Day of Repentance and Renunciation

Today begins a three-day national call to fasting and prayer for the nation. Millions of Christians across the country will be praying today, tomorrow and Wednesday. Every Believer in the Body of Christ is being invited to fast and pray to rededicate our land back to Jesus Christ, the one and only Lord, along with our Father, and the Holy Spirit. Placing ourselves under the blood of the Lamb of God and as the Spirit of God leads, let us do the following today—repent of our national sin and renounce the power it has had over us.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14; NIV)

“He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion.” (Proverbs 28:13; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  1. Identificationally repent for the worship of any false gods or participation in any false religious activities. Use Daniel 9:1-19 as your guide.

  2. Repent for any covenant breaking that has occurred on a national level, including the breaking of treaties with the Native Americans.

  3. Repent for the sin of the shedding of innocent blood, including the sin of abortion.

  4. Repent for any acts of injustice or corruption that have occurred, especially in your city, including slavery and racism. Pray for a healing of the wounding between police officers and the African American community.

  5. Repent of rampant sexual sin, such as pornography, sex trafficking, forced public acceptance of alternate forms of sexuality by various governments and immorality in general.

  6. Renounce the above activities and agree for the breaking and cancellation of every curse that became active as a result of the above activities.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we humbly ask You to forgive us our national sin. We, Your Church, are not innocent. We repent of idolatry and the worship of false gods and participation in the worship of gods other than You. We repent for the nation’s breaking of multiple covenants with the native Americans. We repent of the sin of abortion and the shedding of innocent blood. We repent of all acts of injustice and corruption in our communities. Forgive us for the sin of racism, specifically, and for not loving others as we want to be loved and accepted. Forgive us of every form of sexual sin and for not honoring you with our bodies. We repent for our federal and state governments and school boards forcing the citizens to accept forms of sexuality that are not acceptable to You, Lord. We, Your Church, renounce all of these sins and ask You to remove any curses that have come upon us as a result of our national rebellion against You and Your Word. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

Today’s decree:

Today, the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ humbly repents for our national sin and renounces all acts against the Word of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
