Praying for Neil Gorsuch
In a stormy season, there’s another storm brewing this week in Washington, D.C. At the middle of this squall is a potential Supreme Court Justice—Neil Gorsuch. He is possibly more conservative than Justice Antonin Scalia, whom he would replace. God is not moved by storms, but He is peace in the midst of them! Conservatives’ goal is to confirm Judge Gorsuch in the Senate and in the House by Friday, April 7. A few democrats have split from their party on this vote, as Gorsuch is a strong candidate for this position. However, a filibuster and a “nuclear option” are being poised as weapons in this battle.
“They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.” (1 Peter 3:11; NIV)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
Pray for the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch.
Pray that the “fighting” will be minimal and the confirmation process short and to the point.
Pray that the peace of God will invade the middle of the storm. Declare, “Peace, be still!”
Pray for Judge Gorsuch and his family, that they will not waver in their faith that God will be faithful to them.
Pray that all Justices on the Supreme Court return to the task of impartially interpreting the laws as constitutional or not, as opposed to legislating from the bench.
A prayer you can pray:
Father, we pray for the completion of Judge Neil Gorsuch’s confirmation process. This storm is building with political threats and positioning for chaos. We speak into the midst of this storm and we declare, “Peace! Be still!” As Neil Gorsuch has put his trust in You, Lord, bless him and his family with Your Rest and Peace. It is time for our Supreme Court to return to the activity it was founded for—to determine if laws are constitutional, and that is all! Thank You, Jesus. Amen.
Today’s decree:
We decree that the way has made clear through the intercession of the Saints for Judge Neil Gorsuch to be confirmed as A Supreme Court Justice.
