Don’t Forget Where You Have Come From

“The Lord is about to pour out a transformation on this generation. Some of them seem to be in impossible situations. They are in gangs, on drugs, even murderers. They are sinners. But, God is going to transform the sinners. We are going to have to decide how we are going to treat them. We are going to have to reject the sin, but embrace the sinner. God is coming to save!

Don’t ever forget. At one point in your life, you were a lost sinner. King David was a murderer. The apostle Paul was a murderer. God raised them up and they became two of His most powerful leaders.

Some of you need to get ready. You may find yourself discipling some of these gang members. You may be one God uses to introduce them to Jesus. They might just wander into your churches. We need to make sure that we don’t carry a self-righteous attitude or walk in a spirit of pride. We need to remember that God hates pride as much as He hates murder. He hates religion and a religious spirit, too.” (Dr. Negiel Bigpond)

“And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, ‘Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.’” (Mark 2:17; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  1. Cry out for the lost and the prodigals.

  2. Deal with any attitudes you may have where you dislike the sinners – the murderers, the liars, thieves, and the fornicators.

  3. Divide the work of the enemy from the precious person caught up in the darkness.

  4. Believe they can be transformed by the blood of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit.

A prayer you can pray:

Father, we ask You to touch our hearts with what touches Yours. May this generation of Church fathers and mothers not reject the lost, the prodigals, and the new Believers coming in! When we observe their sins and iniquities, let us remember where we have come from! Let us remember that we were once sinners, and we have been saved by Your marvelous grace. Let us determine to separate them from all the enemy has done to destroy them! Let the harvest come in! Let the prodigals return! We don’t care what darkness they have wandered around in. They were deceived. Let the light of Christ shine in their hearts. Holy Spirit, draw them! We will love them, heal them, challenge them, and restore them. Make us disciples of the next generation, so they can mature more quickly than our generation did. Grace, grace, grace in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s decree:

We come to call the lost and prodigal sinners to repentance!
