Pushing Through to the Finish

“Justices are supposed to be politically neutral, but over the years have “legislated from the bench” more and more frequently. This makes the balance of conservative-leaning Justices to liberal-leaning Justices more desirable than ever before. But, what the nation really needs is a Justice who will honor the Constitution. Everyone wants something, but this is what we know—Judge Gorsuch is a conservative-leaning judge who is a strict constitutionalist. He will interpret the laws up against what the U.S. Constitution actually says or allows for, period. We know he stands for life, as he wrote a comprehensive book on the subject of euthanasia. He is a conservative that is feared by liberals with varying agendas. He is a man that was once unanimously appointed by the Senate to the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals in 2006. He is the wrong man to attack so viciously.” (Cindy Jacobs)1

“But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” (Amos 5:24; ESV)

Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:

  1. Decree into the confirmation vote today,“Peace! Be still!”

  2. Pray that God will intervene and bring the Senate together once again in peace and unity. This will take a miracle.

  3. Pray for all Supreme Court Justices to return to the task of impartially interpreting laws as constitutional or not, as opposed to “legislating from the bench.”

  4. Contact your Senatorsearly today and make them aware of your support for Neil Gorsuch.1

A prayer you can pray:

Father, this has been a chaotic week on Capitol Hill. The fight over whether Judge Neil Gorsuch is the right person to serve as our next Supreme Court Justice has been a divisive one. We speak into the final day and we say into the conflict, “Peace! Be still!” We intercede between the two parties and ask for a miracle, Lord—make them one, even as You are One. Our nation needs unity, because it is there that You command the blessing. We believe You have been dividing to multiply. We may divide, but You will heal. May all of our Justices respect the Constitution and stop legislating form the bench. Thank You for putting it all in order, Jesus! Amen.

Today’s decree:

Into the chaos on Capitol Hill, we decree, “Peace! Be still!”
