Seismic Significance

On Monday, I gave a brief report regarding this past Friday night’s prayer gathering, but today is my first complete post since the event. I was totally exhausted from the weeks leading up to it and the lengthy service that night. I’m sure I wasn’t functioning at 100% while praying for people personally at the end, but my dear friends Rodney and Stephanie Lord joined me and, without a doubt, carried the load. Thanks to the two of them! (And if I prayed for you and it seemed I was not quite myself, please forgive me; I was beyond tired.)

I can honestly say that the evening was unlike anything I have been blessed to participate in. In two weeks’ time, Holy Spirit sovereignly orchestrated an international gathering of the praying church, the ekklesia, with hundreds of thousands participating around the world.

The team’s unity was tremendous and remained unbroken throughout, with no personal agendas entering the meeting, and Holy Spirit led the prayers, which were very Scripture based. We petitioned the Lord, asking for His intervention and breakthrough, and declared His Word with authority and strength as Holy Spirit led us.

Those in attendance were also completely engaged and in full agreement with the prayers released publicly. I have every confidence that the same thing could be said of the over 1000 churches that joined us. The reports have been absolutely wonderful. In the words of my spiritual father, Jim Hodges, whom I have quoted several times of late, “I believe the event had seismic significance for the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom and a lasting impact on the Body of Christ. It was so powerful that the global church won’t go back to business as usual!”

Many people are saying, “Please do more gatherings of this nature so that the corporate ekklesia can do what we are called to do.” We hear you, feel the same stirring in our hearts, and are praying about it. Without question, Christ has built an ekklesia in our day that has reached levels of maturity none of us have witnessed before. We dare not waste it.

Obviously, none of us on a frequent basis can sustain the kind of energy output, or the expenditure of time and money we did for this gathering. But we can continue to pray daily in our private times and with other groups we are part of. And we must. The enemy suffered a huge blow Friday night. And though the analogy is not perfect, any athlete knows that when you have the opponent “on his heels” or “on the ropes,” you don’t let up. You unleash a flurry, and we should do the same now.

We should declare daily the Lord’s victory over the terrorist regime in Iran, and His great revival there and in the Middle East. We should ask for wise strategy and pinpoint accuracy for our national leaders as they strategize on how to approach the situation; the head of the serpent must be removed. God wants to free and bless the people of the Middle East, not see them oppressed, and He wants to release the love of Christ to each one of them. He does not want a rogue nation forcing its oppressive and cruel ideology on others. Nor does He want a nuclear-weaponized Iran. And He certainly wants to send a great harvest. We should have zero doubt that when we pray these things, we are praying according to His will; and we know that when we pray according to His will, we have the requests we ask of Him (1 John 5:14-15).

We can also be assured that Jesus has all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18-20); and that He has been given all the nations or ethnic peoples of the earth as His inheritance (Psalm 2:7-8). The harvest in Iran and the Middle East is ripe and now is the time to reap. Join God’s great company of harvesters through your prayers!

And while we pray for the Middle East and other regions of the world, we must not forget America. Despite what some believe, a weakened America means a more volatile world, and a weaker church in America hinders God’s worldwide purposes. The light in “the city on the hill” must not grow dim; it must be bright. This is why we must have the Third Great Awakening; it is not an option. We must pray against the ideologies of Marxism, progressivism, Islam, and every other belief system that wants to erode America’s Christian faith and influence. God owns every square inch of America (Psalm 24:1), established it as a nation for His purposes, and those purposes are coming to their greatest significance. Please pray daily for this great awakening and pray for our national leaders.

Elijah prayed for rain until it came (1 Kings 18:41-45). Daniel prayed until Michael defeated the principalities operating around him (Daniel 10). The New Testament tells us to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Don’t stop now, church; we are making great headway.

I conclude with the words of Paul in 1 Corinthians 16:9: “For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.” Paul was not blind to the opposition, which he referenced as “many,” but he chose to pursue the great opportunity. “Great” is the Greek word megas, from which we get our English word mega. This wasn’t just any door. It was a mega door of great opportunity. If there was ever a time when we could say we are experiencing mega opportunities, even though we’re opposed by great opposition, it is now. But “if God is for us, who can be successful against us?” (Romans 8:31; AMP).

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might” (Ephesians 6:10).

Pray with me:

Father, thank You for so sovereignly orchestrating last Friday night. No one else could possibly take credit for it. Thank You also for leading us so strategically. And thank You for raising up such a great, unselfish company of believers determined to do Your will. I know You were pleased.

Give us the stamina and endurance to stay the course. Give strength to Your praying army around the world. Give them a greater level of spiritual hearing and discernment; we need great revelation. Show each individual, prayer group, local assembly, and ministry their role to play. Give them a heightened sense of urgency at this time. Help them to see the mega door open for the church throughout the world, and give them the boldness to go through it. Awaken! Awaken! Awaken!

And we pray for our national leaders, especially President Trump and his team. Keep them from making any wrong alliances or agreements. Give them Your wisdom and understanding, and cause it to override everything else. Make all deception abundantly clear. Make all compromise abundantly clear. May he and his staff remain determined not to “kick the can” to the next generation. Give them the wisdom and determination they need to cut the head off of this serpent in the Middle East once and for all.

We ask all of this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

We decree that the praying church around the world will not regress, but will go to the next level of authority, discernment, determination, and fervency.
