Kavanaugh Hearings – Day 1
Today will be an introductory day. Senate Judiciary Committee hearings will begin at the Senate Hart building. Each of the 21 Senators on the Committee will have about ten minutes each to make statements in the form of opening remarks. This will give us an idea of how they think and what they may have already discerned about Judge Kavanaugh. The judge spent most of the time since his appointment by President Trump meeting with these Senators, answering their questions and letting them get acquainted with him. Some will still not agree with him politically, and will make statements accordingly. However, this is supposed to be an apolitical position. Don’t let their statements sway you. You are going to be praying and discerning.
“Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.” (Isaiah 41:10; NHEB)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
Intercede for all involved today – for strength and soundness of mind.
Pray that the statements made about Judge Kavanaugh are fair and true.
Bind all falsehoods and lying for political gain from any of the Judiciary Committee members.
Pray for prophetic discernment for the Christians who are interceding. We cannot be found at odds with God’s will. We must be in perfect partnership with Him as we pray.
A prayer you can pray:
Father, make us ready for the day ahead. Sharpen our discernment. Grant physical and emotional strength to Judge Kavanaugh and the Senators who will be discussing him before the nation. Many questions have been asked in private, but the answers will now be presented on the public stage. Intervene and keep the political passion to a minimum, or let the people see through it. We bind every force of darkness that would twist and turn words into swords. Let God be God in the midst of the hearings. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Today’s decree:
We will not be shaken by what we see and hear, but God will intervene to give us HIs chosen Justice!
