Tradition or Kingdom?
In the recent past, the Church was trying to hold onto tradition instead of embracing the calling to get involved in every sphere of society. Thus, the secular mindset took hold from education to government to media to family. Now, we feel voiceless and like we are in slavery to the world’s systems. But, we can change this!
“How can I picture God’s kingdom? It’s like yeast that a woman works into enough dough for three loaves of bread—and waits while the dough rises.” (Luke 13:20-21; MSG)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
Forgive the Church of the past for choosing religious tradition over Kingdom advancement.
Repent if you know this has been a way the enemy has trapped you. Tell the Lord you want to be free!
Ask the Lord where your heart beats most: family, government, business, education, arts & entertainment or media. Ask Him what practical thing you can do to change that realm of influence.
Passionately pray for that realm of influence for a few minutes.
A prayer you can pray:
Lord, I forgive the Church of the past for holding tightly to religious tradition instead of getting out in society expressing Your Kingdom to all. Forgive me when I have felt safe and comfortable there myself. Oh Lord, can things change?! Show me where You would have me expanding Your Kingdom. Am I unaware of an area of society that You have created me to influence? Show me! Then, cause my heart to cry out to You in intercession for that realm. (Pray for a few minutes for one of the areas above.) In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
Today’s decree:
The Church will find its voice, experience a greater level of freedom, and the nation will change as the yeast of the Kingdom is spread through every aspect of society!
