True Identity

Our children—our personal offspring and the children of our communities and nation—are our greatest treasure next to Christ. We should all be protectors of these vulnerable ones. We should all be watchmen over their lives and futures. Our desire should be for them to be so secure that finding their destinies in God is easy! And, each and every one should be publicly acknowledged for the gifts that they are!

“God who made you has something to say to you; the God who formed you in the womb wants to help you. I will pour my Spirit into your descendants and my blessing on your children.” (Isaiah 44:2a and 3b; MSG)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  1. Thank the Lord for every child you can think of! Name them by name to the Lord. Proclaim that all of those you named “belong to the Lord!”

  2. Acknowledge the gifts you see in the children you have just named. Ask the Lord to cause their destinies to be secured.

  3. Ask the Lord to silence every voice against these children and their destinies!

A prayer you can pray:

“Thank you, Father, for Your promise to bless our children and that because of Your blessing they will find their true identity in belonging to You, their Father and Creator. We ask that You would touch them so powerfully that they would acknowledge publicly that they belong to You, ‘and another will write on his hand, ‘Belonging to the Lord.’’ (Isa 44:5) Please would You silence the negative voices telling these students they are worthless or unwanted. May each one encounter Your love in a supernatural way this year!”1

Today’s decree:

Our nation’s children are precious, loved, and have secure God-designed destinies!
