Faith Responds in Advance
Jesus meets a woman in Luke 7 who’s in a bad situation. Her husband has died and now her son is dead. Before He does anything to change her natural situation, Jesus tells her not to weep. If anyone had a right to weep, she did. This is the funeral of the widow’s only son. Jesus intended for faith to respond to the arrival of presence that announces intervention. Celebrate before the intervention and watch the transformation! (Damon Thompson)
“As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, ‘Don’t cry.’” (Luke 7: 12-13; NIV)
Give Him 15 minutes in prayer:
Bring your most challenging situation to the Lord. Can you find it in yourself to celebrate the Lord’s miraculous answer before you see it? If not, ask Him for the grace to.
Bring a challenging situation a friend or family member is facing and do the same.
Now, celebrate in advance of a major national issue’s turn-around.
A prayer you can pray:
Jesus, your presence entering the scene of the widow’s only son’s funeral meant a miracle was about to happen! Grace me to be able to see my challenges as opportunities to invite you to get involved in my life’s most serious moments. Help me to worship You in advance over my friends’ or family members’ hardest situations. Grant me grace to celebrate national turn-arounds in advance of the change, just because I know You are coming on the scene to cause a transformation! Amen.
Today’s decree:
I celebrate in advance of the miracles I know are coming, Jesus!
