy endureth forever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid. But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy: So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard afar off.”
The two opposite responses in the above verses - rejoicing and weeping - which occurred at the beginning of the Temple’s rebuilding, were also seen as 400 of us watched Trump’s inauguration together in D.C. on Monday. Many were shouting and clapping when he took the oath and gave his inaugural speech; Ceci and I were very moved and teary-eyed. It seems that I am often that way nowadays when back in D.C. Many emotions mingle together, making it almost impossible to isolate one. On Monday, I was a mix of excitement, joy, relief, satisfaction, contentment, gratitude for divine mercy, grief over the immeasurable wages of America’s fall and rebellion, and a sober realization of just how far we have to go (like the above Israelites, we have only poured a slab).
However, so as to not rain on our well-deserved parade, let me quickly emphasize that I did indeed experience great joy and excitement regarding our hard-fought victory over the antichrist spirit being removed from the White House. America survived two of the most corrupt and antichrist administrations in America’s history: Obama and Biden. The kingdom of darkness had free access to the Executive Branch of our government. By the grace and mercy of Almighty God we survived, and “Jehu” has begun his removal of Ahab’s and Jezebel’s influence.
Our time in Washington, D.C., began with a beautiful and celebrative gala on Sunday night, the Christian Inaugural Gala: Realigned for Restoration. Eight hundred or so excited attendees, ranging from members of Congress to business leaders to faithful intercessors, gathered at the black-tie affair to celebrate what the Lord has done. Unlike the other gala’s during the inaugural weekend, this one - while not “religious” - had a decidedly Christ-centered theme. I was honored to be one of the speakers. Here is a synopsis of the gala in an article by the Christian Post.
On Monday morning, we gathered with around 400 people in a private, indoor (warm!) location overlooking the parade route to watch the swearing-in ceremony on TVs, then watch the parade out the windows. (As it turned out, only the swearing-in.) It was exciting, jubilant, and festive - all believers.
I’m sure I don’t need to elaborate on Trump’s inaugural speech - I am sure that most of you saw it, but I do want to comment briefly. There are times when pleasantries and niceties are the most appropriate, and times when unabated truth needs to be spoken. I felt President Trump was right to read publicly the “indictments” of Biden and Harris in front of the entire world. The evil they have unleashed on our nation, in general, and many individuals personally - especially children - over the past four years made it appropriate for our President to state these things publicly. Countless lives have been destroyed. Though not being one given to turning the other cheek, Trump still might not have publicly exposed them had they only falsely accused and tried to imprison him, and sent the FBI to rifle through his wife’s underwear drawer; but I think he drew the line at mutilating children and wrongly imprisoning grandmothers.
The Atmosphere Over Washington D.C.
Over the years - indeed, the decades - I have learned to “tune in” to the spiritual atmosphere of Washington, D.C. I can sense, generally speaking, the level of warfare, oppression, and control exerted by demonic entities. I can also sense when that begins to change. I’m very pleased to tell you that I definitely discerned a difference in the atmosphere over D.C. this past weekend. Evil strongholds are being dismantled, and righteousness is being established over our land once again. As many prophetic voices have stated: the dominoes are falling, evil is being exposed, Trump is beginning his second term, reformation is beginning, revival has begun, and America is being saved - not by Trump but by the King of kings and Lord of the Harvest, Jesus Christ.
We must continue to pray:
for Trump’s safety and that of his family and team;
for leaders in Congress like Michael Johnson and other righteous leaders; and
for righteous leaders on the Supreme Court.
We should pray for all in authority, yes, but I emphasize these because satan would LOVE to take one or more out during this crucial time. He will try anything to stop God’s agenda. Cover them! Biden’s open borders left us with many terrorists in our land.
And pray that Trump’s cabinet is confirmed quickly. During his first term, the Left tried every trick imaginable to stop or delay the confirmations. Pray for the success of reforming efforts, laws, and bills. And lastly, pray for an outpouring of Holy Spirit on Trump, his team, and in our government. “Except the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain” (Psalm 127).
Pray with me:
Father, thank You for Your grace and mercy on our nation. We thank You for this, as well, on the nations of the Earth. Though our sins are many and are as scarlet, You wash them white as snow. We thank You for the turnaround that has begun in our government. We ask that this continue and increase. Give us leaders who believe in Your ways and desire to please You. Reform our nation!
We ask for Your protection over President Trump, his family, his team, and those around him. We also ask for this over House Speaker Johnson, Senate Majority Leader Thune, and our Supreme Court Justices. Keep them protected from every evil plan to harm them. Anoint and enable those responsible for protecting them with supernatural ability and skill.
And we ask for divine wisdom and revelation of how to transform our nation, bringing biblical reformation and healing. We also ask for the great revival You have spoken of that will save and heal our land. Let it absolutely invade our campuses, homes, government, inner cities, rural areas, and every segment of our society. Let it be a full-on, unprecedented outpouring of Holy Spirit in our nation, and throughout the world. Invade the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, South America, North and South America, and the islands of the sea. All of this we ask for in the name that guarantees we are heard in heaven, Jesus Christ.
Our decree:
We decree that America shall be saved, and revival is coming to Earth!
